Big load on R100 CPU

My problem is that when you run certain programs in WinXPSpx, which is Manager of the tasks, the CPU load is about 30% and the mouse "chops". It is similarly in the Firefox web browser: when loading new web pages, the CPU load is very high and the mouse stops momentarily. I feel that this problem is related to the video card...

I tried to update the video, Manager of power, BIOS drivers but nothing works.

Hi swallin

I had the same problem, especially if I used the Firefox internet browser. In the power management of the CPU, its use has been set to automatic. Now I have implemented and is now much better.

Have you ever tried this option?

    Hello!

    Everyone knows about this problem?
My Portege R100 after installing the new copy of Windows XP and directly after the installation of the display driver, Trident (reboot) bizarre behavior.

Welcome screen goes white on the lower part (when the first yellow line is). Then I have some software problems.

When to start records search engine, when I update the list of wireless networks and I explore the files by clicking on 'My computer', (this does not happen when I right click on START and 'Explore') displays CPU usage 100% and everything is so slow that I can barely move a cursor.

Everything goes back to normal once I closed above applications.
I can install all drivers and all right, but after Trident display it is bad.

This is the driver I use since I bought the laptop, I do not know that is fine.
I installed it several times before and I have a few copies of it, which I've already tried so it must be good.

The cross thing only my mind is a hardware failure.
Someone of you knows than before?

    Thank you...

It has nothing to do with your computer - this is the trident driver problem - there is a work - around
    Try changing your display configuration-

    (1) right click on your mouse to the desktop to bring up the display property, and then click Advanced - here, you will see a tab say somethng like 'graphic acceleration.
    (2) reduce the rate of acceleration - move the tab to the left - make sure it is not full
    (3) this trident driver can cause the BONE to redraw the screen whenever you move your mouse with some applications

If my post is not detail for you
Try google with the keyword "how to turn off the graphics acceleration in windows xp" - you will get some good instructions

    That will solve your problem!

Good luck and enjoy your nice laptop!

    Hello

Foobar2000 is unknown to me and have no experience with this tool, but it is clear to me.
You said that the CPU goes up to 100% when running this tool.

Well, this tool is responsible for the use of the CPU! Why? I put t know.
Maybe you should contact the manufacture of this software for more details!

  • CPU Maximum frequency never exceeds 31%, even under load.

Windows 7 x 64 runing. Brand new X 220, less than 24 hours old. All windows updates have been applied, etc.

Power settings Windows resource monitor reports that the maximum frequency of the processor is 31%, regardless. I plugged on current alternative and have set the profile for maximum performance. I am running Prime95 on all four cores. No effect.

CPU - ID confirms it, the speed of the CPU to ~ 790 Mhz whatever the load on the CPU of the declaration.

I searched google and the forums and found a thread on the R/L series forum where people have had the cpu, the opposite problem was always running at max frequency: here it seems that their cause was raised by staff. It worries me...

Looks like speedstep does not work in win7x64

Is it just a display issue or is the CPU without limitation correctly?

    Thanks for any help.

The adapter using my old thinkpad 90W CA solves the problem. The simultaneous use of the dough and the 60W also solves.

Apparently, my initial forum search wasn't very good, I found a close a few pages on the forums theme that connects to a long debate which essentially suggested these two things.

  • Upgrade CPU on Satellite Pro series - Impossible?

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro with a deleted warranty and I'm always happy with the speed of my CPU. Again a year from now I know I won't and I'm anticipating a CPU upgrade (after the upgrade of RAM and HARD drive) at this time. Some would say "sell & buy new", this approach will be more expensive because nobody wants to buy a laptop obsolete, but new compatible spare parts will become much cheaper...

After saying that & after reading a lot of 'IMPOSSIBLE' in this forum discussion, I'm almost certain this type of upgrade because my laptop has big brothers with the CPU, I would like to upgrade. There are also many sellers of "repair" off market where I can learn exactly what to do or what not to do. I'm not inexperienced because I deal with several desktop PC repairs & etc. of mine & my friends...

Having said all that, I wonder if it is STILL IMPOSSIBLE to upgrade a processor in my laptop? I know the risks, but I wasn't expecting that it would be a lot harder from examples of PC desktop. I don't think that incompatibility of CPU (pine, heat etc.) will be a problem since there bro as I said & I also manually checked all other requirements, such as the dissipation of heat, chipset compat. & etc...

Yet, I read something about "microcode" and the incompatibility of the BIOS. Here's the same thing? Given the new processor in its series does not guarantee BIOS compat. ?

That's all from me. All comments and suggestions are welcome as long as they came with an explanation. (written 'No you can't' without cause will not help at all)

    Thank you...

    > I know the risks, but I wasn't expecting that it would be a lot harder from examples of PC desktop.
Of course, the CPU upgrade is much trickier as an upgrade of CPU on the desktop PC.

If you want to upgrade the CPU, you should know...

-How to disassemble the laptop and remove all the covers and parts without damaging other laptop parts
-If the CPU is not soldered onto the motherboard and can be removed on a simple passerby
-If the BIOS can handle the new processor and fan table that stored in the BIOS would provide consistent settings for cooling the CPU properly.
-If the chipset is compatible and supports the new processor
-If the firmware needs to be updated (only by an ASP) because the wrong info of the DMI will not allow UC to perform with maximum efficiency.
-If the laptop will run stable after the CPU upgrade for the new processor is pleased to produce more heat.

As you can see the upgrade is not easy and certainly not possible.

  • Satellite A300-1ED - upgrade CPU of PDC to C2D

    Hi all
Small question. I still have six months toshiba warranty on my A300-1ED. laptop is very good. Never fail. But it lacks performance so I want to upgrade my PDC T2390 to some C2D processor.
Tell me what model of C2D my A300-1ED runs (card mother and bios)? T7500? T5750? Frequency FSB? 667 or 800?

Someone at - he do it before?

    Thanks for all the tips!

    Hello

First of all, you will lose the warranty if you would disassemble the laptop!
This should be clear to you.

Then there is no guarantee that your laptop would go well and stable after this upgrade the CPU.
I m thinking about issues of compatibility between the processor and BIOS since the BIOS was pretested with the other processors.

However, I have read some threads here on the CPU upgrade and some users do that
Seems that some laptops run without any big problems after upgrade CPU, but I think it's not consistent for all series

  • Can I upgrade my CPU now?

    Hey everybody:

I think the upgrade of my compact dc7800 mini tower CPU of the current E4500 @ 2.20 GHz, for an E8500 3.16 GHz

These chips are only $15, should I do it?

(I already use graphics Radeon HD 6570 and 4 GB of DDR2 RAM at 333 MHz)

The E8600 are twice the price to about $30

Obviously, the only reason that I bring up the price of a $15 difference is because MONEY IS TIGHT RIGHT now.

Apart from the slightly higher clock speed 3.33 GHz of E8600 against 3.13 GHz of the E8500, are there other benefits to E8600 on the E8500?

My son uses this machine to the game and I use it for photoshop / lightroom.

For the current hardware Windows experience index:

    Base score: 5.5

    Processor: Calculations per second: 5.5

Memory (RAM): Operations per second memory: 5.5

Graphics card: Desktop for Windows Aero performance: 6.7

Graphics card: 3D Business and graphics of games: 6.7

Primary hard disk: disk data transfer rate: 5.8

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    You are the very welcome.

If you can replace two chips 1 GB with 2 of 2 GB chips, you will have at least 6 GB.

It will not change the speed of the memory, but at least you'd be to halfway there at maxing out at 8 GB memory PC2-6400.

Memory will run at the slower speed of any one piece in there, so even if the two would be 800 MHz, they will work 667 MHz and 2 x 1 GB PC2-5300 chips.

Yes, I don't know what it is with upgrades the processor I did.

I have updated many of the processor socket 478 Pentium smoothly.

I read a lot of "how to" tips for installing an LGA 775 processor and how to properly apply thermal paste.

I tried different ways to apply the paste.  Grain size of the rice, X model, pea size...  Puree and slightly twisted the heatsink to spread in the dough.  Cleaned thoroughly heat surfaces with lint free wipes and 70% isopropyl alcohol... everything.

The PC went very well, but if you have run windows experience index test, or put a load on the CPU, the fan would go into orbit!   They had run fine until I got my hands on them.

I was upset because there was a large increase in performance, whenever I changed the Pentium 4 630 in the dc7600 to Pentium D 945.  But I like a nice quiet PC, and the fan must have kept idle during these processes.

If you are not comfortable to upgrade the processor and you can hang 2 x 2 GB PC2 - 6400 chip memory for $30, I would go that route.

I bought 4 of them... Excellent work.

  • Windows Media Player network sharing using 33% CPU resources

Network Media Media Player sharing module chew cpu

I have a problem to use cpu similar to others on the use of the CPU window media player.  I used process Explorer tool and concluded that the wmpnetwk process was continulally with 33% of the resources of my CPU, even when the media player is started.  Media player itrself use about 20-22% cpu when it is open and put a media is underway, which is all the time. MY PC has a CPU triple heart so it is a pretty big piece of the CPU!   I tried all of the fixes suggested without result.  It is perhaps a more unique problem.  I've upgraded to Windows 7 64 vista premium 64 premium, but not to install a clean (delete all).  Found a number of problems related to the user's requests and reinstalled them.  As media player and media center are part of the operating system apparently I can't do that for them.  This JUST started happening.  Is it possible the update did something?  Also, I have a laptop with windows 7 preinstalled and won't have the same problem.  I look at this turning point multimedia and Media Player off and setting adobe media player as my default until someone can come to a better suggestion.

Quick update.  Player use and cpu just off center media and the media is back at a low level.  Remains to be seen.  Why wmpnetwk use so much cpu?

In fact, I found that my step can be a little higher and quite tedious.

You can actually do the following which allows to save time! Wmplayer.exe is responsible for managing the shared library, wmpnetwk.exe share this library on the network(Please correct me if I'm wrong here)

    1. Open Windows Media Player and remove all monitored folders and close Windows Media Player (for me Windows Media Player became unresponsive after he consumed more than 300 MB, so I closed it by force), open it again with an eye on the Windows Media Player (wmplayer.exe) process to ensure that the CPU is acceptable.
    2. Add a tracking of file in Windows Media Player.
    3. When the dialog box opens showing the progress of the files added to the library, keep an eye so it gets stuck for a long time (about 2-5 min +, normally, you will find that the memory usage begins to boost quickly) and take a note which folder/sub-folder it got stuck on. (It is a good indicator that a file in this folder may be corrupted), if the dialogue ends while watched folder has no problem.
    4. If there is a problem with step 3, close the dialog progress, remove this folder monitored, close Windows Media Player and move half the files in this folder that you noted to another folder not monitored . Repeat steps 2 through 4 until the watched folder performs its search.
    5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 until you have added all the files in Windows Media Player.

I don't know why there no code in windows media player to check if corrupted files, but it is definitely a leak memory in the application and I hope this will be corrected my Microsoft soon!

  • High utiization cpu IPS module

I have two firewalls Cisco ASA5540X with IPS modules configured in a failover pair.

Behind this pair Firewall (inside) is about 140 guests who use various web applications, minimal Internet, e-mail (host maybe 10) and a few small sharing/file access

My IPS is configured for online analysis, but I noticed that the processor works 100% all the time (6 cores). Given that I don't want any circumvention traffic IPS, my firewall configuration looks like this

ips_traffic of access allowed any ip an extended list

ips_traffic list extended access udp allowed a whole

    class-map ips_class

corresponds to the ips_traffic access list

    Policy-map global_policy

    class ips_class

    IPS inline help

Why is such high usage on the IPS? What can I do here?

    Hello

Although not an expert in this particular field, I installed a handful of them and each of them took one load CPU 100%, I was told by our support load of the CPU on an IPS is very inaccurate way to determine the load, it is preferable to use the inspection processing load.

After more digging, I found this - the issue is addressed in this bug - CSCtl74475

  • Windows 7 RAM and CPU problem

Last week, I was playing League of legends and I was in the middle of a match, during the match, the client is crushed and restart windows because he had needed updating. After the update, I open League of legends to start my computer. And it took like 10 minutes usually, it takes about 30 seconds. Then when I've finally got back in the game you the fps went from 60 (before the update) to 12 (after the update). So I decided to look at the Task Manager, and it took up to 99% of the CPU. I reinstalled the game, the FPS was always the same, but he was faster. I tried to open my browser google chrome, it took a good 2 minutes. The CPU and ram, however, was very good. So I opened up a little more of my games and they are starting to take a lot of memory and CPU. I ran my full analysis of the 360 North, no viruses. I've done sfc/scannow, nothing wrong. I think scvhost programs might be the problem because when I analyze wait chain on my programs that take up a lot ran and CPU it is still a program scvhost in there. Help me please, this update of windows did the damage.

    Hello

You can try to follow the following suggestions to solve the problem.

Measures to reduce the use of CPU.

1 - Press 'Ctrl', 'Shift', 'Esc' on your keyboard. This opens the task without any intermediate screen Manager.

2 - Click on the "process" button in the Task Manager.

3 - Click the "CPU" column heading up to what the arrow next to the label down points.

4-click on a program you recognize who is using a high percentage of the CPU and click ' end process.» Click on "complete the process"reconfirm.» This facilitates upward on the load of the CPU. Use this step if you are not using a process, or the process is not responding. Do not use this procedure for windows processes.

  • __Why my CPU is overloaded?

I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate edition 32-bit version. I also added a new SATA drive and a new floppy drive (he needed for a specific job). It took days to get the SATA drive works properly but it seems fine now.

My problem: also often only once per minute goes to 100% CPU usage. At that time, everything hangs and I have to sit and wait for some of the CPU to clear. I've not timed, but the wait is about 1-2 minutes. It happens seemingly randomly, and it happens a lot.

I watched the process tab of the Task Manager and a counter of CPU screen on (gadgets). Only two process never go high.  One is a game. The other is something called "system idle process". I don't know what is, or what he does.

Now, I look at the process in the Task Manager. To add to the confusion, the system idle process is up to 97, but the CPU usage has remained at 1-4%.

Can someone give me know how to track down the cause? Please, I beg you!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello!

There are a number of reasons why a particular process can cause this type of overload. To get the right idea about your problem, please provide us with the configuration of your computer. Second, if possible, please get Hijackthis on bing and download the application. IT will generate a log file, please copy and paste the log here, so that we can analyse the issue.

Second: The system idle process is something that you must not care, it causes no overhead on your system. Just by checking the task for programs/applications Manager causes the load on your CPU, make sure you check the box at the bottom that says see the processes from all users. Now that you mentioned a game (please call), other that try to start in safe mode by press F8 to start the system and select Safe mode, and then note if your processor still overloads.

You also mentioned that you have recently upgraded to windows. In other words, is it possible that you missed out on a specific driver to install. Run windows update to resolve or corrupted driver pending problems. You can also go to Device Manager, if it can display any defective material (Start menu-> type-> press Device Manager on enter)

On the other note, why has it taken you days to install the hard drive? Please empty, so that we cannot rule out the possibility of a faulty hard drive or a set config presents?

  • Slow to load AE

When you attempt to start Ae CC 2015.3 it loads in the background and does not become active for about 5 minutes.

Once it starts there is no significant problem. An Ae running consumes only about 3% of the memory.

The total amount of memory used by all processes (including Ae) is 11%.  The total load on the CPU (including Ae) is about 10%.

The use of the SSD is minimal.

After leaving a successful EI session and restart there is no problem.

Operating system is MS10 64-bit version.

We don't honestly know. Your message is too generic to understand it all and well, it almost certainly has nothing to do with EI. This is quite probably a loop of crash driver, a maissing device driver, or a twisted framework on your system. Check your system logs.
