Beep of password for the BIOS boot

Greetings.

Currently, using Compaq Presario V3337TU, I just put the startup password in the BIOS. He invites password every time is (once short) loud beep. It is disturbing the people around me and then, in public places. Currently using the latest version of the BIOS: F.39. Anyway he cut?

Kind regards

Brandon Lee

Hi @TICORP,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I have studied your Compaq Presario V3337TU notebook and not wanting to no sound at the start of the BIOS. Unfortunately if you disable in BIOS your sound will work not on the laptop at all.

Here is a document to restore the BIOS to the previous version.

Hope this helps you.

Thank you.

    Welcome to Alzur.

How to cut the power on password or bios password is easy.

Remove the battery and power supply.

Remove the memory cover. "On the merits".

Remove the memory stick. "If there is."

You should see a label and a piece of plastic tape.

Peel off the tape and you will see CMOS_CLR1.

Use small flat head screwdriver and make contact with the 2 copper looking contacts.

Replace the tape in plastic, memory, memory and battery.

Just tested it and it worked very well.

    Hello

The unknown BIOS password cannot be deleted or removed easily.
The unknown BIOS password can be removed ONLY by a certified maker Toshiba.

To my knowledge, the Satellite M30-742 PSM30E-7100V-EN was released in Europe (probably for the British market)
Then, probably, you should contact the ASP from Toshiba available to the United Kingdom in order to remove the BIOS password.

Here is a link to all Toshiba ASP available worldwide:

  • Spectrum of HP x 360: password for the BIOS default administrator

    I'm doing a BIOS update.

HP support assistant tell me there's an update of the BIOS available. Many attempts to install it all failed. The installation continues for hours and never complete.

I thought that I would like to download the file to update the BIOS on the support site and install it manually. I typed in the serial number of my computer, so the site could identify relevant updates, but this failed with a 'unable to detect"error message.

As a result, I was introduced to three different updates to the BIOS and no way to decide which did not suit my system (two of them have the same date, so goes the latest isn't the problem).

I thought I would go into the BIOS of the computer to see what version is currently there, hoping that would tell me what the update is appropriate. Then asked me a password. I don't know what is the password.

I looked at the manual in the hope of finding a default password. The manual says:

"If the BIOS is protected by an administrator password, enter the password"

Very useful. Enter the password. I would have never thought it. But what is the password or where I can find it?

Note that I never put a password, so there is no chance that it is something other than the default.

    Hello

The last revision of the Bios listed for your laptop is F.32 Rev.A (March 7, 2016) on the following link.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp74501-75000/sp74985.exe

About the bios password, it's a bit confusing - your laptop is listed as a model of consumption, while HP SpareKey is a facility for the books of class business, so maybe I need to think it more

  • What is the password for the BIOS on my Satellite A100-376?

    Hello!

Yesterday I did update the BIOS of my A100-376 Satellite from Toshiba (PSAAR) to version 5, 90 - WIN. Everything is ok, but now when I'am trying to enter the BIOS Setup by pressing F2 at startup, BIOS ask me a password but I don't know what it is because I do not have. What is the problem? Something is wrong? Please help me.

    Thank you!

    Tiago

    Hello

are you sure you didn t set a BIOS password or some of your friends/family? Because it is impossible that an update of the BIOS is setting a password. My friend has a Satellite A100-778, while he did the same update, you did and there is no problem.

Maybe you need to just press 'Enter' when trying to get into the BIOS. Otherwise, I would say do the update again and try to find out who put the password. :)

    Welcome them

  • looking for the BIOS boot disk

Anyone know where I can get a BIOS file for a Pavilion a225c (DF281A) that creates a bootable floppy/CD? The only BIOS file, I have found you have to install Windows, but my problem is preventing me to start Windows.

I could also use a diagnostic boot disk, available on-site diagnostic tests require also Windows installation. If someone is able to point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Test your memory before the flash.

    Hi bigdogsam1.

You try to create the password for the BIOS of your computer? If so, follow the steps provided below:

Restart your computer and press the F2 key for 7 to 10 seconds to access the BIOS Setup.

On the Security menu, press the DOWN ARROW to select set the computer password and press ENTER.

Enter the password in the message box and press ENTER.

Type the same new password to confirm.

  • Satellite M30: How disable the BIOS boot password?

    Hello

Before my vacation, I activated the startup password in the Bios. Now I want to turn this off, but it does not work. In the Bios, I can go to the Security tab, but I can't change the settings with the F5/F6 key or space. A beep is all I get. Entering on this point, I wonder to set a new password.

Anyone know how to disable the password for a Satellite M30? Please note that I have not forgotten my password, I can always start the machine.

    THX,

    Werner.

PS On this forum, I don't see any topic title, only the name of the authors. Is always normal? It is very convenient that way, but maybe it is related to my pc.

    Hello

I found a step by step explanation to clear a BIOS password:

"Turning on the computer from a State"off"with the ESC key. You are asked "password =". "

Enter the password, and then press ENTER. The unit will display: "the valid password is entered, the system starts up. Check the system. Press key (F1). »

Press the F1 key. This will start the device in the BIOS Setup mode.

Using the arrow keys or tab, move to the password field and select REGISTERED.

Press the SPACE bar, enter the password, and then press ENTER. For now, the password field is transformed into NON REGISTERED. »

    Hope this will help you.
    Good bye
