BlackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphone won't turn on all the way, please help!

I have a blackberry curve 8520, I bought last month some time.

I woke up yesterday morning and the balckberry was off and not turn on after that I pushed down on the button. So I loaded for some time, and yet, it wouldn't turn on. Then I took off the charge it, took out the battery, put the battery back and it restarts. The loading bar went well in the end, and my ISP logo appeared. And that's when he stopped loading. All that will show is the logo, it does turn off, unless I get out the battery again.

I had downloaded an application the previous evening, he stopped working out appworld, which could affect it? I tried to connect it to my computer, but it won't let me delete or add applications.

I take out the battery for hours and the SD card. He still wiil only turn on until my ISP logo.

Help, please! Any advice would be helpful.

(1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
(2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

(3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
(4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
(5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Congratulations! Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.

Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery while the power is on. Leave the battery for a minute or 2.

See if that solves the problem.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphones stuck on a 'white screen of death '.

    Hello world

I have a Blackberry Curve 8520. Yesterday, he got stuck on a white screen, with a little black clock in the middle (the kind you see when you're waiting for a page to load in the browser).

Even if I turn off my phone, take the battery or put it on charge, this "white screen of death" I read he is described by other people online, won't go away!

If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

    Ok.

If your BlackBerry is turned off the power with a black or white screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life may be the flashing red indicator light in the upper corner. Nothing seems to wake and Desktop Manager does not recognize that a device is connected.

  • BlackBerry curve 8520 smartphones does not not with DM

Hi, I got a curve 8520 and tried to synchronize it with the Desktop Manager (mac osx snow leopard 32bits) but the computer does not recognize it (not even as peripheral mass storage), usb sockets are fine, given that the phone is charging and be detected by windows as a blackberry smartphone in analogies.

I tried reseting, removing the battery, restart the computer, re install DM, install the Device Manager.

The strange thing is that I was able to sync 6 months ago (it was my cell phone the mothers) without any problem using DM... I don't know what else to do, any help greatly appreciated.

For those who have this problem of MAC (snow leopard) drivers seem to come with pocketmac and not with the DM. has worked for my curve 8520 with DM and installed pocketmac.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Blackberry Curve 8520 shows I've got emails but the email is blank

    Hello

I can access my yahoo and gmail emails on my blackberry curve 8520 and although I deleted all the emails on my handheld it always says that there are e-mails in there.  Initially, he comes to say I still had one message, but now it says I have three messages, but there is no message in my box, because I deleted them.  How can I fix it so it doesn't show that I have emails.

    Thank you

    JC

In fact, I got my answer from another forum of customer.  What I had to do, is to perform a hard or soft reset of my blackberry curve.  I chose a warm reboot and that seems to have done the trick.

  • Locked blackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphones and can't find the mute button to unlock

Hello.  I have a BB Curve 8520.  I was looking for just the page options and then I think I clicked on the speed dial option.  The keyguard option has 'a' and I clicked it and it locked the keyboard.  I didn't realize there was a lock for my keyboard (and had been in charge of looking for one).  However, I can't get it unlocked.  When I press the menu button, it appears that the keyboard is locked.  Press the button Mute to unlock. »

However, I don't know where is the Mute button, nor can I get it to unlock.

My theme is precision zen (I think) if that makes a difference.

Does anyone know how can I unlock my keyboard?  And then how to lock successfully in the future?  I guess I don't understand the aspect of the phone speed dial.

    Thanks for any help!

Never mind.  I used the tutorial to find the button mute.

  • BlackBerry OS6 update Blackberry Curve 8520 smartphones

As you can see on the UK Blackberry home page, the OS6 software is now available for the curve smartphones. I plugged my camera, launched the Desktop software and nothing happened. How can I update my Blackberry OS6, please help! :-)

gmusic, Hello and welcome to the Support Forums of community BlackBerry.com.

No, there is no OSv.6 for the Curve 8520.

There is an OS v.6 for Curve 9300 model, and these are two very different models.

    I'm sorry.

  • Update blackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone problem

I've updated my Curve 8520 with the last software update, and now the Trackpad only works on the home screen but not on the larger screen.  It will scroll up and down, but not to individual applications.  Any ideas?   Thanks, the update is c. 5.0.0.82 2.

You think that the upgrade caused that? I've never seen an upgrade that would disable the trackpad only on a single screen.

First, try a reboot > with the phone smart BlackBerry turned on, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.

If the Trackpad still does not work, then you can consider decommissioning of the OS.

1 remove the newer operating system of your PC by going to control panel > Add/Remove programs.

    2. next, download and install the earlier version of the operating system. Operating system blackBerry downloads

    3. install the older operating system to the computer by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    5. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • BlackBerry Curve 9300 Smartphone won't be using the wifi service

So I'm not the first person to have this problem.  I've been trawling the web looking for solutions, but nobody seems to have any.

The problem is that my Curve 9300 won't use wireless instead of data network services.  I can connect to wifi fine networks.  The phone searches for networks, connects, puts a little icon on the home screen saying that it is connected to a wifi network.  It lists the name of the network to the top.  Everything is great, except that when you actually use the internet, the phone connects to your data instead of wifi services and you get charged data consumption.

If you disable network services to try to force the phone to connect to the wifi instead, you get the error message:

"You are not currently in an area that can handle the communication of data.  Therefore, the browser can't retrieve all of the web pages.  Please try again when you are in a different location, or contact your service provider if the problem persists. »

    To confirm:

    My Data Services are on.

    My APN settings are disabled.

In Advanced Options, my default browser Configuration is set to Hotspot browser.

In General Properties, the default browser is Hotspot browser.

In the Configuration of the browser, the browser is configured to AT & T Mobile Web.  I tried to change it to Hotspot browser but I save the changes and exit the screen, then when I go back to check, it's at AT & T.  It's not save the changes to make the default Hotspot.

I did a battery pull to see if that would help and after restarting it allowed me to keep the Hotspot as the default configuration but it would not connect if the mobile service has been disabled.  He is now back himself to AT & T and still does not work.

I read the thread on the forum "BOLD", but for all the people complaining having the same problem, there is still no solution.  I really want a resolution to this because I do a lot of travel and my card sim may not always connect to a local network.  I want to be able to go to a local coffee shop and be able to connect, even if I don't have telephone service in a foreign airport.  I don't understand what is the point of having wifi on a phone if you can't use it.

OS 6 is available for BlackBerry 9300, please connect to www.blackberry.com and download the latest software from the support section device, install it on your PC and then connect a device with PC by using the USB cable and check for update of the device.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone restart commissioning before the end - several times

Please help - my daughter keeps on restarting. It starts by the presentation of Blackberry start bar, running for 115 seconds (about 5 mm) in the bar, turn off and then stop and start the process again. He would continue to do so for as long as there is a battery inside. For after that I managed to find on the forums, I have to re - install the operating system, but I can't go into the phone to do. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the community!

First, I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, thinking... what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

If this is not successful, then this article can be useful:

  • BlackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphone - emails not delivered on my device.

Today I have problems with my Curve 8520. I got a message from [email protected] informing me that my emails are not delivered on my device.
It keeps telling me to activate the IMAP setting for all messages on my email address and verify my account.
After checking, my IMAP settings are correct, so I re-validated my Bkackberry and to all intent & purpose the email account is now valid. However, I then shortly receive another message exactly the same [email protected].
I have been around this cycle 3 - 4 times now, but don't get to emails - ideas please?

    Hello!

    I suggest the following:

    (1) registry HRT

    • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table > (it matter little what line is current) > sign up now

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your BIS lines for these accounts.
