Battery on Satellite A210

Hi all

I have the Satellite A210-1as, and it has a battery life of about 20 min. Lappy is a couple of months and this week is the first time that I ve actually used without being able to... (Nice try).
I say just Toshiba or is it only a bad batting for these lappys mania...

Concerning

Hello

In my opinion, you should contact Toshiba (authorized service provider). 20 minutes is certainly not the real battery life time and something is wrong here. I hope that you will get the new battery.

    Thank you.

For your model laptop you need 6-cell batteries. You can use:
    PA3534U-1BRS
    PA3534U-1BAS

Put the part number in www.google.uk and you'll find enough shops where you can order online.

  • Satellite A210 PSAFGE - is my dead battery?

    Hello

my Toshiba Satellite A210 PSAFGE-06900RGR battery is 48% damaged and only 31000mWh can be charged more.

This means that 2900mWh are lost due to the memory effect.

    Is - this warranty?

    48% damaged after 1.5 years?
I just want to try a tool called "Batterieanimator" but to use it I need to know the voltage of the battery that the computer turns off.

    Hello

I think the battery needs to be replaced.
Always it is that, sooner or later, every battery would die or lose the performance...
Battery is covered under warranty for 12 months (a year).

I think your battery is old and so it s not covered by the warranty
This means that you will need for a new battery

Check the used battery part number (remove it from the laptop) and use this part number to find a few online merchants offering this battery.

  • Satellite A210-1AP - battery and power supply problem

A few weeks ago I received my laptop (Satellite A210) reapair and the motherboard was changed.

Since then, I got problem with the battery when it is inside and power cable is pluged.
When the cable is in the laptop running on battery power I do not know why. Then when I turn it off battery led is lit Orange and the battery is charging.
When the PC is turned on, the indicator light does not work and the battery becomes lower.

So I wonder what the problem is.
I read somewhere that this problem could solve the BIOS update.
So anyone have experience like this.
Also how is installed BIOS, I saw there is an installer for windows (so I guess it isn't hard).

And somehow can back up old BIOS so I can go back if something bad happens.

    > A few weeks I got my laptop (Satellite A210) reapair and the motherboard was changed.
    > Since then, I had problem with the battery when it is inside and power cable is pluged.

In my opinion, the technician has done something wrong
The point is that this problem occurs after the exchange of motherboard and I think what this is about.

Contact the ASP who repaired the laptop and explain your problem.
I doubt that a BIOS update would solve this problem. I think it s a question an electrician

  • Satellite A210 - question about the battery life

I have a problem: my laptop works only 1 hour of unplugged to electricity, so my battery died after working of 55minutes (I mean I look at the pictures or typing in WORD). Is this normal? How long is the average battery life?
My model is SATELLITE A210/1AP (4000mAh) (my laptop is new; I bought it a week ago)
Please write how much your maximum battery work.

It is not easy to discuss this topic. With similar activity, I can use my Satellite A200, about 1 hour and 15 minutes. I don't know how you're using your laptop, but I recommend you to use all the power settings that can make the life of the battery a little longer.

Check the method of cooling, power profile, reduce the brightness of the display and turn off WIFI if you do not use and so on.

You must also understand that Vista needs far more resources than Windows XP Home edition and the life of the battery under Vista is not identical with Windows XP Home edition.

  • Satellite A210-17I extinguished but battery led amber goes when reconnected AC

I've seen a few discussions on the batteries is discharged quickly.
To be honest, when my Satellite A210-17I is on batteries, they last for 1 hour + / 15 min and recharge relatively fast.

The strange thing is when I worked on AC and stop and unplug all night, I always find the battery when connecting to Acre the next orange light.

It happened when I had only Vista as well as now with only XP in the boot menu (Vista still not deleted).
I have no alarm clock apps in the start menu and could not understand what Windows or Toshiba apps should force the laptop to wake up while it is turned off.

Someone at - he a clue, any similar experiences, comments?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Sorry, but I could t find problems with your laptop.
Is that battery working time depends on the use of the laptop.
I have an A210 with an AMD processor and my battery out lasts for about 1 hour 20 minutes using only internet Explorer.
The point is that all parts high performance like CPU and GPU ATI needs and wastes a lot of energy when running it only with the battery.

    > The strange thing is when I worked on AC and stop and unplug all night, I always find the battery when connecting to Acre the next orange light.
It is perhaps strange to you, but this is normal behavior for laptop.
A wake on LAN (WOL) function could be the reason for the flow of this power.

    Check this doc from Toshiba:
[Battery draining 15-20% when it is turned off during the night | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB6B01N50013R01.htm]

On the other hand, the battery still loses 2-4% of the power. Also if the WOL function would be disabled.
There is also an interesting Toshiba doc who could confirm.
[My unit loses 2-4% battery by turning the device off then turn it back on. | http://APS2.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB6B01MY000WR01.htm]

    See you soon

How long does it work on battery?

    Is this right?

    > I have new a210 16f (1 week) with win Vista and I can use only 1h30min

Yes, that's correct. You do not have a battery performance as on commercial machines like Portege and Tecra.
The A210 series is a portable high-end with a CPU and GPU devices stronger!
These devices require a lot of power!

Please don t forget the fact that Vista eat resources of the laptop! This OS needs more power GPU and CPU as the OS s early.
That's why with pre-installed XP notebooks run longer on battery for laptop with Vista OS.

  • Satellite A210 - keyboard, touchpad, battery, boot problems

    Hello

Satellite A210 age of less than twelve months.

    1. the speakers had problem - ASP replaced the motherboard, but now the volume is still very low, even when it is 100%. All parameters controlled and seem to agree. How to fix?

    2. do not always start battery as it is constantly flat. Laptop went to ASP which replaced the motherboard (again) and put the new battery. Now it is always best to run the laptop power adapter the battery loses still fresh. If unplugged from mains battery going flat all night?

    3. has refused to start with the power button, talking to ASP who advised to reformat the PC - fact, but problem remained

    4. reformatted much more time and finally returned to ASP that now the keyboard did not always work either. ASP has replaced the motherboard (which is now the third), but has not solved the problem and the keyboard. Still not having not battery

    5. the day I return A210, touchpad did not work. Talked to ASP which gave me a lot of options to try, including turn it off and wait 30 minutes, which is not done. He returned in ASP which says that there is nothing wrong with him?

How can I set the power and touchpad problem?
Gave up the drums and speakers
    .
Maybe someone else that ASP can give me an answer please. All I want is to be able to use my laptop and do all the usual things a PC, sound, keyboard, power batteries and do not always put in a USB mouse.

    Help appreciated

    > I tried the volume button on the front of the laptop, and it does not the speakers all stronger. I wouldn't know how to go into BIOS to change things.
In the BIOS, you cannot change these settings. I guess that this issue has something to do with the previous motherboard replacement.

    > Do I need to get a person who makes a PC run to change?
I think you should communicate with guys that have changed are repaired this laptop and should explain the problems that appears after change of motherboard.

  • Satellite A210-12U - no lights come on or anything like that

I have a Satellite A210-12U who died on me. I wasn't doing anything special, just posting on a bulletin board, one just like this and the power died, almost as a power cut, without warning. It was plugged in at the time. And now it is completely dead, no light doesn't come on or anything like that. Power cord is fine, just like the battery because the two work very well on my L500-11N. I tried out the battery and the power cord, hold the power button for more than 30 seconds and the replacement, but he's still dead. Is there some sort of internal fuse?

I thought it might be some sort of internal fuse, but have no idea if she has one, it is unlikely, if yes, can I change myself, and where can I find?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

I had a similar problem last year and I did the following steps:

-Disconnect the battery and the AC adapter
-Wait at least an hour or over night for example
-Reconnect the two (battery and AC/DC adapter)
    -Try to start the laptop

If that doesn t work, this seems to be a malfunction of the equipment. Maybe the card mother, AC/DC adapter or something else
You should ask your local ASP help ;)

    Hi all

The screen of my Toshiba Satellite A210 broke so I replaced it and RAM mounted, new screen worked for a few days now, it's a pure black with no sign of life.
I took the battery and put it back in and replaced the RAM but still no visual.

What happens when you do this?
Is portable ON all the time?

  • Satellite A210 freezes all of a sudden

    Hello!

I have a Toshiba Satellite A210-1 a 0. This month, he stopped for about 4 times. It just freezes, the image on the screen remains the same, but it does not react to anything (Ctrl + Alt + Delete, and even the power button). The only solution is to remove the battery.
I tried to clean the registry, but it froze again, after 1 day.

Anyone has an idea why it is doing this & what do you recommend?

Also, the last time that this happened the computer was lit for an hour just before he stopped.

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Thank you!

Have you tried to recover the laptop and reinstall the new copy of Windows 7?
Recommend doing this to ensure that this gel are not related to the problem of the system.

    Hello

I have a Sat A210 too and to be honest I didn t notice any high sounds coming from the AC adapter.

But I had a similar problem with my laptop aged of 6 year from another production.
The AC adapter cable was broken and so the noise of high tone was noticeable.

AC adapter replacement was necessary and I replaced it with a new

I recommend to check your adapter professionally and replace it.

  • Re: Satellite A210-19 WinXP SP3 Card Reader/Buletooth question f

    Hello.
I have laptop Satellite A210-19 f and I can't read any card in my player card on WinXp SP3.
Utils installed SD and card reader controller.
It does not work. Also my bluetooth does not work too. After installing bluetooth monitor noething happened.

    Any suggestions?

    _Regarding SD card problem: _
Go to Device Manager, remove the SD card reader, restart the laptop and reinstall the driver from SD card.
The problem could be that XP drivers are not released for the A200 PSAELE series.

In this case, you will need to use the Flash Media Driver of Texas Instruments, which was released for other series.

_Regarding the problem of Bluetooth: _
BT monitor is not the driver!
    You need the battery Bluetooth!

    You can download here:

    Symptom:
Keys is de-energized or gives wrong output. The problems occurs randomly, either right at startup or after availability. Looks like it's a hardware related issue and not a problem with the OS. The problem occurs in several OS´s and even in the BIOS-meny. None of the solutions posted in this forum / other items solves the problem.

The battery is not a solution (as suggested in other posts), the problem reoccurs after availability and sometimes even right to restart the computer. (Et laisse le visage, un ordinateur portable sans une batterie est un _stationary_) =)

No! It's not overheating and heat issue, this problem may occur at startup after a powerdown complete with battery and power removed. (and no, this isn't a problem of dust or a problem of broken / lack of cooling-fans/ventilation)

I use the lates for my model BIOS, so make a habit/flash-update of the bios to solve the problem.
Default factory restore is not a solution either, but _différemment_ ive tried, even if this problem most def is a hardware problem.

All the other solutions suggested by other posters solves the problem (most of them software related bugs in any case).

    Comments:
The problem started recently enough (ive had this laptop for about a year and a half) and judging by the other posts in this forum seams problem began on the same date/time to a suspect that he is a "calendar/clock" related question... but I'm not an expert and it's just a hunch (would explain why some users may experience a temporary "I solved the problem by changing keyboard-calendar" - euporia until) what they ecounter problem once again after a time of ).

The problem arises _completely_ radom and under any given the cirumstance...

The links that you post are not related to the A210 but L670 laptop model and it was reading about L670 and the problem has been resolved by the BIOS updated

I have a laptop A210 and this issue never happened to me.

You have already updated the BIOS and fact laptop recovery and this didn't help?

  • Satellite A210 - 171 (PSAFJE) - powers but does not start

    Hello

I hope someone can help me. I have a satellite A210 - 171 (PSAFJE). When I press the power button, the blue satellite lights text at the front left lights up, the light blue power (O with a top vertical bar) the HARD turns, the clique CD/DVD drive on a couple of times and its orange light flashes but nothing (BIOS and POST) is displayed on the screen.

The battery and the power supply are fine.

I tried to fix a screen of stand-alond without result.

The CPU HSF seems to be spinning and blowing air on the side.

I removed the HDD SATA and attaches to a desktop system - it reads and looks quite good.

I reinstalled the SODIMM - in fact, I removed the and then replaced them, everyone in the slot on the other.

    When powered, if I press on the "* FN *' & ' * F10 *' keys together, the indicator below the F10 lights & stays on until I repeat the sequence of button.» This happens not with ' * FN *' & ' * F11 *'.

I downloaded a * + Satellite A210/A215 Satellite Pro A210, Equium A210, Satego A210 Series Maintenance Manual + * (first edition may 2007) but the instructions for * + remove the keyboard + * do not appear to be correct and notes to open the laptop (to have a look on the system map) say you must do this first (and appear not to be accurate in any case).

Someone has an idea what more I can do, what might be the problem or where I can get the valid instructions for opening the case?

    Thanks much for any help.

    > Someone any idea more I can do, what could be the problem or where I can get the valid instructions for opening the case?

In my opinion, you did all that would help determine the possible fault
I would check also the RAM and the HARD drive first, it seems that the HARD drive is ok and that the RAM modules are not the problem. I don t think that the two modules of RAM might be bad at the same time, so I think that the problem can not be linked to the faulty RAM.

It is possible that the CPU or the motherboard is affected, but in this case, some diagnostic tools are needed that would allow to obtain more details on the affected parts

But this can be done by a technician of Toshiba ASP so what to say that sounds like a serious hardware problem (motherboard, cpu, etc.)

But try this: unplug the power adapter, remove the battery and leave the laptop disconnected for a while and then connect the two parts and try to turn on the laptop

If this is not enough, it helps technician ASP would be necessary
