  I have a Pavilion A350N that won't power on.  I can turn on and it will turn off after 30 seconds.  I removed the ATX12V1 (2 X 2) plug on the montherboard.  In my view, that the cable supplying power to the CPU.  When it is deleted, the system remains standing and not power.  No video and looks like the disc is rotating.  Is that mean that the CPU is fried?  Before you go out and get one, is there another check that I can to make sure it's a bad CPU?  I'm not familiar with the power on the card or if it should always have power on it or it comes on after a while.  It would be worth my while to control the tension on the plug (anyone know what pin voltages are?) to see the voltage is present, or stops?

  I would try another PSU... Looks like the power supply is a failure and cannot provide enough power to power the machine.

  I have HP pavilion DV6-1211 ax

  My lappy does not start, caps NumLock n led flashes once for an interval. I prepared in the forum and found it to be a sign of a bad CPU.

  I asked HP service center, they told me that I will get the same processor (AMD Turion RM-75), but I need to upgrade my CPU, I looked in my laptop model service manual and found "AMD Turion Ultra dual core ZM-87" is compatible with my lappy.

  So I want to ask that is it possible that hp will make this upgrade for me? I also found that the HP Pavilion DV6-1280 ax has the same exact setup that I want to put on my laptop.

  So if I ask hp to take AMD RM-75 and give me ZM - 87 will dio for me?

  Absolutely no way HP will modernize the CPU for you and on top of that, the problem is probably not the CPU but the motherboard. Blink codes are often incorrect because they come from the motherboard, and if the motherboard is bad it will give the wrong signals.

  After a few months I bought this laptop, I noticed high temperatures on CPU (70 + degrees celsius).

  2 years have passed and my cpu temperature is now 110 + degrees celsius.

  I put new thermal paste and cleaned the dust components because it was stop from overheating. It stops now now but the temperature is always 100 C + according to speccy.

  Is it possible to upgrade the processor and that model, or is it better to just buy the new laptop?

  Yes, the processor can be upgraded to a 10 - 4600M. Your A6 is actually the lower end of the spectrum for the g7-2000 series.

  However, a more powerful processor is only going to running more hot, unless the heat is caused by the stress you place on it that case the A10 could be able to manage better. Laptops at base of AMD just tend to run hot and based on my personal preference, I've avoided them for the past 10 years or so. Computers laptops Intel can be very hot, too, but we just don't see as many problems. The A10 - 4600M cpu is not terribly expensive ($50 or less) and if you've been inside the laptop to work on the cooling system so that you know how to do the replacement. Personally, I think hard on a new laptop but I see also try just A10 processor on luck, it will run more fees. The A10 is packed with slightly better graphics APU then you would see an improvement if you play games on it.

  If you do the upgrade remember to apply the thermal compound sparingly, just for the heart of processor and don't forget to clean the fan blades with a cleaner like rubbing alcohol.

  How do you know that the CPU no longer works? It's much, much more likely to be the motherboard.

• Bad HD replacing as second drive?

  I have a bad HD, I have a new installation disc.  System features include a removable external hard drive.  The new HD can be installed as a second HD and what what to do for registration of device etc.  Also, the second HD adjustable upward in the bios as the disk to boot from?  I did not much of this since the 286 old models with the pins of the rider etc.

  I was making mistakes first when I boot.
  Windows has a file missing or currupted (isapnp.sys).
  So I try to make a startup disk XP repair and while it is endearing to copy files, I receive other errror ' blah blah error code is 7 or 4.

  I did some research on all three errors and every difficulty unique potintial ram bad or bad Bios settings. I tried to reset the cmos and I've updated since the last version of toshiba. Always the same thing.

  I also replaced the ram with two sticks, that I had. The same problem. I think there must be some on board the cause of ram that I can get out the chip from the bottom and the laptop will always start and says it has installed 256.

  Where and how we replace RAM or what do you think?

  Have you tested the memory? You can use Memtest www.memtest.org which is a floppy disk or a CD.

  Perhaps the error is just guessing what the problem is. File copy errors can also be caused by a scratched or damaged CD, bad CPU, defective HARD drive, faulty DVD drive or motherboard. If Memtest passes, then test the hard drive for bad sectors.

  Hello!  I replace the CPU in my HP P6310F.  According to this literature, http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01949155 , I have an AMD Phenom II X 4 Quad-Core 9xx/9xxe/8xx (Deneb).  My understanding has always been that "9xx" means any phenom II in the class of the 900 series.

  I bought a retail Phenom II X 4 965 Black Edition, part HDZ965FBGMBOX number, installed and get the error message: CPU support is not installed message.  After searching and reading about the error message and other messages, it seems it might be due to the 'black edition' and/or because it is 125 watts.  It was the answer to a few others in the same situation as me.

  Can you please tell me why this CPU is not compatible and please help me with a list of compatible CPU?

  There is no AMD Black Edition CPU that are compatible with any PC HP desktop.

  That's what the problem is related to. Black Edition CPU are special processors who have discovered the multipliers for amateur quality motherboards. You could not access the multipliers to overclock the CPU with the motherboard you have installed it anyway.

  Even if you choose, buy and install one of the microprocessors in maintenance & service Guide there is no guarantee HP which will be exploited.

  You should also be aware that installing a different CPU than your office has been delivered with the warranty.

  Hi all.  I've been cleaning and updating my granddaughter desktop PC.  This model used by an Asus P5BW - rev 1.05 MB (HP/Compaq name: Buckeye-GL8E), a processor Intel E6300 4x1Go RAM PC2-6400 and runs a 10 Pro 64-bit Windows installation.

  I thought I would upgrade the CPU while I was there and bought an E6700 opportunity that is part of the Intel same product range with plug, with the exception of the higher clock speed.  On these two circuits rated FSB is 1066 and documentations of HP wrote this should work: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00748726

  However - there is always a but isn't there - the E6700 does not start in the BIOS.  No beep codes or any other indication, just never reveals the splash screen.  I have reset the CMOS, tried more fast RAM RAM slower but none of these things makes no difference.  I checked to see if there was a BIOS later / updated but it seems that it was never a product, v3.17, and this is what is currently installed.

  Does anyone know if there are some technical limitations - like model of processor being hard coded in the BIOS or something like that--that it prevents the work or have I bought probably a bad cpu chip?

  The processor should work as the specs are the same.

  When you reinstall the E6300 it starts fine but the E6700 is DOA.

  Looks like a bad chip. The only way to check is to install the E6700 in a different motherboard.

• SCXI-1581 reading bad weather

  I'm an intern summer and I'll try to find some help with the SCXI-1581 module. We had a major failure during the test of an engine and it damaged some of the test equipment. We have replaced all that appears to be damaged and tried to restart the test system. Everything worked fine except for this add-on. I use a 100ohm RTD to test the different channels and I get a constant temperature of evil. Instead of the ambient temperature from 26 to 27 degrees Celsius, I myself am-243 degrees Celsius-244. It seems as if there could be a scaling factor that is causing temperatures to record these low values.

  As part of my process of troubleshooting, I took the module SCXI-1581 the machine damaged and replaced by the same module from another machine. Temperature readings read correctly for all channels that I tested. Then I took the right module and put it back in the machine to work and he still read appropriate temperatures. With this small made check I took the bad module and placed in the machine to work and ended up reading the bad weather. At this point, I had concluded that the module must be bad and replaced the good module back into the machine to work. As a final check, I tested again temperatures and good module is reading the same bad temperatures as another module.

  I have trouble believing that mearly placing bad module into the working machine was sufficient to damage the good module as well. So my question is, is it possible to adjust the scale factor or the SCXI-1581 module needs to be replaced? Is there something else I can do for these modules work?

  I can not provided enough information, and for that I apologize. I'm not familiar with this equipment at 100%, but I'll do my best to provide additional information that may be required.

  My boss and I looked into it more and found the two cards to work very well. The error was in the RTD that we use to test the card.
