Battery power when it is full of decrease (IdeaPad Z570)

Hello

About 7 months ago, I bought a laptop computer Lenovo IdeaPad Z570. I recently discovered that energy when it is full of my battery is declining. Now it's 39.3Wh, but it was 40.9 front. Can you please tell me what is happening to my battery?

I use Ubuntu and Linux this a screenshot of my battery information:

Welcome to the forum.

Please see this:

http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/Lenovo-3000-and-essential/how-to-maximize-your-laptop-S-battery-life/m-p...

The battery is normal, according to the number of charge cycles.

See you soon,.

I have a laptop Toshiba tecra 8200, when I use it on battery moniter decrease brightness, I tried to adjust the power to the control panel settings, but there is no option for brightness (win xp)? anyone has idea how to adjust the brightness on battery?

    Hello

If I remember right you can set the brightness of the display by saving settings. Please start Toshiba Power saver. Check the part runs on batteries. There must be some NORMAL called marker profile. Click details, and then click standby power mode tab.

There monitor the brightness option. All the four options set at the maximum level. Now when you use your laptop on battery power the brightness of the monitor will be defined to the maximum level.

    Please test.

  • MS A30 - battery charging when I plug in the power cable

    Hello

I'm having some problems with (I think) on my A30 power management utility. When I am running on battery power and I plug in the power cable, the battery continues to discharge even if the laptop 'knows' that it runs on the power grid (ie the utility says "current generator: alternating current.") "Online, discharges: 82%. Strangely, if I put the laptop in mode 'sleep', then resume, she goes back to normal (i.e. working on current alternative, the battery charges).

It is true, I think that this began after I installed "PC Pitstop optimize Scan" www.pcpitstop.com (please, not conferences - I used a couple of their public services before and they were very good, so I thought it would be too much), so I guess it's some sort of configuration problem, but I have no idea where to go from here. I went through all the options on the power management utility, but they all look sensitive. Any ideas (other than do not install software stupid, doubtful)?

    Kenny

    Hi Kenny,

I experienced this behavior on my A30 where the system says it works on current alternative, but still drains the battery and stops eventually.

In my case the problem has proved to be a loose DC Jack that sometimes cuts off contact with the socket on the back of the laptop. This momentary loss of power DC seems to provoke the power management utility switch to battery power, even though the DC power is restored. The only way out of this situation is to Hibernate / restarting the laptop.

I think that it is a problem with the power supply subsystem in the laptop that does not react properly when it encounters a momentary loss of DC. Then the Toshiba power management utility is no longer responds correctly and switches to the battery power.

My only solution to this was to anchor the DC cable to the back of my A30 so that there is now no chance of the plug DC moving in its socket. This has proved to be very effective for my A30 and I've had no recurrence of the problem.

    Hello

Access the BIOS and disable options like: wake-up on LAN and keyboard.
In Toshiba HW Setup I should disable the USB Sleep and Charge feature as well

  • Touchpad problem - running on battery power, does not work when it is connected.

Laptop Toshiba with Vista. The Synaptics touch pad battery power works fine. When it is plugged in, it freezes.  Disconnect the power supply and back to the battery and everything is fine.  That's happened?  How can I get the touchpad to work in both modes of power?

I played with power options, and there is nothing specific to the touchpad.  Setting the power of USB has no effect either. This laptop (Toshiba A505 series) is up-to-date with all service packs, etc.

    Hi mravitz,

You need to maybe uninstall and reinstall the Synaptics drivers installed on the system.

Uninstall and reinstall the Synaptics drivers.

    a. Click Start, point to settings and then click Control Panel.

    b. double-click system click on hardware and then click Device Manager.

    c. expand the device, and then double-click the Synaptics driver.

    d. click on the driver tab and click on uninstall

    e. restart the computer and check

  • switch power automatically when you change or battery power management

in windows xp, he was smart enough to understand that when I was on the battery, it should run in powersaver and when I plugged in, it should work on high performance.

I don't see a setting to make windows 7 this and must ensure that I click on power options and select the schema each time.

This is made more annoying because the quick menu shows only balanced + powersaver or balanced + high performance. so I have to click 3 or 4 times just to change the power mode.

frustrating that it does not by itself when she used to. I do not understand why common sense as this functionality has been removed. also limiting the CPU doesn't seem to work at all, as it shows 1.6 ghz instead of 800 mhz when the powersaver, and this feature worked fine in windows XP.

If these two things have been fixed, I find windows 7 usable.

    4. in the Plan name box, enter a name for the plan, such as "give a presentation", and then click Next.

    5. on the change settings for the plan page, choose the display settings and the sleep that you want to use when your computer is running on battery and when it is plugged.

To keep your screen on during presentations

    ·         Change the turn off the display of setting to never on the battery and plugged in.

To keep your laptop awake during presentations

    ·         Change the setting to put the computer to sleep forever on battery and plugged in.

    6. click on create.

If you are using a portable computer, your plan appears under Plans shown on the battery meter. If you are using a desktop computer, your plan appears under Preferred Plans of. The plan that you based your new plan is moved and appears under additional plans

  • Want K204TX: Dsicharging of the battery even when the laptop is off

This is a new computer laptop, about 10 days old.

I support 100%, power OFF (no sleep, full power off) the thing and then after one day when I turn on it back, battery is located at 95% and the computer starts to load it.

It is a rejection of 5% in 24 hours.

I thought that Li - ion cells have a self-discharge of 5% per month rate, steps per day!

Why is this happening? Is there something wrong with the laptop?

PS: I have the option disabled in the BIOS to USB charge. And nothing is connected to the computer laptop while it is happening. The laptop is off, no accesorries logged and stored in the backpack I got from HP. But still, the next day, I have 95% of battery and the computer begins to charge the battery again.

    Hi there @johnwinchester,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and Welcome back! I read your post on the HP Support Forums and see that you are curious about the HP Envy K204TX and the battery percentage.

You could try the HP troubleshooting documentation called test and calibrate the battery (Windows 8). Sometimes the battery just needs to be tested and calibrated with Notepad.

  • When doing a full backup computer falls down and must be closed

    Hello

When doing a full backup of the computer falls down and must be closed using the power switch, it is very good when you make a partial backup.
I'm trying to backup to an external hard drive via a usb connection.

The hard drive is formatted in NTFS
    Someone has any ideas
    Fred

    Hello

I will try to resume that you issue.
The HARD disk has several partitions (I guess 2 partitions)
The backup procedure works fine if you safe data only from single partition, but it crashes if you try to create a backup of all partitions of set. Am I wrong?

My first question; What backup utility do you use?
Are you sure that this backup tool supports the backup of the two partitions at the same time?

I put t know if it will help but a similar problem happened to me.
I've used Norton ghost and I wasn't able to create a backup of a partition.

The procedure began, but after several minutes, the screen goes white and the notebook frisottés.
I ran the scandisk, chkdsk and I defragment the whole HARD drive.

    This helped!

  • Satellite M50 - charges the battery only when stopped

My Satellite M50 battery only when stopped. Does this mean that when I work I'm still running on batteries, which of course carry out completely after 1 to 2 hours. Then I shut down the computer and it started charging again (orange led), and after a few hours, I still have a 100% charged battery.

Of course, this means that the computer is not available. Until a few weeks ago it used to have the same problem if I disconnected the power plug then reconnected it: the battery needed to dump then to 0%, even if the power is connected, but now the problem is constant.

I've updated to the latest version of the BIOS, I could find and even completely reinstall windows from the recovery disks, but the problem is still there. The computer is a Toshiba Satellite M50 - 126 model PSM51E, the BIOS is Phoenix BIOS v2.10

Is it possible that the BIOS is damaged of some sort? I tried to reinstall V2.10 but he told me that I have the same version and it will not be installed.

    Hi lartech,.

You can recharge the battery if you get into the BIOS and made the battery charging icon light?
Are you using the original Toshiba AC/DC adapter and battery?

In the worst case, it s a malfunction of the motherboard, and you have done what you can do: BIOS update and to install Windows from the recovery disc. If this doesn't help s a bad hardware work.

  • Under battery power Tecra A7 works slowly

I have a TECRA A7 laptop, and I have a problem with the battery. When I do not use AC power, the notebook gets too slowly with programs like Netbeans.
How can I solve this problem?

    Hello

I guess that this happens because the laptop uses different modes of consumption.
If you unplug the AC adapter the Toshiba Power saver will change the power on the laptop mode.
Maybe the other mode of power put the CPU settings at the lowest level.
I recommend to check first the properties of the power mode you use if you are only working with battery

  • Satellite A200-10W - I can work only 1 hour of battery power

    Thanks, Marko

    > What can I do?
    Buy a stronger battery ;)

Well, fact is that laptops Vista need more like XP laptops battery performance...
I found a few tests in professional Computing magazine and it is a Vista problem.

You can try to set the different parameters in the power station of Vista.
Try also setting the brightness at a lower level. This increase you battery performance but don't except to many

  • Satellite A100-225: battery power light flash orange

Last night, plugged my AGES of NINE DAYS by Satellite A100-225, the lights were on, it was working fine.

This morning, woke up, lights were turned off, tried to turn it on, the battery power button flashed light Orange.

Tried to play with the cable by plugging it into other outlets that I knew worked, nothing helps.

Have tried to start without the battery in it, without success.

Unless there is a function that can prevent from starting somewhere, I don't know what to say. This computer is nine days old, and I do not understand how something can just wrong all night.

Adding info if necessary - computer was on when I went to sleep, and was running Mozilla Firefox and WinAMP.

    Hello

Perhaps the unit automatically goes in standby mode or hibernation?
On this device, the automatic system standby/hibernation has been reinstalled. This function automatically stops the system when there is no input or material of access for a specified time. You can specify the time and select System standby or hibernation in the base of the Toshiba power saver settings tab.

In addition, if the battery LED is flashing it means that the battery charge is low. The adapter must be connected to the battery.
If it of not possible to charge the battery, so there are several possibilities: the battery could be dead, the AC adapter doesn't work or there is something wrong with the hardware of the laptop.

Try disconnecting the battery several times and then connect.

But according to your ad you tried a procedure and it doesn t work. So I think you should ask the ASP in your country to help.

  • Satellite P30-109 works to power when the AC adapter is plugged

    When I unplug the plug charger, it automatically goes to the battery: so far nothing wrong with it;
The point is that when I have the rear the charger plug into the socket on the battery until when, after about 20 minutes remaining with the high performance plan, begins to 'pip' (less then 10% battery) and goes into 'coma '.

Normal discussion it should go on net power and automatically fill the battery

Just after I stopped it, I disconnect the battery and reconnect it, then it starts to load again.

The battery is not new, according to Everest 65% usage level; It takes 20 minutes at this time for me more than enough. I just need to move the pc from one room to another for a presentation.

Although I wouldn't use the battery I still have a question: the cap on the back of the laptop is not really tight: sometimes he loses contact: without battery, it would be abruptlly pass.

    Hello

Looks a bit like an electronic power supply problem
I put t think she s adapter connection an AC loose. It looks more like a motherboard problem

One question; What version of BIOS that you use?
Please check if the latest version of BIOS is available and if necessary to update.

Hope it helps, if not then a few portable tests are required.

  • Mid-2010 MBP loses battery power while you sleep

Hi everyone, I have replaced my MBP unibody mid-2010 with a spare battery and the laptop battery lost its battery power very quickly, during normal use and while you sleep. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a different battery, and the same problems continue to occur, so I suspect that something is wrong with my computer at this point.

Above all, I had a second replacement battery installed when I wiped my computer clean and made a new fresh installation of El Capitan and the problem persists. The drain of the battery during sleep is even worse, it goes 100% to near depletion in a few hours.

I have read several threads on these issues but can't seem to find the one that matches my computer behavior or specific settings. I'd love some help troubleshooting this! Can someone kindly walk through diagnostics on this for me please? FYI I already have:

    (1) the drive repaired/checked permissions

    (2) reset the NVRAM

    (3) reset SMC

Thank you all and happy new year!

First, not all replacement batteries are at the height for use on portable Macs what OWC at macsales.com has batteries that are. The other thing is in what regards the battery life is what you do. As these effects for how long you can run on battery power only.  Ranging from light to moderate to heavy use. If you have things like an anti virus program on the MBP. It will run in the background. And to a certain extent, even in standby mode. That will exhaust the battery. Mac do not need anti virus programs. The amount of programs running in the background is all to one degree or another effect battery life.
