  • Control of accessibility from the figures without alt text

    I was watching a number of PDF files for my institution and have disocvered full Acrobat XI option in the check (although I've seen this in Acrobat X as well), isn't marking errors in figures without alternative text.  It will be on some files, but on most marks just the test as adopted when it should be impossible.

    I've rechecked 'Figures require alternative text' is checked in the menu text replacement and topics.  Did I miss an option somewhere?  I am trying to create a workflow for my staff, and I had a rather error get correctly marked in order to try and get them to do not forget to handle.

    If I take the same file that passes from Acrobat and then run it through another program, such as the PDF accessibility checker, it correctly reports all these images Acrobat transmitted as images without alternative text.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you.

    The figures have a text in the text instead of an alternative text field? I've seen this passage of the audit tool Acrobat XI but fail CAP 1.3 (surprisingly, he seems to spend CAP 2.0). The other thing, I would check is the content pane to make sure that the figures are not hidden in containers of the artifact.

  • Enable checkbox focus without COMMIT?

    I have an array of checkbox controls.  Each control has the same callback function that will update a text string identify which box was clicked.

    I would like to give my users the possibility to get the focus of a checkbox without an EVENT_COMMIT passing control.  In other words, it is likely they will do a simple click on the control to get the point here.  But in doing so, they will inadvertently switch the value of the checkbox.

    So, my thoughts were the following:

    (1) capture the EVENT_COMMIT and swallow it, or preserve the value and keep the same value before validation.  It does not, such as changes in value before validation occurs again.

    (2) just the user to right-click on the control.  With the EVENT_RIGHT_CLICK, I can call the callback once again with the EVENT_GOT_FOCUS event.  It works pretty well, but it is quite non-intuitive.

    I guess I'm looking for another original way to do it.

    If I understand what you're asking, it seems that this would do the trick. In the left click event, control and activates it and if it is different from that of the control that was clicked on, set the active control to the control that the user has clicked on and swallow the left click event.

    int CVICALLBACK CheckboxCB (int panel, int control, int event,
                             void *callbackData, int eventData1, int eventData2)
    {
        int swallow = 0;
        switch (event)
        {
            case EVENT_LEFT_CLICK:
                if (GetActiveCtrl(panel) != control)
                {
                    SetActiveCtrl(panel, control);
                    swallow = 1;
                }
                break;
        }
        return swallow;
    }

  • Text box text includes bad behavior with commas

    Hi all

    Right now I use APEX 3.1.2.
    I experienced some problems with the elements of text box when I insert commas (,) in the text.
    For example,.
    I have a form with element 3 [bis (text area), B (text), C (text)]
    If I try inserting "abc, bcd, cde" has
    I get A = 'abc', B = "bcd" and C = "cde".

    I think APEX recognizes comma (,) as a separator in the value in the query to insert the form-related. I try with a calculation calculation calculation Post or after the presents (for example "|: A |) ") to enforce the APEX to recognize all of the text, but it does not work."

    Thank you

    Nino,

    The behavior you describe is certainly not the default behavior of the ApEx. Could you post an example of apex.oracle.com?

    Hey Brainiacs (:=) community

    Can someone send me a reliable link on the upgrade of my MAC (OSX 10.9.5) to IOS 8 * WITHOUT * commit the update for XCode 6?

    IF I understand it well - I need to XCode x 5, IOS8, more recent MAF framework.   That seems difficult to download the Apple developers portal comes with 6 XCode.

    Always authentic,

    You can have both versions of Xcode on your machine.

    When my mac automatically updated Xcode to v6 without asking, I just downloaded again 5.1 Xcode and moved the v6 to another directory.

    Make sure your JDev points to the correct version of Xcode.

  • separate keywords by using spaces instead of commas does not

    In Lightroom Preferences > interface > I chose "spaces.

    It doesn't seem to work

    When I add keywords that they are always separated by commas (see the keywords placed in the screenshot)

    is this a bug? I started a new catalogue to try out it and nothing changes

    This is important for me, because I want to export keywords in wordpress and use them as the image tag without comma = alt

    Screenshot - 02_10 004.png

    Hi miklog,

    This is the expected behavior in Lightroom.

    Spaces under Lightroom preferences for keywording allows you to enter different keywords with a space, but Lightroom displays difference keywords with a comma.

    This is important because otherwise Lightroom will not be able to interpret the difference between a word keywords and keywords to multiple words.

  • How can I set up a list of the Figures with the extra text?

    I am writing my thesis Art History, which includes a large group of figures at the end.  My Counsellor asked that I caption images, but also provide a list of Figures before starting the actual pictures.  I got this far - I use the Table of contents feature for automatically numbered captions and then back up the text of the legend to the list of Figures.

    Here's the rub: I need to include information on where I got the pictures I use attribution, but only in the list of figures.  My Adviser has specifically requested that I don't include this information in the captions as he felt that it cluttering up the images.  How can I include small amounts of text (for example "after Jones 1987, Fig. 22") for hundreds of images in the list of Figures without putting this info in the legends themselves?

    Of course, just by typing the information in the list Figures does not - as soon as the list is updated the extra text is deleted.  I've been playing with the hidden layers, but when I create a new layer mask with blocks of text, the numbering of the original layer is disrupted.  Any ideas on how to keep numbers and include additional information in the list of Figures without adding it to the visible caption? I would be very grateful for any help.

    Maybe at the end of your legend, in a [None] color text, 0.1 pt size? Do not put in a separate paragraph, because you have to pick this up as well for your table of contents. To change this little invisible text, you can use the story editor.

    (And I'm far enough, which suggests making it conditional text, that you would normally hide, have it show only when you generated the list of Figures, before some awake dormant brain cells and required attention.)

    "Course it would work - you would get the extra text in your list, and if you hide conditional text once again, your document is reversed 'normal' State." However, what makes the conditional text visible can cause your text reformattingand so your regular content would be nice but the list of Figures - generated with more text in your document! -could be shifted a few pages...)

  • Why is there a commit implied before and after execution of DDL statements

    Hi guys,.

    Please let me know why he didn't is committed before and after the execution of DDL statements implied?

    Kind regards

    Helyos wrote:
    This is because Oracle has the design like that.

    Come on Helyos, which is somewhat a weak response. :)

    The reason is that it is foolish to update the structure of the database, while there are some missing data updates that have not been committed.

    Imagine having a column VARCHAR2 (50), which currently has data of size up to 20 characters.
    Someone (person A) Decides that it would be useful to change the table and reduce the size of the varchar2 column (20) instead.
    Before they do, a third party (person B) inserted data that are 30 characters in size, but not yet committed it.
    In regard to person B is concerned and that the Insert succeeded as they don't got no error message, and they continue on through their process until they reach a suitable to commit point.
    Person that has and then tries to modify the database to make varchar2 (20).

    If the database has allowed that to happen then the column would be varchar2 (20) and the uncommitted data is more, even if the insertion was successful. When person B is going to know about it? It would be wrong to tell them when they try and commit, because their operations have succeeded, so why commit would fail.

    In this case, because it's two different people, then the database will recognize there are transactions that are uncommitted on the table and don't let anyone B change it.

    If it was just one person doing the two things in the same session, then the data would be automatically validated, the executed alter and the person has indicated that they can change the database because it is (now) data over the size that they want to.

    It makes perfect sense to have the database in a consistent state of data before changes are made, so why a commit is issued in advance.

    Here's something I wrote the other day on the subject...

    DOF delivers a validation before performing the actual action
    As long as the DOF is syntactically ok (the parser is happy with it), then the validation is issued, even if the actual DDL cannot be performed for another reason.

    For example...

    We have a table with data in there...

    SQL> create table xtest as select rownum rn from dual;

    Table created.

    SQL> select * from xtest;

            RN
    ----------
             1

    We then delete the data but do not commit (demonstrated by the fact that we can roll it back)

    SQL> delete from xtest;

    1 row deleted.

    SQL> select * from xtest;

    no rows selected

    SQL> rollback;

    Rollback complete.

    SQL> select * from xtest;

            RN
    ----------
             1

    SQL> delete from xtest;

    1 row deleted.

    SQL> select * from xtest;

    no rows selected

    So now, our data are deleted, but not committed, what happens if we issue a DOF that is syntactically incorrect.

    SQL> alter tab xtest blah;
    alter tab xtest blah
          *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00940: invalid ALTER command

    SQL> rollback;

    Rollback complete.

    SQL> select * from xtest;

            RN
    ----------
             1

    ... data can always be restored. This is because the parser was not happy with the syntax of the DDL statement.

    So let's delete the data again, without commit and deliver a DOF that is syntactically correct, but cannot run for another reason (i.e. the database object it refers to does not exist)...

    SQL> delete from xtest;

    1 row deleted.

    SQL> select * from xtest;

    no rows selected

    SQL> truncate table bob;
    truncate table bob
                   *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

    SQL> rollback;

    Rollback complete.

    SQL> select * from xtest;

    no rows selected

    So, there we have it. Just because the statement is syntactically correct, the deletion of the data has been committed, even if the DOF could not be performed.

    It makes sense really, because if we intend to amend the definition of the database where the data is stored, it cannot take place unless the database is in a State where the data is where it should be instead of being in limbo. For example, imagine the confusion if you update data on a column and then changed the data type of columns to be of a different size, for example reducing a column varchar2 50 characters up to 20 characters. If you had data that had just updated you to more than 20 characters whereas previously it was not, then the alter table command cannot not on this subject, which could alter the size of the column and then the data would be invalid to adapt while the update at the time did not fail.

    For example...

    We have a table that allows only 20 characters in a column. If we try to insert them more in this column, you get an error for our insert as planned...

    SQL> create table xtest (x varchar2(20));

    Table created.

    SQL> insert into xtest values ('012345678901234567890123456789');
    insert into xtest values ('012345678901234567890123456789')
                              *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-12899: value too large for column "SCOTT"."XTEST"."X" (actual: 30, maximum: 20)

    Now, if our table has allowed more character our insert statement are successful. As far as our 'application' is going to believe us, nay, we were told of the database, we have successfully introduced our data...

    SQL> alter table xtest modify (x varchar2(50));

    Table altered.

    SQL> insert into xtest values ('012345678901234567890123456789');

    1 row created.

    Now, if we tried to change our database column date back to 20 characters and it did not automatically the data beforehand then it would be happy to edit the column, but then when the data has been committed he wasn't. However the database has already told us that the data were inserted, so he can't go back to that now.

    Instead, we can see that the data be engaged first because the alter command returns an error telling us that the table data is too large, and also can not restore the insertion after the alter attempt...

    SQL> alter table xtest modify (x varchar2(20));
    alter table xtest modify (x varchar2(20))
                              *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01441: cannot decrease column length because some value is too big

    SQL> rollback;

    Rollback complete.

    SQL> select * from xtest;

    X
    --------------------------------------------------
    012345678901234567890123456789

    SQL>

    Of course, being a statement commit to the existing session, if we had tried to modify the column of the table to another session would have got us

    SQL> alter table xtest modify (x varchar2(20));
    alter table xtest modify (x varchar2(20))
    *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified

    SQL>

    ... which is basically saying that we cannot change the table because someone else uses it and they did not commit their data still.

    Once the other session committed data, we obtain the expected error...

    ORA-01441: cannot decrease column length because some value is too big

    Hope that explains it

  • Slow performance Calc

    Currently, we have in our planning cube, dimension Org that looks like this.

    Org
    Region
    -US
    -Mexico
    -Latin America
    B_Region
    -B_Georgia
    -B_California
    -B_NY
    -B_Mexico
    -B_Cancun
    -City B_Mexico
    etc.

    We have many accounts stat, % and dollar which are some forecasts/budgeted at the level of "no B_" countries that need to be referenced later to Calc when you make a fix on 'B_' Lev0 ent.

    What we try to do, is running a calc just for the Orgs 'B_' retrieve a value from previous years for 'Account B' and multiply it by a value.

    With the calc course it takes 12 + hr to go through the entire Org (4000 + Lev0 B_ Org members) on a database that is only 3 GB.

    DIFFICULTY (@RELATIVE ('B_Region', 0))
    "Account has" = @PRIOR ('B account'-> @MEMBER (@SUBSTRING (@NAME (@PARENT (@CURRMBR ("Organization"))))) 2, 1, @LEVMBRS ("Year", 0)) *. 25;

    Without having to completely change the structure of the database, is there another way to write the calc to do what we're trying to do? I've heard other people who belongs to the function @MEMBER of the slow down, but have not been able to find documents mentioning performance problems using @MEMBER.

    We thought writing a DATACOPY to pass the values to the B_Parent and then try to use the func @Parentval.

    Thoughts anyone?

    Thanks in advance!

    The hard drive of my laptop suddenly developed a load of bad blocks without reason apparent, so I replaced it. I started a live linux CD to copy the old drive to the new and left running overnight. When I came back to him, he ran VERY hot. It's not well crushed.
