Battery PowerBook G3 Wallstreet/PDQ PRAM

I have a PowerBook G3 PDQ 300 MHz PPC G3, 512 MB RAM, 60 GB of HARD drive. My PRAM Battery is responsible for about 3 minutes and I am currently looking for a replacement with a new battery. After doing some research, I think I found one at http://store.fastmac.com/product_info.php?products_id=189. Does anyone know if this battery is good? Also where can I find a new main battery at a fairly reasonable price? Thank you.

I can't say for sure that this image seems to indicate a 'new' part.

To my knowledge. PRAM batteries are extremely rare to find. Your best bet is to rely on the...

  • iMac G4 not accomplishments RAM

I have a 2003 model iMac G4 equipped with a 1 GHz processor and I tried to put a stick of 512 MB of ram in it and when I turn it on it still boots in leopard surprisingly but it says that it only has 256 MB of ram. This iMac used to have 1.25 GB of ram, but I put the ram in my G4 iBook because I use it for school and the 512 stick came from the iBook. That these machines use different ram?

Can you identify the iBook G4? There were several different versions over the years

the G4 was manufactured; the first models all use PC2100 DDR266 200 PIN SO-DIMM.

    Only the last iBook G4 12 to + 14 - from mid-2005 use the DDR333 PC2700 200 pins

SO-DIMM; and this chip is the same as that which corresponds to the iMac G4 USB2.0 user upgrade

    specifying the location.

There were two models iMac G4 with 1.0 GHz processor; We use PC2100 DDR266 200-

pin SO-DIMM, while the model later used chips of SO-DIMM 200-pin PC2700 DDR333...

Some models can use the chip of RAM spec later (at slow speed of original memory due to)

limits on computer hardware) so the DDR333 is considered DDR266 in older Mac G4s.

A SO - DIMM DDR 266 since an old iMac G4 probably will work not in later model G4 iBook.

I have a Mid-2005 model iBook 12 inch 1.33 GHz that can use the same chip RAM upgrade

    the latest models of USB2.0 iMac G4 (PC - 2700-DDR333 200 - pin SO-DIMM) in a direct exchange.

And I have a little iMac G4 1.25 GHz models. The factory RAM chip is a different specification

pin count and requires the ritual apart take special upgrade to greater capacity.

You could exchange the chips where they came to test and see if both are OK.

If you touched the metal contacts on the RAM, which may have shorted the chips; or the RAM

was not entirely (if the parties were right in the first place.)

And you may need to reset the PMU in the iMac G4 to see if changing the RAM is recognized

to change the battery in the clock, a major takeapart is necessary. Enough effort to keep also has a

  • PRAM Battery support broke on a 3.1?

    Hi all

I tried to replace the dough from LANDAU (CR2032) on my Mac Pro 3.1 (early 2008), but - as many, many others have reported - the clip came loose and the holder broke off the coast of the logic board. It will not affect the local Mac store and the replacement of the card of any logic for some of $.50's nutz.

It is, others have suggested that my Mac will run okay without the battery. Your thoughts?

    Thanks in advnace

We used to face a problem similar in Apple Performa computers when third-party computer stores wanted US $25 for the battery itself and the installation was extra. Three batteries AA, with son soldered to the ends and the last soldered to pads on the Board of Directors. Or if you want to get fancy, a battery holder with wires soldered to the Board of Directors.

You can use any kind of long battery life of any kind of support. The unpowered 3 volt coin cell is nice, but not sacred.

If you can find any sort of similar battery backup, you can just solder a wire on the pads close to the original battery holder and [literally] hang there.

Not enough, but will work fine.

    --------

As long as there is AC, a diet of "always - we" 3 Volt will maintain this STROLLER without the battery. The theory behind the PRAM backup battery is that it is there to keep the content of the PRAM when NO AC power is on. Without batteries, you can have problems after a power failure, but as long as the power cord is 'active' Mac must be stable.

  • Can I change my iMac G3 DV400 SE PRAM Battery?

    Hello

I need to change the battery of LANDAU of my iMac G3 DV400 SE he has not been put in service for a few weeks now. I post here to get a safety advises to avoid death by electrocution myself and to avoid damaging the electronics. Please keep in mind, I am a complete novice and a layman. I have found the battery behind the trap door RAM map Airport - and I intend to change the battery by here rather than remove the entire bottom half of the machine.  In any case, I kept it unplugged for a few weeks. Now, should I get anti static gloves / mast, wrist strap etc,? What tools do I need - for example pliers to remove the battery, or is it safe to do so only with your bare hands? And what would you say to wear clothes and shoes? Is a bed in a carpeted room OK? Or what kind of environment do I do this? Besides, I do myself or must it be handled by professionals?

    Thank you.

You have that gave a lot of thought... Everything you can reach through this opening, as long the iMac is turned off.  Danger (high voltage) is at the back of the CRT, which makes Apple (by design) hard to reach (unless you intentionally take the iMac goes beyond the 'user level').  It's just a battery low voltage, as the replacement of the battery a flashlight.

To avoid the unlikely but possible damage to the Mac, you should discharge static electricity from your body.  Work on a floor without carpet is better.  If you do this on the kitchen table, touch a metal surface ground, like the faucet to the sink.

  • MacBook Pro has started to randomly stop when it is on battery since the upgrade to El Capitan

I have a MacBook Pro (15 inch, early 2011) which works very well on the Mountain Lion for a long time. I finally got round to upgrading to El Capitan last week: directly to 10.11.6. A few days later he just powered down without warning while I was working. He was so very well for a few days, but then made several times in the last 48 hours.

I am moderately sure it happens only when it is on battery (it did not in the past hours 8 while that plugged). Whenever it happens, that there is no warning and the Mac then fine restarts (manually) - Although the clock resets always in 1970 until he can contact an NTP server. One of the curious side effects is that my PostScript fonts were blank on the screen in Excel for a few reboots yesterday but then OK once again!

No hardware has changed. Major software change is only El Capitan and possibly an iStat Menus update.

I have reset PRAM and SMC. I ran the short AHT. I disassembled the machine and clean the fans. they were OK, but the problem seems to occur when the Mac is hot.

Spotlight and Time Machine sometimes seemed to be struggling for the upgrade, and I also saw rpcsvchost with 100% of a core for a while. The machine feels sometimes slow - but for the last 8 hours, it was very good. The only model that I put in place, is that it seems to occur only on battery; It's even happened then that the Dock (etc.) were loading after logging in after an unexpected shutdown.

The other thing common is in the newspapers every time:

    Cause of previous stop:-128

I scanned a number of related posts to aspects of it, but do not look at who blames El Capitan rather than material. Yet, many people reported this kind of problem after the upgrade... Coincidence?

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

A negative stop code generally indicates a hardware failure. Have the Apple to assess your Mac. The fix may be as simple as a spare battery.

Recently, I got a popup saying that the startup of my Macbook Pro disk was almost full. I did a lot of cleanup, but I always notice. My computer is losing battery really fast, going from 100% to 65% in less than an hour. I've cleaned enough 110 GB free space, I reset the PRAM and I downloaded an update software, just in case, but I don't see any change at all. In fact, every time I restart it says I have 110 GB of free space, but that number falls slowly more I use my laptop, even if I haven't opened. What should I do?

I had this same problem. Have you tried to check your battery life? So I went to the store Apple to fix mine was in a critical situation. Because I do not have the AppleCare I had to pay a certain amount of money to get my battery replaced. Everything is good now.
