Bad rendering of Firefox "integrated in the PDF Viewer

There seems to be a rendering problem when opening this PDF file: http://www.gp.org/real-difference/the-real-difference.pdf

Basically, it shows: WWW.GP.o RG
While in other PDF viewers it just shows: WWW.GP.ORG

For me, it looks like this:
http://i.imgur.com/E8phigb.PNG

It may be that it is an issue that has been fixed recently. Please try again in a night generation: http://nightly.mozilla.org

If it looks great, it display properly in Firefox ~ 22 more or less so.

  • [SOLVED] [Firefox [19] How can I get Firefox to display the PDF files?

When I first installed Firefox 19, the PDF Viewer worked so well that I uninstalled Adobe Reader. Today, after an update system, Firefox stopped display local PDF. If I open a PDF file directly from a Web site, the internal PDF Viewer active and the PDF file is displayed correctly. However, if I open a PDF to my hard drive, Firefox just displays a mass of confused characters and the internal PDF Viewer does not work.

Here is a screenshot of the behavior: http://i.imgur.com/5Of0kUH.png

I tried to start in safe mode and the behaviour persisted. I really hope there is a fix for this, because the use of Firefox to view PDF files is really much better my workflow.

  • 29 Firefox is no longer prints correctly of the construction in the PDF Viewer

I print multiple labels of EBAY one day. Just updated to firefox 29 (not realizing really what has changed - now regretting) and the built in PDF viewer is no longer prints correctly. It shows well the label on the screen, but when you send to the printer (I tried two more different) it prints just the pages of two thugs. I tried a number of different print settings, and as I mentioned two different printers. Unable to get anything to print now except two blank pages. If I change the app settings in firefox to use an outside party 3rd PDF Viewer (e.g. Adobe reader 11, PDF Viewer, etc.) who work very well. However, the default built in PDF Viewer broke clear in this new version. A very disappointing start for me since it is an essential feature for my use. Yes, I have a work around, but the point (and a new bug) are still valid.

Firefox 29.0.1 has been published, which contains a fix for this issue - an update is recommended for all those affected: Firefox update to the latest version

  • How to get Firefox to display the pdf file in the browser (Win 7, FF 19.0, AA 10.1.6 IE 9)?

After that Firefox updated to version 19, when I tried to view a pdf file, the file appeared in a strange new Viewer. Seemed work OK, but I was concerned (did not know that this is apparently a new feature of 19 FF) and I wanted the viewer Adobe back.

After a few minutes of listening in the FF pdf viewer, a message appears that says something like--this viewer may be displayed not the document correctly. You want to use Adobe Acrobat instead?-I clicked on Yes.

Now, when I click on a link for a pdf file, it will either automatically opens in Adobe Acrobat (windows application, no player in FF) format, or I'll get a dialog box that asks if I want to save the file or use Adobe Acrobat to open it.

    I followed the instructions here:

  • Launch player of PDF file in the PDF Viewer for Google Chrome browser

    Hello!

So I have a PDF form that runs JavaScript document level to essentially make himself inactive (mask fields, etc.) so open in anything other than Reader or Acrobat. This works very well, especially in Google Chrome has had problems to submit PDF forms to fill in correctly.

Here is an example of form: https://luxsci.com/forms/6296/2251/Qlg5/Medical_Center_Intake_Form.pdf

Opened in Chrome and it is unusable, there is a layer of caution and a JavaScript alert. Open in Reader or Acrobat and it makes it very well and offer works fine.

When the file is downloaded in Chrome, it is saved locally, i.e. Chrome displays the URL of file as: file:///C:/Users/David/Downloads/Medical_Center_Intake_Form%20 (3) .pdf

I'm trying to make the process of opening the file of Chrome in reader as simple as possible for the end user. As such, I wonder if there is a way to add a button that will launch the drive on the desktop or the laptop computer of the end user and open this file?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

  • I want to disable firefox 19 pdf viewer and use foxit in the browser without downloading.

I tried two methods that I have heard so far to disable the new firefox pdf 19 viewr:
-in total: config pdfjs.disable set to true
-options > Applications > set display pdf application

The problem: when I'm on the Foxit pdf viewing application, firefox automatically downloads the pdf file to open it in the separate application. Until firefox 19, application of Foxit reader will open in the browser. How can Foxit not having an add-on firefox, I disable the pdf viewer 19 firefox and use Foxit Reader to open PDF files as a new tab in the browser?

To display the content in a Firefox tab, it generally takes a plugin. If that's not come with the main installer, it seems that you can use one of them:

  • Firefox PDF viewer (plugin) corrupts the files to download

There is a bug report. We found that files opened in the integrated Viewer (plug-in) PDF can be damaged when downloading using the icon "Download" on the upper right corner of the Firefox screen. When attempting to open one of these damaged using Acrobat files, you receive this error message:

"There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and cannot be repaired. »

If we instead to download the file by clicking right into the plugin viewer and select "Save Page as..." ' the file is downloaded intact.

Hello ClayH, a fix for this problem should happen in firefox 26. in the meantime, you could also install the current development version of the pdf viewer, which is available as addon from http://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/extensions/firefox/pdf.js.xpi and that should already contain the fix.

  • There are many versions I [changed an option] so that PDF files does not open in Firefox. v 42.0, now I have no pdf viewer by default/built-in at all.

I don't know how long it was, but I decided that I didn't want to use the pdf viewer by default in Firefox at the time, and because things have been very slow in the browser, I disabled the default viewer and set options to ensure that all PDF files that are open outside of the browser and directly in Adobe. I have no memory of what I've done to get there in time.

Now for c. 42.0 (and 41.0.2, front) when I go to Options > Applications and select one of the "Adobe Acrobat Document" s, my only options are always "ask," "Save the file", or «Use other...» "and there is certainly no option of Firefox Viewer in 'another use. »

With Adobe Reader latest terms and the fact that they can now push updates when they want, I just * never * use again.

How to bring back the integrated pdf viewer? I realize there are other pdf viewers and I'm picking through those, but I would still have a browser too.

Oh, hang on, I missed something. When you go into Options > Application, the content type that you want to change is Portable Document Format (PDF) , which is the standard type application/pdf. (The others being obscure guys like Marlon who are not your problem). Does it work?

  • Why firefox built-in PDF Viewer makes windows 10 crashes

I have a computer with Windows 10. For about two to three months from now, from time to time, my computer/windows crashes when I open or save a PDF in Firefox, which is extremely upsetting.
I just found out a few days ago that Firefox no longer uses the adobe reader plugin, but uses rather its own PDF Viewer built-in. When I changed the setting to use the external adobe reader software to open / download the pdf files, it seems that my computer no longer crashes.
So my questions are: why the bult - in the PDF Viewer gives windows crash 10? Will be corrected this problem and when? and finally, why Firefox forces to use its own built-in PDF Viewer when it cannot work properly with windows 10?
This was the most overwhelming problem that I had with my computer for a long time!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox, Tools/menu key > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox, Tools/menu key > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
  • How to request the pdf to open it with adobe web code plugin

Hello, I have a pdf hosted on my site that I can't change. It does not appear in FF built in PDF preview, it crashes just with a circle of rotation being displayed. If I force FF using the software Adobe Reader (or Adobe DC or what they call it now) plugin settings/Applications will preview it without problem. Many people visit our site of FF and say that this PDF file cannot be read. Is it possible to code HTML to request the pdf to be previewed with the if available Adobe plugin? I just get "non-informatiques people" who to complaint "I don't see this PDF file" and I answer with the support of FF to modify their PDF plugin by default, a link or can I tell them to use a different browser... but if I could get just a place to use the plugin if installed Adobe, this whole mess disappears.

I'm not an expert HTML, or a PDF expert, but I have access to the back-end web. Is it possible in HTML for a specific plugin be used if it is available?

If not, is it possible to use HTML to apply than the built in FF overview PDF DO NOT serve?

The PDF file was prepared in bad. Of course, the ideal situation is to use a PDF file that is displayed in the preview of FF, but this is not possible. This is not the first time that this problem came, and this isn't the only PDF I've seen with this problem.

No, a Web page has no control over the PDF viewer is used. It is strictly a user choice.
