BlackBerry data plan

Hello

I have the blackberry curve 3g with a data of Etisalat Egypt plan. I noticed that in addition to paying for the service, they take sometimes more money and tell me that I have used third-party applications that considered mobile internet. I did not understand. My question is: what includes exactly the BB service and what will make me pay more for more money? And how do I know that this application will need to more data? Please be patient and explain in details to make me understand.

Hello afshahda,

There are in fact two ways, the Blackberry can connect to the internet!

First, the path 'main' during the APN (access point) blackberry.net (called BIS or BES)... This is usually the standard way on all Blackberry!

The second way is the local provider for example WAP apn. Etilsat Wap APN...

This wap connection is taken for example media streaming (youtube...), or some applications... BUT Smart apps normally includes a configuration screen where you can define your type of connection between wifi, tcpip, wap or bis/bes...

And so the costs and data included in your dataplan depends on the local supplier... For example in Austria, they have had the same problem because they:

Unlimited transfer on BIS/BES
And 50 MB for apn WAP

If the same problem exists as u mentioned...

Therefore, since half a year you have wap 1 GB included and unlimited BIS/BES...

A means of control is the sign of berry in the right corner near the coast 3 G... Is - this here device shoul be connected via BIS... Is it only 3G, it might be connected over the WAP apn...

Alternatively check your TCP/IP on your Blackberry settings in the advanced settings... And don't forget to set the APN "blackberry.net" for (no pw, no user)...

Third solution, ask your supplier the amount of traffic you have BIS AFN and how much WAP, so you can save money

Hope this helps,

Jul

  • BlackBerry Smartphones blackberry data plan?

Recently, I asked advice on how to configure mail on my blackberry 8800 in which he suggested I ask my supplier to activate the blackberry data plan (talktalk provider vodafone network) I am gratefull for the quick and helpful response. However, they responded with all the information I need to put in place it's OS 5 or higher. However, it is 4.5.0 (I did an update of the software through my desktop program is aware). Therefore, they say that I need to get the support of blackberry to activate the activation or enterprise data plan. I can't see how to access the blackberry directly for this support all their links are to aid which does not cover my problem or allow me to talk to someone who can help. I really hope that someone can help me, or what I thought, was that a nice smartphone will be rendered useless and not more useful than a nokia £9.99. Eternally hopefull b.Croll

    Hello

The reason why it is so hard to communicate directly with the BlackBerry is because, due to the nature of the support to which contracts everyone is related, such is not allowed. Instead, carriers can increase case through formal until BlackBerry channels if this assistance is necessary, but the end-user cannot bypass and go directly to the BlackBerry (well, not for free). Thus, the one who gave you this advice was wrong...

There is something called incident support, but it costs to just ask the original question, since you are not through the contract, you signed at the time of purchase. If you want to study, you can check it out here:

It is also perhaps a few good reading here:

But according to your description, I am not sure there is no hope for your old device... research through this portal you will need:

    You will need to

    1. Find all the carriers that support your specific model BB number
    2. Compare levels of OS for your device that they currently support

If a carrier has a package that is OS5, then you can use... but if no carrier has such a package of OS5, then your BB is just too old to be useful in this way. The 8800 is really old (released in 2007), so I have no indication to you as what carriers look at... You probably have to undertake the tedious process of watching all them to see which support it, as appropriate.

If you do not find a bundle of BONES of a carrier that will work according to the instructions you have been given (OS5), then we can provide you with instructions to install it to your BB.

However, keep in mind also that, even if you do not find a such operating system, if your specific carrier does not natively support your specific model BB number, then you will have still some significant challenges before you. Carriers networks provide the registry entries (HRT) and service book needed for the BBs to allow them to operate on their network. But, as a general rule, the rack system made for the specific model number BBs that their system is supported... other model numbers must perform a difficult process to extract, a different BB, the elements needed to work on that carrier network. A significant challenge to overcome, without any guarantee of success.

    Good luck!

  • Smartphones blackBerry data plan

Why cant Blackberry devices to access internet without a data Plan?

This is because your BlackBerry works differently from all other smartphones.  When access you the data of another brand of smartphone, the data moves from the server to your phone.  When access you the data on your BlackBerry, it moves from the server asked RIM servers, where it is compressed to save on data consumption, then he is pulled out of your phone (it's more complicated than that, but I it simplifies).
For your phone understand how to manage this data traffic, she has downloaded for service books.  In order to access these service books, you need a specific data plan called BIS or BlackBerry Internet Service.  Without BIS, your phone does not know how to properly manage this data transfer.

Now, as JSanders said, you can always access the internet without BIS but with limitations.  If you want a full internet experience on your BlackBerry, get your provider BIS.

(JSanders is actually much better informed on this issue and can probably fill in the gaps I left).

    I hope that helps you.

  • No Smartphones blackBerry data plan?

Well, I'm sure it is much... But my friend gave me his old blackberry curve 8330. But my mother won't let me transfer because she said, that Verizon makes me have a data package. Is it possible that I have no folder? I don't care if I'm not going to internet(:.??)

    Thank you

On Verizon, there is no way. Insert a data plan on your account without you knowing if it detects a BlackBerry on the network.

    And it detects.

  • Locked Smartphone blackBerry data plan

    Hello

I recently received as a gift a blackberry phone that was bought from another country (Vodafone Spain). The phone is not sim locked and my Orange prepay sim worked flawlessly until I activated the data of Blackberry for the pre-payment plan.

The problem is that I paid for the service of bb does not work (edge lowercase + receive not hosting routing tables)-I tried the battery pull, whipe, reinstall the os, etc. and eventually I wrote an e-mail to Vodafone Spain on this issue but have not yet received a response.

After talking to my Orange dealer I was informed that the dealer of Vodafone Spain has remove my blackberry to their service of bb. If they refuse to help is there another solution to this problem, I ran through?

    Sorry for my bad engRish.

They must remove the PIN/IMEI of their user database, there is no other solution.

The device thinks it is still in use on the previous user account.

  • BlackBerry smartphones does pine bb without data plan? No polls bbm, just the msg of the real axis

I know that bbm does not work via wifi, u gotta hv data plan.

and if pin msg need data plan work, then what's the point of hving bbm? It just doesn't do the same thing?

    Thank you very much!!!

PIN to pin is on wheels network, so you need a blackberry data plan more coverage network

  • "Required" on Verizon Blackberry blackBerry Smartphone data plan, no required on AT & T?

I don't mind paying the $29.99 for "data unlimited" on my Storm. But why AT & T gives customers the opportunity to transform power data? Something about RIM "demands" on their BlackBerry Verizon load data. Or am I wrong on these two areas?

I was wrong about customers of AT & T having the ability to have data on their Blackberry phones. If someone buys a Blackberry to AT & T, they have to get a map of data, like Verizon. The difference between carriers is if you put your AT & T SIM card in a Blackberry that you got a friend online or somewhere other than directly from AT & T, your SIM card will work for voice services. If you don't have a Blackberry data plan, it will not work for data. Verizon is CDMA and Verizon devices must be triggered by Verizon, you can not simply exchange to another phone without the knowledge or help of Verizon. Anyone using a SIM card AT & T with a Blackberry without a data plan, just to put their SIM in the phone. RIM requires a data plan for all Blackberry phones sold by all carriers.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can BBM (Blackberry Messenger) work without a DATA PLAN?

I have t-mobile with my phone and it does not work with a Web package, I basically live off connection Internet WI - FI. I was curious if I can use BBM (Blackberry Messenger) with only WI - FI connections?

No, unfortunately not. You need a BlackBerry data Plan to use BlackBerry Messenger.

  • Z10 Z10 blackBerry on a normal data plan (not BIS)

After researching if the Z10 operates on a data plan normal and not a BIS and of course it worked perfectly on Wi - Fi without a SIM card, wanted to just make sure that they are compatible with a normal cellular data plan, I went for it yesterday and Yes, everything worked except BBM, hell the BlackBerry logo disappeared from the home screen. I have contacted my provider and they shocked me, they told me it is not possible to not have an ENCORE with the Z10, and they were surprised, I was able to browse the net and send and receive e-mails, and they said they cannot support me!
So why did I do that? A normal data plan is cheaper here, in the UNITED Arab Emirates, my cancelled BIS gave me 500 MB to 79AED, and the normal data plan gives me 1 GB for 50AED. Is there no work around for this before that I have to go back?

    Hey ya3goub,

Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

    Thanks for the question.

10 blackBerry smartphones require a data plan normal of your network service provider.  However the network service provider must support BlackBerry 10, otherwise some BlackBerry services will not work.

Also BIS data plans are not available for smartphones BlackBerry 10.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    See you soon.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones using the calendar/Agenda when you don't have a data plan.

Hi all, I just got a BB Curve 9320 model to replace my LG dead.  I use the phone for my convenience only but I fondly I remember my old Palm Pilot and it's wonderful calendar application that allows me to keep track of my life and where I was supposed to be and when.  I had hoped that the curve would be able to do the same thing with its calendar function.  I thought that using the BB desktop and connect my laptop to enable them to communicate that I would have the same function, like the Palm Pilot has made in my previous life of the curve.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to get it to operate than I had imagined... I do something bad or without the data plan is - it simply not possible?

Hello and welcome to the community!

What is wrong is your waiting... what you expect is not a feature designed... a few things to discuss... so bear with me...

Unlike other how things, RIM does not provide a desktop PIM. Others force you to use their PIM and only their PIM. RIM provides a driving software that works as a bridge between your PIM and the BB. See this compatible PIM KB:

    • KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize

So, to do what you want requires the use of a desktop PIM for your data... Choose a compatible PIM (from above). Then, enter your data in the PIM Office. Next, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:

    • KB03315 How to synchronize Organizer data (calendar, to-do list, memo list and list of contacts) using the BlackBerry Desktop Software

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry 10 wifi vs data plan

    Hello
    Here's the problem:
At home, I use Wi-Fi with my z10, when I leave the House, my logic says that the unit should switch to the data connection / service plan provided by the companies I have active.
What happens is that im without any connection and I have to turn off the wifi and restart the device. Can someone help me pls for this problem?
    Thank you

I communicate with your wireless service provider and make sure that your data plan is configured correctly. If this does not fix it they have to escalate your case to BlackBerry.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones pop3 e-mail set up without BES, BIS, or data plan

I just bought an unlocked storm2 free and clear - no contract (upgraded from curve without data plan). I have continuous wi - fi, as my internet company offers me unlimited wi - fi access wherever I go in the USA, so my plan is to access my mail via a wi - fi connection.

Pop3 e-mail is established as possible without data plan, BIS or BES? Is there a 3rd party email application available for blackberry as well as for the pc where you can set up software left 3rd (ms outlook, ms express, etc.) for your email.

Now the only way I can verify that my email address is in you connecting to the internet via wi - fi and going to my Internet service provider's web site. It's a chore, but as I have to go through several steps before I can actually check my email.

Thank you. I just looked at gmail and I think it is the best solution right now for email via wi - fi. In fact, he let me do a pop3 e-mail, set up (or imap in option), so I'm good. I check emails fast.

Another option, I looked in must simply send my emails from MS Outlook to one of these email service based on the web (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc), but ultimately, gmail is the best option because of its pop3 / imap capabilities.
