BIOS paswword on Satellite L750D appears

Hello

I need to change a hard drive on Satellite L750D but when I turn on the computer (with the new hard drive) I got a message that tells me to enter the password of the bios.

The computer's bios has a whitelist?
When I put the old hard drive, I now get the same message.

Is it possible to reset the bios?

Thank you to

If the BIOS password is set, always ask you to enter the password of the BIOS; It doesn't matter if you replace the HARD drive or not.
If you do not know this password, you will not be able to use the laptop and such BIOS password unknown can be removed by Toshiba approved maintainer.

The BIOS also provides another type of password: supervisor password IE.
A password for the BIOS supervisor, used in combination with the password of the BIOS, is the second security option you have for your laptop. The BIOS supervisor password protects the BIOS settings.
For example, a supervisor of the BIOS password is adjustable to restrict access to the BIOS, to restrict the BIOS user and drive HARD or password to restrict the access to power management features and users without supervisor BIOS password cannot change these settings.

  • Satellite L750D - update BIOS 2.1 and its problem

    Hello

I have little problem. I was downloaded from your website 2.1 BIOS for Toshiba Satellite L750D (PSK32E).

I have been updating BIOS 2.1 and start the problem with the sound. When I start the game, music or else minutes 2 first sound plays correctly but then it stops without reason. No noise at all. I've been reinstalled op system but the problem is still there.

Sound works for 2 minutes only then is completely off. Each application to start with sound plays 2 minutes and stop all silent is. I did a probe on my laptop the mother she s a computer portable twin. I have updated bios same problem 2 minutes and then no sound. My OS is win 8 64 pro my laptop mother is with win 7 x 64 premium.

Two BIOS updated ver 2.1 on L750D and the problem is the same. Please fix the BIOS.

The BIOS seems to be very old. I was released nearly 1.5 years ago, so to be honest, I doubt that his and BIOS problem.

I had the similar problem with my other laptop equipped with a Realtek sound card.
The sound appeared after connection and remove the headphone jack
But I could solve this latest installation updated audio driver the Realtek driver page.

But it seems that your Satellite does not support Realtek audio chip but the Conexant audio chip.
Therefore, the solution could not be useful for you.

However, I think that you need to update the audio driver. I recommend you google for driver Conexant SmartAudio HD and test the latest version of the driver available.
On the internet, I find the Conexant SmartAudio HD driver version 8.65.9.51 for Win 7 / 8 Win / Win 8.1
Not quite sure if this is the latest version, but you can test it.

    To manually update your driver:

    1. go into the Device Manager (right click on my computer, choose manage and then find Device Manager in the left panel)
    2. right click on the device you want to update and choose Update driver software
    3. choose Select the location of the new driver manually and navigate to the folder where you downloaded the driver

There are many more updates of drivers and there are many new video games that require the updated drivers.

When I try to use auto driver AMD detect (when you try to download the driver that was detected), it shows me an error that the version of my graphics card is not supported.

    Hello

Display driver for mobile units is quite limited and the laptop manufacturers do not offer the updates very often. Problem is that the performance of equipment, performance of the graphics card in particular, must be controlled and it is controlled by the display driver.
With the new graphics driver will offer more performance, but with more performance GPU will produce much more heat and it can be very dangerous for mobile machines of al.

Cooling system for notebook computers is optimized for certain hardware platform, and if the material can be cooled correctly the result may be overheating or hardware damage. Which is the reason why you can not install these non support drivers. Toshiba will not be responsible if you use a third driver of the part and later come to the service with damaged graphics card.

I know it's a bit boring and all of us want to have the right machine to high performance, but that's the problem with laptops in general.

To be honest, these L models with AMD platform are portable vouchers but not a few machines games so I don't think you can do much.

Update the BIOS of course has nothing to do with all this.

  • Satellite L750D/009 - poor game with double HD 6520 G & 6400 M performance

    Hello.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L750D/009 PSK36A-009008 who said that my main card is a Radeon HD 6520 G and the bound adapter is AMD Radeon HD 6400 M series.

I tried to assign different drivers (including the most recent). With clean installs.

I get roughly the next fps in the following applications with a selected minimum graphics resolution. (which is less then my previous much less expensive gfx from nvidia).
    Battlefield 3 = 33 fps
    Fallout 3 = 35 fps
    GTA 4 = 20 fps.
(I can get a 3d mark bench if it helps)

The 6400M should not be the primary his allot faster?
Is their an update of the bios for my machine?
ago cannot update computer laptop gfx cards can is?

THANK YOU D ' ASSIGN IN ADVANCE IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO!

    I agree with Akuma.
Generally books L series is not designed for high above all not graphics performance to be as some laptops A Satellite or Qosmio gaming machines.

L notebooks are cheap and designed more for basic computer operations.

  • Upgrade CPU on Satellite L750D

    Hello.

I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade AMD A4 processor in my laptop to a faster-> A6 or A8. I have the laptop next: Toshiba Satellite L750D-157. Is it possible somehow? For example, the bios update is required before upgrading the processor etc...

Any response is accepted! Thank you.

    Hello

The AMD Dual - Core Mobile Processor A4 - 3300M belongs to the platform AMD Sabine (Fusion). The mobile chipset supported is A60M, A70M (M2-Hudson, Hudson-M3)

Now to a few facts: updates for laptops are not officially supported by one of the manufacturers of mobile phones. This means if you want to try these updates only at you own risk.
No one will be able to tell if the laptop would work properly after these updates.

But I read in this forum that a lot of different people have been able to upgrade the processor, but in most cases, it's Intel processors.
The chipset and BIOS must also support the new processor. In the case where one of the parties would not support new CPU, the laptop does not start upward.

Hi, just bought this laptop (5 days), the cooling fan is not turned off, the computer feels cool so don't know why it has run all the time. Read other articles on the upgrade of the BIOS but wouldn't go the upgrade in case missed me something obvious. It is a laptop replacement after the last Toshiba laptop (3 weeks old) no longer works in total. Prefer if possible to fix this with the help, rather than lose the computer for 3/4 weeks for repair, any advice would be greatly received.

  • Satellite L750D - can't access 4 GB of RAM under Windows 7 64-bit

I recently bought a Satellite L750D/009 with 4 GB of RAM. Have installed Windows 7 64 - bit OS but panel shows that only 3.47 GB of RAM is usable. I expect this from a 32 bit OS but I'm * definitely * running 64-bit OS.

    Can someone explain this?

    Hey,.

Are the whole 4 GB of RAM in BIOS? If Yes, everything is ok.

I think that the rest of the memory will be used for graphics card graphics memory so it of normal. This will be controlled automatically so n t you worry about this.

  • How can you get into BIOS on a Satellite 320 CD.

Hi my name is steve, I was wondering how get you into the BIOS on a satellite 320 CD. Because it's my first format at the top of a tower. Done a lot on the office laptops just never. As some fool tried to do before me and distroyed it. Now the only thing that happens is when the toshiba logo disappears this message appears, INVALID SYSTEM DISK, REPLACE THE DISK, THEN press ANY KEY. It allows to run Windows 98 and it worked great for what age there. Hoping to put XP on it, but its only got a small hard drive (4099 mb). So will hand 98 on it until I get a bigger hard drive. Only need to teach my daughter how to respect a laptop. I want to get into the BIOS for the format. No instructions on how to enter the BIOS would be great, because I'm good from there. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

You suggested that you want to enter the BIOS to format the HARD drive. Very strange.
However, if you want to boot from the CD so you can also use the C button immediately after the power button.
The laptop should boot from the CD of Win98. The installation procedure contains a HARD drive format option.

  • Very unusual behavior of Satellite L750D-14R

One of my kids has a portable Satellite L750D-14R and a couple of weeks complained that the laptop was slow. It * was * slow - it took 10 to 15 actual minutes just to load of minecraft, and then the game was unplayable because it was so slow. He already had 6 GB of RAM. To try to fix it, I reinstalled Windows 8 (when we bought, it came with windows 7 and I upgraded to 8.1 Windows), all system updates and the windows update 8.1.

He seemed to be okay, at this point, faster. But he began to blue screen regularly, as every time it has been used. I tried to reinstall another, this time by installing Windows 8.1 directly. I made all the system updates etc and he began to blue screen. At that time, I had already spent a lot of time trying to fix it. This time, I went for the nuclear option full-on and completely formatted the disk including the removal of all partitions. There are 3 partitions, a very small recovery partition and the system partition and data. I thought I wouldn't need recovery - if there were any problems I could format and reinstall again. So I amazed all the scores and grouped into a single partition on the disk.

The laptop is now completely unusable. With the HDD Toshiba original (freshly formatted) installed the laptop starts just directly to a blue screen that says:

"Recovery, your PC needs to be repaired. The application or the operating system could not be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors. File: \WINDOWS\System32\winload.exe
    Error code: 0xc000000f

You will need to use the tools of recovery on your installation media. If you do not have the installation media contact your system administrator to the manufacturer.

    Press ENTER to try again
    Press F8 for startup parameters.

Pressing enter or F8 is simply the screen flashes for less than a second, then it goes back to the same message again. It tries to start, it shows not the BIOS or normal startup messages, or the Toshiba logo or anything like that.

With a drive HARD new, freshly formatted, the laptop does nothing when I turn it on - entirely black screen with a cursor flashing at the top left of the screen. It does not boot to the BIOS, there is no system messages or logos, I can't type in the location of the cursor, it is just flashing indefinitely.

It's as if there was something on the "valorisation" partition which stops users to upgrade the HARD drive or something - any player who does not have this 'special' recovery partition do not work, thus ensuring that consumers buy a new laptop when it grinds to stop instead of the upgrade. This may sound cynical, but I saw anti-mise at material level similar solutions in the past - Compaq PC used to have special notches plastic cast on optical drives, so that readers could be used in the frame of Compaq.

Just to put things in context, I'm not a computer expert, qualified or not, or whatever it is, * but * I was an engineer office support for a very large company for a long time, a few years ago. I have built, repaired and updated hundreds of computers over a period of about 20 years, and in all this time, I've never seen a problem like this. What I mean is, I'm not a total computer novice! Usually a full format and reinstall everything except material patches broke, and it does not feel like a broken hardware problem.

The laptop is 1 to 2 years. I'm sure laptops should last longer than that. I really don't want it's bin again. Is there something I can do? I can recreate this special anti-mise to partition somehow level?

With a drive HARD new, freshly formatted, the laptop does nothing when I turn it on - entirely black screen with a cursor flashing at the top left of the screen

The cursor blinking in the upper left corner is a typical sign of HARD drive / partition problems or memory problem.
But HARD DISK must be check at the first stage.

According to your message, you could reinstall Win 8 on this HARD drive...

I recommend you install Windows system once more after the HARD drive has been formatted.
The best choice would be the use of the support of recovery Toshiba (disk) which allows you to reset the phone to factory settings, but I guess that you have not created this record in the past. Right?

Well, if you need this disk, you can always order the middle of Toshiba Arvato serice.
More I would recommend checking the HARD drive using some 3rd party software such as
Drive Fitness Test (google for free download)

As mentioned, next to the potential problem of HARD drive, the RAM might be the troublemaker...
Then you should also consider the RAM check or replacement of RAM...

I checked the hdmi cables with other devices and work on the two TV - using the shortest cable to test the laptop.
honestly, I thought that it was a software problem because it can real detects the TV but no picture or sound work, which indicated the hdmi cables, but they work with my ps3.

so, it is not the cable, not the TV, not the software, hardware maybe? but it detects my TV...?

so I am really confused here more info please ask first time using the help forum :(

    any help much appreciated sincerely.

    Hello

If all goes well he material s no problem, but I m afraid it could be
I think it might be a hardware problem, because you said that you have already configured the laptop back to factory settings and this has not solved the problem.

I understand this correctly? You used the recovery disc or HARD drive recovery?
    Is this good?

What you could do is to check if your BIOS is up to date.
On the European driver Toshiba page, you will find the latest version of the BIOS.
Check if you can update the BIOS.
In addition, I recommend setting the BIOS to default and settings to save the changes.

At least a graphics card driver might be updated also. Its worth a check however, I m really not sure if this might help you

Also, I've updated the laptop with a 2gig RAM booster and wanted to give the graphics chip a little more but I can't find option anywhere in the BIOS so if any1 knows how to increase RAM shared for the graphics chip please tell me

FYI: my laptop is the Satellite L750D - 1 DM PSK32E

Static RAM works automatically and you will not be able to change anything. With more RAM, more memory will be used for graphical operations.

With the display drivers for laptops are always a bit complicated. Due to the specific design and a cooling system in particular GPU performance must always be under control. This is the reason why manufacturers don't offer direct support GPU.

I think that no one here can say much about Toshiba support. Maybe a more recent machine with the same GPU uses newer driver.

Have noticed when I put "sleep" and then wake it up in back, the screen remains dim, almost to the point where you can't see a thing. I end up having to restart, then its fine. Doesn't do it when I select hibernate, all standby mode.

Started in normal Linux (Ubuntu 12.04) and a different MAC address again.

NIC seems to work fine with whatever he chooses - but how MAC address can be change by itself?

    > NIC seems to work fine with whatever he chooses - but how MAC address can be change by itself?

The physical MAC address is not editable, but there are a few ways to spoof the mac address
For example, using Windows XP, the MAC address can be changed in the properties of the Ethernet adapter. On the Advanced tab, under "MAC address", "Locally administered address", "Ethernet address" or "network address". The name of this option depends on the Lan driver that is installed on your laptop. And important note; not all drivers are supported changing the MAC address of this way.

In addition the system registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} contains some parameters of the network interface and the option called NetworkAddress will serve to set the MAC address.

There are also tools that could spoof the address MAC for example, SMAC MAC Address Changer.
Finally and above all some routers provide an option to change the MAC address.
