BIOS, again rejecting GPU
So I bought recently an asus A7 250 x 2 GB for my hp Pavilion HPE h8 - 1012c and I updated to a 580 Watt power supply. Just after the installation of my new GPU, I start my pc and my screen remains black and the hard drive is not reading anything.
I tried clearing the cmos and still no luck. Help, please.
Hello
Make sure your PC starts without the new card being installed.
Check that the graphics card is placed all the way down into the slot. Some AMD R7 250 x graphics cards require auxiliary power groups (6-pin PCI-E) so double check and make sure that the connector is on tight.
Check with ASUS and see if this particular card is compatible with a PC 3 years running a BIOS inherited. If they say tha card is compatible with your PC then RMA the card.
You might have a better chance to get a modern graphics card to work on your PC taking into account one of the models.
MSI NVIDIA GTX N750 TI and the MSI GTX N750 TF these two cards will run with power 300 watt original supplied with your PC.

Tecra A4: Bios password rejected: keyboard hardly available?
Before you travel, I decided to protect my work laptop (Tecra A4) with a Bios password and a hard drive password.
I have am went into Bios, entered the master password, went to page 2, enter disk password, rebooted, got the requested password, type it... rejected. Tried 3 times and the laptop crashed.
What happens here? I * know * the password I typed, as I typed twice in the Bios screen, so I'm * sure * of what I typed.
so I'm suspected a problem of keyboard layout, as I have a QWERTY layout.
Is it possible that when the administrator Bios available is one way and the initial password screen, another way? I used 'a' and 'm', the letters that move between Qwerty and Azerty.
Of course I tried to type my password with 'q' instead of ' a 'and'; ' instead of 'm', but no use.
I'm locked up. It's driving me crazy.
Any help welcome,
DavidHello

Pavilion G6 - 1061ee BIOS update error causing the extreme fan noise
Hello
It been a while since that HP has completed a new update of the BIOS for my Pavilion G6-1061ee, I got v f.63.
But now, they have made a new update of BIOS that is v f.65 I downloaded the file (the insydeFlash BIOS update) and when I run it and press START, my system freeze suddenly and EXTREMELY increase fan noise, it's like my CPU usage is 300% then in a few moments, the system shuts down and I could not be able to turn on the computer again , So I had to unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery then return everything back to be able to turn it on.
So can anyone help me with this problem.
OS: 8 64-bit Windows
RAM: 8 GB (Original was 4 GB... And added another 4 GB)
CPU: Intel (r) Core i5 CPU M480
GPU: Radeon HD 6470 M with Intel HD 3400 grapchics
- And thank you
Kind regards
Pedro MarthonHello PedroMarthon.
Are you currently overclocking the graphics card?
In order to solve this problem, I think you should uninstall third-party drivers and use the official drivers for Windows 7 and the workaround posted by my peers. The reason I suggest, is that the use of third-party drivers could cause strange problems and it will be easier to solve the problem.
What I would say is remove the third-party drivers and then using the method posted in my response above. Once the process is complete, I would try and then update the BIOS again. If successful, you can remove Windows 7 drivers and again use your third-party drivers. However, I'm not against the use of third-party drivers.
I appreciated the way in which you have been given to work with me, so I went to come your messages of congratulations. If you think that I was helpful please click the White Star under my name to give my messages of congratulations. I would really appreciate it!
I will keep an eye out for your next answer. I wish you a nice day!

No AHCI in the BIOS in Satellite Pro A200
I just installed an ssd and would like to change the bios to ahci utility but it is not an area that I am able to do this. the computer is a Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 (psfa1a-003002).
I have to update the BIOS? Where can I get the update and how can I update?
As I know the BIOS update does not offer some additional options. Please check the settings of the BIOS again. In the BIOS options there SATA advanced option and there you can change between compatibility and AHCI mode.
I have it on my P200. It is almost identical machine but 17 and your model 15.

BIOS update killed my Satellite Pro A210-1AZ
Hello
Today Tempro gave me an alert that there is a new update of the BIOS (bios-20100215113621). I duly installed in the usual way. During the restart, the machine came with a message from sum of CONTROL INCORRECTE.
While I was reading the message machine gave a sharp sqeak and dies quickly. It won't restart or answer.
Toshiba may explain why they distribute updates of Slayers and offer on how to get my machine back to life.
Two identical machines so we leave my wife running on the old bios.
The one you have any good ideas?
Hello
This s pity companion
Looks like the BIOS update procedure has failed, which means that you need a help of a technician of the ASP
I hope that the ROM module was not too bad. In most cases, should be reflash the ROM BIOS againIn any case, this procedure needs a crisis BIOS disk that would help to Flash the module.
Welcome them

Quick start function - how to access BIOS?
Hello
Recently, I activated the Fast Boot option in the BIOS and now I can't access BIOS again.
I have try press F2 bit after power is on but does not work.Do you have ideas of how enter to the BIOS?
Hello
Quick start can be enabled or disabled in the system of windows running.
Toshiba preinstalled application called system settings allows allows you to load the default settings. In the case where Windows 7 is pre-installed, check the tool called Toshiba HWsetup that should be included in all programs-> Toshiba
But you should also be able to access the BIOS, press the INSERT key and then the key F2
Also try the F12 key. Now in the boot menu should appear where you can choose the option Enter Setup. This will allow you to access the BIOS

Tecra S11 - replacement after HARD drive I can't update BIOS
My HDD in Tecra S11 is dead, and I bought a new SSD.
Everything works OK, but I can't update the BIOS again. Update utility displays an error:Error: Preparation of updated failed.
You have not given permission to run the update. What should do? Help, please.
> Error: Preparation of updated failed.
> You have not given permission to run the update. You have administrator rights?
Looks like the issue may be related to missing privileges that are necessary for the execution of an update. You can enable the administrator account, follow these steps:
Choose command line (cmd the black box)
In the box type net user administrator / Active: Yes
And then disconnect. Usually, an additional user account should be visible administrator. Now, log in using that account and try to run the BIOS update.
Note: in many cases the VAP (value added package) is required to run the BIOS update.
Remember also, that the package was decompressed properly before you run the exe file. -
Satellite M40-276 - memory not detected in the Bios upgrade
Hi people!
New kid on the block!
I have a client with a toshiba Satellite m40-276. I've updated his memory to give it a little more to play with...
Went into the bios to see if everything was OK but no projected additional memory. I removed the new and old memory and put in the new 1 GB module and restart the computer.
The bios has not yet changed the size of the old memory?Went to windows and of course that the memory has been detected it normally?
I added the other memory module and went into the bios again, but no change it?Windows, however, recognized that the two modules?
His computer is the same bios to factory and has never been updated.
My questions are... why the bios doesn't recognize the upgrade memory? It will help in upgrading the bios?
Enjoy all the suggestions I can get on this issue.
Thank you
bookie56
Generally, if you upgrade RAM using tested compatible modules, that should be recognized correctly.
We do not know what modules you use, and I guess that there is a compatibility issue.RAM on Satellite M40 276 can scale up to 2 GB of RAM and compatible modules are:
DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G) -
EliteBook 8540w: I forgot the bios password
Hello
2 years in order to enable virtualization, a bios password was to be given. Since then, I've used and never returned inside the bios again. Now, have a problem with the clock in windows 8.1 and linux when the laptop is not connected to the network. Could you please help me restet password please? CND02910YP
Hello
Unfortunately, business machines such as Probooks or EliteBook have more strict security consumption patterns - they do not produce "stop codes", the password cannot be derived from the serial number and the code is stored in a nonvolatile memory to remove the RTC cell does not reset the password in this case.
If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a file custom SMC.bin that you can use to reset the password at startup.
Kind regards

Anyway, the last BISO on page 3, 20-win and it's only the BIOS which is available
If you need an earlier version, then you will need to contact the Toshiba ASP in your country for a maybe version older, they could helpBut check the BIOS again access the settings and set its default value

After that I installed it first of all, it has been detected immediately in both the bios and during the installation of Windows 7. However, for some reason any approximately 40% of the way through installation, the computer restarts and the drive has disappeared since the BIOS all together and now, after several reboots it does not always detect!
Note that I already have the latest version of the BIOS installed on my laptop V2.70

Loss of power during the update of BIOS on Satellite A110
During a BIOS update using WinPHlash power was interrupted and now my Tosh Satellite A110 is unresponsive.
I think the BIOS is now corrupt or non-existent.
I searched the net solutions and found nothing that works so far.I know that I'm a fool to try to Flash a bios under Windows but I did and now I need a cure.
Thank you, in advance, to all those who responded to my call for assistance.
Yes, you are right; the EPROM module was not properly flashed.
In this case, the BIOS is corrupt and the laptop does not work.Solution: the EPROM module must be flashed once more use special disc of crisis of the BIOS.
To perform this procedure to update the BIOS crisis, you need the BIOS (traditional version), BIOS crisis disk along with the step by step instructions.
Unfortunately, this special BIOS crisis disk isn't available for download. It of available only for service technicians authorized.
But I also read in various forums about successful re-flash BIOS.For example in this thread:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=79257Check it out. Maybe it will help you. Otherwise, you will need to get in touch with partners in local service to Flash the BIOS again.

After the last update of BIOS that Satellite P100 locks with BSOD
Hello
Due to several problems meeting with updated Toshiba Satellite P100-221 (PSPA6E) launch second online BIOS updated. I have download and I solve problems with my video card and the race of missing keyboard. After a short period, they put on the update of the BIOS rd page 3 drivers.
I'm trying to find what ever they change with this new update, but I na? t find anything. So I decided to update my BIOS again. Now as a result my system crash very often when I quit & restart my computer (blue screen).
Microsoft advised me to reduce the video acceleration for video adjustment.
Maybe can someone explain to me why I have this problem?
I use the same drivers and software same as in the second update
I can find BIOS previous to rewrite again, because this one works very well with my laptop?Thank you!
Hi Sebasian
I use very long books and I've never updated the BIOS if not necessary. What laptop works well, OS stabile, why should I do it? I don t care if new BIOS update is available or not. I've always been skeptical about the updates to the BIOS. That's just my opinion.
As far as I know, it is not possible to downgrade the version of the BIOS without special tools and it can be done by service partners. It is not easy to tell if the BIOS is responsible for this, but if possible, try to send us illustrated if BSOD errors.
If I were you I backup all important data and reinstall the recovery image, configure OS for my needs, and make sure that everything is clean pre-installed. My experience with BSOD were always related software.
