BlackBerry Blackberry Pearl 8120 Smartphones 'Data Plan' questions...

Hello

I have a Blackberry Pearl 8120 unlocked and I use a T-Mobile plan with data unlimited and Blackberry boost services.

Can I use the browser on the device to view the pages, etc., and I can send and receive e-mails.

I have setup my email address, phone number and IMEI number on the T-Mobile website.

What I can't do is:

1. launch the Facebook application. There's just about "Connect to Facebook" then I get a window saying "..." "data service is not available..."

2 launch the BlackBerry AppWorld. I get the message: "improve your service to a plan that includes browsing and discover a world of possibilities...» »

3. I downloaded Opera Mini. When I try to install it I wait an age, then get the message: "required data package '...

I called T-mobile, who were all as serve a glass of water to the chocolate.

Has anyone had problems above and are able to solve them?

Thanks in advance,

-Neil

Is all sorted out now - TMobile does not add to my blackberry plan...

  • BlackBerry Pearl 8120 Smartphones - water damage

I have a Pearl 8120 with a brief exposure to water.  I've read other messages on how to dry (place in rice for several days to dry completely) bought a new battery and charged the battery using an old BlackBerry to 100%.  Now when I reinsert the battery I get the picture of a battery icon with a diagonal red line through it.  I left it together all night connected to the wall charger, removed the battery, he reintroduced, still have the icon.  My phone is completely fried?

Thank you very much.  I took it and of course, they said that it was corroded irreparably (amazing for such brief exposure)!  Next time, my phone is clear water!

You need to get the data Plan for BlackBerry from your active operator on your carrier account, and THEN you will have an icon on your BB for "personal messaging configuration.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new owner without data Plan Questions

This is my first post here, yesterday I received my new BB Curve 8900 from T-Mobile. I spent some time playing with the phone yesterday and of course I have a few questions.

I chose to do not to get the data plan from T-Mobile for two reasons. One, I don't have many friends with BB if I wouldn't get many people to BBM. Second, I don't have much of a need for e-mail and internet while I travel. For me, the cost of the data plan doesn't make sense.

That being said, it is possible to access his mail without the data plan (via wifi)? I know that I can't do 'BB Push' and is not a problem, but on my old phone (Nokia E71) I could just set the phone with my email accounts and access it using the WiFi at school or at home. I was able to get the BB browser to access my home wi - fi so I could go to the Web sites, but no luck with the e-mail. I guess I could use the email by logging in on the site of my school or AOL/GMail.com, but seems very not. Is it possible to do this, or perhaps there is an app that I could use to receive email via Wi - Fi?

I read a lot of posts on here talking about how BB is "paralyzed" without the data plan, but honestly I don't know if a few hundred extra dollars a year is justifiable.

    Thank you!

  • Smartphone data plan (BBM, navigation and Blackberry Protect) blackBerry stops working on Blackberry 9930

Hi I was using my Blackberry 9930 for a little over a year now, with the same data plan.

A few days ago my laptop could not start, so I reinstalled my OS. However after successful relocation, I met a problem to access the surveys BBM, browser and Blackberry Protect.

Wifi, browser and Appworld are fine (BBM and Blackberry Protect not fine).

However, when I turn off my wifi, I get this.

Check the service book, I noticed many missing articles...

Please note that these are ALL the elements, nothing more to scroll down for.

I noticed there is an additional element in Options > device > advanced system settings: i.e. the enterprise activation

Click to open the Enterprise Activation (I also get this window when I open the mail setup), I come to the page of connection probably BES.

Other messages, I understand that this could be the it policy. I've done many factory reset, via DM directly, via the command prompt using the loader/nojvm command and /resettofactory

    Things I did without success:

-Full Wipe and reinstall operating system (7.1.0.580, 7.1.0.755 and 7.1.0.991)

-Remove the policy with the above methods

-Record of Routing Table, locally on the host's phone and asking the carrier to do so.

-Access my site of carrier (telkomsel.blackberry.com) of the pc and return Service directories.

    Things to note:

-Emails are working properly, can send and receive without wifi

-Browser and Appworld are fine, only when the wifi is enabled

-Change SIM on another blackberry, my data plan works perfectly

-If I add a contact (phone B) through BBM surveys, phone B receives the request. However when a phone B accepts, nothing happens.

-L' opposite is not true. Phone B please, my phone receives no notification.

My career was told that my PIN code may be suspended/compromised, is it possible? and how should I proceed if it is true?

My carrier checked on my code PIN and IMEI on the Blackberry Administration Site and showed me a report saying that my phone has been blocked or suspended.

The carrier States that I have to bring this matter to Blackberry since:

    1. I did not buy the handset of them (carrier)

    2. they have proved that my data plan works when the SIM card is transferred to another handset.

Assuming that the suspension of the SPINDLE is true, nobody knows how should I proceed?

Indeed, the situation is delicate. The support service is always the responsibility of the carrier, because they are the entity that provides services. But subsidies related to the device falls to the original place of purchase, or an entity to which they have assigned to your supported devices. When the unit was purchased elsewhere, the service provider can refuse support for issues related to the device. And it seems that your service provider is to determine it's a question related to the device rather than a question related to the service. I don't know if this conclusion is correct or not... I tend to interpret your situation as related to the service, rather focus on the device, but I have not seen the 'rules' that they must follow to do this.

As such, your next step would be to contact the Manager of your support related to the device. Maybe it's your place of origin of the purchase, a service centre or other entity... it varies depending on the region, and I have no idea of what the device-support model is made for you. If you are unsure, contact your original purchase for orientation.

If all goes well, they will be ready to take your case and it degrades to the BlackBerry without cost to you. I can't say whether they will be or will not be. Sometimes, when issues come and the two types of support (device and service) are not provided by the same entity, there may be a tendency for each to blame others, unfortunately, leaving the end user without recourse, but to continue to try to climb with both entities until you reach someone who will be willing to take responsibility and provide the necessary climbing.

There is something called incident support, but it costs to just ask the original question, since you are not through support contracts that are in place. If you want to study, you can check it out here:

There is also this link, but I can't vouch for its usefulness because I've never needed to use it and reports in our community here indicate mixed results. But you can try:

  • "Required" on Verizon Blackberry blackBerry Smartphone data plan, no required on AT & T?

I don't mind paying the $29.99 for "data unlimited" on my Storm. But why AT & T gives customers the opportunity to transform power data? Something about RIM "demands" on their BlackBerry Verizon load data. Or am I wrong on these two areas?

I was wrong about customers of AT & T having the ability to have data on their Blackberry phones. If someone buys a Blackberry to AT & T, they have to get a map of data, like Verizon. The difference between carriers is if you put your AT & T SIM card in a Blackberry that you got a friend online or somewhere other than directly from AT & T, your SIM card will work for voice services. If you don't have a Blackberry data plan, it will not work for data. Verizon is CDMA and Verizon devices must be triggered by Verizon, you can not simply exchange to another phone without the knowledge or help of Verizon. Anyone using a SIM card AT & T with a Blackberry without a data plan, just to put their SIM in the phone. RIM requires a data plan for all Blackberry phones sold by all carriers.

  • BlackBerry smartphone data Plan works... right?

    Hi all

It goes well if my BB data plan works on a GPRS (upper case), but without the BB icon?

I said... with a wi - fi connection, I UMA and the BB icon, and all is well... when I'm outside, I have GPRS (uppercase), and BB seems to work as well, but no icon of BB.

Support Orange told me that as long as services are working, no matter if I have the icon or not, but it seems weird to me.

Orange assistance should read the public knowledge base article:

KB02334 Indicators of State of network of networks GSM/GPRS/EDGE / 3G

The BlackBerry icon appears only with the 3G. So you are 100% fine.

  • Smartphones blackBerry WiFi email no data Plan

    Hello

I'm new here, so thanks for any help. Large community.

I read already a few posts, but impossible to find a solution.

I want to check my emails gmail through my Bold 9700. Currently, I don't want to sign up for a data plan. I want to use my Wifi connection in the office or at home in order to get my emails. I'm not pushing need function but I don't want to go through the Web page and login. I want to just press a button and receive my emails on request.

Is it possible to get my emails? My friend has an iphone and he can choose between receiving manual email with push with data plan or wifi.

    Thanks for any help.

No, not with a Data Plan. You can use the WiFi Hotspot browser to check your Gmail on the browser, but you can not just rely on a 'button' and receive on request. It would be 'pull' email and BlackBerry don't do that.

  • Z10 Z10 blackBerry on a normal data plan (not BIS)

After researching if the Z10 operates on a data plan normal and not a BIS and of course it worked perfectly on Wi - Fi without a SIM card, wanted to just make sure that they are compatible with a normal cellular data plan, I went for it yesterday and Yes, everything worked except BBM, hell the BlackBerry logo disappeared from the home screen. I have contacted my provider and they shocked me, they told me it is not possible to not have an ENCORE with the Z10, and they were surprised, I was able to browse the net and send and receive e-mails, and they said they cannot support me!
So why did I do that? A normal data plan is cheaper here, in the UNITED Arab Emirates, my cancelled BIS gave me 500 MB to 79AED, and the normal data plan gives me 1 GB for 50AED. Is there no work around for this before that I have to go back?

    Hey ya3goub,

Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

    Thanks for the question.

10 blackBerry smartphones require a data plan normal of your network service provider.  However the network service provider must support BlackBerry 10, otherwise some BlackBerry services will not work.

Also BIS data plans are not available for smartphones BlackBerry 10.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    See you soon.

  • BlackBerry 10 wifi vs data plan

    Hello
    Here's the problem:
At home, I use Wi-Fi with my z10, when I leave the House, my logic says that the unit should switch to the data connection / service plan provided by the companies I have active.
What happens is that im without any connection and I have to turn off the wifi and restart the device. Can someone help me pls for this problem?
    Thank you

I communicate with your wireless service provider and make sure that your data plan is configured correctly. If this does not fix it they have to escalate your case to BlackBerry.
