Black error recovery screen

My laptop using vista windows and instead of shut down my system I'll set low power mode.  When I start upwards the black "windows error recovery" screen appears saying that windows is not shut down successfully and I can restart in safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode command prompt or start windows normally.  This happens when there is an open program and windows goes into low power mode its own.
Can someone tell me how to solve this problem, or what is the cause.
Thank you

    Hello

Looks like something was wrong with the recovery process and now Windows may start t. Maybe something messed with the registry or a few important Windows files, so I think that the only option to get rid of it using the Toshiba recovery disc. It will wipe the entire HARD disk and restore the factory settings, normally it should work.

Just so enter the Toshiba Recovery disk and follow the instructions on the screen. Windows will be reinstalled, and you get back to factory settings. :)

    Restore point:

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Hi I recently got windows 7 Professional 64-bit my Thursday school last burn on a dvd. Everything seemed fine after installation, and such as Saturday when he starts in front of the screen of bio and then pop up with error recovery windows telling me that windows wasn't one to repair or start normally anyway would it continue to go to this windows error recovery screen bit whatever I chose. These events eventually led me to believe that my hard drive has failed in which I had a brand new only on Sunday and installed fine all appeared while Monday morning he started to blow upward with the same error message I could try the repairs say it was very good, try and boot and it would restart again. Fortunately I was able to install my Vista Edition home premium 64-bit, which seemed to be ok for most of the day until yesterday when it grew up the windows on error with the options to use the last configuration or start normally (due to the recent hardware or software changes, but I have not install anything new in terms of software or hardware) that works , but im not sure for how long. Repair system solves most of the start-up problems.  Some computers have startup repair pre-installed otherwise you will need a CD/DVD of Windows Vista.   If your system still does not boot in Windows, follow these steps to repair the boot sector.

  • Error on screen blue/black (cannot start pc)

In the middle of the day that my pc everything went black without reason... by the time I could still hear people talking about other software, and they could hear me fine. I restarted my computer, but when he started upward I got was a black screen with colored horizontal lines. Whenever I try to start my pc it does this or is a blue screen that has repair options. I also try to reset my pc everything but it says "Insert your installation or windows recovery media" who am I to all too well. but I tried to put the windows disk 8 in which he refused to take.

    Help, please!

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem, I understand that your computer has become suddenly black and now in any start-up situation with the blue screen repair option, correct me if I'm wrong.

Blue screen (sometimes referred to as errors or errors of STOP code black screen) errors occur if a serious problem, windows to shut down or restart unexpectedly. You might see a message that says: "Windows was arrested to avoid damaging your computer."

To better understand this issue, I would like to know the following information:

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
2 did you receive an error message before the computer went black?
    3. did you of recent changes to the computer before this problem?
    4. are you not able to start on the screen?
    5. When you say "I tried to put the windows disk 8 in which he refused to take", is the DVD drive on the computer that works well or not the same bed on another computer in Windows 8 support?

When you say "on the repair options, I try to restore my PC but it requires a password for my account profile computers that I have disabled months ago" I suggest you try the enter without specifying a password and check if it allows to connect to the user profile that you have disabled the password long ago.

If you are not able to connect with the system restore without entering the password, and since you're telling the DVD of Windows 8 refuse to take, I suggest you to create recovery USB Windows 8 media and then try to repair the computer.

    Create a recovery USB disk

    Method 1: Auto repair:

    (a) when your computer starts, wait for the logo of the manufacturer check the option of start menu, it will usually F12.
    (b) the start menu key can be different with each manufacturer. If you are unable to find the start menu button, you can consult the user manual.
    (c) restarts the computer, when you see the logo of the manufacturer, continue to press the Boot option menu key to enter the boot menu and change the option to boot in DVD ROM.
    (d) once you start your computer by using Windows 8 DVD or system repair disc, a black screen is displayed with the gray text "press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press a button on any.
    (e) select the exact time and the type of keyboard.
    (f) click on repair your computer in the lower left corner
    (g) click on troubleshooting, advanced option and then click on auto repair.

Method 2: If the method above to perform the automatic repair does not help, I suggest to follow the article below and try to run the system restore.

  • "Windows Error Recovery" displays at startup

original title: when I turn on my computer I get a black screen that says "Windows Error Recovery".

He then said: "cannot start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. "To solve the problem:

It said to put in my Windows installation disc and restart and then use the "repair your computer".

I put the disc and start again, so the same screen came. Then I hit OK to start Windows normally and a screen that says "Windows Boot Manager: could not start Windows."

I keep hitting good for all options and keeps it running across 3 screens. Does anyone know what I need to do?

How to start windows from a cd or dvd

If the page install Windows does not appear and you are not asked to press a key to start (or "boot") from CD or DVD, you may have to specify that your computer use its CD or DVD drive as the boot device. This means that you must set the CD or DVD drive as the first startup device in the basic input/output system (BIOS). Here's how:

    1. Turn on your computer, insert the Windows installation disc, and then restart your computer.

    2. Newer computers usually display a startup (or boot) menu. In the start menu, select "Configuration of the BIOS," or "BIOS settings," or something similar.

      Note:

      • Procedures for this vary depending on the manufacturer. Check the documentation that came with your computer or visit the website of the manufacturer of the computer. Each computer has its own options of starting (or starting) and access to the configuration of the BIOS. If your computer lacks a start menu, look for a message that says "Configuration of the BIOS", "Settings of the BIOS", or something similar, and then press the appropriate key when prompted to display the BIOS Setup screen.

    3. The BIOS Setup screen. On the BIOS Setup screen, select the option called "Boot order" or something similar.

    4. Select your CD or DVD drive as the first boot device.

Restart your computer, and then start Windows from the installation or the DVD CD

    Startup Repair

If you have a Windows Vista installation disc, you need to restart (boot) your computer using the installation disc. If you do not restart your computer from the disk, the option to repair your computer will not appear.

If you have a Windows Vista installation disc:

    1. Insert the installation disc.

    2. Restart your computer.

Click the button start , click the arrow next to the button lock and then clickRestart.

    3. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

    4. Choose your language settings, and then click Next.

    5. Click on repair your computer.

    6. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.

    7. In the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair. Startup Repair can invite you to make choices as it tries to solve the problem, and if necessary, it may restart your computer, because it makes the repairs.

If the Startup Repair tool is an option of recovering preinstalled on your computer:

    1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

Click the button start , click the arrow next to the button lock and then clickRestart.

  • Do one of the following:

    • If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you will need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

    • If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to repair, and then press and hold F8.

  • In the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlightRepair your computer and press ENTER. (If repair your computer is not listed as an option, then your computer does not include startup as a preinstalled recovery option repair).

  • Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next.

  • Select a user name and password, and then click OK.

  • In the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair. Startup Repair can invite you to make choices as it tries to solve the problem and, if necessary, it may restart your computer, because it makes the repairs
