BlackBerry Playbook Simulator ISO 2.0

Is there an ISO for the 2.0 playbook Simulator file?  I try to install on VirtualBox that my computer cannot run the latest version of vmware Player.

Thank you.

Why not just try? Which will give you an answer more reliable than to go really what anyone else. As I said, I thought the Simulator had previously worked with VirtualBox, but I am not certain about it.

I installed playbook Simulator version 0.9.3 in Vmware player 3.1.2

The browser in the Simulator can't load pages. Every time I try, I get a message

    Please try again later.

I updated the network settings on the card in the reader of the VM NAT.

Should I do all the network settings to browse web pages?

    Looking forward for your help.

You are on a virtual private network? If so make sure you get off it.

Are you on Windows or Mac?

You can try instead of NAT network bridge and see if VMWare gets you an IP as your host computer, which should have access to the internet.

  • PlayBook Simulator included in the SDK WebWorks for Mac does not start

Hi, I downloaded and installed the WebWorks BlackBerry SDK for Tablet OS for Mac from http://us.blackberry.com/developers/tablet/webworks.jsp . I have VMWare Fusion installed 3.1.2. I used the beta3 .iso Installer to create a virtual machine, and it worked very well. Open the bbwp/blackberry-tablet-sdk/BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator-1.0.1/BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator.vmx file load VMWare Fusion and adds a virtual machine named "BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator" in my VM library. When I try to 'turned on' virtual machine, nothing happens. The power seems to be on for two seconds and turns off the virtual machine. I can't find all the lines from log in Console.app. the 'Virtual Machine'-> 'Force Start Up' menu is no help either. I download the stand-alone "BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator for Mac", that is also marked v1.0.1 but I am not optimistic if it is delivered as a set of folders VMware. Please do not make me run the PlayBook Simulator in a virtual Windows XP machine!

    Hi jaschroe,

Try to manually copy the folder BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator - 1.0.1 to another location on your Mac and then try to open this copy of the VMX file in VMware Fusion. (No need to re - install).

The Simulator is limited at this stage to deal purely with AIR apps only? or is there a problem with my installation.

I was hoping to test the functionality of the browser for certain web applications, HTML5 etc before going into a java application development.

    Thank you!

Yes.  Currently the BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator can be used only to test custom air applications.

  • The difficulty to launch android applications reconditioned on device PlayBook (Simulator OK)

Just updated my android app and it passed verification.  I will install on my PlayBook, and it won't start.

The application works on the new 2.0 PlayBook Simulator very well, but when I go to install on the current device, it installs, but will not start.

I tried without success (all these I tried both USB and WiFi connection) the following:

    • Restart the PlayBook after the 2.0 update (several times)
    • Signature of the bar and the deployment using command-line tools
    • Do not sign the bar and deployment via command line tools (after configuring Debug token)
    • Deployment by using the new eclipse plugin - is to expire, I have even increased the time-out value of 60 seconds and much more), it gets stuck on "Launch BlackBerry Android Runtime."... ", then a message that says" failed to connect ├a 192.168.1.139 to BAD! »

Also, I'm under Mac OSX Lion and v2.0.0.3778 PlayBook.

Anyone else having any of these issues or having luck getting your reconditioned apps to run on the real device?

Any of you installed a pre-beta version of an Android player that has been disclosed on another forum?

Whether a security wipe can be in the order that I suspect that the two versions of the player are probably in conflict!

  • Debugging on Playbook Simulator

    Hello

I use the last PlayBook Simulator (for Mac), VMWare Fusion 4.1, 3.7, Java 1.6 Eclipse, latest BlackBerry Plugins for Android development in Eclipse and all on OS X Lion 10.7.3.

Now: whenever I try to launch my application on the Simulator, Eclipse shows me:

    [Problem Occured]
'Launching MyAPP' has encountered a problem.
    null

Anyone have an idea on how to solve this problem or at least where to get more information?

    ~ Chris

OK, the problem was: Eclipse was running under Java 1.6, although the system "by default" JRE was 1.7.

To change the default JRE on a Mac, open the 'Java preferences' (for example via spotlight).

  • PlayBook Simulator (OS version 2.1.0.1032) Configuration-> accounts Page does not

    Hello

I am trying to add an email account to do tests on Simulator PlayBook (OS version 2.1.0.1032). I have my Blackberry ID properly configure under settings, but when I go to the "Accounts" page, it has disabled the 'Add a new account' button and the screen keeps displaying the "circle of progress" on the page.

Has anyone encountered this problem where they are not able to add an e-mail account on Simulator? any workaround suggested?

    Thank you.

    Hello

This feature is not supported in BlackBerry PlayBook simulators, as there is no mail client. If you want to test or set up e-mail, you will need to use a physical BlackBerry PlayBook.

    Thank you

I just tested your batch file and it works perfectly fine on my installation. No errors.

Have you tried to reinstall the Simulator? I had to install and uninstall 3 times until I'm mining work. Not the same problem, but worth a try maybe.

Just encountered this problem as for me to clear the error, under the project - execution/debug settings properties. I chose the run configuration for the simulator which was giving me this error.

Click on change, on the main tab, uncheck the box - clear data for application to each launch.

Basically, I think that all 500 errors are cause by the compiler cannot find a previous run of the application, tend to get these errors a lot after the Simulator was just updated
