BEFSR41 V3 activate UPnP

I have a problem enabling UPnP on my router BEFSR41 V3. Everytime I try to activate the default administrator password "admin" doesn't work anymore. I have to reset the router to return to the configuration web page. is there a version of the firmware that fixes this problem? I am currently at the level of the firmware 1.05.00. Thank you.

I keep running into this problem too. Did not know what caused
at the beginning, but it is VERY annoying. I didn't have to
Reset my router and reconfigure all my settings, once again, so I
had a look too and found that it affects the password
something weird like LowTek mentions in his post.

For any future reference for anyone else running into this issue
the password it seems always the value seems to be:

d 6 n w 5 v w x 2 d c 7 s t m 9 & # 6 5 5 3 3.

(without the spaces - sorry this forum is not format correctly and it allows no html formatting)

This is regardless of which password has been previously set so it
is it not a form of the old password.

Hope this helps someone.

See you soon,.
Lack of firmness.

  • Activate UPnP doesn't "stick" on BEFSR41

I am listening to music files to my A / V system.

After weeks of facing problems, I discovered that UPnP has been disabled (by default) on the router.

After you have enabled UPnP on the router, bingo... it worked.

My A / V system has a Yamaha A / broadcasting receiver, which is a network capable of net radio receiver and access to / reading files on my PC. Net radio works fine.

The problem I have is that when I stop the A / V receiver, turn on, I can't access the files.

I have to disable UPnP it, save the changes, and then re-enable UPnP, save the changes.

When I do that, everything is fine and my receiver "sees" my PC and your files.

Turn off the receiver, then turn it on, back to a square and have to do the do the routine to toggle again.

PC is Windows XP by using Windows Media Player 11.

Seems the option "Enable" UPnP organizers can't 'stick', even though it shows enabled on the configuration page.

    I'm puzzled.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Thank you.

Found the problem. The challenge was to put "filter multicast" active on my router.
Do that, and so, problem solved!

  • UPnP enabled or disabled?

If you ask the forums safe and almost everybody says it turns off for safety reasons okay now, but if you play games on xbox live and use the port forwarding at each moment one then the router merges and the game displays thos even moderate nat, that the router is already set to open why nat netgear has not set?

Maybe I should try triggering port that's not broken?

Some say simply activate UPnP are but what everybody out there that says no cuz its bad to have on what then?

    using
    V1.0.3.80_1.1.38 firmware version

If you can trust all the devices on your local network, i.e. are sure none will be malicious software that could take advantage of UPnP, then you can activate it, one of the benefits of UPnP are that the ports are open when you use it. Have you tried running with UPnP, does that help?

  • Has lost all contact with BEFSR41 router via network

    Hello

    in this thread: -.

    http://homecommunity.Cisco.com/T5/wired-routers/BEFSR41-v3-activating-UPnP/m-p/101243/highlight/true...

posters describe the problem that the original password is damaged if UPnP is enabled.  A poster gives the password which is replaced in an arbitrary manner, but when I tried (after having the same problem), I couldn't make it work and he had to restore factory settings and repeat the configuration from scratch.

Now, for some reason, I can't do it yet!  "admin/admin" is no longer accepted, and if instead, I try to open the configuration using the Wizard installation CD I get an error message saying "unable to connect...". "and tells me to press the"reset"button (which of course I did, nothing helped).  However, ping the router produces an immediate response with success and my internet access is as before.

Please, what can I do to get out of this endless loop?  There are some configuration changes, I need to do and I can't!

If your router works fine then you don't need a re-flashing the firmware on your router.

As far as disable UPnP is concerned, maybe it's a bug in the firmware.

  • RV220W - UPnP does not work

I am unable to get UPnP to work on the RV220W. Everyone knows a similar problem? I am forced to use port forwarding.

Have you tried to increase the number of jumps of upnp (field "time to" live according to me, is what it shows in the GUI)?  If this isn't the case, increase to 100 or more.  That can eliminate the need to activate upnp power after each reboot.  We found this worked, but only if ipv6/dual-stack has been activated.

    Keep us informed.

  • UPnP search fails when adding Xbox 360 Media Center Extender

First of all, I spent a week looking for a solution to this so if I missed something obvious, I apologize.

My xbox has been connected as a media center extender to this combination of the computer and the router for several months now. The router is a WII-HP-G300NH Buffalo. Earlier this week the media center extender was having video playback problems. After restarting the computer, the Extender was is no longer connected.

When I try to add a new extension unit I get the message "unable to add extender. Microsoft says to activate upnp and multicast. Check. Reflashed firmware dd - wrt. No luck. Back to buffalo firmware. No luck. Try an old Linksys WRT54GL I hang out. No luck.

The event recorder has this error: "Media Center Extender Setup has failed as the Extender has been detected on the network unsuccessfully searching for UPnP for the Extender (timed out after 20000ms)." Event ID: 538

Now, I did everything I could find on the activation of network discovery, anything allowing to access media and these. Network and sharing Center is located about large open. I also tried switching between home and work networks.

That said, I decided to check and see what updates have been installed. It turns out that an update has been applied on the day, that I started to have problems. It is said that it can not be uninstalled. Description Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 installation software item updated

Note: I have no system restore points. Small SSD and has not taken the time to understand how to save elsewhere.

That's all the information I have. I convinced myself that it is not the router via the steps described above and that it is something to do with the computer. Help?

    FIXED.

    Reinstalled NIC drivers.

  • How to set up the PS4 with aircard years 790 and netgear dc112a to get the connection of type 2?

Hi I have the Aircard 790s with Netgear DC112A router card, I tried to connect my PS4 to the router to get a connection of Type 2, but I could not, what I have done is I have my PS4 gave an IP address static, portforwarded all the ports by using the settings in the router menu, (I don't know if I should make the port forward in the menu hotspot and I don't know what I use IP: the IP Address of the router or the period of INVESTIGATION PS4?) , I put my PS4 on DMZ in the router menu, and put the router in DMZ in the menu hotspot, I disabled it Upnp. I get the connection of type 3 on the PS4, what I have to do?

From a conceptual point of view, putting the PS4 in DMZ on the router and the router in DMZ of the hotspot should work. Try to remove all the rules of port forwarding and reboot the router and access point.

There are two other methods to try that might work:

    1. Remove the PS4 DMZ on the router, remove port forwarding rules all and re - activate uPnP on the router. Keep the router in DMZ of the hotspot.
    2. If the card Aircard has IP Passthrough mode, try to activate it. This should ask interface the router WAN receive the public IP address of the Aircard map. This will remove a layer of NAT. Then simply bring the router to work using DMZ or port forwarding and uPnP.

  • R7000 and PS4

    Hello

I R7000 and PS4 and I continued the PS4 in the PSN network disconnection.
I tried to activate UPNP port forwarding and I tried to put the IP address of the PS4 in DMZ without success.
I can play for no more than 5 minutes. After this time, I am disconnected from the PSN network.
If I use my old active router (Asus RT-N66U with the PS4 in DMZ or UPNP) I have no problem.
Can someone suggest me a solution?
    Thanks in advance.

After a few hours of play, it seems that the problem is solved. In the end, I think it was a fault of ps4, in this sense, that if you reset the NET installation when you change the router probably ps4 'rember' something of the old router and the connection became unstable.
I still have the problem of date and hour, yesterday I contacted netgear support, but the solutions they suggested me do not resolve the problem.

    Hi guys/girls,

I recently bought an IX2 on eBay and I can't seem to connect to it.

When I plug it in I have a white power led and HDD LED blue, but after 10 seconds, the white power light turns to a blinking red LED.

    I tried the following:

    • Now the reset with the unit button for 15 seconds
    • Now the reset button for 20 seconds, then while holding down the reset button, I removed the power cord for 15 seconds and then plugged the power back in while holding the button reset for 20 seconds

I downloaded Lenovo EMC storage manager which does not find the device. I tried to plug the device on our network (leading to take down of our case management server and our server for some reason-oops) and also plug directly into a laptop.

I can hear the rotation of the disk and blue HDD LED blinks it seems to read disks ok. I also read somwhere that the first time you turn it can last up to 3 hours to initialize, so I left the next day for the rest of the day, then over night and still nothing.

    2. Activate UPNP detection, click Start, click Help and Support. In the browser, help and support, search UPnP and follow the steps to "install the UPnP infrastructure".
    3. Installed Antamedia DHCP Server and configure a DHCP scope (after a couple of turns and all holding the reset button does not pick up an IP - we are gone for 10 minutes came back and there a) I suggest you re-start the laptop after you configure the DHCP scope to ensure.

  • HP All in One Photosmart C7280 scan issue with Snow Leopard

    Hello

I bought my wife a new cool Mac mini. So it comes with Snow Leopard. We use it for our activities with an HP printer all in one Photosmart C7280. Unfortunately the scanner does not work. I did the mistack to install HP driver from the HP website and read after documentation of the HP Web site (probably like all users). So I decided to completely re-installed the machine (as it was new) and follow the installation procedure for HP who, to say that the pilot is coming up with Snow Leopard. After the new re - install, so I installed 10.6.1 patches and last HP driver from the site Web Apple as mentioned in the forum. (version 2.2)

The printer is correctly detected, but there is no way mak it work the scanner on HP procedures. The scanner is not recognized at all, and the printer configuration window is not appearing the scanning tab as it is supposed to. It seems that the scan part it does not work in one.

We love HP printer and it will be great to see it fixed.

My network configuration is very simple:

-192.168.0.176 is the IP address of the HP printer with 255.255.255.0 netmask

-192.168.0.106 is the MacMini (3.1) IP address mask subnet even

All connected using a router D-Link (5 ports).

Printer/scan function works perfectly on our other Mac systems that are under Leopard. I tried to install Leopard on the new mac mini, but the installation DVD that we have (10.5.4) does not start successfully on the machine. We are so stuck.

    Any help really appreciated

    Jean-Marie

    Hello

Good news, it worked. But I think that the problem came from the D-Link router that I used. Upnp has been set to allow, and it seems he mistook the discovery of the device. I proceed to turn off and the live showed you me overdrawn the printer on the network. I installed it, and the scanner has been recognized.

If I turned my back to Activate Upnp, the scan function is dead. Thus, it probably is a problem of compatibility between the leopard to snow and this Protocol. What is strange, is that our whole system of leopard work with upnp enable or disable.

Anyway thanks a lot for your help!

  • Windows 7 network can't see multiple devices on the network

Hi all.  I'm about to leave my hair on this issue - I hope someone can prevent the horror that would be me without hair.

I am running Windows 7 Home Edition on a personal computer that is connected via cable to a router UVerse also providing my home with wireless services.

A few months ago, I could see - of my PC, network and devices and printers - the two PS3, XBox systems and Samsung TV devices that are connected to my wireless network.  Apparently randomly, my computer has ceased to be able to see these devices.  After trying everything I could think of, I've finally reformatted the system (before Christmas) and everything was good again until last week when my computer stopped once more to see these devices.  I * really * don't want to reformat my system again...

Here are some details on where I started after the last reformat:

The PC is connected to a homegroup.

The PC has a wired connection to the router.  The devices are connected over wireless.

    The firewall is turned on.

    AVG anti-virus has been activated.

Network discovery, file and sharing printers and streaming media are all enabled.

    Password sharing is disabled.

Devices could stream Netflix/Hulu as well as files on my computer (using the PlayOn Server - I've never used WMP).

Now my devices can still Streaming Netflix/Hulu, but not the files on my computer.  The PC can't see the devices and the devices cannot see the PC.

Here is a list of most of the things I've tried to solve (although I've done so many things, I probably don't forget some):

I added the PC to the wireless network, so now that it is connected both cables and wireless.  I even tried to fill these connections, although I removed the bridge when I saw that there was no difference.

I have disabled the firewall completely.

    I disabled the AV entirely.

I switched a residential group to a working network and vice versa.

I gave you the assigned IPs devices in the router configuration.

I've rolled back all the windows updates installed since the last time the devices showed in the PC network.

I've removed the devices on the network, reconnected the and reconfigured to ensure that they have the media streaming (if applicable).

I did several reboots the PC, the router, and devices.

I added the PlayStation Network and XBOX Live and applications hosted under NAT/game on my router.

I have enabled file sharing for devices that use 40 encryption or 56-bit.

    Additional troubleshooting information:

When I try to add a device using the Add Device dialog box, no device never shows.

Under media streaming options, when I look at instruments under all the networks and Local network, no unknown device only shows (even in WMP).  All devices that * show are already set to 'allow '.

If I have access to my router configuration, the devices will appear as connected.

I can ping devices from the PC.

I searched endlessly on the Internet (including other threads on this forum) and have tried all of the suggestions I thought.  The only thing I can't do is activate uPNP on my router because routers Uverse do not offer this option.  However, I don't think that it's important because my PC could see these devices for some time after my last reformat and made no changes to the configuration of the router.

Because multiple and different wireless devices are involved, and because a reformat solves the problem, in my view, it is a Windows problem, but I can't understand what to change on my system to make things work again.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

It's a shame that you have to format the system first and now, the problem still persists. I really appreciate the efforts made to try to resolve the problem. This can be due to any dispute of third party software due to which the connection failed. I suggest you follow the methods below and check.

Method 1: Run the network troubleshooter to diagnose the problem.

    Run the network troubleshooter

Method 2: start the computer in safe mode with network and then perform the clean boot.

Step 1: restart the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem occurs, proceed as in the link:

See: , start your computer in safe mode

Step 2: If the safe mode with network works, perform clean boot and check if any third-party application is causing problem.

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

Method 3: To enable the network devices to display on the network map, they must meet four requirements:

    • Must be a HOME network or work: Mapping network only display the devices connected to a HOME network or WORK location. Devices connected to a network PUBLIC or FIELD cannot be displayed using the network card.
    • Devices must be DETECTABLE: The network discovery setting allows devices to be able to be seen by other devices on the same network. For more information, please consult: , enable or disable network discovery
    • Devices must comply with the LINK LAYER TOPOLOGY DISCOVERY Protocol: Topology Discovery LLTD (Link Layer) is a protocol developed by Microsoft to enable networked devices to 'discover' each other. If a device does not use the LLTD protocol so it can not be displayed in the network map. Windows 7 computers have the LLTD protocol implemented.
    • LLTD must be enabled on your LAN connection properties: The Link Layer Topology Discovery Mapper of e/s driver and the Link Layer Topology Discovery responder must be enabled on your local area connections properties panel.

To check LLTD is enabled, you can refer to the following steps:

    a. Select open network and sharing Center by clicking on the icon of your network down to the right of your task bar:

    b. now, click connect to the Local network

    c. now, click on Properties

    d. ensure that two LLTD options below are selected (by default, these options are still enabled in Windows 7).

From now to try the methods above and let us know the status. We will be happy to help you further.
