BlackBerry 10 what is the factory reset (erasing data) on the BB10 devices?

Hi, I saw this article on the uselessness of resets factory Android.

"Wipe factory" on Android devices is not actually get rid of your naked selfies - FierceCIO

So my question is, are the BB10 factory resets any better?

What is the security of any kind on a BlackBerry?

A wipe of security on a BlackBerry10 device will delete all personal information, images, data, preferences, etc.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what are the benefits of using the spindle to spindle and BBM?

I have not used BBM again but was compose and send messages pins (peer-to-peer). Is this the same thing as the BBM and what are the benefits of each? Are they better than just SMS?  Would like to have an explanation, because I'm confused!  Thank you!!

BBM and PIN messages are messages sent from one BlackBerry to another.  The message is composed by the sender and goes through the secure server of the RIM before being delivered to the recipient.  They are only available for BlackBerry users.

The thing I like about them, it is how you can see if they have been received by the recipient.  Once the message reaches the recipient's phone, you will notice a small would be "at the beginning of your message.  In other words, that it is delivered.  When the recipient opens the message, who had "will change to a 'R' for 'reading'.  So now you know that it is actually received by the recipient.

One more great thing about these messages, it's that there is no length limit.  As you probably know, most carriers limit SMS 160 characters; not the case with these messages, they can be much longer.

BBM and PIN messages are of the same type of message, but with PIN messages, you are limited to just contact reception.  With BBM, you can have a lot of contacts on a cat, or you can broadcast a message to multiple contacts at the same time.

I hope this explains things for you.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what is the maximum size MicroSD card that can be used in a 8310?

I have browsed the positions and don't see it asked or answered.  What is the maximum size MicroSD card that can be used in a 8310?

According to what your BlackBerry OS is tells you what size microSD card you can buy. You can check under Options | Topic (will appear as v4.xx.xxx). Look at the table on the following link to see what size you can get - http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB05461

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what is the difference between the messages icon and the one with my e-mail address as title?

Hi, I'm new to blackberry. I just got a "BOLD", and some of the icons seem to be redundant. If someone could explain why I would really appreciate it. I had trouble getting the results of a search of forum so I apologize if this topic has been discussed recently.

What is the difference between 'messages' (which looks like an envelope) and the other envelope with the globe on it (which appears as [email protected])?

Can I delete one? I don't understand why there are two.

Also, why is it "medianet" and "browser"? They aren't going to the same place? What is an AT & T thing where they try to control the universe?

    Thanks for your help,

With the BlackBerry, you can have up to 10 "BIS" (BlackBerry Internet Service) email addresses, but also a company e-mail sent to your BlackBerry address.  It is also SMS (text) messages, PIN of PIIN messages and MMS messages.

Each BIS email address gets its own icon which will appear only this e-mail by e-mail address.  The Messages icon ALL E-mail addresses sent to the BlackBerry.  It will also display all messages in pine and optionally show the SMS (text) messages and phone calls, and IM still active cats.  But there is no icon for only PIN messages.

The fact that there is no way to separate the email from company to a simple icon is a point of contention for some users.  There is a product (Empower BES Mailbox - OTA / Web $20) which will create an icon that displays only the Enterprise email.  However, you can also create a saved search to display only the BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) email.

If you prefer using a simple icon of Messages or have separate icons for each email address is a matter of personal preference.  If you have only one or two emails being sent to your BlackBerry, there is probably little difference.  However, I have six accounts BIS as a BES account delivered and many prefer to have a place to look when I hear or feel that a new message has arrived.

In addition, equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard device, I'd rather be able to use the shortcut keys to access ALL the applications on my BlackBerry.  In fact, I have everything I don't need (including Messages, all messaging icons, address book, calendar, Notepad, etc.) in a folder called hidden since I never need them!

  • BlackBerry Q5 What is the 'protected_media' file and why can't I access it?

I went to file manager and saw a folder called 'protected_media '. Trying to open it gives me a "record not available: you don't have permission to access this folder" message. Why do I have this folder, and why I can't access it?

In addition, what is the "miscellaneous"? Why have a folder inside called "android"? Why can I go/misc/android/DCIM/camera and find copies of what is in the file/device? Delete "misc" without messing anything?

They said that with the ghost Commander you can open it but I do not use or install it ever cause depends on what you use. If you really want to put the files here you can do with the Commander gost and since this post is old enough, if you found nothing more useful to open it with or without any application you are happy to include it. Thank you.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what does the flashing light green?

    Hey all,.

Have a curve 8330.  I know what the red and blue lights indicator means, but that means the light green?  I have no new messages or missed calls.  He started in the last two weeks.

    Thank you.

    Rosie

    Welcome to the forums

The green light is usually an indicator of coverage. Go to Options > keyboard/screen and seeing set of coverage on the off position. Who help me?

You can also try a battery pull:
    1. remove the battery while the phone is turned on
    2. wait a few seconds before inserting it again
    3. wait for the long end of the boot process (takes a few minutes usually)

This clears most of the software problems that occur on the BlackBerry from time to time. You can also use Quickpull, a free application that simulates a battery pull without removing the battery: http://software.crackberry.com/product.asp?id=27660
A battery pull gets lost when using the applications memory and clears minor software errors that creep over time. The blackberry is running an operating system just like your PC is running windows and battery pull is the equivalent of a reboot / restart your computer.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what is the font used for the Bold 9780 for Arabic?

Hi everyone, hope you are doing well.

I use the Bold 9780 with the latest updates, works almost perfectly.

I copied the history of BBM message files to my PC, they open like sheets of M.O.Excel. Display messages in English, while Arab messages are just a few scratches.

I think the problem is that my laptop doesn't support the police who are using my BB for Arabic.

The plan is to install this font to be able to read the history of cats, the main problem is that I don't have no idea what font it is.

    Any help would be appreciated...

I finally figured it... It was released as a problem in the encoding of the file...

It should be UTF8 to read Arabic (and other languages)... I couldn't really change the encoding of the excel sheet, so I just changed the .doc extension and he suggested to move to another encoding...

Simply choose UTF8 and everything works fine = D

Thank you very much for your efforts!

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what's the problem with Roxio Media Manager?

I bought my first Black Friday Blackberry 8310 Curve. For some reason the Blackberry Desktop Manager installed and works quite well. However, when I open the screen Roxio Media Manager freezes and it does not even show my device. I have uninstalled cleanly and re-installed more than a dozen times and cannot operate. Also, we went and bought a graphics update and the sound card and installed them. The Roxio media manager ALWAYS freezes up and we must stop it.

I do a lot of Paintshop Pro and have these programs as well as other graphic software. I wonder if it's a software conflict? I don't see one. Or if the Roxio is a point of sale as someone posted before.

I spent hours and hours reading all I can on this subject and not online can not find an answer to anywhere. The main reason I want the Media Manager, is I want to make my own ringtones... that's all! The rest I can do without it. The BB Media Manager has the ability to make ringtones?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Apps missing after factory reset

My phone broken like the trackball wouldn't move, has obtained the vodafone for this problem, so I did a restore on my phone but there is no apps at all, all white in the download folder.

How do I get them back on my phone?

    Hello

You can simply re-download the apps.  If you had bought them through the BlackBerry App World, you can simply re-download them via BlackBerry App World, otherwise, you will have to redownload them from other places where you bought the of.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones what's the backlight on my Tour continue to?

All of a sudden (on the 4 or 5 days) my battery drains very quickly.  I take my phone from the charger at 8:30 and at the point where I'm driving home from work @ 17:00 that the battery is completely dead.

I noticed also just that there is something wrong with the backlight dimming.

You know how if you do not touch your phone for a long period of time (mine locks automatically) then the backlight fades slowly to black.  My phone turns on again until press you a button or do something to the phone.

Because I had the battery I noticed that, after having extended, no problems using my phone fades to black, and then immediately back light on its own. And always it all throughout the day, that's why I think it's killing my battery.

Anyone know why this is happening?  I tried to turn the phone off for a while and then again... nothing seems to help.

    Help!

Try to go through a clean application of BlackBerry software load. To do this see the link below:

How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software using BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Windows - KB11320

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB11320

Don't forget to backup your device before making this application load. Also be sure to test before you restore all the data.

    I hope this helps.
