Basic NI 5132 configuration

Hi all

I want to use a NI5132 with labVIEW 8.2.
I've seen a lot of examples in the scope NOR but I Don t understand the basic operation of the present.
I don't know if to do IVI session or a session scope or in MAX.
Sorry, I always use NiDaqmx material.
I post an image of basic vi with the error state.

Any help?
Thank you

  • Basic IDS module configuration

I have some basic configuration questions to ask questions about a module IDS in a router 3725.

    (NM-CIDS)

    1. the interface of the module must be configured as a normal interface like any other fast ethernet interface. If so, how do I enter the web configuration of the sensor? I can t give the sensor a IP on the same subnet as another interface, so I have to create a VLAN on my switch and install a new network adapter on a computer just to access the sensor?

    2. I want to use the sensor to monitor my internet connection. My internet come in the router where the sensor is, but not on the sensor interface. So I added the line: ID-service-module of surveillance on the internet interface. I m now, assuming that the sensor monitors this interface, but it can block t any IP address on it can it? Can I use the interface of s sensor as my internet connection? It will route traffic to the router as any other interface?

    3. If the probe to be on it's own subnet, I can get t the licensing of auto update, since this new subnet as no access to the internet.

I must admit, I was a bit confused as the basis of this module menu, documentation is clear on how to implement and I did, I even upgraded the sensor to version 5.0, but the basic idea behind it and basic configuration is not clear, he only tells me the reasons for the separate subnet.

Can someone guide me in the right direction?

My goal is to install the sensor for connection to the internet society that is currently connected to a fast ethernet on the router card and send events to a syslog server that I'm being followed.

The NM-CIDS has 2 interfaces, you have to deal with.

The internal interface on the backplane of the router and an external interface that you can plug a wire to.

In addition, it has an interface of the router on the backplane of the NM-CIDS router. This background basket of the router interface and the internal interface of the NM-CIDS may be considered to be wired together.

To think of the NM-CIDS, the simplest method is to consider a PC that sits inside the router.

It can easily be compared to a device IDS.

The internal of the NM-CIDS is the interface to sniff. NM - CIDS does not have this internal interface to an IP address. It is used only for the reception of packets from the router for the follow-up and sending TCP resets.

The router has its bottom of basket interface that corresponds to this interface to internal sniffing NM-CIDS. You must obtain an IP address from the router interface NM - CIDS, but no traffic will never really "routed" to it. If most of the users will be either assign a non-routable address or a loopback address, or do share an address with an other interfaces of the router.

This address is NOT used to configure or control the NM-CIDS using a nonroutable loopback address is often the best thing to do.

This router interface and NM-CIDS background basket can best be compared to a port span on a switch controlled by a device.

The "ids" command applied to a physical interface of the router is like "covering" this interface.

The 'split' traffic is copied to the destination port "span", which is the bottom interface of router for the NM-CIDS basket. Once these packages are copied into the bottom of the router on the NM-CIDS slot basket, then the internal port of the NM-CIDS will sniff and analyze packets.

If the real package comes in an interface of the router and get "routed" to another interface on the other. If there is an 'ID' command on one of these 2 interfaces then these packages will be also copied ("split") in the NM-CIDS for surveillance. So the NM-CIDS amd the corresponding interface from the router backplane are not in the path of the package and are only a copy of the package.

NOTE: Technically, the package doesn't is not 'stride' because 'covering' is only taken in charge by a switch, but the majority of users to understand the concept. And the concept is what I'm trying to convey.

Now the external port of the NM-CIDS is the port command and control. This is where you have assigned an IP address. Understand that this is NOT a router interface. He will not participate in routing protocols. All packets destined for this port will stop at the NM-CIDS.

This port is better compared with the command and control of a device IDS sensor port. The port address is used only to talk directly to the IDS sensor.

So what address to to affect?

The best method is to give an address on your internal network more secure and phsyically in this network, all taking as you would for any other PC (or the port command and control of a device ID).

Since this interface the NM-CIDS is not a router interface and does NOT participate in routing, then it's OK for the router itself to have an interface on the same subnet and be connected to the same switch and the same vlan as the external command and control NM-CIDS interface. In fact, it's exactly what most users do. In addition, IP from the router on that subnet is usually the default gateway configured on the NM-CIDS for its command and control interface. If you think that the NM - CID is a PC, so it makes sense.

Some clients may have a special network for the management of their security devices (usually only large companies). In these scenarios, NM - CIDS command and control can be placed on a network that is not routable even by the router, in which he was placed. It's pretty rare, but it is possible to do.

  • Basic questions of configuration Cisco Aironet 1250

    Hello

I'll be three Aironet 1250 within a building.  It won't be a wireless controller, the AP will be autonomous.  I'll put them all the same thing, with WPA2 wireless encryption.  My question is, what is important and beneficial to add the configuration to the s AP so that they are aware of the other (for roaming maybe)?  If Yes, what is this technology called and someone could direct me to a section of a guide that could illustrate this?

Or I'm fine with just stand-alone configuration 3 AP as it is.

    All other pointers are welcome.

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you use the pre-shared as an authentication method, so there is nothing special to do. As long as they have the same SSID, are in the same subnet and are connected to the same network, roaming will be fine.

    No specific configuration is required.

  • How to use values that are repeated in a text ring control? There is another similar command?

    Hello guys,.

I'm working on an application which, stat-up, read a few basic values of configuration in a file and passes control ring text, such as an ini file.

The ring text control is ideal for use in the blocks diagram because I can choose a specific text and I the associated value, in a very clear way, but... I can't use duplicate values, and my application has more than two double values.

There's another way or control that replaces the ring control and maintains these good qualities?

    Thank you very much

  • NOR-DAQmx Base 2.0 and Win Mobile 5

    Hello

Can someone tell me if NEITHER-DAQmx Base 2.0 is compatible with Win Mobile 5 devices?

I try to capture analog voltages and my app very well builds and the charges for the PDA and the PDA does not see the DAQ (6062E) PCMCIA card that I use.

I ran the installer of 'Base' which has copied the Base/s driver file in the PDA (and I have the basic task OK configuration in VI), but the PDA comes up with an error "unrecognized card". I deleted the driver/s of the PDA database and reinstalled them but without success.

Is that all just because the Base 2.0 is not compatible with Win Mobile 5?

Is there a way I can get 2.1 base to work with LV-Pro-8 and PDA - 8 or y at - it another way I can get the drivers on the PDA that handles the card under Win Mobile 5 6062.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Thank you

    Paul.

    Hi James.

    Sorry for my late reply.

The problems are a combination of LV8.0, Base 2.0 and hardware failure.

In the end I went with LV8.6, Base 3.2 and Win mobile 5 with 6024E PCMCIA card or 6062E.

The basic hardware config utility is a bit different and took a little of violin to go. I also found some documents that lead me the wrong path re save for the project or unit basic tasks, but now I understand it's all good.

I don't know if your customer still has problems, but I'm more than happy to help if I can.

Thanks for your help as well.

    Best regards

    Paul.

    Hello

    1. you are trying to attach an internal hard drive?

You may need to contact the device manufacturer for more information on the physical connection and the BIOS (Basic input output) configuration when you fix the hard disk.

    Note:

BIOS change / oxide of additional metal (CMOS) semiconductor parameters incorrectly can causeserious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Once you configure the hard drive in the BIOS, you can consult the links below for more information about how to partition and format a hard disk using the Windows XP Setup program

MN - 700 router worked for a while (over 3 years) without password. How to set a password?

MN - 700 router worked for a while (over 3 years) without password. How to set a password?

This is a pretty old router, but documentation is still available from Microsoft:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902461 the 'Guide' is more complete, but the "Base Station Configuration Guide" will explain how to configure the router.

I guess what you mean by a "password" is the password for the wireless encryption (there is also a password that controls access to the router configuration utility). The following are the basic steps to configure wireless encryption (see the documentation for more details and screenshots):

    1. utility access to the router configuration, preferably with a computer connected to the router with an Ethernet cable (if you change your wireless security, the parameters using a computer connected to the router by wireless, the connection will be abandoned as soon as you click APPLY).  Open a web browser and type 192.168.2.1 in the browser address box.  If you have not changed the logon password, enter 'admin' (without the quotes, all lowercase).

    2. click on the "Security" link on the home page of the configuration tool, then "Wireless Security".

    3. Select the "niveau_chiffrement" in the combo box to "256-bit WPA - PSK (louder)" - unless all of your wireless devices are so old they don't support WEP (unusual for a wifi device years less than 5 or 6).

    4. in the box, type a password (between 8 and 63 characters), and then click 'apply '. at this point, you will be disconnected from the router (and the Internet) If you did the above changes using a computer connected to the router WiFi.   Write the password in a place where you don't forget.

    5. close router configuration utility.

To set up your wireless computers:

    6. open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)

    7. right click on your wireless adapter icon and select Properties.

    8. click on the wireless networks tab

    9. make sure the box at the top next to "use Windows to configure my wireless."

    10. in the list of "Preferred networks", select the entry to your router (your network name), click on 'delete '.  [This deletes the entry from your wireless network WITHOUT a password, so that you will be able to add an entry for a network with the same name WITH a password.]

    11. click on the view wireless networks"" button.

    12. the name of your network should appear in the list of wireless networks.  Select it and click "connect". When you are prompted for the password, enter the WPA password set in the router configuration.

    13. open a web browser and confirm that you can access the Internet.

  • RVL200 and Windows 2000 Server - can not access network resources via VPN

I am new to the VPN, and I feel I'm missing something very basic in my configuration. I just installed a RVL200 as the gateway for my corporate network router.  The network includes a Windows 2000 Server that acts as server DHCP and several PC and a printer.  I was able to "establish a SSL VPN tunnel" home connection to the router, but after recording in everything I see is the screen of virtual Passage - one with lock icons - otherwise I am inside the router.  The statement shows that I am connected.  Once the tunnel is established, what am I supposed to do to get computers to the computers on my network?  I can ping all computers on the network using their LAN address.  I'm supposed to see a choice of network resources to get to this point?  I put the router as a trusted site in the server and even tried to disable all firewalls, but I see that the VPN screen with icons.  I don't know how to proceed from here because I don't know what I'm supposed to see.  Thanks for any help that you can give to a newbie!

The SSL connection is only for the VPN router. To access the computer, you can use Windows Remote Desktop connection. So that you can access to remote computers on the network, or you could look for 3 third-party software for remote access

    Hope this helps

  • When you set the IP address of the router, WRT160N Inaccessible

    Hello

I bought a WRT160N router yesterday and eagerly tried to connect my laptop to the internet (ADSL) modem using this router. As my ADSL modem is a router DHCP too, and I want to keep it like that, I have it plugged in ethernet cable form one of my ADSL modem/router, LAN ports in one of the LAN ports on the modem, Linksys have the Linksys operating as a bridge. However when I tried to specify an address of router static IP (192.168.1.254) in the basic parameters of configuration Linksys Panel, disabled the DHCP setting and saved, I could not connect to the router more using this new IP address - my browser tells me that the Web page doesn't seem to exist, but it cannot establish a connection with her. Then I have to reset the router in order to access configuration panels using the default address 192.168.1.1. Is there a reason why I cannot access the control panels of the router with the new IP address of the router that I've specified?

    Thanks for any help,

    Hello

the problem is resolved, be it in a different way. I tried your trick to wait 30 seconds after the registration and the recycling of the modem, but this had no effect. What helped does not change the settings for address IP Routerl and the setting from the DHCP server on the router for the disabled at the same time. If I only changed the setting to the IP address of the router and recorded, the modem has been reset automatically and starts with the new correct router address. After that I changed the setting of DHCP server to the WRTN160 to off and then I was able to get the router working, like I wanted.

I assume that when you connect the router to a computer reset (after taking out the IP address of the computer) with DHCP from the active router, the router assigns an IP address to the computer that somehow interferes with the local IP address parameter, if you define that at the same time.

In any case, all work now, and I have excellent signal everywhere in the House. I guess that congratulations go to me :-) but still thanks to eliminate one possible cause of the problem

    Kind regards

installation of eFax is possible only via the software for the specific model. I'm afraid there is no way to do it without having to install the software:
