    A week ago, my Firefox home page has changed and I've lost the ability to have Gmail, YouTube, etc. appear at the top left of the home page. • Firefox home page has changed to open yahoo instead of google.

    My default home page has changed somehow. The page always shows the Firefox logo with a search bar, but that pressing the button 'Search' opens Yahoo instead of Google.
    I tried the add on "Reset" but he lost too much of my settings and add ons. I had to restore my original Firefox.

    Okay, I think I found it. I have disabled all of my extensions, deleted the file prefs.js again and then activated the extensions one by one. When I got one called Pdforge toolbar (or something like that), I've read about it and don't know why I never installed. I didn't even try to enable it, I just removed it. But I reinabled all others and the homepage is to stay with Google.

    Whoopee!

  • Home page keeps changing start.search

    This morning my homepage in FF and IE are passed to start.search.us.com. I managed to uninstall start.search (use Revo Uninstaller; it does not appear in Control Panel of configuration/programs). I was able to change my home page in Internet Explorer to what I want and it seems to "stick". But whenever I restart FF home page I had previously put switches back to start.us. I can find no evidence of start.search in Add-ons, Extensions etc. I think I know where it came from - I clicked a little too fast on some free software and spotted the search thing too late. I saw some extremely complicated explanations and recommendations for this problem in FF somewhere with a lot of comments that the substance was indecipherable and didn't work anyway. Any suggestions? I saw a suggestion that uninstall FF and then put it back can be remedied. T it? If so I can do it quite easily - save my favorites and the relocation of the single add-on I've used for months.

    In addition, if the problem persists, you can try to start the Task Manager (right click on the task bar) > process > Show processes from all users. You can then search online suspicious Image name and try to uninstall the external program from Windows behind the suspicious name via the start menu or Windows Control Panel > programs and features, or at least changes of settings in the external Windows program. Make a check of malware with some scan of malware programs. You need to scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database prior to scanning.

    If you decide to try one last thing, here are a few general tips:

    When you have a problem with a particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clear your browser cache and delete your cookies for the site.

    (1) delete the Cache of Firefox

    See: How to clear the cache of Firefox. If you have a large hard drive, this may take a few minutes.

    (2) remove the cookies from the site (waiting for work save first). While displaying a page on the site, try either:

    • Right click and select View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
    • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > 'view the Cookies '.
    • Click on the globe or padlock icon in the address bar > additional information > "View Cookies".

    In the dialog box that opens, you can delete cookies from the site individually.

    Then try to reload the page and sign in again. Who help me?

    NoScript and Foxtabs - their web sites open and my homepage selected. Under options, they don't show up-just my done home page. Don't know where else to look to stop this. Any ideas?

    Right click on the Strip to empty tabs and make sure you have bar addon activate?
    NoScript icon will come at the bottom right of the bar of the addon... allow the page with noscript and check

  • The 'Design Different' home screen Firefox keeps popping up even after controlling for him in the preferences.

    More here: [924123/questions/924123]

    I installed the new Firefox on my Mac, OS x 10.6.8 by dragging the icon in the Applications folder. I run the application and the "Different by Design" Firefox screen opens. My previous homepage is in a tab behind that. I select 'No' to help improve Firefox question and close the window. Whenever I have run Firefox or open a new window, and then displays the home screen Firefox. I checked the preferences and my company site is set as the home page. It matters little if I uninstall Firefox, restart the computer and reinstall Firefox. I even tried to install older versions, and continues to get the same error.

    Hi bigmex,

    You should look at this article on this specific issue and Preferences not savedarticle. It should give you all the information you need!

    If this does not work:

    1. Enter about: config in the address bar
    2. Click I'll be careful, I promise you if prompted
    3. In the filter field, type Startup
    4. Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
    5. Delete the text string, and then click OK
    6. Close Firefox and reopen the window to check that it worked.

    Hope this helps!

  • How can I STOP AOL of hijacking my home page?

    Hello

      AOL keeps changing my homepage to AOL.com.... I set my homepage to one of my investment sites, save it in tools, and after I close Mozilla Firefox browser and re-open it, my homepage is back to AOL.. I did this a dozen times.. Why is Firefox allowing AOL to do this? I do not have this problem with other browsers.. I do have the AOL toolbar installed, but I like the toolbar, I just don't like the idea of AOL controlling my browser.

    Windows 8 is such a pain in the buttocks, compared to 7 which is the Vista after XP. Thank you. I figured out to take all the shit off it is to say that I NEVER use unless a rare problem like that.
    I closed it, force closed Firefox and entered programs. I know that I don't install anything on my computer so I just deleted all of the 6/27 - some AOL of course but some sneaky programs as a downloader and a cleverly named coupon site.
    Then, I started Mozilla in safe mode and remove whatever it is that I did not recognize. I also added the proposed above plugin. When I restarted Firefox 22 it seems good to go.
    My only concern is that Firefox is showing it as installed on 6/27 (but may have updated on its own). So far so good no trace I see... which is not a lot to Windows 8. Thanks for your help!

  • V.17 Firefox WXP and W7 turns off the "back" button, Reload button, Home button and bookmarks toolbar items - how do I get them back or return to V.16?

    All the buttons worked fine until I updated Firefox to v.16 to v.17. Now, I can't get any of the buttons mentioned above in the toolbar to work more. Links inside an HTML page still work, but not the buttons above.

    This BUG v.17 appeared on my platform PC WXP and W7, only after I updated Firefox to v.17. No other changes have been made that would cause this BUG on each PC.

    If I can't fix this, then how can I rollback to v.16?

    Hi James:

    Thanks for your reply. You confirm what I said in my last post, that the problem was incompatibility with FF TUL v.17. I just disabled and will wait for an update of compatibility by the developer, if you eventually come.

    I still believe that there is too much FF updates - almost one a week, it would seem. They should be coordinated so that they go out less often when possible. In addition, all updates should include a functionality, like any decent software update.

    Thank you once again you have your answer.

  • Cannot change the password even after the deactivation of audit

    DB version: 11.2
    Operating system: Solaris 10

    We have a password verification function through which a password can be reused after 50 different password changes.
    But I want to disable this check and re - use a password.

    Profile of user SCOTT is DEFAULT. I put the password DEFAULT profile check the null function
    select profile from dba_users where username = 'SCOTT';

    PROFILE
    ------------------------------
    DEFAULT

    SQL> ALTER PROFILE DEFAULT LIMIT PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION NULL;

    Profile altered.

    SQL> select * from dba_profiles where resource_name='PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION';

    PROFILE                        RESOURCE_NAME                    RESOURCE LIMIT
    ------------------------------ -------------------------------- -------- ----------
    DEFAULT                        PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION         PASSWORD NULL

    SQL> password SCOTT
    Changing password for SCOTT
    New password:
    Retype new password:
    ERROR:
    ORA-28007: the password cannot be reused
    I tried at least as well, but still get the error ORA-28007
    alter user scott identified by xxxx ;
    No idea why this is happening?

    PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME search the DEFAULT profile - Oracle affect 180 days during the installation in 11 g. If the password has expired, you need to 'unexpire' account first and then change password.
