  You get the error code is caused by an error in the firmware of the printer. In this case, it's not much, you can do. The document below the link a few things you can try. If this does not work, you will need to replace the printer.

  Follow the steps below and let me know what happens?

  First step: clear temp directory

  1. Type %temp% term or search programs and files of field
  2. Select all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to remove. If you receive a message that the file is in use, you will need to ignore this file (s).
  3. Proceed to step 2 below

  Second step: downloaded and extracted to your system:

  1 download the drivers and full software features

  2. once the download is complete, double-click the file to extract the software.

  3. when the installation window opens, press the Cancel button to stop the installation

  4. tap folder in the race or search programs and files of field

  5. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356)

  6. right click on the folder and select copy

  7. close this window and all open windows, and then in the Middle the desktop right click your mouse and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder on your desktop.

  8 open the 7z, that you just copied on your desktop

  9 open the Util folder

  10 open the CCC folder

  11 start the uninstall_L4

  12. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer

  13. run disk cleanup from the tools Accessories\ system under all programs folder

  14. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

  15 open the 7z folder and then double-click the Setup.exe file that will be towards the bottom of the open window. Follow the instructions on the screen to reinstall your printer.

  I get an Error Message for my printer HP C6180 age of 7 years: EVIL of CARTRIDGES... Use the introductory cartridges that were shipped with your device. Yes well! He is seven years old. These cartridges are long gone... and no one does... I mean that nobody has the answer on how to solve this problem. I confess that I used ink ink farm.com (good valve and it is working great int the past). HP said... because I did not use their ink it touch the print head. Totally unfair!  Why you would design a unit fully operational to recognize ink is not original and then close.  Oh... I remember... 101 economy... It's called Obsolecence of Design!

  I spent $40,00 on the farm of ink... ink then went and has spent another $100 + on Original HP ink Sams Club (got Xl ink) and it still does not work. I called Hp, and although the technology was friendly and understanding... they have not a clue. You have to be kidding me. I went to Sams Club and bought a new HP 6700 Officejet for $114,00... it is up and works fine... but work once beautifully C6180 is now sitting in the trash... and I'm stuck with a value of $150.00 of ink unused... After spending a whole day, at this point leave it outside in this forum. Thank you HP. I really wouldn't buy another HP printer, but I'll let the lesson be: only use original ink manufacturing. ... I think that the cost of it is... A SCAM! JUST VENTILATION!

  It seems that other users have found a way to completely reset the printer back to the default settings, which can help with this question.

  The reset is discussed in this forum thread and seems to be a bit difficult to fill. Let me know if it helps to solve your problem.

  I suggest you to uninstall the printer drivers and then use the driver file that you want to install by using the procedure - below

  a. click Start, click Control Panel , and search for printers , and then double-click Printers.
  b. now, click Add Printer.
  c. Select Add a local printer and click create a new port.
  d. Select Local Port and click Next.
  e. type in "[\\computer name\printer name]"(sans les guillemets) for the Port name and click OK. ""
  f. follow the instructions to complete the installation. During the installation, when you are prompted to choose a good driver; Click the "disk".
  g. navigate to the driver file that you have on the computer, and then click OK. Now, check if the printer is correctly installed.

  To activate the scan of the computer, see the procedure below:

  Restart devices and check the settings of scanning driver

  Restart the computer and the printer can restore the connection scan options analysis, and then check the settings for scanning on the Mac.

  1. Turn the printer off.

  2. Make sure that the printer power cord connects directly to an electrical outlet and not by a limiter the power strip or surge protector.

  3. Close all programs currently running on your computer, and then shut down the computer.

  4. Turn on the printer.

  5. Turn on the computer.

  6. On the desktop, double-click Macintosh HD, click Applications, click the Hewlett-Packard or HP folder, and then double-click the HP utility.

     NOTE: If the HP utility is not in the folder, go to the step install the software for your printer HP.

  7. Under scan settings, click Scan of the computer, and then make sure the enable scanning to computer checkbox is selected.

  8. Try to scan.

  If the error persists, proceed to the next step.
