• Email notification sound goes back to default

  Three times now, I put my email notification sound for Facebook pop. It works for awhile but then goes back to "Droid". Do not know why.

  I don't know why this is happening, but I have a possible workaround.  I do not use facebook on my phone, so it's just all the thoughts in my head.

  First of all, where is the sound of facebook that you use?  I think this is the facebook app doesn't like to share her sounds with other applications or the phone.  What happens if you were to copy the sound where it is now and put it in your notifications folder and set it as your notification from there.  I don't know if it will work, but it's something to try anyway.  I hope this helps.

  OK, nevermind.  I added my email account and then the option of adjusting the sound appeared.  Weird, but it works now.

  RESOLVED: the reason why it didn't work was the scene of singing! For all those who have the same problem, the solution here:

  In Skype, open Tools-> Options-> sounds. The text on the button says "Mute all sounds"? Be aware that if the text is "Activate all sounds", then all sounds are actually set on mute.

  About three months ago, the notification sounds new received message and calls just stopped working, exactly as if I was on the "do not disturb" mode

  I have a 8 GB SD card that was in my Blackberry 9700 and was loaded with ringtones, all kinds of Notification sounds and special EFX sounds. After the Gingerbread update, while I was exploring Google Talk + Video, I discovered that all the sounds and ringtones are available and working in this program.

  I guess the question is why are they available and not only this way in Google Talk + Video programs, email, text, Applications in a similar way. Is it a process of gingerbread, or the individual application.

  My guess is that some applications index all the media themselves, while the Basic apps that are part of the operating system, that are looking only in specific places.

  Each application (email, messages, contacts) has a menu of... separate notifications so if you are in text messages, you go to the menu button, settings and you can find the options there to change the sounds.

  I have a suggestion rather than a question: would be nice if the noise announcing new messages is customizable. For example, I would have preferred that has no sound for mail that ends up in the junk e-mail folder. What do I care about SPAM?   As Bruce said, you can use OE in Windows 7 (www.oehelp.com/OEnWin7.aspx) in doing so, then you can use my program OETune (www.oehelp.com/OETune/) to set the sounds to play or the HTML files to display for specific folders, whenever a message arrives in a folder.  So you can then use the rules to messages from Shuttle to different folders, and you can define a specific sound for each folder.

  Windows Live Mail, so even not suck the penalty try, unless you want to see how Microsoft can get.

  I assume that your custom e-mail notification sounds are found on your storage card.

  I think that once the update, the storage for the Sony Email and calendar application permissions to deny by default, so if you store your sounds of notification on the storage card, they do not work. Here's how I got mine work.

  I am running Windows 7 on a separate partition on a 2011 MacBook Pro (installed via Boot Camp).

  This laptop has two USB ports on the left side.

  If I connect/disconnect a USB device to the port more back, I get the notification sound as usual.

  However, if I log out these same devices to the port further there is no notification even if the devices are recognized & seem to work fine.

  Can anyone tell how to enable notification of this port please?

  The sound scheme has already been set to "Windows default", but just for good measure, I changed it but it made no difference.

  As mentioned be notified when you use one of the ports USB, but not the other.

  I posted this in an Apple forum & other users of this machine & installation are reporting the issue even if it seems to be a generic hardware problem & not just something on my own system.
