Basic system back up DVD Vista

I want my system to vista basic, i.e. the disk hard operating system and files associated backup on a DVD. When I use the control panel configuration, then Im Centre of backup and restore receives a unique option. That option is "backup files '. '"  This should read "System backup" if Im correct.  I need to download software? I thought that the system came with a backup feature.  I failed to do it the first day.  I have no original back upward.  I have a D: drive but do not understand how to restore from it.  I restore the DVD supplied with the PC, but the updates I needed when the restoration was complete once took several hours.  Im trying to avoid this process long if I should have any problems with the drive again.  The problem I had seemed to be a rootkit, the system become slow, I used defrag and clean up the C: drive but the slow system and hang ups continued.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The foregoing may not be a credible source, but I had the feeling that this was the case, so I googled TSSTcorp CDRWDVD TS - H493B SCSI cdROM DVICE... and came up with it.

I will try to check this further, but I think I need to buy a DVD player that burns.

==========================================
You are exactly right...

The drive you have will read and write to the CD and will only read DVD.

See the following links:

Introduction: TSST TS-H493B CDRW/DVD-ROM drive user's Guide

Specifications: The User Guide for the reader of CD-RW/DVD-ROM TSST TS-H493B

If he would have to burn a DVD it looks like DVD - RW. instead of DVD - ROM

I wish I had noticed that earlier but missed.

  • Get the product key of product ID__Install some other DVD Vista and put my key in it__

I bought a new Compaq laptop with Vista Home basic pre installed and a sticker stating my laptop product key. After a week or disc hard crashed and was replaced. Now it had Vista Business installed (everything else looked like exactly the same 60-day trial of MS office, Norton Internet Security etc.). I checked with MS real profit and he says, AUTHENTIC, and if I didn't mind. Now the problem is that I don't have the product key for vista professional. I have the product ID(it is shown is My Computer-->properties). How can I get the product key? I used 2 different 3rd party tools that ask you to provide keys for all installed microsoft software, and both of them give me the same key, do I count on it?

I recently got win7 32 bit professional, MSDN key (free student edition). I want to give it a try. But I want to make sure I can get back to Vista again in case I have no problem. I have the recovery disk (I did once I had Vista Business), but I don't want to format all disks, and in this case, the recovery disk is of no use. How can I get a drive in Vista Business? If I borrow from a friend with a Dell laptop, it'll work if I install and then change the product key?

To restore Vista using Ghost 15 you first restore the system reserved partition (only if it has been damaged or deleted) everything else you need to do is to restore the second file.

But the system, reserved and the Vista partition should be part of (included) in the Image backup that you create. This first file / partition image is important and takes very little space (about 200 MB). His retirement Partition Vista takes the largest part of your space on the backup drive.

To answer your question, yes you choose selectively to only save the Vista partition.

    Concerning

It is not DDR3 or DDR2 even... it's the original DDR, just DDR PC2700 aka. PC3200 or DDR400 (same thing) also works

One of the great debacle of recent years was when the industry was selling computers with 512 MB Vista. They have been slow and caused much of the poor reception for Vista. Windows 7 manages memory better than Vista and "work" on 512 megs, but there is nothing you want to try to use.

  • Satellite U400-124: is it possible to restore the operating system without the DVD

    I have a U400-124 I want to do a system restore.
I created the Toshiba Recovery DVD but I don't have it with me (I'm in Italy and it is in the United Kingdom).

    I have three left:

    1 Vista (c :))
    2 WinRE (d :))
    3 data (e :))

Is it possible to restore the operating system without the DVD?

Also, what exactly are leaving them? I'm not wrong!
1 Vista (c) - for the operating system
2 WinRE (d) - is a hidden partition and it is necessary for the backup files in Vista
    3. data (E :) - contains the record of recovery

Sorry for my lack of knowledge! Thanks for all your help in advance!

    > Is it possible to restore the operating system without the DVD?
This is possible only if the second partition and HARD disk recovery file has not changed

Start the Toshiba HDD recovery procedure by pressing the F8 key.
A start menu should appear, then you should choose the first option called fix my computer.
Then it should open a new window with an option called Toshiba recovery.
Choose that and usually drive HARD recovery must begin.

Do I need a firewall if I have installed the basics of microsoft with windows vista x 32 Security. If I do how can I download the microsoft firewall?

Your quick response would be appreciated
    Edwardini

Windows Firewall is delivered with and is part of the Vista operating system.
You already have it and, therefore, you do not need, or you, can download another Windows Firewall.

Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) will close your Windows Defender because MSE has its own advocate and performance 2 defenders in the same machine allows to create conflict, not to mention redundant.

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

Method 1: try to scanner SFC [SFC system] on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 2:

Also try to scan your computer for the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Hello

Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools then system restore should be visible.

Also, a lot of PC brand have a restore option of the system via F8 at startup, and then click "fix." Useful if you cannot start Windows successfully.

Also you can click on start and then just type rstrui.exe and press ENTER.

  • Manually burn the backup of system image on DVD

I did extensive research on the Internet on the subject, but I have not found an answer.

I created several distinct versions of complete system images different windows 7 on a disk external hard usb through the backup utility windows 7 change each time the destination folder name.

I know that I can use backup windows 7 to create the system directly on DVD several images, but I want to do after I created the images on the external hard drive, because I want to be sure to use many DVD burn only a single image, choose the one that it is the best.

Can someone tell me what is the correct way to burn on multiple images of a single DVD that I created on the external hard drive so that I can use these multiple dvds with the ERD in windows 7 to restore the image of the system?

    Thank you very much

    Best regards

    Michele

I can't quite follow your train of thought, but here are a few thoughts of my own:

    • I can't burn images of system for DVDs. There are three reasons:
      -There are too many drives.
      -You cannot reuse the disk.
-Burned DVDs are much less reliable than hard disks.
    • Each machine, I occupy I maintain three images on an external hard drive:
-L'image of 'Factory' (which allows me to go back to square one)
-The most recent image (which I renew once all the few months)
-L'image before the most recent image (which lets me go back in case the most recent image turns out to be defective.
    • Given the performance a little unreliable the ease of creating native images, I use a third-party product. Its features are far superior and it compresses files image by about 50%. The product allows me to burn a CD of 'rescue' that allows me to restore an image on a blank disc.

The above measures I would recover quickly from any disaster, no matter what it is.

    Hi ruby3918,

    Welcome to Apple Support communities.

Looks like you are unable to reinstall OS X El Capitan on your MacBook Air because the laptop displays a lock icon with a field of password that you are not able to go beyond. The article below provides much information about the firmware passwords and it should help you to solve the problem of password on your MacBook Air.
