Black MacBook does not start

I have a 10 year old black Macbook, which does not start when a battery is installed.  If it is connected without battery installed, it lights up, but if there is a battery in it, even if it is plugged in, it will get the startup sound and the screen of the Apple gray, then turn off.  I got a new battery and charge it where the charger turned green, but the results are the same.

Any suggestions?

It is difficult to say what is happening with this machine, since the time and wear are considerations. I don't know what version of the operating system that you use, but there is a sequence of things you should do - in order of severity.

    Please tell me the solution...

I'm sure that if you looked at the requirements on the box, you would see that you do not respect the minimum requiremnts to run the game.

You need at least a Core 2 Duo E6600 or better cpu and 2 gigabytes of memory.

  • My MacBook does not start and fires after the Apple logo. I received this error via FirstAid detail in disk utility.

    Hi Apple/community,

    I need a help.

What it means? Operation failed! My MacBook Pro does not start. It cuts after the loading screen. What will happen?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Well, it seems that your MacBook Pro hard drive has failed and cannot be repaired by disk utility.

Try to reboot into single user mode: How to start your Mac in single user mode or verbose--Apple Support

If it works, try to repair the disk with this command:

    fsck -fy

  • MacBook does not start without warning, please help I'm losing my mind

MacBook pro froze performs a simple operation. Got the wheel turns and could not enter the finder, etc. Did a hard reboot. Now the computer does not start. I get the apple journal and the bar for a minute or two and then a zero symbol IE forbidden - a circle with a line through it.

Surprisingly, it is less than two months after a similar disaster where the computer would not suddenly start. In this case, I was able to get repaired the program apple logic board (the problem was compatible with the congenital fail GPU result).

Incredibly this time the macbook seems to be in even worse shape. I don't get anything useful from the startup keys.

cmd R - take me in a gray screen no symbol

D - no symbol grey screen

option D - it took a while but eventually I got to choose the network, then it seemed to freeze on the globe

option - strangely this brings me to a screen asking me to choose the wireless network, but it does not all networks in the box. weird - this happens even with a simple bootable usb key

option cmd R - annoys me to the world, but the world does not revolve

T - puts me the screen of the target disk, but the disk is unreadable from another computer

cmd S / cmd V - gives me a code screen and then freezes

Shift - takes me to zero cross again

C - think for awhile, but let me on an undefined gray screen

(I need some advice on the start-up of the thumb. Pressing C should force the startup of the thumb. I did an inch bootable with el capitan. However, I am not convinced that my thumb works on a functional mac either - I just can't get a macbook functional 2009 to start the boost by pressing C, although it starts from the thumb if I press option and go through the menu. Weird.)

Help, please. Urgent need to use the computer and access the data on it.

Even if you have just a few ideas that would be useful.

Can I assume that you have a 2009 MBP?

You have your data backed up?

Have you tried SMC and NVRAM resets?

Have you tried a secure boot?

Take our installation disc and use the one with the Apple Hardware Test instructions on it and run the original test.

Note that an error free AHT is inconclusive.

  • Black 2 does not start

My 2 black lights, but he currently goes to the start menu. It does not start from the internal drive, or ANY 32-bit windows media 8.

He sees recovering black USB, but try to select results in a black screen for a few seconds, then it returns to the start menu.

Its solved! It turns out that my iso was corrupted, so even if it passes the checksum and extraction, USB resulting was not bootable.

  • R51 has black screen - does not start

This question has been taken before, but I think I may have a unique situation.

My R51 worked perfectly and was maintained during the 8 years that he was with me. I wanted to update my RAM and downloaded the update to the BIOS and chipset drivers updates.

After that the tension I pulled the old 256 MB RAM sets under the keyboard and the bottom of the machine. Then I inserted the only 2 GB of RAM into its slot under the keyboard and reassembled it.

    Black screen / no start

Went out the 2 GB replaced sets of 256 MB and it worked fine for a few hours that I looked for reasons why the 2 GB would not work.

' Sudenly the screen goes black and the closed system.

It will supply (battery light / light green status), but the screen is black and it does not start. The fan is running and the battery costs.

I tried hitting F12 and F8 but nothing.

Then, I stored it down and pulled the chip near the connector of the screen and replaced by a spare part I had in hand... still nothing.

From the CPU and replaced by another I had on hand - nothing new.

I put all the oringinal gear back in place and tried to put pressure on the Board of Directors for the boot but still nothing.

Help, please! I'm not very tech savvy but as you can see I'm not afraid to try.

    Thank you

    Thanks George!

I was able to get the other 51 R spare parts and does the job!

Send this message to him now.

I want to send my thanks to all on this forum. It was the first time ever, I cracked the case on a laptop. Thanks to posts in these forums, I had confidence and information to see the job through.

I have more no fear an attempt to repairs on the Thinkpad.

  • My MacBook does not start

When I power my MacBook I just see this black screen with the Apple sign and launch, the launch bar gets to the end, but nothing happens, it does not boot the OS, can anyone help me. Thank you

    You can try:

Reinstall El Capitan without erasing the drive

Please make sure that you back up.

    1. Restart the computer. Immediately after that the chime hold down the command and R until the Utility Menu appears.
    2. Select disk utility, then click on the continue button.
    3. Select the withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) entry of the volume of the list to one side.
    4. Click first aid icon in the toolbar. Wait until the button is active, then click it.
    5. Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
    6. Select Reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.

Also, see this tip for user: basic steps for the OS X upgrade.

The above is mainly for a 2015 new MacBook or 16. Unfortunately, you have not provided information about what you have. If you have a MacBook older above works for El Capitan if that is what you have installed now. If this isn't the case, then see:

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive

Please make sure that you back up.

    1. Restart the computer and after the chime hold down the command and R until the Utility Menu appears.
    2. Choose disk utility from the Utility Menu and click on the continue button.
    3. Disk utility charges and select layouts withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) the list entry side.  Click the first aid tab, and then click the repair disk button. If disk utility reports any errors that have been corrected, then again run repair disc until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions .
    4. Once the process is complete, quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
    5. Select reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.

  • MacBook does not start (even in safe mode)

Hi, I have a MacBook pro that won't start. When I turn it on, I hear the ring of priming, but then the screen stays black. I tried all possible troubleshooting recommendation, that I could find on the internet, but nothing makes a difference. None of the startup option keys (start in safe mode, mode disk target, selection of the boot drive, etc.) anything. I can reset the PRAM, but nothing else has even made a difference. All I see is a black screen

Last night, I tried to install another OS in a dual-boot configuration, so I was messing around with partitions on my hard drive. I thought that the worst case scenario, I could always reinstall the OS. Can really break the complete formatting of the hard drive boot sequence? I thought that a hardware failure would prevent me from booting from a USB stick recovery.

The computer is a MacBook Pro 15 "start 2013I think.

    Thanks for your time

    Command-R works.

Laptop will not start. Power led lights up. Fan turns for a few seconds then stops, once again spins and stop.
    HARD disk rotates.

No presentation of the screen. Nothing appears on the AC voltage ordinary.when his shown as a green light.
    I checked...
    1. open bettery and put it again after 5 min. (result: nothing comes)
    2. open bettery and direct what AC does not rise no matter what?
    3. open the hard drive and put it again after 10 min (result: Noting happens to display) also change hard drive.

Please tell me wht to do now?

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here.
Did you do something that might be responsible for this? Something like the update of the BIOS?

If I understand you well portable stays all the TIME and everything is as usual, but there is nothing on the screen. Try to connect the external display on your machine and check if something will be displayed on the external screen.

Please test first and send feedback.

Searched the web. This seems to be a common problem with Toshiba laptops.
Common fix is supposed to be the power button that is held for a minute or two with battery. This does not work in this case.
I would rather not throw the laptop in the bin...

Any ideas before doing the Act, would be greatly appreciated.

    Skips

Something like this can happen on any laptop so there is nothing directly with Toshiba or any other laptop manufacturer.
Sometimes this kind of behavior can occur after unsuccessfully BIOS updated. Have you can be made to update the BIOS or anything that may be responsible for this?

I can't say for sure, but somehow I think the BIOS is screwed.

  • Black screen, does not start in safe mode - how do I restart my mac

Hello, I have a MacbookPro, that all of a sudden will not start. I believe that the problem - from what I've read-, is that memory is simply too fulll. I tried to start in Safe Mode, but of course it doen't work. The screen displays a small bar as it loads, but after a while goes back to the same blank screen and nothing happens. I tried waiting half an hour, but nothing changes. I have not tried to launch utility disk in Recovey Mode because I'm afraid of what will happen to my files. Unfortunately, I unwisely postponed to back up files and now I'm afraid to do anything that my fry them all without me even realizing it. Can you offer any solution that is as safe as possible?  I don't have a cable Thunderbolt.

    Thank you

If you think that the MBP storage is full and not allowing you to start, try the target disk mode:

  • Re: Black magic does not start on my Satellite Pro

    Hi there guys

I have a program that I have loaded on my PC laptop Toshiba Pro. Its an official black drawings magic program related to video Production.
The program is designed to work with Windows 7 but he hesitates because it is start and then gives an error window that says that there is a flaw in the aticfx32.dll prog.

The strange thing is that the program will start when the computer is in safe mode and give the correct opening screen.
Obviously I can't use it in safe mode as I have all the correct connections of the machine.

Is the strangest thing is that I was able to make it work on 2 other machines one with XP and one with Vista and it controls the video speed very well. (the other machines are workstations so I can't really use it, I need to be portable)
Someone else saw the above error? and why it starts ok in safe mode?

    Andy

    Hello Andy

Toshiba doesn't support any third party application, so please, contact the program manufacturer and ask for help.
They have the best experience with own product and should be able to help.
