Behavior strange screen/video Satellite Pro P100-109

I have a strange problem with my Satellite Pro (P100-109 model pspa3e 00n009du). I edge video card printing is letting me down, so if anyone has a solution so please help!

Yesterday, while working properly since I bought the machine, I had a strange video behavior. Black icon arround windows not updated correctly etc.
After a restart of the system, these problems seemed resolved, but it lasted just a view minutes.
After awhile, I got a blue screen (BCCode: ea BCP1...) BCP4:00000001 SP: 2.0) learned Internet research that his had to do with the video driver.

Symptoms of the display:
-Vertical dotted lines shown on the screen of the bios toshiba (variety of colors)
-Loading of Windows show a few vertical lines as well
-After loading the clickable elements appear black (not titles of window - no buttons shown/rendering)
-L' screen goes black every 4 seconds
-System responds very slowly, but sometimes it seems that it works normally
-mouse disappears
-After awhile that I get a black screen, system does not answer more.
-In windows safe mode (so do not using the nvidia drivers), the display seems to work normally

DID the next trying to solve my problem in vain:

-J' I uninstalled/removed the nvidia drivers and installed the last on the toshiba site.
-Deletion of original and installed drivers drivers Guru3D site (also used the Driverutility from the same site).
-J' I uninstalled/removed the nvidia drivers and installed the original
-Upgrade to SP3

Uninstalling the driver (in safe mode) and so to use a generic driver only seem to work.

Anyone know how this can be resolved or are these signs that the nVidia GeForce Go 7900 has been roasted.

Hello

Long story. short answer...

It is really possible that your GPU chip malfunctions.

I came to this conclusion because the laptop don t symptoms occur if the graphics driver is not installed.
If the graphics card driver is installed the graphics card would go with the best performance and possibly graph questions would appear once again.

I think that you can't do anything to what might solve this problem outside to contact the ASP in your country and ask for help.

Good luck

    Hello
I have a Satellite Pro P100 which is only 21 months old and have recently acquired a white strip to the bottom of my screen which is located near Center. I looked into the possible solutions for this and followed the instructions carefully to see if it was a software problem which he seems not to be. The only possible solution seems to be to get the screen replaced. I would like to know if there are many of you who have had this same problem because I'm disgusted that I need to get this replaced so early in his life.

I don't even use my phone as a laptop (IE it transport etc.) it is simply sitting on my desk at home. I just checked my warranty and apparently it was submitted only for 12 months! Just my luck!

If anyone has any suggestions on how to best to argue my case with Toshiba in get this replaced for free then the answers are welcome.

    See you soon,.

    > Only possible solution seems to be to get the screen replaced

Either it's a display or the fault of the graphics card!
You can try to connect the external monitor to test if the same would appear on the second monitor.
If the question seems not on the external monitor then it s not a graphics card issue but possible display of the laptop problem.
In this case, the authorized service provider should be able to provide more details and how to fix it.

  • Satellite Pro P100-109 is very slow for burning a DVD

    Hello

I'm trying to copy a DVD movie with the pre-installed software RecordNow! but it takes a lot of time.
Something like 40 minutes to copy the DVD to the HD and more than an hour to burn the DVD-R.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

Do you want to copy the original DVD?
These DVD is usually protected against copying and it's not easy to create a copy of this DVD.

Furthermore the original DVD movies are larger than a DVD 4.7 GB common and, therefore, it of needed to reduce this film.

Then wonder that you use the RecordNow! to copy a DVD movie.

Google a bit and you should find more info and details how to reduce the original common DVD 4.7 GB movie

Toshiba there perhaps the keys to spare for us?

    Hello

    (1) it is very strange because the satellite Pro P100 was equipped Gbit Lan card and you should be able to use it. I think there could be some bad LAN setting in Lan Card Properties. Check it! You can access it in the Device Manager-> ECS-> Lan card-> properties. It is then a new window and you will find the different tabs. Here check the Advanced tab

    (2) what to say, Toshiba seems different designs for laptop series with different hardware configurations. Your P100 was not equipped with the internal mic. This is why you must use an external mic.

    (3) sorry, buddy, but I do not agree with you.
This isn't a hardware problem. You use the keyboard language settings simply false. Yes! It s a matter of adjustment.
I assume that you use the English (United Kingdom) and non-English (United States).

    Check it out

  • Satellite Pro P100-188: screen keeps blinking on and off at random intervals tension

If anyone can help me with my computer so please PLEASE publish it because I have no idea of what is happening to her.

I just bought a new laptop, a Toshiba Satellite Pro P100 - 188 Dual Core and I'm having a problem with it. Sometimes (not all the time) if the computer is plugged in or not, the screen flashes and repeatedly and then will slow down and its suspicious home.

I have no idea what's wrong with it, I sent it to the store where I bought to be fixed and they just he sent to me, but the problem persisted. They say they have done tests on the machine and can't find anything wrong with it, but if that were the case, then it only would not have messed up again.

What is just a software problem? The screen seems to flicker on and off at intervals irregular or not I'm in the middle of using it or not. All the drivers are the latest drivers and I admit now that I'm at my wits end.
    Any thoughts, anyone?

    Hello

This seems very odd. However, you posted that this problem happens sometimes and not all the time.
In my opinion I n t think that the software could be responsible for this issue.
Perhaps one loses the connection cable? But believe me; It's not easy to say what's wrong without diagnostic tests.
You have suggested that you have sent the unit to the store.

I recommend you contact Toshiba service partner in your country. Technicians must check the laptop.

  • Satellite Pro P100 - screen and sound problems after upgrade to Windows 7

    Hi all

I got my Satellite Pro P100 (model number is PSPAEE-00C006EN and the second digit of the serial number is '7') upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, and since then, some bugs seem to have had place - can someone help me on the following:

-L' screen DIMS increments, irrespective of the fact that I have saved my power settings to stay on FULL (battery or sector)

-No sound. Once or twice, the sound card worked and settings to say this works correctly (and you can see the movement of the graphic equalizer).
In terms of PC knowledge, I would be 5/10 (so not a dummy, but certainly not a pro! and we tried a lot of the more obvious things)

    Thank you all

    Hello

1.) if the screen dim option doesn't properly work, I recommend you to reinstall Toshiba Value added Package. This package controls these functions, the keys FN and others. Visit the Toshiba page for an update!

2.) did you check if the sound is muted if the equalizer work? In addition you can also try to update the audio driver might it work ;)

  • Satellite Pro P100 PSPAEE guard screen goes white/black

I have a Satellite Pro P100-PSPAEE running Vista Ultimate. Recently, the screen started going black and white during the day. It does not seem to be asleep like nothing refreshes the screen. All I can do is hold the power button and restart the laptop. Have tried rash, the compressed air fan and have re - configure the minimum processor power management to 100%. Am still getting the problem everyone else encountered this problem and have you found a solution, I would prefer not to have to open the laptop and play with the heat sink.

Don't you think that this problem could be related to problems of overheating?
Eventually it s only a software problem

So try first update the graphics driver and BIOS!

One question; have you noticed the same issue using the preinstalled operating system from Toshiba?

    Hi guys,.

I have a problem that I think has been there since I upgraded my Satellite Pro P100-327 XP to vista Business.
At the start, I have more no Visual on the screen until I see the windows logo. Computer works fine otherwise.

Now a year and a half later I want to load Windows 7 and I can't see the bios screen. F12, F2 or esc. do not help me even if the computer does not stall but I do not see on the screen. I have the latest version of the bios and the nvidia drivers as far as I know.

The only thing that I did not understand everything is the 'value added package' I think it's the small "HW" program, I downloaded the latest version and clicked on load HW in the control panel. Windows has asked if I wanted to go forward and I saw nothing else after that.

thaks a lot if anyone can help

    Hello

For me, this looks like a problem of monitor settings but I don't know m.
You are using an external monitor or have you changed the monitoring (from simple to double mode) mode?

In your case, I could connect an external monitor and see what happens. Have you noticed the same problem on external monitor?

In the worst case, there is something wrong with the internal display, but this should be verified by a technician of the laptop.

  • Blue boxes and Bluescreens when you feed up to Satellite Pro P100-438

    Hello

I own a Pro Satellite P-100-438 (PSPAHE - 001001GR). Yesterday, I tried to start a game, and shortly after, he froze, showed strange bluish rectangles and then a screen blue, followed by a reset.

Then the screen was full of blue shaded boxes in the nature of a grid as a layer of perfect finish. Even the start screen "Toshiba - contact tomorrow" has this box-grid layer.
From the login screen Vistas should appear, there is an another bluescreen: 0 x 00000050 Page Fault In Non-Paged area.

Now, I can only start the computer in safe mode.

I tried to restore the last configuration of windows work but that did not help. I tried to remove the display so drivers and fiddled with the parameter of startup in msconfig and at one point, I was actually able to get Vista running as usual without the blue boxes, but after awhile, I got another blue screen and since then, they have remained.

    Sometimes, there is an another screenshot as well: 0 x 00000116. nvlddmkm.sys - address 8C8149A0 base at 8 808000, DateStamp 4a9cdd24

And he said something 'Attempt to reset display driver and recover timeout failed.' as well.

    See these screenshots:

    Any tips or suggestions?

    Best regards

    Hi again,

last night I checked if the problem might be related to overheating. But now I think that's not the problem. I removed some dust, but it wasn't really much. Accidents still happen.

Regarding the graphics bugs: this is the kind of a grid of blue boxes. But this isn't a perfect grid. Only a grid on the screen. I have a photo I will upload tomorrow. When I move the windows under the grate, it stays in place. Everything as it was somehow in the surface of the screen.

Maybe if the graphics card is broken? It is not the RAM. I removed one at a time, and it is not related to it.

Somehow check whether the graphics card? It's a Geforce Go 7900 GS.

The laptop is a Satellite Pro P100-438 (PSPAHE - 001001GR).

If I bought a replacement graphics card, might be able to buy a better? They're much cheaper than three years ago. Or which would mean too much consumption and amount of heat energy?

What are the cards would work?

    Best regards

    Daniel

  • Satellite Pro P100 - cable had burned down due to a faulty graphics card

    Hello
I have a problem with my Satellite Pro P100 where to win t start, including trying to restart without the battery.

I took it for repairers who managed to get it working again. They said a cable leading to the screen had to be replaced with requiring a General Service Officer, as it has been clogged up with dust.

However once I got it home it works ok, but when I tried to access the options for Nvidia graphics display an error message came upward, which suggests that I have maybe need to install a driver of cassis, which I did immediately and restart the computer the problem has reappeared, computer wouldn't boot.
I brought for repairs for the second time and they said the cable had burned down again because of a faulty graphics card and would cost a lot to replace.

If someone has had this problem, it is possible to have just the graphics card replaced without replacing the motherboard and it is likely that the motherboard is too damaged.

You will appreciate all the comments/tips

Strange, but I think that there is no other way to replace the motherboard.
The graphic card it s soldered on the motherboard if the entire motherboard must be exchanged.

I know that's not good news for you buddy but if the graphics card is faulty, it should be replaced. :(

  • Satellite Pro P100-438 game stuttering

    Hello world

I bought a Satellite Pro P100-438 (PSPAHE - 001001GR) with 2 GB of RAM in May 2007. I really took my time choosing the right laptop and the card game and the comments that I thought that it would be exactly what I wanted. As he had a numeric keypad, which is a must for me. I knew all the articles indicating that Vista would be detrimental to the performance, but I was willing to wait six months for driver issues and others to be decided. And a weaker performance in regards to a lower rate would not have been a problem.

Here again the stats of the platform:

    Core 2 Duo T5500 2 x 1.66 GHz - 2 GB RAM - 160 GB HD - DVD +/-RW DL - NVidia GeForce Go 7900 512 MB - USB 802.11abg 2.0/FireWire/Modem/LAN/WLAN / Bluetooth - DVI - 5 in 1 card reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS Pro/xD) - 17 "WXGA + (1440 x 900) TFT - Windows Vista Edition Family Premium Li-Ion-battery - 3,20 kg

Now the problem is that all the 3D games (such as BioShock or the by now old Deus Ex - Invisible war) stutter. The performance seems to be all right, rates are usually fantastic even with the highest settings, but there are approximately every 3 seconds a stutter. Reduction of the graphics settings is not to solve the problem.

There seems to be a lot of people with similar problems with this all-3-second-stuttering around. Usually, I'm really good at 'fix' these problems with my computers. It usually includes surfing the forums, try many drivers video, drivers modded, installation of patches or just waiting for a solution from the manufacturer. ;)

Nothing has solved the problem so far. Here is what I tried:

-Different drivers: those most recent Tosiba March (which is pathetic!) to the most recent available at www.laptopvideo2go.com
-Different audio drivers for the Conexant Audio device high definition. They screw out of speakers and output, so I had to go back to drivers of Toshiba.
-Vista updates: all the patches that are recommended in various forums and any other vista automatically updated
-DirectX 9 .0c updates. Some said this could help because my card does not support DX10 and therefore should use DX9. Makes sense to me. DX10 seems to graphics engine so advanced being of the same Vista does not use it. Well, it was without success.
-BIOS update. I got stuttering with the preinstalled BIOS and now I use the newest one which is 4.00 for my laptop. Did not help.
-Disabling Vista Aero. Do not remove the stuttering, but gave a better framerate. But 100 fps or 105 fps was not the issue.

Some people say installation XP would solve the problem, but it is not a viable option for me since I don't own a Windows XP license.

Now I can't think of another solution, and honestly I think that it is not my task to arrive at a solution. I spent about 1400 Euro on the laptop and I would like to have is a decent customer service and the problem resolved. And if Toshiba is not able to solve it they should at least be able to point the finger the cause of the problem. Right?

But now I still have some hope left. Maybe someone reading this found the solution to my problem and can give me a hint, because I'm always willing to try some suggestions. :)

    Can anyone help?

I think the problem is that the NVidia GeForce Go 7900 does not support the new DirectX10 but only the DirectX9.
The Vista operating system supports the new feature of DirectX10 and there might be a problem with the connection between Vista and Nvidia!

I noticed that this problem occurs only play games designed for Direct10X.

Like all the people here in the forum says, this strange game stuttering does not appear with XP installed.

    > Some people say installation XP would solve the problem, but it is not a viable option for me since I don't own a Windows XP license.
I really put t see any other possibility to get rid of this problem install XP! As already mentioned it's nothing wrong with the laptop but with the Vista OS.

By the way; Have you tried to use the latest graphic on sites like; drivers

    Check this box

  • Satellite Pro P100 - 11(d) crashed and Linux does not load

    Hello.

I have a Satellite Pro P100 - 11(d) which have worked well since 2007 both with preinstalled Windows and Ubuntu last.

But... Yesterday, Firefox crashes, I thought, but after the restart it was not able to load Ubuntu desktop, comes from a command prompt.

I tried to reinstall the driver and xserver with no luck.
Tried to reinstall Ubuntu together, but it stops while loading of Ubuntu live.

Thought maybe, a hard drive crash so I want to wipe the entire hard drive and so reinstalled Windows, which wouldn't load after installation. Changed the hard drive to a WD250GB, but always the same - stop loading live Ubuntu and Debian and Meego...

Has a verified memory from the live USB of Ubuntu (before loading Ubuntu), no errors.
I have an idea that maybe the graphics, but it has no errors or defects to display install screens - graphics.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Oh, I had Ubuntu while loading, try checking the hard drive and what makes some mistakes, why I thought it might be a hard drive problem.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

    What about another system? Windows?
Can you start and install Windows system using the Toshiba Recovery disk?

Generally speaking, it is not easy to say what has caused this problem
It may be related to no hardware, a part even if the HARD drive or memory error was not detected, one of these parties may malfunction
Worst case its something wrong with the motherboard but it s only a hypothesis.

  • Satellite Pro P100 Question on software pre-installed

I bought a Toshiba laptop in July and although I am very happy with the machine.

I'm very upset that he came with very little software that I expected at least MS works or similar for a professional laptop, but there is nothing (no spreadsheet, text or data processing)

After spending more than £1,000. I'm a little annoyed - don't know if it's a world of Toshiba or PC Business (people, I bought it from) error.

One of my colleagues bought a laptop the week £600 last and which have very many useful software pre-installation.

    Hello

You talk about the Satellite Pro P100 PSPA4E series?

If you really this machine then I put t agree with you!
To my knowledge of many tools and utilities and additional programs have been installed on this laptop.
    Maybe a small list?
    Here you are:
    -Office OneNote2003
    -TOSHIBA utilities
    -WinDVD
    -Platinum WinDVD Creator2
    -Sonic DLA
    -Symantec Norton AntiVirus 2006
    -PC Diagnostic tool
    -Etc.

Please note that the software package Microsoft Office OneNote offers several useful simple programs!

May I ask why you compare one satellite Pro P100 with other laptops who don t support the same processor, the graphics card performance and additional features?

From my personal experience of many manufacturers of laptop while customers with software pre-installed because that the performance of the laptop or simple parts (graphics card, HARD drive, memory IE) are not approximately the same mostly.

Last but not least; I put t really understand why you're a little annoyed.
Why you didn t check the laptop and the description?

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 940MW LCD TV and a Satellite Pro P100 (Geforce Go 7600), recently I bought a DVI - D cable to link them together.

    Hello

I hope that you have enabled user s manual supplied with your device. On page 148, you will find a very interesting picture on the supported display resolution.

I have to be honest with you and say that I am no expert DVI because my LCD doesn't have this port, just HDMI but if I have understood you as soon as you have problem with a resolution of 1440 x 900 only. This resolution is not listed as supported, and I presume that it is not unusual to have a problem.

Sorry, but I think that you should use maximum supported only resolution 1280 x 1024.
