Hi @watercat0 ,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

It's a great place to find answers.
You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the HP Forums Learn how Post and more

I understand that your battery only shows 99% charged and plug in the power supply does not change it. A soft reset did not change, nor the convenience store found any problems.

I suggest you test and calibrate the battery.  Test and calibrate the battery (Windows 8).   You note wil in the document that 99%-100% can be a full charge.

I hope this helps.

Battery in the bottom right of the screen icon always displays the battery to 100%, until the battery is discharged and the Tablet turns off. How can I fix it?

Have you tried to calibrate the battery in the past?
To calibrate the battery, you must first unload the battery until it s would be entirely empty. Then recharge it again until its full charge.
This procedure should be repeated two, three times in the line

But beware: the Tablet cannot be turned on by pressing the power button, if the battery is completely discharged. It s recommended to recharge the battery pack by connecting the power adapter for 30 min before switching on.

    Hello

Have you tried to discharge the battery completely and then to load it again?
If this isn't the case, so I recommend to do. Test several times.

In addition, it would be very interesting to know how old is the battery. AFAIK the standard battery loses performance after about 500 times of loading/unloading procedures.

  • Percentage of battery always 100%

    Hello

I currently have a HP Pavilion dv6-7007TX Entertainment Notebook PC running Windows 7 64 bit. My problem is that the battery percentage shown on the right side of the taskbar always shows 100%. It will not decrease much matter how long I am on the laptop. A few days before, while I switch on the laptop before Windows 7 starts to load, there was a message that had something to do with the battery, but I don't remember what was the message (only that it has something to do with the battery).

This causes a real problem for me because I don't know when I charge the laptop.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You are welcome AlanWTL.  I hope I've been helpful!

This error message appears every time that you start the laptop? Had you noticed other problems of life battery leading up to this point?

I felt initially that it was a problem of calibration. This means that the battery has forgotten where exactly were his points 0% and 100%. It is the usual cause for proper display of the remaining time/battery issues. Even if the battery test passed I would still exclude the possibility that the cause. I will propose to perform two steps in one: a hard reset and manual battery calibration. Follow these steps and let me know the result.

    Hard Reset and manual Calibration

    1. Shut down your laptop.
    2. Remove the battery and AC power.
    3. Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds, remove residual power.
    4. Replace the battery/AC Power and re - turn on the laptop.
    5. After the hard reset connect the laptop to the top and let it charge for several hours.
    6. After load disconnect AC power and run check hard drive HP in HP Support Assistant until the powers of the laptop itself off the coast. Make sure to prevent sleep during this period.
    7. After the battery is fully emptied free of charge the laptop again.
    8. Run the test of the battery once more to make sure that there is no change and determine if Windows now reports the correct amount of the battery life.

  • Qosmio F50 - warranty for the battery problem

I bought a F-50 from Toshiba to Saudi Arabia. He has a 3-year international warranty.
But last month my battery or my adapter (No. Clue which one it is) started acting weird. I mean my battery charges to 60-65%.
So I removed my battery and started using only the adapter directly and my laptop works very well.

Recently, I called the service center and told them my problem and they confirmed that my battery is the real problem... OK fine...
I also told them my laptop has 3 years international warranty and they provide a free service... they said that my laptop has 3 year warranty, but the battery has only 1 year warranty... which means I have to buy a new battery...

I'm basically located in Chennai, India and I want to know if it's true. Is it true that the battery has only 1 year warranty?
Is it possible I could get a battery without paying. Is there any body else facing this same problem? *

And can someone tell me where I could give my phone to maintain it here in Chennai...

Thank you (I hope you understand what I mean)... ;-)

    Hello

First, stop the laptop, unplug the AC adapter unplugged, remove the battery and then press and hold the power button for a minute.

Now, plug in the AC adapter without the battery inserted, start Notepad, open windows control panel, open Device Manager, expand the entry for the battery, on the right, click on and compatible Microsoft ACPI control method battery and select Uninstall - do uninstall not something else here.  When the uninstall is complete, shut down the PC, unplug the AC adapter, reinsert the battery and then start the PC on just the battery.  Windows will automatically reinstall the driver - leave Windows running for a few minutes. Shut down the PC again.  Now plug the power adapter (with the inserted battery always) and start Notepad.

Then download, install and run the latest version of the HP utility battery Check, on the link below.

  • Satellite U300 turns off when the battery has been removed

    Hello

I'm on the laptop with the battery in place, and the power supply plugged in.
That's when I take off the battery (always plugged power) who, after 5 seconds the laptop powers off.

It's not happened before and now it happens ALL the time every time I have to remove the battery.
I noticed that when the battery is removed, the battery light is always on – if for some reason any cell phone still thinks the battery is connected.

For me, it looks like an electronic power supply problem.

But it s just my personal opinion

I think that the laptop should be checked by an authorized technician.

Contact the ASP in your country and ask for verification

If the warranty is valid then an everything should be done for free

  • Satellite A30 - electric light flashes and the battery does not charge

    Hi guys,.

I have the model above and recently, when I plug in my power cord to the back of the laptop instead of the usual constant green light loading, the indicator flashes and the light orange low battery always flashes as well.

I have checked the plug, unplugged the power cord from the laptop and plugged back again but does not help. A few times it started loading so everything went well and now he again refuses to load.

Any suggestions how I can solve this will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Dante

    Looks like a hardware problem

Usually if the power light blinks then it does not sound good because the LED provides an error code which can be read by a technician for laptop

But before you will contact the technician for laptop for help, try to do it:
Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter from the portable computer
Wait about 20-30 minutes and then reconnect the two parts.

Then try to turn on the laptop

If it doesn t help that it s time for the call of the ASP

  • Activate the battery Conservation Mode in Windows 10

Lenovo ThinkPad E540 laptop running Windows 10

When I got this machine, he was running Windows 7. With the help of Lenovo Power Manager, I was able to put the battery to load only when it fell below 40% and charge to a maximum of 80%. This configuration is designed to extend the useful life of the battery. My laptop is plugged in most of the time. I only use the battery for short periods.

When I put the battery always charged as he did in Windows 7 (from 40 to 80%), but I could not find a setting to fix this to upgrade to Windows 10. At some point, I installed a critical update of Lenovo. I think it was an update of the firmware. Since then, the charges of the battery to 100% every time I plug the. I want to charge the battery the way I used to. I saw this parameter called Mode of Conservation in online discussions.

This message indicates that it is possible to access the Conservation Mode in 10 Windows through the application of Lenovo settings:

    http://www.improdia.com/tech-tips/Lenovo-battery-conservation-Windows-10/

I followed the instructions in the post above, but my Lenovo settings app does not have a power for the Conservation Mode setting. I have the status of power, always on USB, rest of battery meter, but no Conservation Mode.

Does anyone know how to access the Conservation Mode in Windows 10? Or does anyone know how to get the same functionality via another way? Thanks in advance for your help.

As far as I know, this is not possible in Windows 10. This feature has been removed. I'm sorry.

    Hello

I'm on a long trip in Austria, Europe, and my old laptop could soon die.
So I bought this toshiba satellite pro c660-1j3 (nine) and I have 2 questions:

    (1) after be plugged in more than an hour, the new toshiba battery always shows a load zero. How much time do I need to charge until the battery show fresh at all?

    (2) I work and live in the United States. Would I be able to use the Toshiba in the USA, with an appropriate of course taking? Otherwise it will work in Europe?

I need to know, because I need a laptop that I can use in the United States and Europe and the month next in Australia, too.

    > 1) once be plugged in more than an hour, the new toshiba battery always shows a load zero. How much time do I need to charge until the battery show fresh at all?

In many cases the battery would support a preload more. This means that the adapter must be connected to a longer period of time in order to start the battery charge mode.
Keep it connected for 2-4 hours

(> 2) I work and live in the United States. Would I be able to use the Toshiba in the USA, with an appropriate of course taking? Otherwise it will work in Europe?

The adapter can be used all over the world, but you will need special adapter for making wall because it of different in the US, but you can still use the same adapter.

  • automatically optimize for costs of life battery batt to 100% within the parameters of the power manager

In the settings of my ThinkPad Power Manager W530, I chose the option "automatically optimize for life battery" (battery-> maintenance-> Mode of Charge of the battery). Nevertheless, he always fresh and keeps the battery at 100%. Is it normal for a battery 9 cells?

But many articles and discussions here at the forum State, actually in charge at 100% is not tor good battery life (see for example this article http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Welcome-FAQs-Knowledge-Base/How-can-I-increase-battery-life-ThinkPad/ta-... ). Do not miss anything?

    Thank you!

No matter how many charge cycles the battery on it, just the time where you change the batteries maintenance mode. If you have configured to maximize battery life, the battery may charge at a lower percentage (somewhere around 90%, more or less a few percentage points), but will show this figure as "integral" or 100% for the system. If you change the mode to load completely, then the maximum capacity will change to read the actual capacity of the battery.

The only way your situation would be a concern if, after setting the battery in order to maximize the battery life, then using the system on battery and load up once again, the battery always charged up to the full 94 w/h instead of reducing the number.
