BLAC kscreen after windows - broken graphics card logo?

Model: HP Notebook PC G62-b41EO
Product: XX509EA

Windows 7 Ultimate (initially Windows 7 Home Premium)

When you edit a video for YouTube, I got a blue screen and my laptop closed. When I restarted everything was normal, until Windows has loaded, and after that everything went black.

I'm almost certain that it is a problem of graphics card:

* When I turn off the graphics driver in Windows Device Manager I can start the computer normally.
* In Device Manager, I get an error message on the GPU, saying he could not start because it is not working properly.

The graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 (switchable)

I've tried several things, nothing worked:

* Graphics driver update
* Did a restore of the system, the operating system reinstalled
* A system check in boot options
* Did a hard reset
* Connected to an external monitor, this caused another blue screen.

My guess is that the graphics card has just had enough and died. My 1 year warranty is over. What can I do?

The only solution is a new motherboard or motherboard to repair.

This ebay seller is an example of services that are out there. You can save a little if you can remove the motherboard from the chassis:

    Hello Joey

If right now you go back to Windows XP and the system is slow correct? You have the drivers installed since you went back to XP? If not then click here and select your system. This will bring up a list of available drivers for you. Also, I've included a link below to get the drivers for your new video card. My problem with the question is if your system has enough power to support the video card. Here are the specifications of your card. Check the configuration required for the map and you ensure that you have adequate food. Let me know if it helps. Thank you.

  • Stuck on the HP logo screen after installing new graphics card.

I installed a new graphics card today and I'm stuck in the loading screen. My old card boots gts 450 my computer very well, but my new graphics card cannot. I replaced my old diet with a 600w power supply, and it worked fine with my old card.

    It's my computer HP Pavilion h8-1210 = http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-HPE-h8-1210-Desktop/dp/B006VG0HNM

I tried to install the latest version of the Bios with no luck. I guess it is the motherboard, but I'd be happy to work around that.

    metall909,

If you use an EVGA 760, so your question is probably a vbios into the video card.

HP PC delivered after November 2012 are pretty good at speed on the last level of UEFI version. This level begins to version 8.

I met problems with EVGA 760 UEFI and ASUS claims it is a vbios video card problem and EVGA says this is a motherboard problem.  I would not recommend using this card until EVGA releases an update of the vbios.

If you are in a situation of pointing finger between HP and EVGA.

  • Windows 7 graphics card problem

I have a HP Envy 17 t 3000 CTO Notebook PC product # LW900AV Every so often I get the message "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" for some time, but has never been able to solve the problem. Then I started getting the blue screen of death which says something about a dump of memory and a driver from memory. Usually I hold down the power button and restart.

Then, while in windows mode the screen got all staticy, to restart, I have the windows logo, then I see a black screen with static in it and never completely, he began. I can go in safe mode without any graphic or other problem.

Go to Device Manager I deleted the driver for AMD Radeon HD 7690 M XT graphics card, then restarted, and it will start and will work perfectly with the other driver (Intel) until Windows loaded another driver for the Radeon driver (I couldn't stop) after the loading screen would be left empty. Nothing found online so far has solved the problem.

Then, I went into recovery and returned to the factory settings. That worked for a few hours, everything worked fine. Then I started to have static electricity once again, until I'm right here where I started.

Can someone tell me exactly what the problem is? Hardware or driver? Why does it work temporarily? Is it possible to completely disable the Radeon driver for good, where it is not reload on reboot? My computer has two graphics drivers (don't know why) is it possible to use the other driver instead (the Intel driver)?

Since it is not under warranty, if I brought a technician is something they can do?

    Thanks for your help!

Looks like're you allowing / victim of a Windows update that includes the wrong video driver for your system.

You could do things to do work things out and later a update of Windows comes with the wrong driver video and things mess for you.  Microsoft does not know what are the best drivers of material (audio, video, network), with your system and often sends the bad and if you don't pay attention to the updates, your system may malfunction.

First let's take a look at what you get when it is broken so that you know what things look like.

Click on the button/ORB start in the lower left corner of your screen. Or, press the button of your keyboard Windows logo.

    In the type box:

    Msinfo32

Select / click msinfo32.exe and the system information dialog box opens.

Click System summary, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) feedback here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

In the display section, pay attention to / take note of the Version of the driver that you know does not work for example:

15.200.1062.1004 driver version (your going to say something different)

If you have the system to a point where things seem to be working, go back in msinfo32 and also take note of the version of the driver that works.

Then hop out on the HP support site and download/install the driver proper (32/64-bit) from here:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-envy-17-notebook-PC-series/5145668/model/5180699

Then restart your system and return to msinfo32 and check the new display driver version to remember that he has updated and see how things look for and report.

If you did a factory reset, you can use the preinstalled HP Support Assistant to help with the video drivers, or you can download the HP Support Assistant from here:

  • Drawing objects in Firefox and Thunderbird after installing the graphics card MSI R6850 of AMD

After installing the new graphics card (MSI R6850 CYCLONE 1GD5 PE/OC), pilots the latest on Windows XP 32-bit, I frequently meet with Mozilla Firefox 8.0 and Mozilla Thunderbird 8.0 drawing artifacts. The problem presents itself as a horizontal black bands or model checker color scattered. It occurs especially when the child (like the Download Manager) passage of another application for Firefox or Thunderbird or when to switch to a window for Firefox. It affects the entire application or only some rectangular (region clearly who was redesigned due to change of application). Then repaint (such as switch between Firefox tabs) usually solves the problem. This is just visual, the behavior is not affected. The problem never happened to any other application so far. Any ideas? Any who have experienced the same problem? Thanks in advance.

    Try turning off hardware acceleration.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

If disable hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver that corrects these problems.

  • Pavilion dv6 3131tx: play games with ATI card Windows 10 graphics card

    Hello

I have a hp Pavilion dv6-3131tx with switchable graphics (HD Intel and AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 series card graphics card), and after the upgrade to Windows 10 all my games have been slow. I thought it was because of the HARD drive space I did a disk cleanup (including system files that I decided that I wasn't going back to Windows 7). After doing this, I decided to fiddle around with my chart (on two cards) options to maximize performance.

However, now most of my games opened with the sound in the background, but it's a completely black screen. Looks like everything works well in the background (even the mouse pointer works and is in the shape of the pointer of the mouse of games) but it's just a full black screen. This seems to only happen with demanding games like a racing game or a sim as Sim truck or train sim. Other games such as spintires and miami hotline works very well. I could literally find nothing similar to this problem online and I really hope there is a fix for this!

I have to mention also I tried to turn off my map graphics Intel HD in Device Manager when I was trying to figure out how I can make my ATI card my default card, because I'm sure that my games were run on the Intel card as they all seemed very slow compared to when I played on Windows 7. After that I disabled it my screen was almost entirely black, but I could just, just, what I did and managed to the reactivation of the card. This form almost entirely black happened also when I did the opposite.

Update: it seems when I put these games to use the games I have (the Intel card) power saving trouble with work fine (less shift because she is able to save of course) so it's a problem with the ATI card.

Thank you and I hope there is a fix for this

Also, I had a PC trashed by the upgrade of Win10 - because the upgrade tool does not detect the switchable graphics in advance and prevent the upgrade.  The good news is that MS has finally stopped by pushing people to do the upgrade of Win10.

Ordinarily, I advise to use HP recovery media to restore your PC to its original state. That would erase the entire disk, format the drive and install the operating system, drivers and utilities HP.

Unfortunately, there is no support of HP recovery related to HP for your PC Product Page. This could be an oversight by HP, or it could also mean that HP stock is no longer the recovery media for your PC. They store any long recovery media for older PCs.

You can try to contact the HP customer directly, using the links below, to see if you can order them if:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

    ---------------------------------------
However, HP customer care is generally not available on weekends, so you will have to wait until Monday to contact them.
    ---------------------------------------

Given that HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you should check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

  • X 360 spectrum: Spectrum X 360 Windows 10 graphics card compatibility

I received my 'get windows 10' Microsoft command prompt has shot to the top of the app. When I chose to check my PC, I have been informed that the graphics card (Intel HD Graphics 5500) was not fully compatible with the new operating system.

Do we know how this will affect the performance of the PC should I choose to install the OS?

Secondly, given this laptop was conducted in collaboration with Microsoft, why was she not future proof for 10 Windows who would have known would arrive shortly after that this model of PC became available?

  • No audio after installing new graphics card

I recently installed a Geforce 8800 gt xfx graphics card. After you install the graphics card, I have more audio analogue. My computer does not detect the analog audio devices. Things I've tried: reinstalling the drivers chipset audio activation built into the bios bios reset CMOS reset reinstallation Editing registry. PC specs: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02628226 (Note: all specifications listed are correct except the video card and power supply) voltage is the 450w graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150280

Yes, it is possible, that there is an overload.

The solution is to get a sound card not cheap, I think.

One that works with everything what add on slots (PCI/PCIe x 1) you have.

Then get a Radeon HD6570 (didn't need additional power supply), or some other card Radeon HD if you wish.

  • HPE h9-1001de: HPE h9-1001de - broken graphics card can I use the integrated graphics card Intel?

I bought this PC four years ago (just the version, not CS as in the link):

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=c03106002

The integrated graphics went broken today. Research on the spec Web site I noticed that the Intel's integrated graphics. I won't buy another video card, if there is a graphics processor integrated into the processor.

Indeed, there are two additional DVI ports; However, they are sealed with a sign "DO NOT REMOVE", and each port is sealed with two screws with a strange format (star with six faces?).

Why these DVI ports are sealed? Why with this format live strange? I hope that's not for licensing reasons, and that I'm still able to use them as DVI ports...

    Thank you.

    Hello:

I don't think it is sealed for any other reason than from your PC with a video of the add-on card, they would not people plugging in these ports DVI cables and by calling HP support complaining that the video does not work (because an add on card disables the integrated graphics card).

Remove your discrete PCIe x 16 graphics card, so the built-in graphics card is enabled, put your hand on the good size torx screwdriver and remove the cover, so you can use the integrated graphics card adapter.

  • No Signal after installing new graphics card

Hello and thank you in advance for your help!

We have a 2 years old HP p6540y.  It has an ATI video card integrated. When we recently turned on, we got a message "no signal" on the monitor and then he'd go to sleep.  We tried many things to fix... listed below, in order and are always the same message.  Please advise!

    (1) No Signal: DVI, VGA, HDMI.  So we unplugged and rebooted, no change.

    (2) checked monitor and DVI & VGA cables with another computer: they all work.

    (3) installed new graphics card: NVIDIA GEForce GT 610.  Still got same message "no signal".

    (4) we plugged/unplugged all the other cards/cords / no matter what we could and cleaned.  Then, finally, the monitor turned on! But not for long...

    (5) after you restart the computer after installation of the graphics card driver, we got the 'no signal' message again.  We released once more, other cards/sheets and again once the monitor and the computer came to life.

    (6) we uninstalled the ATI integrated graphics card.  When we go to display, Advanced Options, he mentions our new NVIDIA as graphic/video card.

    (7) we turned computer off during the night and this morning when we have lit, we once agin got the message "no signal".  We have unplugged/plugged computer several times.  Also tried the trick with cards/plugs by pulling and we have nothing.  No Signal.  After doing this several times (about 10), he is finally working again.

    (8) we changed the sleep settings to: screen saver = never; Standby mode = never.

    (9) we restarted again to get once more no signal message.

    So... what should we do?

    Thank you very much!

    Triusa, welcome to the forum.

I think that your problem is caused by the power supply unit (PSU).  Here's a guide to help you solve the problem:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph06788

Also, the existing PSU is 250W.  The 610 GT requires a minimum of 300W.

    Hello

I have a Qosmio F10, but unfortunately the graphics card is broken on it, if anyone knows if it can be repaired without having a new card mother 'expensive '!

My warranty has expired at the beginning of this year so I'm worried about how much it will cost, all my personal files and data are always on it, so is it still possible to take down them with her still divided?

I have power get sill on the machine, but nothing lights up the screen and the fan is constantly at full power.

    Hi Paul

This is a very silly situation, I assume that you will not be able to repair the laptop without a motherboard replacement.
Set the id of the graphics card on the mobo and it s not possible to easily remove it from the motherboard.

If you want to save your data and files of ads please remove the laptop HARD drive and connect it to another computer via the external USB HDD controller.
These external HDD 2.5 case are not expensive and you can buy it in every store of the computer.

    Hello

NVIDIA GTX 7xx or 9xx series graphics cards will not work in your PC.  The BIOS in "chicago" mothererboard is not compatible with the video BIOS in the graphics card.  You will need to get an older card chart such as the one of the below listed OEM HP graphics cards. Depending on the graphics card, you may need to replace the power suplly.
