    Hello

Unfortunately, business machines such as Probooks or EliteBook have more strict security consumption patterns - they do not produce "stop codes", the password cannot be derived from the serial number and the code is stored in a nonvolatile memory to remove the RTC cell does not reset the password in this case.

If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a file custom SMC.bin that you can use to reset the password at startup.

    Hello

I started to work as an administrator, but a worker in front of me made the passwords to get into BIOS on three notebooks of EliteBook 8560p. I can start Windows normally, but if something goes wrong, I will not be able to enter the BIOS and move the boot priority. • BIOS password problem

    Hello

I had a password on my BIOS, and I know because I was the one who set it. Later, as I was going to sell I need to remove this password, so after I removed it, it always appears with a password screen to enter the bios (I can get the operating system very well).

I tried the old password, the B500 Toshiba specific technique; I v allowed c-mouse and a number of crackers from past bios of such things than UBCD. He won t budge and I m from options, help please.

    > the specific technique of Toshiba B500
What is c? I never heard of this technique.

    >... (I can get the operating system very well).
In any case in the history I n t understand I thing: can you enter the BIOS or boot your operating system using your password or not? Your laptop is blocked or what?

If you can start the to OS user password pen tool and delete it.

  • The intermittent bios password problems

I have a HP Pavilion DV9000 Notebook/entertainment (GL885UA #ABL) and intermittently rejects the startup password. There is a USB keyboard and a mouse attached separately. The BIOS is displayed as HP F.3D, 22/11/2007. Processor is AMD Turion 64 X 2.

It is immaterial that the password is typed on the computer keyboard, or USB keyboard, it gets rejected most of the time and goes to the 'locked system' then I have to turn power off, then try again. Usually, it accepts the password on the second or third try.

It doesn't show other symptoms of low battery of the BIOS, such that waste the time and date and forget about the hard drive or other hardware.

    Thanks for any help

I have a HP mini 1000, which did the same thing for me, two days after an attempted installed Kali Linux. My mini is also about six or seven years. He asks a BIOS admin password. He never had a password for BIOS installed! It is now a brick.

They got a working laptop again? No one can say.

You are really funny to type cuban_cigar. And you are telling stories. But I want some of your stories were real and not made up from thin air.

You posted links to the son how to get rid of the BIOS password ok that nice, but it would be nice if you had read EACH case before posting something like this. In most cases, the user has lost the password!

I've got three different models of Toshiba laptops and set to update the BIOS on all laptops.
Never ever had a BIOS password problem!

I'm agree with Akuma and possibly that a single mobile model may be affected by unknown BIOS password problem.
I noticed an assignment abut M70, but it seems that the ASP took free and new update of the BIOS should help.

I also read in other forums that something like this happens also on mobile phones from OTHER manufacturers.
So in your case, I would be very careful with some things that are not known to you or not really clearly for you because you confuse others here in the forum.

    Welcome them

  • Original image has disappeared I think off the hard drive and the BIOS password set up does not work?

Someone please help me with this!

I bought this laptop from a friend (have receipt) who sell it to me because the screen was cracked and spidered all out when you the activated. And everywhere he went to ask to get the screen fixed it is very expensive ($250 - $350) and he said that it would be just a newer laptop. So he sold me this which is a model Probook of HP4420s XT940UT #ABA. About a week after I bought this Probook friend who sold it to died me suddenly. It was sudden and terrible. Some time later, I had the time of the purchase of the LCD for this model, replace it myself (was very easy actually) and booted up the laptop with a new installation of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Edition. After installing all my software and using the laptop for a while now, I wanted to get into the Bios that I've never done. So when I started the laptop, click ESC, then F10 to enter the BIOS, there were two places to enter a password is different then all Dell I've ever owned. One was mine I guees I put in place using HP protect tools and the other says BIOS/administrator. Well I can do most of the changes with the one I put in place with my password but my password does not work, nor can I get in some very significant changes that I wanted to do using Bios/administrator, as kindling the LoJack, namely the blocking of the hard drive etc. , turning on turbo boost, fan, etc. Well, since the person I bought is no longer with us, there is no one to turn to the answer to this question of administrator/BIOS password / problem.  I tried to take battery Rtype and restore that way, didn't work. Several times, I called HP and they sent me to a BIOS page to download the same BIOS, I have already, would not let me install it. When I bring up the command prompt and do not put anything in BiosConfigureUtility.exe happens, said just a wrong command. When I try to enter the BIOS through the C: file in the files of the SSM, I reach the BiosConfigUtility.exe file, click on it to open it and it just flashes a way small order page to fast to read what it says. I would like to have complete control over my laptop thinking I have a lot of time and money invested in it now. The problem would have something to do with installing the 64 bit version of Windows 7 instead of the 32 bits guess what it initially provided with?  Where can I find the UUID and what tech Department I would ask because if I have to call HP again and what other information should I have ready for them if you know? I have all the manuals and they say that this laptop is compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Pro is what I installed. I'm mixed responses from many different people on this and would like an answer from HP someone who has experience in dealing with the BIOS in the Probooks business models if possible please. I really like this Probook and have since become a big fan of most HP, Dell and Lenovo.  I intend to buy two probooks, one for my wife and one for my daughter because this one is like a MacBook, but better.  Thank you for reading this and I hope someone can help with more than one answer then GET AHOLD OF HP TECHNICAL TEAM. As I said, I did it.

    Model: HP Probook 4420 s

    Type: XT940UT #ABA

    Jason,

Sorry to hear about your friend and your problem.  The BIOS password cannot be reset without the help of HP.  They will need some information from your PC and increase your case.  I recommend you give them a call.
