Blackberry Bold 9700 Smartphones from blackBerry backup

Hello!

I was able to backup data from my phone to the computer before it broke down. (Shows a white screen, I think the problem is the display screen)

The questions are:

1 is easy to fix the problem?

2. how to open the data stored on my computer? I need to check some contacts and text messages.

3. How can I transfer all the data again to a new phone? Should this phone be a Blackberry in order for contacts/messages/photos to be transferred?

Thanks in advance for answering my questions.

Hello

In my view, that can be firmly answered by a technician with the device by hand. If the problem is not a hardware problem, you might be able to recover it with this:

  • KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any State

ateliermd2003 wrote:

2. how to open the data stored on my computer? I need to check some contacts and text messages.

Natively, the backup file (BBB or RPI, depending on the version of the Desktop software you used) is intended for a single purpose... as the source of restoration to a BlackBerry. But there are several 3rd PC-based 3rd party there apps that can analyze the file backup, some even to do something else with the resulting data. I've never needed, but I heard good things about MagicBerry. Search for a few seconds (for example, on Google) and I'm sure you will find plenty of candidates for your needs.

To transfer to another BB, simply perform the restore:

  • KB10339 How to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to restore data from a BlackBerry smartphone from a backup file

To transfer to another device, these 3 save game file analysis applications (from your point 2 above) would be your source... you would have to understand what requires this device non - BB and then manipulate the data in the required format and then use whatever of this non - BB device has to load the data on this device.

Good luck!

OK, and once again, it depends.

If you are on a corporate BES account, your employer's it policy on the device could prevent you to change the password.

If it's your own device on a personal account, Options > security or Options > password. The actual location may vary depending on the version of the OS on the BlackBerry.

My Bold 9700 keeps freezing on or has a clock turns around for which I have to remove the battery to fix the problem.
PS please do not mention the fact that I might have too many apps installed because I did not, and even if I did, why it must be a problem? I have almost 20 apps on my iPhone and it never caused a problem wrt freezing or stalling.

Hmmm... Well, some carriers took your 9700 OS6, and others have newer versions of OS5. Up to 6 could be problematic for your situation since the OS itself is reported to take more space AppMemory, which would probably only worsen rather than your complaints help. In addition, your applications add-on may or may not be compatible with OS6... you need to check that. Finally, OS6 is a huge change from OS5... the interface, menus, and many other things are very very different... some people prefer to stay with what they are used.

You can check your carrier and others, via the official download portal:

Sorry, I don't know which carriers for you guide... I have no access to a list of carriers that support your 9700. I spot checked Orange Romania (since I happened to be there for another thread here) and they 5.0.0.586 (such as 6.0.0.461).

It is quite possible that, at the level of your operating system, there is some sort of memory leak or something... that might be resolved by a more recent operating system level. Unfortunately, change log information is notoriously difficult to find.

    CapeofStorms wrote:
    2 - memory installed app 84.5 MB - (2 GB sd card)

(FYI... the sd card, as well as the memory of the device, is unrelated to the amount of AppMemory available).

If this amount remains relatively stable, there are a lot of AppMemory free to allow the smoothly. You might want to look at it over time, however, to see if perhaps there could be a leak memory somewhere... which, when it becomes too low, initiates the "self-protection" on the BB things which, from the point of view user interface appear exactly as you described.

Oversight, over time, AppMemory. If it falls over time, then check out the possible situations. For example, make sure that you leave no running applications that you don't need... and you must close many of them very precisely in order to ensure that they stop correctly. The 'return' or 'red' keys let the app to decide... and many decide to keep the resident. You can always check who is resident and exercise on the Ribbon AppSwitcher - the mandatory elements are Messages, BBM, browser, home and phone... everything is an application that has been added and be authorized to reside (perhaps in apps options), either simply not properly closed.

All devices can also benefit from a clean reload of the OS from time to time. Like all devices computer, things get broken, lost, lost, etc. due to the imperfections (devices, designed and built by humans, are imperfect by definition). A clean reload of BONE tends to, well, clean things up.

If you need assistance with the execution of these ideas, please let us know.

    See you soon!

  • Data service no. Fido blackBerry, with the help of unlocked Rogers Bold 9700 Smartphones

    Hello

Recently, I've unlocked a Bold 9700 from Rogers and began to use it with my Fido sim card.  I added a small data plan to my current services of Fido, but I get all the data.  I called Fido 3 times and they do not seem to do anything.  They gave me their APN settings and I enter data manually and not always.

    What could be the problem?

Fido has you on a BlackBerry data plan or a generic data plan? To use the data on your BlackBerry, you will need a BlackBerry data plan.

It is the first place I would check... That said, if this isn't the problem, I would try reloading the software on the device, just in case there is a problem.

Also, have you bought the phone used or has been used under a COMPUTER policy at work? If so, it can help to reset the phone to factory settings.

To reset the phone to factory settings, follow the instructions here: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14202

To reload the operating system on your phone, use these instructions here (using Rogers as the carrier since it's a Roger phone brand): http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Device-software-for-BlackBerry/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-S...

    I hope this will help!

  • BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphones keep closing and drains the battery.

I'm new to this forum, so if this problem has been discussed and resolved, I apologize. My Bold 9700 guard dying and closing unexpectedly. It takes forever so he can start up (flashing red light).  Sometimes I even remove the battery to get a reaction. When the loading bar ends & comes back from the screen, the battery is completely dead, even if it was at least half full before that happened.  BTW, this has happened several times with my old battery so I bought a new OEM battery.  It's happened twice since then.  Stranger still, when I was with a friend today, his "BOLD" does exactly the same thing.  That is what it is?

Your phone is obviously having software problems.  As such, you must reload the operating system of your phone.  Any other suggestion is just going to skirt the issue; You must get the brain of your charge phone.

To do this, connect your phone to your PC and open BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Click the device in the upper part of the software and then update.

If your phone does not connect to the BDS, take a look at this article from RIM:

  • Connection blackBerry Bold 9700 Smartphone problems

I have problems connecting my device with the USB cable.  I tried three cables, and while my PC see my Blackberry Bold 9700 and evenb acknowledges his PIN code, it does not synchronize.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software, but to no avail.

    Can anyone help?

If you have the correct version installed for your operating system (for example. Windows 32/64, Mac, etc.) and you run the program with administrative privileges then the end of the computer should be g2g.

On the top of my head, you want to make sure that the SD card is not write-protected, otherwise I would just do a backup then a reload of the sw of pocket.

  • BlackBerry Blackberry Bold 9700 Smartphones blocked (or stuck) with 99% of the loading bar HELP!

    Hello world!

Well, everything is explained in the title, my blackberry bold 9700 is block 99% of the load bar when I reboot it.

Yesterday I had like 3 or 4 updates to some app and then I reboot but now it's blocked... I try to remove the battery several times, did not work, I try to use alt + shift + del several times, did not work, I try to use BBSAK but the blackberry cannot recognize... I don't know what to do and the worst part is that I did not do backup everything (ok so I'm little kind of stupid, but...)

In any case of me HELP

    Thank you!

YES! I found a solution! Working on it since yesterday! It is an application that has been blocked my BB

So for all of you who have had the same problem here's what I did: I use the AppLoader, you will find cor D, F no matter) / Program Files / Common Files / Research In Motion / AppLoader / loader

Launch the loader and connect your blackberry to the PC by USB. BUT it must detect the blackberry before the loading bar reach 3/4. So when the blackberry is detected, quickly click Next, then you should have a list of all your applications. Now deselect the application causing problem (or if you don't know which deselect all to remove all) and then click Next. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE LOADING BAR SHOULD NOT SPEND 3/4. After that it's going to be something and if you see that it blocks just to make a reset in now alt + shift + del 2 times, wait, she returned to the loading bar and try again to detect the phone in the AppLoader who does not close during this manipulation... After all, that things blackberry should restart and hope for you, came back to life. So, in my case, I lost all my photos (don't know why), but at least I'm keeping all my contacts and messages. In any case it's better like this than all lost...

Sorry for my bad English, I think that everything is not really clear, but perhaps that might help someone...

  • BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphones don't save pictures or take photos

I recently got a BlackBerry Bold 9700 from Ebay for a very good price, it was still sealed and brand-new-in-box. However, as is a Vodafone UK brand of phone it's sim locked as well. I managed to remove the sim lock through online unlock code generator and so I am now able to use a SIM Orange UK PAYG card.

Now my current problem is that since I opened the packaging, the camera does not work properly, it will take pictures very slowly (press the button, takes about 10 seconds to hear the sound of the shutter and it does take the picture) and then it does not save the image at all! Whenever I try to use the video camera, everything works fine however.

I've looked everywhere, I tried to reset the unit several times and I called Vodafone UK for technical support, but they refused that I was not one of their customers, even if the phone is technically their still. Unlock the phone should not void the warranty unless the unlock code was manually via a software update or a few changes on the phone itself. I even contacted RIM BlackBerry, but the guy on the phone said that I had no warranty of the manufacturer, even if the phone itself is less than a year! This problem is certainly a manufacturing defect because it is already present after unpacking the telephone.

Now my question to you, the forum is, is there a solution for me? I really like the phone, but without the camera work, a little makes the phone useless as I like to take pictures without having to carry my camera all the time.

    Thank you very much!

You experience one of the pitfalls of buying off of Ebay.  The manufacturer's warranty is to the original purchaser for a period of one year and is not transferred to a subsequent purchaser.  If the Ebay seller has a 'private' vendor and NOT an "authorized dealer" through an Ebay store front you are out of luck.

Voda brand used on Orange more complicates the procedure of warranty beyond the original purchaser.  You MIGHT be able to sweet talk Voda in manipulation but it would be outside of the normal procedure.

Your recourse is to return to the seller on Ebay.

  • BlackBerry Bold 9700 Smartphone problem UK

    Hello

I have a question about my Bold 9700. I got from Vodafone Romania (no monthly or whatever it is, I'm on talk so I can use it with another Romanian phone company) and I intend to join the United Kingdom starting this fall. What worries me is that I've heard my phone will not work properly here and I won't be able to use the Internet. It seems really strange because I know England and Romania works on the same band, so I don't really understand. It should work, right?

In addition, Vodafone told me that they can unlock my phone with a special code or something, but they do not know if this will help.

    What can I do?

You must have the device unlocked for use on a mobile operator other than that to which it is brand. That's all. You will have no problem of data then, but for data, you will need the BlackBerry data Plan on your account. I don't think that VodafoneUK has a BlackBerry data plan talk, but I think Orange.

  • BlackBerry Bold 9700 Smartphone Sync calendar with Outlook 2007

I recently changed my Bold 9000 Bold 9700 phone. Using the Desktop Manager 5.0.1.37 and on the sp2 of Vista and Outlook 2007. I used to be able to synchronize perfectly ok with my 9000 "BOLD", and since I changed my Bold 9700 phone, he used to synchronize my calendar - as if it ignores the calendar completely. I tried a number of suggestions in this forum, including the removal of the intellisync folder and reset the configuration of the synchronization, hard reset the phone, and nothing works. I'm out of ideas. So if anyone could help it would be much appreciated!

    Hey adharma.

This is exactly why your calendar is not properly synchronized, you should have a 'calendar' and ' calendar all.

Do you have any setup of e-mail accounts on your BlackBerry?  If so I suggest you to send again to the bottom of your service books if you can return a default calendar.

    To send service directories: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402

You can also try merge you with calendar entries to try, then get your default calendar again: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402

If these two options do not restore your calendar, then I suggest to do a wipe handheld.

One wipe Handheld will remove all data on your BlackBerry, so, create a backup before doing this option *.

  • Setting up new blackBerry Bold 9700 Smartphones

I've just updated from a 9000 "BOLD" a bold 9700. I have two questions which I'm looking for support to rectify?

    1. Could you please tell me how to operate the GPS on the phone, so that I can use to find places, particularly addresses? I tried the online help and it doesn't show any direction.
    2. I currently have 3 symbols E-mail: Desktop 1) 2) my email address 3) Messages.
      1. Everyone seems to receive messages and not always the same where you must therefore operate at least two of them, so get you your emails. Is it possible that you can have a single folder of messages and they all go this place, can read you them, and they opened?

Can someone help hope and looking forward to a quick response.

    Hi ntrugby,

    Please find the answer below-

    1. could you please tell me how to operate the GPS on the phone, so that I can use to find places, particularly addresses? I tried the online help and it doesn't show any direction.

To use the GPS feature, you must have an application installed on your device mapping. Such a popular app is Google Maps. You can get it from http://www.google.com/gmm

    2. I currently have 3 symbols E-mail: Desktop 1) 2) my email address 3) Messages.

Everyone seems to receive messages and not always the same where you must therefore operate at least two of them, so get you your emails.

In all devices Blackberry Messages folder receives all e-mails that are configured on your device. If you are using BES, desktop folder will appear which means that all your emails to business/company will land in this folder (as well as the Messages folder). And if you have set up email which means BIS, then you will have an another subfolder named by your e-mail ID. It is not that an e-mail message is copied several times rather an e-mail is planned in several files.

    3. is it possible that you can have a single folder of messages and they all go this place, then you read and they then opened?

You can have! Just highlight the folder Office ID / email-> click on the Menu button-> select hide.

    Hi all

Last night during the use of my bb bold 9700, it comes went away, came back and then my bbm (messenger) has been removed, so I tried the update of the OS which proved a failure, unplug my bb from my cell phone minutes later, it exploded and the red light blinking twice, charge all night and symptoms persist. can someone help me please.

    Thank you

Remove the battery and leave it out for about 2mins. Insert the battery and see if works. If this does not work, you can try the update of the new OS but this time with the battery. When the process gets to "Loading Applications" insert the battery and let it go through to the end.

I hope that you have a previous backup, you won't be able to recover your data
