Vista tells you he needs a module of TPM for BitLocker, but it happens. To enable BitLocker without a TPM, follow these steps:

1. open the Group Policy Editor by clicking on start, type gpedit.msc, and then press ENTER.

2. navigate to computer BitLocker Drive Windows\Chiffrement userconfiguration\administrative ordinateur\modeles.

3. double-click on Control Panel settings: activate the Advanced Boot Options.

4. click on activate. Then, select the allow BitLocker without a Compatible TPM check box.

Click - allow - bitlocker.png

5. click on OK.

I m not very well why it doesn't work on Vista Ultimate, but to my knowledge, there are a few Vista Toshiba Utilities and tool that are not fully supported by Ultimate.

But why you use Tempro? This tool reports only if a new driver has been transferred on the Toshiba driver page.
OK, it's interesting to know that a new driver is available, but if your laptop runs without problem I wouldn't update or reinstall anything s!

There is no way to upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit.

32-bit to 64-bit should be done with a clean install, using a full operating system disk/license.

  • Zoo Tycoon 2 does not work on Vista 64 bit Ultimate

When I start the game it gives an error saying that I have 0 MB of RAM installed.
I also have a stub GPF.

I tried to turn on DEP for all programs and added ZT.exe in exceptional cases.
I edit "MSCONFIG" to show only 2 GB of ram.

The issue of ram 0 MB goes, but I still I get a stub of protection error when I start the game.

The thing is my old Zoo Tycoon 1 full collection works very well.
ZT1 was released around 2001-2002. Whereas ZT2 came out around 2006.
How can and more old-fashioned work fine but not the new version. I expect it to be the other way around.

Someone at the helpdesk said MS the ZT2 game does not work on Vista 64 bit and I should install a virtual machine so that it can work in 32-bit.
Is really the only way? Help, please.

    Hi orbit17,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Answers.

Try to turn on DEP for "Windows programs and services only" and then restart the computer and check with the game.

Here is a link to a KB which deals with the minimum requirements of the system and the compatibility problems with Zoo Tycoon 2: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/889368

Please make sure that your computer meets the requirements for the game and that your computer is compatible

Also how much RAM do you have installed on the computer?
Did you add extra RAM since the purchase of the computer?

You can also try to run the memory diagnostic tool by using the Windows Vista DVD.

    I hope this helps.

  • Vista 64 Bit Home Premium does not start when a disc is in the optical drive

I tried to understand this for a long time, but I thought I might as well ask for help.  I use Vista 64 - bit Home Edition Premium and the problem I have is that I cannot restart my machine if a disc is in the optical drive. Specifically, if I have a DVD or Bluray disc in the optical drive (IE a BD - ROM drive). When I restart my computer and a disk is present, the startup process is going past the initial windows screen, but that's how far it goes. My desktop (I don't have a password to connect). Initially, I thought it was a matter of priority to boot but the boot process starts from the hard drive but stops at half way through. Then, I went into the BIOS and removed the optical drive completely from the boot priority list.  But there is no change in behavior. The process stops with the only thing visible on the splash screen is a black screen and the hard drive light flashes and goes out from time to time.  I use this computer as my Home Theater PC and sometimes I have to restart my machine when a movie DVD or a Bluray movie is in the optical drive. I would appreciate any response that can help me solve this problem...

    Thanks in advance...

There may be something wrong with the files on your hard disk.  We will try to update to see if it helps:

Do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not resolve the problem, try the following:

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps (I believe you need a disc for Installation of Vista to do that, even if some Installtion OEM disc might work, but probably not all the recovery discs).

    1. put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

    2. press a key when you are prompted.

    3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

    4. click on repair your computer.

    5. click on the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

    6. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

    7. type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

Note If rebuilding the BCD does not resolve the startup problem, you can export and delete the BCD, and then run this option again. In doing so, you ensure that the BCD is completely rebuilt. To do this, type the following commands at the command prompt Windows RE:

    ·        bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    ·        c:

    ·        Boot CD

    ·        BCD attrib s h - r

    ·        Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

If this does not work, or if you do not have the disk, try EasyBCD http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1 and see if that works and does everything well.  Make sure what you are doing or you could mess up your boot files and you'd be in a lot of trouble.

I don't know if the problem is even caused by startup files (but it is possible if it is not the BIOS), but you'd better check and if the procedures are followed to the letter as stated there is no harm in trying.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

Method 1: The problem with Microsoft Windows Update is not working: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_update/

Method 2: Try to reset the Windows update components and check to see if the same problem happens: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

    Method 3 :

Try to set up your computer in a clean boot state, and then check to see if the same problem occurs.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

    Hello

Temporarily disable the security software and check if it makes a difference.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

I have my recovery disk ready to go.  When I right click on "C:" in the management of the computer, it won't let me choose 'Format '.  It is just gray.

Advice on getting this format complete?

    Hello

Since you still have the recovery partition, use Restore Factory is a better option because formatting OS drive is not the same as the format or other readers. Please back up all your data/files first.

To set your PC/laptop to the factory settings, restart the PC/laptop. At HP Home screen has reached repeatly F11 (or ESC) key to start the recovery process. Follow the instructions on the screen.
