  Kindly help me to retrieve the files of one of our responsible, something went wrong with his laptop and the seller replaced the MoBo.   Hey thanks for the reply Kev, but I must say that I did and didn't. The new Windows 7 operating system has this feature built-in and it is much easier to use. So yes I did it, but I made using windows 7 have where, instead of download all the files, I just insert the original DVD of WIndows 7, I restart my PC and follow the instructions of recovery of BitLocker recovery key, and voila. The problem is that I've NEVER stored on this particular external hard drive recovery key. BTW: I tried to follow the steps mentioned by Mr. Vijay but inconsistent tool with my operating system (Windows 7 64-Bit) it only works with Vista (not 150 percent certain but close). Please correct me if Im wrong. I wish I could change the world, if only I could find a diapper big enough to hold so many things...

  I spend computers constantly in my work.  I have often install new hard drives and move machines, as part of my work.  I bought Windows 7 and have never installed on a machine at a time.  Calling your woefully inadequate to voice recognition phone system to tell you that I indeed expect to install the operating system I paid for * the * out of me.

  I already spent a MacBook for my main machine; you're lucky I am on Windows at all.  In general, I installed Linux on my other machines.  Each installation of my Windows 7 key is a new chance for you to make me not interested in Windows 10.  Each. Unique. Time. (I have to call to 'allow' my installations because that your automatic authorization is either one) broke, or b) is set up to discourage people to install your operating system either.

  Is it possible to add it please my Windows 7 key to a list of 'Yes, this person's owner  Cause I'm in anger.

  There is a limit to how many times you can move a version of Windows from one computer to another, once you exceed this limit (typically 5 times) then phone activation is required.

  Why; too often people install Windows on more than one PC without deleting the previous computer. (A license is a key a PC).

• Someone at - it get Bitlocker to work on E7470 without asking the recovery key at startup?

  I tried everything I can think and am not able to get the notebook to boot without asking the Bitlocker recovery key. I am resolved that there is something wrong with the HW but if someone did work, I would like to compare notes.

  The problem was the BIOS. The computer shipped with BIOS version 1.1.6 and the o/s could not read the TPM chip. I updated the BIOS to version 1.3.0 and now Bitlocker can read the chip and need the recovery key...

  I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 1525 under Win 7 Pro(32 bit) and a desktop running Win 7 Pro(64 bit).  I can get them in network by entering in the register of the office and changing the TCPIP6 > settings > DisabledComponents value to 0, and then restart.  When you do that, everything seems to work properly.  Both computers can access files shared on another.  However, the really strange thing is that if I come back in the registry and check again the key to registry TCPIP6, I find that it has been changed back to "ff" or disabled... yet both computers are sharing files!  If I restart the desktop computer, there no homegroup connection... once again.  Something is rewrite this registry key apparently every time that the computer restarts... but only AFTER the IPv6 connection is already made.  I can't get my mind around it!

  Any ideas on what could be the cause?

  For anyone interested, I found the problem to be my ZoneAlarm free firewall (ver. 9.1.007.002)
  It seems that every time that ZA starts, it disables the IPv6 protocol by changing the entry in the Windows registry.  I read that the paid versions have the option of allowing the IPv6 protocol, but I can't confirm that.  All that I know is that as long as ZoneAlarm don't dΘmarre, homegroup works as advertised.
