  • Blackberry app in the world running on the Blackberry 10 Simulator

    Hello

    I would like to run blackberry apps world that I download on App world on the Simulator.

    I could do with the pre OS 10 simulators, but with the latest it doenst seem to work, no matter what Application download.

    I tried with different versions of the Simulator including 10.2.2_0X1444

    The Simulator to load correctly.

    I can browse the internet, so I know I have connectivity,

    I can go on the App World and then choose an application to download.

    The progress bar then moves as it downloads the file.

    However at this point, I'm getting the problem. Once the file is downloaded then just get the message 'Installation pending '.

    Is it possible to get an app in the blackberry world to run on the Simulator?

    answered my own question...

    Of

    https://DevNet.madewithmarmalade.com/questions/14729/test-launch-of-a-BlackBerry-bar-file-on-a-Devic...

    The reason is basically because the Simulator is x 86/intel architecture and we build for ARM (device architecture).

    We want to support the Simulator, but various other tasks (for example Windows Phone) platform support take priority for the forseable future. There are some difficulties to support the Simulator with an internal architecture on our side, graphics drivers, etc..

    Note that because the binaries, you can run in the device Simulator BB10 and aBB10 are different (if you use BlackBerry own SDK, it will compile two different binary, one for each architecture), you would not even test a real construction identical and there is always possibility of issue on the device, you do not see on the desktop.

  • BlackBerry App investigating the classic BlackBerry, T-Mobile and the WiFi calling app

    I am looking for on this forum after being (possibly) achieved through BlackBerry World (located here, so you can make reference to what I'm going to talk: https://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/35524900 ) this app is marked as 'BlackBerry Lmtd' being the developer, that's why it is implicit that BlackBerry updates to this app and is responsible for its support. I am at this point, after trying (for weeks) to find how this whole process of WiFi calling went down, I was told by T-Mobile at the level executive response that BlackBerry was next to insider support. In its current form the above application currently supports only prior 2 BB10 peripheral T-Mobile, the Q10 and Z10. Despite the classic hit the shelves of T-Mobile, despite the fact that T-Mobile as well as the TWO classic BlackBerry supports WiFi called, it seems to come down to this app gets an update. I write here wondering if there is information about the status of this application as well as the support with regard to devices. Will be it be updated to include the classic? Is this a known issue? Is this really T-Mobile app? Just anything, any kind of transparency or tiny tidbit of information be always so would appreciate! If anyone has information or can better direct me on where to take my survey, I am more than happy to wait for your answers! Thank you for your time.

    That's the beauty of this site... we do not work for carriers, nor for the BB. So, we can be truly independent and share more that they would be allowed to share. But, keep in mind that everything we know is therefore not official (unless it is a public site, such as the database of BB KB). We are sure that we are right on these points, but being not "in it", we can't know with 100% certainty.

    You're most welcome and good luck!

  • Approach new (and amazingly illogical) blackBerry client app in the world of BB

    A week or two ago, I started to see a lot less critical being represented in the client world BB for all applications, the number of existing comments indicated for this app on its title bar. For example, the title implies that there are 8 comments, but only 2 are presented. I thought it was a bug, so I pointed out to BlackBerry. Today, I got a response. Guess what...

    It turns out that it is a result of recent 'great idea' BlackBerry looking are now only to those whose phones have the same ID of device than the examiner. In other words, if you have for example the Z30 thereafter you will see comments made by Z30 users only. Forget about being able to read the comments from for example the owners Z10, Z3 or Leap.

    What a stupid idea. How an application is different between for example Z30 and Leap, or between the Q5 and Q10. This is the same application that runs on the same OS on almost identical devices. Why target more users access to customers so that there is usually so little of them in any case. If an application has several comments, but none of them for example a Z10 user then Z10 users will see NONE.

    It is understandable that the comments of another platform/OS are not for another OS (for example the comments of the Playbook is not for phones BB10) that most limit the visibility of comments to a specific MODEL of PHONE only is just crazy. No other app store does such a silly thing.

    When a new phone model comes out, it probably means that the people who buy it will see really ANY reviews of ANY applications until they have begin to post comments on this phone model themselves. And even if the new phone is not really different from existing models, like for example the jump of the Z30, which means that all applications to look and are working on it, just as they do on the Z30.

    I think that I don't have to explain how a very limited number of comments displayed for a specific phone model will affect sales of the app. On each new version of phone model, all providers must actually BEGIN to COLLECT the COMMENTS FROM SCRATCH for this phone model.   In the case of some of my apps, even if they have several comments, sometimes none of them has been presented for example a user Z3 or Leap, but until recently Z3 or Leap users could see them again while now they see NO CRITICISM of these applications either.

    Thanks to all those have commented here.  I did the product team BlackBerry World aware of the concerns expressed here on the comments filtering, and they agreed with the points that you all did.  There is an update to the BlackBerry World Server are planned for next week, and this behavior will be restored with this update.  So, you should see all the comments that appear again in a few weeks (update + time for cache refresh).

  • No Skype app in the Blackberry world

    I can't the Skype app in the Blackberry world. Not even when you use the search option. I get other applications that contain the word Skype, but not the official Skype app.

    When I try to install it from the Skype website, it brings me to a page of the application, but the download is not possible. The error tells me something on my connection, but is not the real cause. When I followed the link on my laptop, I get an error that there is no app id.

    Hi, SkyBerry, and welcome to the Skype community,

    Skype for BlackBerry OS 10.x is now available for download from the BlackBerry of the Amazon AppStore version.

    Kind regards

    Hello tinotendamukwaiwa

  • Q10 blackBerry I can not install any apps, showed the installation error

    Hi, I don't know what happened, but suddenly I couldn't install all the apps to the blackberry world. He is shown utf8 codec can't decode byte 0xe5. Can you help me to solve? Thank you!

    I would start with a security wipe then:

    To perform a security Wipe please follow the instructions below. Be sure and use the BB link to perform a backup before proceeding with the full wipe:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB33591

    Once the wipe is complete, you can restore your backup. Remember that the data in the backup can be the source of the original problem and restore can restore the problem, as well. To compensate for this, I do not recommend restoring the passage of the backup settings.

  • WebWorks app not to recognize the plugin for Blackberry app

    Hello! I'm portage a webapp Android to WebWorks. My Android application using Phonegap, so when I discovered the new WebWorks used to, it was a great relief. But the problem came when I tried to use the BlackBerry push service, because demand for some strange reason does not recognize the plugins I have installed through the console, just like the documentation says http://developer.blackberry.com/html5/apis/beta/blackberry.app.html.

    Since then I have removed everything that belonged to the push service and I installed the com.blackberry.app plugin to test the ways that they are supposed to work. It debugged in the Web Inspector and I have this message.

    ReferenceError: Can't find variable: blackberry

    This error came from this line in my code:

    Console.log ("the State of the screen is:" + blackberry.app.windowState);

    In my config.xml file, I have the line:

    I am new to this platform and I don't know if the plugins should be called somewhere in the html file or the js to make it work. Or is there something else wrong on how I use the plugins?

    BTW: my application uses the last cordova because I developed since the SDK WebWorks 2.0.0.54, but my app Android used Cordova 2.0.0 and this library is called in the html code. So, when I tried to change the cordova for the last file, the application didn't work, so I left there where he was.

    In the standard application of Cordova, the application calls app.initialize as follows (additional code left to show the implementation of the call and the scripts required):

            ...

    Which is defined in index.js as follows:

        initialize: function() {
            this.bindEvents();
        },

    Which subsequently called bindEvents

        bindEvents: function() {
            document.addEventListener('deviceready', this.onDeviceReady, false);
        },

    And records the event deviceready on the document listener. It is an event of Cordova and fires after that cordova.js has loaded and initialized.

    When occur, index.js continues to manage the event here:

        onDeviceReady: function() {
            app.receivedEvent('deviceready');
        },

    And we can see that receivedEvent can be used as a central event handler, if we so desire.

        receivedEvent: function(id) {
            var parentElement = document.getElementById(id);
            var listeningElement = parentElement.querySelector('.listening');
            var receivedElement = parentElement.querySelector('.received');

            listeningElement.setAttribute('style', 'display:none;');
            receivedElement.setAttribute('style', 'display:block;');

            console.log('Received Event: ' + id);
        }

    Note that the code inside receivedEvent is specific to the sample application by default.

    If you customize the code, it is important not to break the chain. More precisely until when you add the deviceready listener. Of course, there are other ways to get to this point, but if we find issues, it is better to return to the example of the most basic.

    If Cordova is indicating that he did not shoot within 5 seconds, there is not a lot of continuous loading on or Cordova has not properly load to the point where he can pull of the event.

    If you connect Web Inspector and then press ctrl + r in the Web Inspector to reload the application, the Console shows additional failures? (This will allow the newspaper display all outings since the start of the run.)

    Maybe in the network Panel, are there resources that could not load?

  • BlackBerry App that enables other applications on the device according to the events of time and/or location

    To create an ABC App that performs the following operations - are the points below as possible for the Blackberry OS 6 and 7?  Yes/No :-) - and whether links to the code samples.

    (0) is still active (though in the background, possible?), while in the background, it will be as described in (2), (3), (4) and (5) below.

    (1) see the other apps on the phone (what kind of applications are possible?)?   The following points (2) and (3) are mainly possible if (1) is possible.

    (2) can activate the apps and activities seen in (1)? (depending on the configuration of the user in ABC app)

    The applications can be started with the entry of parameter?

    (3) sends messages for background apps on the phone (from ABC app, depending on the configuration of the user in ABC app), who are running in the background.  (3A) is the model of Blackberry Sandbox allow applications to share data (files)?

    (4) you can make (2) and (3) above according to tell of a weather event

    (5) following the location of users (if the user allows) and designated operational entities (2) and (3) if the user reaches or crosses a specific location.

    Thank you

    Paul

    You can run (yet) background apps, although there was much demand for such a feature and most valid use cases provided. I can't imagine that this is not in the pipeline.

    You can not (yet) start other applications or communicate with them, but who was announced for BB10 and is called "invocation framework". At best, the details are still sketchy.

  • How to detect if the Android app is the reconditioned Blackberry version?

    My application can be easily repackaged for blackberry devices using its web portal.

    http://developer.BlackBerry.com/Android/documentation/using_the_bb_packager_1873331_11.html

    So, I can turn my .apk file in a .bar file that users can install on their devices BB10.

    My concern now would be to slightly change the user interface or disable certain features (invoicing app, Google Maps, some intentions) about the operating system.

    I should like, for example, to display a button of the card on legit Android devices and remove this button on the port of Blackberry. I also have some preferences related to the widget that have no reason to appear on a device BB10

    You know an ideal way to detect if the app is the one refurbished or the original apk?

    My guess would be to use the Build information, but I'm pretty sure that there is a better way to do this.

    Try:

        public static boolean isBlackBerry() {
            return java.lang.System.getProperty("os.name").equals("qnx");
        }

  • Invoke the BlackBerry App World de Page Web/App.

    In the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha, it is easy to invoke the BlackBerry App World using the direct link of the browser or the app like this:

    appworld://vendorpage/7765 (the number's provider ID)

    or

    appworld://content/19996436 (the number is the ID of your application)

    My question is... What happened to invoke App World and page then provider of BlackBerry PlayBook? I used 'appworld://vendorpage/7765' and it does not work on the PlayBook. I tried using "appworld://search/zanuzawa" (zanuzawa is my name of the seller) but he said 'no result '.

    Any suggestion? Thanks before.

  • BlackBerry App cannot set the security settings to install apps from Amazon

    I have a Blackberry Z10 with the OS 10.2.1. I'm trying to install an app on the app store from Amazon and it gives me this message.

    I say keep and it takes me to the screen:

    I think that this screen may be assuming that I use an Android phone because there is no 'unknown sources' box in the screen security settings need me to the next.

    But I can go in the app Manager and there is a comparable setting for my Blackberry.

    However, I already changed this setting to allow applications from other sources.

    So what can I do to solve this problem? How can I get the Amazon app store to work on my Blackberry Z10? I bought the phone because I was promised Amazon apps would work. Please help me.

    I fixed this problem myself. I had to track down the origin Amazon appstore app, which has been difficult because Amazon has updated the link so that people are redirected to download Underground when they think they're getting the Appstore. I have nothing against Amazon Underground, but apparently it works well with BB10.
