  I recently bought a set of wireless with an optical mouse wireless 2000, office 100 wireless keyboard and a wireless desktop kit 3.1 receiver.   Same problem here, but I found a way to make this work (in fact there are two ways LOL)

  -Remove one of the batteries.  Believe it or not, the scroll wheel works perfectly when I remove one of the battery (any).  However, I do not know how long it will last since there isn't that one battery in operation.

  OR

  -Remove the lid of dough and remove the batteries.  Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw about 2 rounds (for some reason, I think that it is screwed in too tight).  Replace the batteries and you are or that you set.

  I can't guarantee that my methods will still work, but the fact is that it works for me since then.

  Hello, I downloaded myself today and when I read your question, I went looking for him.

  Everything worked fine but I had to reformat & return my computer again the conditions of the plant.  I have add the correct software for my mouse.  Now, when I use the scroll wheel, it moves the screen a full coming soon page (spreadsheet, word processing, etc.).  The unique thing is that I can say that she does so ONLY with products at Microsoft (Excel & Word so far), with any other software, it seems to work as it should (a few lines at a time).  No one knows what is the cause?  Help please.

  I have a Targus optical mouse with a scroll wheel; and he recently worked like this: when you use the scroll wheel in multiple windows, it would scroll the window (to move the vertical scroll bar) goes up and down.  It was a huge time saver, and I was used to it.

  In Control Panel-> mouse, it has still the tab saying "wheel" roll the mouse to a notch wheel to scroll the rows x number of rows (it is selectable, I had 3, but tried to change as well); but it no longer works.  Now, it seems, I have to press the wheel to click, which then shows a circular scroll up/down, icon, and then I physically move the mouse up and down, and if I push down to click again on the wheel, I'm back to a regular movement of the mouse pointer.  It's MUCH more inefficient than the use of the wheel, so I'll try to figure out how I can get the drive working again.

  Should I uninstall MS Mouse and keyboard Center?  I thought about uninstalling and reinstalling the driver; but there is no mouse listed in the Device Manager (only has my touchpad there...)  It's a Targus optical mouse amu10usz; and even once, it was working fine before the installation of upgrades...

  I will suggest you to check the mouse with different USB port or another computer, still question remains the same! Follow the mentioned methods:

  d. click on mouse.

  e. click on hardware tab, click the Properties button.

  The first thing I would have suggested, it is change the battery.  On all the mice I've owned as a flashing red light / line means that the battery is low, as you said.  I can't find any information on the cause, otherwise.

  Is there by chance a way to change the entries and outzooming in InDesign CS6 to be with the Ctrl key instead of the Alt key? When you use the mouse to zoom scroll wheel, I mean.

  I used to press Ctrl and scroll the wheel to zoom in and zoom out, and now I'm too old to learn using Alt + key instead, that it is impossible, the tracks in my head to use Ctrl is too deep. Cannot be erased or replaced.

  Or is there maybe a way to make the wheel to zoom in and out without stroking any key?

  No possibility to change the zoom keys. Here's another way to zoom in and out.

  Use Ctrl + space, and then click the mouse to zoom in

  Use Ctrl + Alt + SPACEBAR, and then click the mouse to zoom out

  I took a leap and a leap of faith, the upgrade to Firefox 3. something to 11.0. I work through awkward differences in the user interface, but I'm having a problem with the scrolling.

  It is perhaps too early to know for sure, but I think that my problem, loss of the scroll wheel of the mouse in the web pages after visiting one or two particular websites and some time, navigation is not a memory leak problem as some have suggested, nor a funky extension, but rather a problem of mouse driver. I am using an IBM mouse brand with the driver bundled with it rather than the standard driver from Microsoft. removed the IBM mouse driver (and mouse) and installed a mouse of brand store using the standard mouse driver Windows XP. This has not hung up again within a few days of use.

  If I have a memory leak problem, I don't think I've met the result of it still. The program (which currently use 10.0.4 ESR) appears to be stable, no crashes, no crash and, Hooray! no problem scroll wheel mouse.

  I miss the function 'button magnifies' with the IBM mouse driver (it also works with the generic mouse when the IBM driver is loaded), but I would lose this function than to lose the scroll wheel and must exit and restart Firefox to retrieve.
