Black screen HELP!

I just got Intel 82845 G/GL/GE/PE/GV for my Windows XP 2000 * and I was trying to speed up my display of punk with the resolution and I hit a tree stump. I set my resolution to 800 x 600 and my screen restarted (as usual), then, when I thought that my display will return to the top, it does not. I can't visually boot XP, loading menu pop-up, then when its made, closes, then all black screen right. WHAT I'M DOING!

Start in safe mode. Open Device Manager and right-click on Intel in the display section. Choose uninstall, and check the box to delete the driver also. Then click on ok or whatnot to do.

Restart in normal mode and let autoscan Intel website to install the latest driver for you.

Enjoy.

  • Pavilion MS225: all on one black screen help

Hi, from Thursday morning, I noticed a light flickering on the screen on and off during the day, then that night, the screen went black all of a sudden, I could put in sleep mode and wake him up, things went very well after that.  I turned it off for the night and kept overnight get this screen black (I could barely see the bottom of screen and icons) but I was able to see my login page for a few seconds when wake-up mode 'sleep'.

I went to updates and saw that the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver need updated, so I tried and failed so he can install from Windows. I could see the screen enough to get on the industrial site and uninstall and reinstall. I reinstalled graphic discs too. Now, it seems to work very well, not black screen or flashing for about 5 hours now since the update the Realtek device. I was wondering if that was the question all along, is that this driver not getting updated cause screen problems? I also installed AMD Catalyst Install Manager and it updated the drivers.

Honestly, I don't know much about computers and it is the only one I also gives access, any help would be appricated! Thank you

    Hi there @slyn1234,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, HP experts and other support staff.  I understand that your computer screen went black, and after updating the driver it works again.  I'm happy to help you with this.

In response to your question, as to whether that was the problem, I'll give you a qualified Yes. It may be that the driver has been updated but that something has happened to the existing driver, the file has been corrupted, or another program or driver was installed that are in conflict. Another option is that a setting has been changed somewhere; There are several possibilities.

If this kind of thing happens again, see if you can boot your system with the help of computers HP - safe mode of Windows 7. Windows safe mode will load with the base drivers and is a way to access your system, if it seems that there is a software problem. Can be modified in Mode safe as parameters to display, or drivers, or uninstalled applications that may not be easy to dismantle a normal start.

Another useful to look at document is: HP PC - computer won't start (Windows 7). I hope this helps.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

I have the installation could of thought was wrong somewhere so I reinstalled the operating system again, but the same problem. I installed some updates and Service pack 1. Replacing the hard drive means a re-installation of the operating system.  Resettlement reign essentially all software issues that may have accompanied the failure of your hard drive.  So the answer is Yes it should solve the problem.

If you don't have recovery media please contact HP using the information provided above.  I suggest you contact instead of trying to create your own media.  As this will probably be very difficult and problematic on a failing hard drive.

  • Upper half of the video is missing (black screen) - Help!

    missing top half of video.jpg

I work with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and I installed updates. This is my first time posting and I only use CS6 for a few months so I'm still a beginner. That being said, here's my dilemma: now half video missing one superior project I worked on yesterday without any problem. I didn't have a problem before and it's the first time I'll have to deal with that. For some reason, the problem is only occurring when I use of files larger than 1 GB. When I switch to a low quality video file which is 160 MB, for example, I don't have the problem of lack the upper half of the video. I also tried export to see if the problem is corrected during the export process, but it will also be released lack the upper half of the video.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We had exactly the same problem in our software.  We have reduced to updates of windows under MS technology MS13-057.  Specifically, on kb2834904 XP and windows 7 kb2803821.

For us, it happens when the decoding of WMV9 files.  Not all uses of decoding WMV are affected, but I have confirmed that when linking the WMV decode DLL to a sample for RGB32 video grabber, executives are black on top, so that points directly to the internal data of the dll to decode WMV decoding.

You can uninstall these windows updates to fix your problem.  I hope that Adobe can join Microsoft to fix this properly as soon as possible.

I just ran the last update for my iPad and now it just continuously reboots to the black screen with the Apple Logo. I left plugged in all night and still no change. Hard restarting does not help, neither do not connect the unit to aMacBookPro. When I do this, iTunes complains that it can not connect because the iPad 'expires '. Now it is disconnected, but I can't turn it off. Even close the lid will not extinguish it. Any ideas?

Try the following. It seems yo may have to let the battery drain is completely:

    - iOS: do not respond or does not light

-Also try DFU mode recovery mode post-test

How to put iPod touch / iPhone in DFU "Karthik doodles."

-If failed and that you cannot completely turn completely the iOS device, leave the battery to drain completely. After loading a hour repeat the foregoing.

    -Try a different cable

    -Try on another computer

S ' there is still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at an Apple store Genius Bar is in order.

    Hello

    No problem

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Download the ISO relevant among the links below.  If you are not sure of the version, the product page for your laptop shows it was delivered with the 64-bit version, so try first.

    Windows 7 32 bit

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  One time created, or if you already have this, insert the rescue CD in Notepad and restart at the start of it.  Select repair your computer and choose the command prompt.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart the laptop.

Let me know how it goes and if there are still errors, include them with your next post.

  • HP Pavilion G6 black screen at startup... Help!

I have a HP pavilion G6 that has worked well for like half a year. Today I wanted to start my laptop, but it seems to be stuck on a black screen (with my slider appeared) after the HP loading screen.
Sometimes, at the start, he says 'prepairing failback', but the results after loading at the same black screen.
I tried to solve this problem with the following things:
    1. hard reset (turn off everything, hold the power button / stop 30 seconds, all lights and start-up etc..)
2 replacement RAM. Someone from the Forum said it worked, but it didn't.
3 tried to take off all USB devices such as mouse, adapter DC etc. and starts but didn't work

I don't know if it has nothing to do with the startup problem, but a month ago I tried to do a factory reset, but my laptop seems to be stuck on the same black screen. I couldn't find a solution for this too.

I really hope that someone can help me without sending my laptop to HP...

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    You are welcome

Error code 24 characters for short drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the question of commissioning.

As your laptop is listed as coming with Windows 8, it should still be under warranty, so my best advice would be to contact HP and arrange for the replaced disk - if necessary, you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

    Kind regards

  • 15 - d017: d017-15 update BIOS black screen at startup, Win + B keys do not help... How to unbrick?

I try to get my 15-d017cl to start after upgrading the bios, here's what happened:

-SSD installed to replace lack of hard drive, computer was working fine but disk was bad sectors (checked at default computer w/2nd hdd)

-enabled Legacy support in the BIOS, so I could install w7 Pro 64-bit

-installed w7 Pro 64 bit, no problems, started in Windows, everything works as expected

-installed the Audio driver from the HP site for this 15-d017cl

-site upgrade BIOS from HP for 15-d017cl, program says BIOS flash 100% then hung

-After about 10 minutes, I repowered the black screen of the machine

-start by pressing F10 key poster standard white text on the screen 'F10 '.... Configuration of the BIOS options, but it crashes it

-start while now pressed the keys Win + B with or without a USB key (which has a different BIOS update) just hangs

How do I unbrick my machine?

I tried to download the 1.5 GB for a USB key that restores the BIOS update, but the download stops after 130-160 MB, I tried 6 times. Is HP corking downloads from their FTP server?

Help! Any ideas will be appreciated.

My model supports the Win + B keys to cancel the BIOS update?

Y at - it another site where I can d/l the USB tool to roll back the update of the BIOS?

    Help!

    Hi mscir,.

You make the W + B bad smell!

First thing, it's that you need to load the BIOS DEFAULT settings

You turn the computer off (if its currently turned off the coast)

Turn it back on, then press the ESC far away so that you can access the START MENU

Press F10, press F9 and then press F10 to save the changes and then press on enter if you are prompted.

If the fix above does not solve your problem, then perform emergency Bios dump

Many computers of portable HP have a BIOS for emergency recovery feature that allows to retrieve and install the latest well-known version of the BIOS from the hard drive, as long as the hard drive remains functional. This emergency recovery feature is separated from the BIOS and is designed to operate in the event of a catastrophic failure of the BIOS.

    I am running Windows XP

    clint341,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.  We cannot guide you more precisely by changing the BIOS settings that the BIOS settings are specific to your motherboard.  However, most (if not all) parameters of the BIOS have an option to restore the default BIOS (sometimes called "default opitimized").  It may be an option in the menu that you highlight, then press enter or it can be assigned to an F key and States at the bottom of the screen, press F? for the default settings.  I hope this helps.  If you are still not able to reset, check with the manufacturer of PC for more information about the BIOS. • HELP, (start black screen, floppy drive 0 error of research)

at the start, it's a black screen saying "diskette drive 0 seek failure", with the option to press F1 to continue.  I don't have a floppy drive on my pc and have no idea how that happen suddenly.

I did and went everywhere for a solution without success.  I know it's an easy fix, but for the life of me, I don't know how.  As it is, I need to be on the pc press F1, whenever I get updates, etc.

Please help me find the correct solution and I will be eternally grateful.  Thank you in advance.

Your computer has a floppy inside drive?  If so, the drive has failed and should be replaced.  If not, or if you aren't sure what a floppy drive is :-) then you must go in your computer's BIOS Setup and disable the floppy drive option.  How do you and when you do this varies check so a computer at another manual support site or your computer for details online.
