• Blackberry app in the world running on the Blackberry 10 Simulator

  Hello

  I would like to run blackberry apps world that I download on App world on the Simulator.

  I could do with the pre OS 10 simulators, but with the latest it doenst seem to work, no matter what Application download.

  I tried with different versions of the Simulator including 10.2.2_0X1444

  The Simulator to load correctly.

  I can browse the internet, so I know I have connectivity,

  I can go on the App World and then choose an application to download.

  The progress bar then moves as it downloads the file.

  However at this point, I'm getting the problem. Once the file is downloaded then just get the message 'Installation pending '.

  The reason is basically because the Simulator is x 86/intel architecture and we build for ARM (device architecture).

  We want to support the Simulator, but various other tasks (for example Windows Phone) platform support take priority for the forseable future. There are some difficulties to support the Simulator with an internal architecture on our side, graphics drivers, etc..

  Note that because the binaries, you can run in the device Simulator BB10 and aBB10 are different (if you use BlackBerry own SDK, it will compile two different binary, one for each architecture), you would not even test a real construction identical and there is always possibility of issue on the device, you do not see on the desktop.

• BlackBerry App investigating the classic BlackBerry, T-Mobile and the WiFi calling app

  I am looking for on this forum after being (possibly) achieved through BlackBerry World (located here, so you can make reference to what I'm going to talk: https://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/35524900 ) this app is marked as 'BlackBerry Lmtd' being the developer, that's why it is implicit that BlackBerry updates to this app and is responsible for its support. I am at this point, after trying (for weeks) to find how this whole process of WiFi calling went down, I was told by T-Mobile at the level executive response that BlackBerry was next to insider support. In its current form the above application currently supports only prior 2 BB10 peripheral T-Mobile, the Q10 and Z10. Despite the classic hit the shelves of T-Mobile, despite the fact that T-Mobile as well as the TWO classic BlackBerry supports WiFi called, it seems to come down to this app gets an update. I write here wondering if there is information about the status of this application as well as the support with regard to devices. Will be it be updated to include the classic? Is this a known issue? Is this really T-Mobile app? Just anything, any kind of transparency or tiny tidbit of information be always so would appreciate!   That's the beauty of this site... we do not work for carriers, nor for the BB. So, we can be truly independent and share more that they would be allowed to share. But, keep in mind that everything we know is therefore not official (unless it is a public site, such as the database of BB KB). We are sure that we are right on these points, but being not "in it", we can't know with 100% certainty.

  It is understandable that the comments of another platform/OS are not for another OS (for example the comments of the Playbook is not for phones BB10) that most limit the visibility of comments to a specific MODEL of PHONE only is just crazy. No other app store does such a silly thing.

  When a new phone model comes out, it probably means that the people who buy it will see really ANY reviews of ANY applications until they have begin to post comments on this phone model themselves. And even if the new phone is not really different from existing models, like for example the jump of the Z30, which means that all applications to look and are working on it, just as they do on the Z30.

  I think that I don't have to explain how a very limited number of comments displayed for a specific phone model will affect sales of the app. On each new version of phone model, all providers must actually BEGIN to COLLECT the COMMENTS FROM SCRATCH for this phone model.   In the case of some of my apps, even if they have several comments, sometimes none of them has been presented for example a user Z3 or Leap, but until recently Z3 or Leap users could see them again while now they see NO CRITICISM of these applications either.

  Thanks to all those have commented here.  I did the product team BlackBerry World aware of the concerns expressed here on the comments filtering, and they agreed with the points that you all did.  There is an update to the BlackBerry World Server are planned for next week, and this behavior will be restored with this update.  So, you should see all the comments that appear again in a few weeks (update + time for cache refresh).

  You can run (yet) background apps, although there was much demand for such a feature and most valid use cases provided. I can't imagine that this is not in the pipeline.

  You can not (yet) start other applications or communicate with them, but who was announced for BB10 and is called "invocation framework". At best, the details are still sketchy.

  I fixed this problem myself. I had to track down the origin Amazon appstore app, which has been difficult because Amazon has updated the link so that people are redirected to download Underground when they think they're getting the Appstore. I have nothing against Amazon Underground, but apparently it works well with BB10.
