BIOS, do not read my drive 310M from nvidia gforce

After you have installed the windows 10 my Vaio VPCJ128FG desktop computer stop recognizing the Nvidia Gforce 310 M display adapter. Now in Device Manager I see only a "basic Microsoft display adapter. so I can't update the same driver downloading from the Nvidia site.

Anyoen has a solution for this?

I tried to change the PCI to PCI e in the BIOS, but there is no option for this.

  • Tecra S1 - Bios does not detect HARD drive

Hi, first time poster, long drive date.

I have a friends laptop with me an old S1, its hard drive has failed. (Even tried it on my USB adapter to diagnose).

I had another IDE HDD which works like a dream.
I can even install Windows up to a point with the exception of when the computer wants to do the first restart of the second phase of the installation. (Not on CD).

In the bios the HARD drive is not detected a 0 MB for the read command.
I tested the USB HARD drive. So works perfectly. will try another hard drive there tomorrow see what is happening.

I tried the recovery CD aswell. But she also can not detect the hard drive.
Finally, I even reflashed the Bios even if it was the last version 2.50.
    Still did not change.

If I'm just at a loss here. Tomorrow I'll do the following.

Try a 3rd HDD IDE into the machine.

Opening of the case and see if I can find the CMOS battery to replace or remove for a minute or 2 to see what is happening.
Is obviously a problem of bios of the HARD drive is detected. Has anyone ever encountered this before?

Windows / ERD Commander / Partition Magic 8 all finding the end hard drive.
Thanks for listening to my dribble that I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall being close.

    Kind regards

    Dave

What drive did you use and what size it it?
I think that not all HARD drive would be compatible because of the 28-bit LBA.

The 28-bit LBA supports hard disks up to 128GB and if the IDE controller supports only 28-bit LBA then it may happen that more large drives would not be recognized by the BIOS.

  • Computer does not read USB drives

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

    Ideas:

    • my new laptop does not read a USB

What happens when you insert the USB - anything?  He make up a menu of options or give you any error messages or anything like that?

If you go to start / computer use you see the USB it?  If so, double-click it to open it.  If this isn't the case, read on.

Go to start / Control Panel / administrative tools / computer management / disk management and see if you can see the USB it.  It cannot be listed with a letter, but it may still appear.  If it is there, please post any information on this subject, he said EXACTLY Word for Word.  If she's not here, it is not really considered by the system.

You have an another USB, you can try in the machine to see if she had somethiing to do with the stick rather than the PC?  You have another PC on which connect the stick to see if it works on another computer.  Have you ever used this front USB on any computer or is it new?

You have all other USB devices connected to your system and they work well?  If this isn't the case, you have a USB mouse or other device, you can test on the computer to see if it works (if we exclude a problem with the USB ports or USB drivers).

To be honest, as it is a new computer, I would contact the technical assistance service and to ask for help they should be happy to offer because it is a new computer from the computer.  They may be able to help more of us because they know that their systems better than we do (and I don't even know the manufacturer of your computer, the USB key, or almost anything).  In some cases, to play with the system without contacting them can void the warranty and you certainly don't want to do.

I hope this helps.  If not, please answer my questions and give me the results of the procedures I asked you to try (including contact with the manufacturer) and we will see where to go from there.

    Good luck!

  • Windows 7 and bios sees not the hard drive, but when I connect the hard drive to the USB with an adapter, I see directories and files

    Please, I need pc

Original title: windows 7 and bios does not see the hard drive. but when I connect the hard drive to the USB with an adapter, I see directories and files... Ive a hp Pavilion, what to do?

Check the BIOS for hard drive setting.

Make sure that you do not connect the drive to a SATA/RAID port.

Old IDE drives - check the jumper on the drive (use "Cable Select" as a starting point), the BIOS must also be set in legacy/compatibility/IDE mode. Note: If you currently use the AHCI mode, then switch to IDE mode may cause Windows to boot.

  • 15 - f039wm: BIOS does not detect hard drives until it performs a diagnostic search

I was handed a 15-f039wm laptop to watch and I recognized immediately the hard drive was bad, complete failure - no detection and would not pass the built-in diagnostics. I have removed the drive from the laptop and confirmed that the car was bad on a separate system. I ordered a new drive, went with an SSD and put the new drive of the laptop. I checked the cable was sitting correctly on both ends and for good measure he reinstalled on the motherboard as well as on the drive itself.

Then I tried to re - install Windows 8.1 with the laptop provided with Bing, but when it came time to select the hard disk in the Windows Installer screen, no disks have been detected. I tried to load the drivers for the drive recognized, but nothing has worked. I then tried to start other diskettes of Windows (7 & 10) and the same problem arose, no drive detected. For fun, I loaded Hiren's Boot Disk and tried to see what I could do, and oddly enough the drive detected several times.

Then, I decided to go back to the integrated diagnostic tools (F2 at startup) and see what would happen. Hard drive has been detected and passed the Quick Test. I have a Windows install CD in and after that I left the screen he ended up launching the installation disc. I decided to try just a new set of drivers to see if the disc could be detected, but that the disc was already detected and just sitting there, ready for the installation of the software.

I have installed 8.1 on it and did the upgrade of Windows 10 to the owner and I noticed something serious.  Whenever I restarted (key here being a full reboot), the drive was not detected and I would get an error in DEVICE of START-UP INACCESSIBLE when he tried to load Windows. I ended up to play with the drive and launch the troubleshooting menus command prompt.

I tried to run diskpart, and when I typed "list disk" inside diskpart and he told me that there are no drives found. Large.

I took once more apart from the laptop and reinstall the drive again and the same problem happens again. This is where it gets a little weird. I ran Diagnostics on the hard drive again and just canceled check out out and Quick Test and let it boot. It starts very well.

I thought so at this stage it is a bug in the BIOS or something and decided to flash F.25 Rev.A to see if that would help. No, the problem persists after BIOS update flash. I decided to just go ahead and order a new cable to see if the cable is the issue. Is there anything else I can try? Anyone have this problem, it is rather strange to me, and I saw a lot of machines to act strangely.

    So, to summarize:

Hard drive is not detected at least that I force diagnostic analysis of any type on the hard drive and come out and let it boot.

    What I tried:

    New hard drive

    Reconnect the hard drive

BIOS settings - boot order, security keys allowed Secure Boot on / off, Legacy Boot on / off, (there no option of detection or ahci in the BIOS).

Many windows install environments, non-windows - disk environments is ever detected by the BIOS, I guess

    Flashed the BIOS updated

Reinstall Windows (back to 8.1 with Bing and question persists, persists on Windows 10 institutions)

DiskPart on Windows Installer (shift + f10 - prompt "diskpart" command, then in diskpart: 'list disk' which wouldn't say no disk).

Ordered a new cable (pending on this one)

What gets me, is that it works whenever I have diagnostic scan before starting. Every time. It fails on a restart cold without doing so. I looked on the Board for the damage of physical strength and the liquid, but do not see anything to really. I'm guessing that it was abandoned. Any ideas on what else to try? I'm running out of ideas on this one.

Try the new cable, but I think you look a very bad mother board it.

  • Windows Vista will not read external drives

I had an external hard drive connected to my computer earlier today. All of a sudden, my computer froze and started to make noises beeps, then I stopped and released my external drive.  Now, whenever I plug a drive it tells me that I have to reformat. However when I try to reformat the drive, he told me that the format could not be completed. It allows me to format NTFS, but that does nothing for me. I need to format in FAT or FAT32, but it won't let me. I even reformatted my drive to FAT32 from another computer, but when I plug in Vista it still says it needs to be formatted.  I got lost. How can I get Vista to re-read my external drives?

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.

RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

  • BIOS does not see the drive

I have a laptop Inspiron 6400 which continually blue screens with Memory_management stop code 1.  I am able to boot from a Linux CD without problem.  The Dell diagnostics are all successful except the one HARD drive.  The BIOS executes engines a A015 and A017 is later, but I'm not able to start long enough to install it.

The old HDD shows SMART errors when loading on another PC so I cloned it on a new disc.  Both are Hitachi 5400, the old model a 120 GB the new 250GB.

How can I get the BIOS to see the drive?  I have restored the image of the old drive to the new, with a signature of disk and without.  Dell support application there is no locking BIOS goes on and any SATA drive will do.

    Thank you.

Due to the presence of a Media Direct partition on the original disc, you can't clone the entire disk.  For the reason and how to work around it, see below.

    Hey Buddy,

What is the original drive and where you have ordered the new CD/DVD readers?
Have you checked if there is a jumper for master/slave definition? If so try with the master and slave.

The problem is that not all readers are compatible for all laptops. If you don't know which drive is just ask a maintainer approved assistance.

    For records, it works!
In fact, bios doesn't seem to have something to do with it.
To use with this portable ssd, first initialize and format the Solid State Drive (ssd) with windows disk management 7.
Then install the ssd in the Satellite Pro A60 and run the two supplied with the machine Toshiba recovery disks to install windows xp.
That works as well for the 64 GB and 128 GB ssd.
