  If monthyear is a DATE, then just use ADD_MONTHS:

  SELECT     monthyear
  ,     ADD_MONTHS (monthyear, -6)
  FROM     table_x
  ;
  

  Information about the dates belongs to a DATE column, even if you are only interested in the year and the month.

  If monthyear is a VARCHAR2, then use TO_DATE to create a DATE from it and then use TO_CHAR to convert back, if necessary:

  SELECT     monthyear
  ,     TO_CHAR ( ADD_MONTHS ( TO_DATE (monthyear, 'YYYY/MM')
                        , -6
                      )
            , 'YYYY/MM'
            )          AS baseline
  FROM     table_x
  ;

• I have a basic calculation, but I can't figure out how to make the total tower with two decimal places

• Basic in LiveCycle calculation

  I am trying to create some basic calculations in a form that I created in LiveCycle Designer. What someone has done this, and please can - you help me? I don't understand the instructions in the help function or the book I have.  Here's what I'm trying to do:

  Text field has 100 (manual entry)

  Text field B 75 (manual entry)

  Text field C 25 (the result of the calculation of A - B = C).

  Then:

  Text field D 2 (manual entry)

  Text field E 50 (the result of the calculation of C X D = E)

  I prefer to use Javascript to Calculate the C-field event, you can use this command:

  this.rawValue = FieldA.rawValue - B.rawValue field

  Then the field E calculate event you will need to use this command:

  this.rawValue = FieldC.rawValue * FieldD.rawValue

  If you prefer using FormCalc you will always use the Calculate event and FieldC, the command would be:

  FieldA - FieldB

  On the calculation of the E field

  FieldC * FieldD

• Bug in the Windows 7 calculator

  There is a basic bug in the calculator of windows 7 (only in the standard display)

  Equation 1 + 2 * 3 the answer 9.

  The hierarchy in the basic calculator is from left to right is

  1 + 2 = 3

  3 * 3 = 9

  The scientist and the programmer calculator use the hierarchy of mathematical operations
  and the Standard Calculator treats 1 both functions in the order entered.

• Multiply fields simple adding of additional calculations.

  I have 11 fields that are set to multiply to field one, the b field. It's a very basic calculation (Dropdowna, Sim1), (Dropdownb, SIM2) and so on. They calculate very well with the seizure data, but when data is modified or added to another part of the form, amounts are added to these very basic calculations as a new total somehow and they seem to continue to multiply, producing incorrect results. Any ideas? I have problems here with what should be a very simple task. Calculations are shown in the columns "Necessary Services" in the picture as an attachment. Thanks in advance!

  It is not sensible. Whenever the computation takes place (this happens whenever any field in the file is changed), it will become exponentially larger.

  Your formula is basically: X = X * Y

  So if in a first time is 1/X and Y is 2 the result is 2, but then it will be 4 (2 * 2), 8 (4 * 2), 16 (8 * 2) etc.

  You cannot include the value of a field in its own calculation. It makes circular.

• Only fields with checkboxes 'Ticked' calculation

  I am completely new to the creation of custom scripts to calculate form fields, please exuse my lack of knowledge.

  I have one to know where there is a table that the user of the form to enter (up to 24) values in a column. At the end of this column, there are altogether, I was able to set up the fine using the basic calculations.

  In this table, but it has another column that has check boxes for each of the values added by the user in the previous column. It also has a total at the end of the column, this total must equal the sum of the values only when there are 'checked' check boxes. Is this possible? (below is a screenshot if it helps).

  

  I do not see how this works... What you can do, however, is to set the value of export to 1 and then use a script or the option of rating field simplified to calculate the sum of all time of text fields, check boxes. To get the desired result.

  Yes, you can embed calculations within other calculations. I do it all the time.

  The results of a calculation will be NULL if the elements are null, so you go back and look at the basic calculations.

  In addition, if you use aggregations in the calculations, you will have to spend the $ on the outside, so instead of doing it:

  -CASE WHEN X = Y THEN SUM (A) 0 OTHERWISE END

  You could get better results by doing:

  SUM (CASE WHEN X = Y THEN END REST A 0), especially if this calculation is added to something else and it's something else is in itself an aggregation.

• Improvements in work of motion detector (combines detected particle)

  I successfully built and tested a fully functional motion sensor, by using the procedure in "Image subtraction".

  But in doing so, I am to particles (blobs) multiple for a single moving, perhaps due to the removal of Image object.

  Using other morphological options, erode and dilate, I managed to combine several "close blobs" in a single as you wish.

  However, it does not. For example, a human appears as 3 drops (reconciled) separate, instead of one.

  No problem with large objects (cars) so.

  Could someone suggest any method to track a collection of objects BLOB as a BLOB?

  Note:

  I tried to gather the center of masses of the particles and perform some basic calculations to combine them into groups of blobs close together and then calculate an average value of the center of masses by group. However, this does not work.

  Included images show the results.

  Problem solved.

  Built a VI that manages the task.

  Attached image shows the idea.

  Works fine now with excellent results.

• What is the best method to add data to a file stored on a usb flash drive to avoid too many write cycles?

  I'm trying to store an important data on a cRIO sampled stream in the USB flash drive.

  I believe that there are two ways to add data to a file:

  1. open the file outside of the loop, then write to the file loop, then close the file outside the loop.

  Pros; More quickly and efficiently than the opening and closing of files in a loop is resource heavy equipment.

  Disadvantages; If the program fails partially through, all data is lost.

  2. open the file, write to the file and close the file, all in the loop.

  With the advantages and disadvantages as opposed to option 1.

  As my cRIO is finally deployed in a hostile environment and data are valuable and processing speed is not an issue of concern in this project, I'm leaning towards option 2, but after a few basic calculations that I realize that I'll be writing/opening/closing the file of thousands of times and I wanted to know if this will wear out the flash memory?

  My uncertainty is due to not understanding what happens when a file is opened written to and closed.  He writes the new data to new areas of the flash, or it write all data on top?  The latter would cause me problems not too long term!

  The 'magic' is not in the File Format (PDM vs vs binary text), but in the "life" of the file.  This solution creates a file of 24 hours and maintains a different file for each day.  If the USB "dies", you lose everything you have not backed up somewhere.  If the program dies (or errors), you lose the data for the current day.  You end up with multiple files (which can be a more or less), but we must still make the trade-off between (duration) of the file and the file number opens (which relates to your concern for the longevity of the USB).  By the way, I suspect that a good quality USB key (it's what you mean, right?  Or do you mean a hard drive USB powered?  Comments probably apply both) can predict today to not die on you, everything just because you make a lot of reads/writes (of course, you could get in-a-thousand...).

  In the Panel analysis, you can bring up the calculator and enter the following equation Ch ("[1] / results") = Sqr (Ch ("[1] / baseVals")).

  If you do this in the script, you can use the following.

  Call ChnCalculate ("Ch (" ' [1] / results "") = Sqr (Ch ("' [1] / baseVals" "" "))" ")

  Question: That would gain by disabling such a tiny proportion of your drive? Almost nothing!

• The names on the label for the identification of the bulk import

  Hello. I'm looking to import hundreds of names of namtags, with 10 on each page in inDesign.

  Can I export a list of any format, although they exist currently in excel. Is there an easier way to do this, rather than copy and paste them into the .indd document?

  I already checked that connects the text, but my problem is that some names will be on two lines on a name tag (because they won't fit in horizontally) but then if a family name does not fit on a label, it is pushed to the next and it messes up, and if I make provisions for two lines of text and then sometimes two names can be found on a label.

  Any help or insight here is appreciated, I try to be as clear as possible. I hope this isn't too particular situation.

  That's exactly what merge data.

  1. Make sure that your Excel column contains topics, for example, firstName, lastName, etc..
  2. Save it in a delimited file format (.csv works well if the entries contain no comma) NARROW IT
  3. Established since InDesign, a name tag occupying 1/10th of the page in the upper left corner. and be certain that another 9 (which will generate InDesign) will enter the remaining space (a few basic calculations is in order)
  4. Open the data merge Panel: window > utilities > data merge
  5. Choose Select Data Source from the data merge Panel menu. Navigate to your saved .csv file and select it
  6. The data merge Panel will fill up with the column headings available in the data source file
  7. Set a text frame where you want the named on the name tag and with a direct insertion point, (blinking cursor), double-click on the desired column header in the merge panel data to set the field in the framework.
  8. You must have something like this:
     

     You can style the fields but you want the names to appear.

  9. Choose to create a merged Document in the data merge Panel menu
  10. In the dialog box create a merged Document, choose multiple records on the Records menu per Page of Document
      
  11. Switch to the tab cliché Multiple registration, tick overview several cliché registration and make adjustments if necessary.
      

• Fill in the text field when TWO radio button is unchecked

  I don't know anything about javascript and need help.  I have a photography contract I want to offer a "discount package" of $50 when the two services will be used.  1 service is 'Photography coverage' and Service 2 'Photo Booth Rental'.

  Text field 1 = subtotal (calculates the values of checkbox and radio button)

  Text field 2 = discount (it's where I need help.  I would like this automatically filled with $50 when my default two boxes are not selected.  But only when the TWO are not selected)

  Text field 3 = Total (which has a basic calculation of the Subtotal-Discount)

  The services of two by default (it's done on purpose, I checked from the beginning) are both set to the '0' values to keep the subtotal $ 0.  If the client will use a service (which means one of the default selections will be selected), then there will be no discount, but if they decide to use photography and the cabin, they save $50.

  Can someone please help me to write a script for the text field, Discount calculation, to accomplish what I ask?

  

  You can use something like what the calculation script custom field discount:

  Event.Value = (this.getField("Service1").value == 0 | this.getField("Service2").value == 0)? 0: 50;

  Simply adjust the field names in the code to match the real in your file.

• 17 short videos to make the dvd in still need the settings please help

  I want to make a dvd of 17 short videos.

  I did some basic calculations and I have enough space and then some.

  I simply forgot how to export the settings.

  I remember mpeg-dvd... but nothing after that

  I have search the forums and youtube and am not coming up with anything. I found one on how to do it in Blue ray but I use a base 4.8 GB dvd
