Black screen when closing and activating/deactivating my admin user account - Vista Business 32 bit
Hello
I just formatted and reinstalled Vista Business, I noticed a slow anomaly at the start of my laptop, when my user account on my admin account (I have a black screen for 5 sec). On the contrary, my Admin on my user account, this can take up to 15 sec. During this time of waiting, I have only a black screen (no dekstop).
1 KSOD (not sure it is) during startup, slow to start (in my case, windows logon and the user interface with 'Welcome' appeared)
2 KSOD by logging into my account (before appearing the dekstop)
3 KSOD when my account is closed
4 KSOD when I change to another account, that is to say, of the user account to the account admin (KSOD for more than 15 sec)
Programs at startup: no Autoruns, Rollback Rx, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (my graphics driver), Hitman Pro
Thanks for your help!
Hello Ramaflore,
If I understand correctly, you saw this black screen problem before a format. After format and reinstall Windows, you still see the behavior of the black screen.
This means two things:
- There is a program that was previously installed and has been reinstalled and that is the cause.
- The hardware is at fault.
We will perform a clean boot to remove all third-party software startup that can interfere with the normal operation of the machine:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
Secondly, I would recommend running the diagnostics of equipment provided by your manufacturer.
Let us know.
Best regards

black screen on startup with active cursor
I have an old Dell Dimension 3000 has a processor Celeron, 512 MB RAM and was purchased in 04. Despite his age, he has been a good PC and is mainly a backup unit when the main PC is used by my wife. Recently in November 2011 I lit it and as usual, Microsoft has had an update for me to download if I choose to. I downloaded the update, (can't tell you what update) and restart my PC. The next time I turned it on I got the Dell splash screen and the Microsoft logo screen then black screen with a cursor active. After reboot, I hit F12 and chose something like "go to last good known configuration" with the same black screen thereafter. I kept rebooting and some so chose an option "Repair or r", and after that he went by the disk check and the areas I was once again on the black screen. I then found my original installation disk and tried to start out with the same as before resutls... black screen. I forgot to mention that Safe Mode does not work, I rebooted with no media in the CD drive, and I'm at a standstill. Does anyone have the answers to my problem? Thanks in advance for all your help.
Wayne
It's a shame, that we do not know what update it was!
Do you have to manually download and install updates or use automatic updates? If the latter, which is enabled:AutomaticDownload updates for me, but let me choose when to install themNotify me but don't automatically download or installFor later use, as a general rule, you must install ONLY the updates critical or high priority. Installation software optional or made optional hardware update can be risky! (There are some exceptions to the optional software, for example, root certificates update.)You can try different methods to repair your installation, but if you can simply perform a system restore, which should solve the problem fairly quickly. Then simply determine what updates (remember: only critical or priority!) you still need.I don't know if SR work because you are having problems to start in Normal Mode. If you're lucky, you'll be able to boot mode safe mode with command prompt. If you do this, follow these instructions:Choose the date before the updates (15 November?).If you can not do the above, then post back for tips on how to use your Dell XP 'relocation' of brand CD CAREFULLY. You don't want to do something drastic like reinstall Windows! -
Start-up problems: I have a black screen when I log in the menu
When I start my computer, I get a black screen when I log in the menu. I can still access the computer on safe mode, but I can't find a solution. Antivirus Avira found no detection, so I don't think that's associated virus.
Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.
Restore point:
Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.
Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...
Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
Black screen when the computer starts.
Original title: Windows startup
Since today, when I start my computer (windows 7), he crosses to the Welcome to windows screen, then goes to a black screen with just the active mouse - no office. I used ctrl-alt-del and looked at the running processes. There were 2 'runonce' process running, and when I stopped one, it is loaded on the desktop. This happens everytime I turn on the computer. Is there any solution for this?
Hello
Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.
From the description of the problem, I can understand that your computer goes to a black screen after login. I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to help us better understand the issue.
- What happens when you right click the mouse on the black screen. Do you get the options?
- What is the brand and model of your computer?
Especially this problem appears due to lack, corrupt or incompatible display driver problem, however, there may be other causes as third-party programs collide, virus/malware etc as well attack.
You can try these methods mentioned below and check if it helps:
Method 1: Please follow the suggestions listed in the link below:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/why-is-my-screen-black-when-i-start-Windows-7
Method 2: I suggest you to run Microsoft Safety Scanner to search for viruses and malware and remove if necessary.
The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
Hope this information was helpful and let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help.
Black screen when viewing of DTV, can hear the program, but no image.
original title; Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 - black screen when viewing of DTV, can hear the program, but no image.
When I set up my Windows XP Media Center Edition PC to view DTV, I used the Setup etc., XP scanned and found all the available DTT channels. I thought as much, worked for BBC1, BBC2, worked, then I went to view ITV1 and other channels, could hear the noise perfectly, but there is no picture, just a black background. He used to work because I previously installed the computer. However, wouldn't be a difference that the TV signal will of the antenna, in a block of TNT, and then in the computer, there always used to work. I have that, it is not a signal problem because I could watch the TNT cable SCART on the computer and the image and the sound is fine just using the freeview box. It seems to be the Media Center. Please can someone help me? Thank you
Apparently, this was caused by an outdated ATI graphics card driver. I recommend upgrading your graphics card driver to resolve this issue. Should work fine then
Manufacturers recovery disks normally do not have Service Options; they are normally a relocation to the factory only settings option.
Here is the guide to repair Options using a Vista DVD from Microsoft.
If you do not or can not borrow a Microsoft DVD there is a download of a file ISO of Vista Startup Repair available that you can put on a Bootable floppy to make the above startup repair and that the method is recommended by a large number of posters in these Forums.
Get a black screen BIOS afer and before Windows logon
So get a black screen after BIOS and before the Windows logon screen. I checked the RAM and one on two RAM sticks that was bad. But I still have the black screen. I tried an external monitor but still a black screen. I tried all the normal things (verification of the restore point disc, e.g. via the command prompt, startup repair, etc.) and no luck. I ran a test to check the hard drive, and it is impossible to find the hard drive. But then I ran AVG anti-virus, the AVG Live (bootable CD) and at the very start gave me this error: 106 error to the power of disk on life: 8768 (365 days + 8 hours) and underneath were basically the same error, just different numbers. But it still allowed me to run a scan and he was going through the files ok so she did not see the hard drive and files (contrary to the test of hard drive and yes the hard drive test was a bootable cd of same manf. like the hard drive), he found no virus. Even when I ran Defender in offline mode. Then I tried to re - install the operating system on the same drive with a cd. When he was going through the first part of the establishment where it was drivers and so forth: I kept getting the BSOD. Then I took the drive from the laptop and install it in another laptop but she has done the same thing, black screen, so I thought it was the hard drive. But then I begin another hard drive from the laptop and put it in the laptop original and he gave me the black screen and I know that the hard drive was good, she was an operating system that starts when I put it in the not troubled laptop. So any ideas anyone? Would it be possible that the all three things at once: RAM and hard drive laptop motherboard? Any help would be appreciated. Yet once, bios starts, just to Gets a black screen and does nothing after the bios but before the windows logon. The operating system is Vista and it is a Dell laptop, Studio. Any ideas?
Thank you
Black screen when loading apps on the device Dev Alpha
Dear all,
can someone give me advice on the question? (I have found no similar post, so please forgive me if duplicate messages...)
My configuration:
-Alpha OS Dev device: 10.0.4.197
-SDK Webworks 1.0.2.9
I always get a black screen when I deploy & launch applications for the test (I use a debugging token)... I'm afraid that I may have problems of compatibility between the version of the OS and SDK Webworks... I'm about to upgrade the unit right now, but if anyone else has experienced the same problems, please let me know! Any help is very appreciated!
Moreover, the two training simulators & VMWare work very well...
Thank you very much
Fable III has a black screen when the game restarts in the locker room.
I loaded Fable III, but the locker room screen was black. I went to Nvidia and downloaded the latest driver for the Ge Force 7800 GTX. I have Windows 7 with an Intel dual core & 4 GB Ram. I rebooted Fable III but I still have a black screen when the game restarts in the locker room. The internet shows that my CPU will launch the game. How can I solve this problem of black screen?
Thank youOriginal title: Fable III problem
Hello
Fable III is a graphically demanding game designed for next generation equipment. Your computer must have both a powerful CPU (processor) and a graphic chipset (video card). The video card must also be using the latest video card drivers for the highest level of performance and compatibility between your hardware and Fable III.
The issue is limited to Fable III for PC? Are you facing other than display issues when reading Fable III for PC?
You can view the following link to learn more about this:
Black screen when launching the virtual desktop
I have a user who gets a black screen when you connect to their virtual desktop (linked clone). I tried to delete the profile and the regeneration it with no luck. It seems that I'm in the office and I can send Ctrl + Alt + Delete to start the Task Manager, but it's just a black screen. I tried to change the RDP protocols, but the results are the same. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your answer "vcpguy". The solution was to delete the profile and recompose the link clones (specialized basin). I'm just assuming recomposing would have solved the problem since that removes the profile completely unlike a refresh settings of I tried first.
import FLV files results in a black screen when he's on stage
import FLV files results in a black screen when he's on stage. Why is this happening? I have a swf file, then using swf video converter convert. I then import the video and when it is put on the stage she translates into a black screen that had no pictures. This happens even when I play the swf file.
The converted file works fine when I open it with a Media Player for this indicates clearly that the flash is having a problem.
The SWF-> Video converter is very certainly at fault for your problems. That's why I think you should either use ActionScript to import the SWF file to play or import once in a new document and export it as a video directly from flash. I used FLV for a long time and I've seen a lot of questions. This is no easy task to convert a SWF to a video. I think it makes more sense to let Adobe do the work, it was designed to do.
