BlackBerry smartphone Curve 8520 Volume knob no longer works

The button on the right side of my Curve 8520 volume up no longer works today.  Is there a solution?  Is there another way I can control my volume when listening to music?  I really don't want to if I can replace my current curve.  Help, please

Hello Jbarel,

Please contact your vendor where you bought, if it is under warranty.

If its out of warranty, then you can get it checked by a technician more close to your place.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Curve 8520 - multiple problems (youtube, instant messaging, the overall processing speed)

    Hi all!

I grabbed by BB Curve 8520 just now and even if I like it, I am not completely satisfied with it. I use my BB on the carrier of Vodafone here in Germany, I have the newest OS installed (v4.6.1.286 (Platform 4.2.0.122)), at least the continuous update tool to tell me there is no update available for my device.

I have a number of problems with it, namely:
-When I watch videos on YouTube, my BB often ends the reading after precicely 01:18 minutes of reading, saying that the wireless connection has been disconnected. I can resume playback again immediately, but it is still very annoying.
-Playback quality on YouTube is sometimes poor. The image is blurry or distorted with previous keyframes (apparently, the media player lack sometimes keyframes). Also, when I look at mode full screen, and playback will stop for buffering, it does not return mode full screen automatically. I have to click on the menu button and click on "Fullscreen" twice.
-After receiving several messages on ICQ, the red light flashing, if I read the posts or not. I can only erase the LED of a single message and its reading.
-L' device is generally quite slow. It keeps stalling sometimes for a few seconds and is particularly slow when rendering of the sites a bit more complex. (The browser repeat me "Requesting the script", "execution script...'"). Sometimes I wait some minutes before I can start browsing a Web site.

I hope someone can help me with this, or at least tell me that those who are known issues that RIM are trying to fix.

    Thank you very much!

From what you have posted here, you have not yet tried what I recommended above. With this process, you are free to use any carriers OS package. There is nothing about the use of a carriers OS package that locks your BB to them. If you use one that is not your 'home' carrier, then simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML.

    Good luck!

  • Icon of the blackBerry smartphone Curve 8520 occupied more and more to come.

My phone started trolling (busy icon). I do not have access to the internet other than linked to my hotmail account. Any ideas please?

Hello and welcome to the community!

Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    Best!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Curve 8520 last chance to enter the password or by telephone shall be cleaned.

Before entering my password [number] I must have pressed the 'alt' key or other, and I was asked to enter 'blackberry' to continue. Then in the password bar, he said also that I had fivemore attempts. No luck.

I gave to my daughter. No luck. Anway there is no more stars [astericks] I see what I'm typing. When I type my password number, letters come instead, and I can't get into my phone.

Suggestions please only have one more to go.

To see if I can get my contacts etc out of my sim card can I put the SIM in another phone, connect to the computer and save to file?

Since the blackberry "BOLD" forum a similar case.

Told off for five minutes and try again.

My problem is why the letters when I am pressing the numbers? the 'alt' is stuck? Or what I have to press 'alt' before entering the Nim-sequence. It's already happened not and do not have to press alt to enter. I just regret touching another button like I was, or just before I entered my password numbers.

    Hi alggomas

Don't know if you have already tried your last attempt, if your unit is asking for the password, you will need to enter the password that you set, if you have a mix of different characters in your password, I think that you are not able to enter properly on the keyboard for BlackBerry. For example, if your password

    • alggomas123
    • And if you enter a > l > g > g > o > m > a > s > alt > 1 > 2 > 3

    the result will be

    • alggomas1er
    • You must enter
    • a > l > g > g > o > m > a > s > alt > 1 > alt > 2 > alt > 3

to get alggomas123 on your device. For example, while on the BlackBerry keyboard, you think you type alggomas123, you actually type alggomas1er

All contacts are stored on our memory of the unit no SIM card, unless you have previously saved or copied these contacts on your SIM card. Also a reset will not delete the contacts stored on your SIM card.

If you think that your alt key is locked, and then do a battery pull reboot by removing the battery while your unit is powered. A lock will be released after a restart battery pull.

You must press the ALT key before entering these numbers. So please, take your time and make sure that you type on your device. If it fails, then if you have a previous backup of your device, or if you use BlackBerry protect then you can restore your data from these backups

  • BlackBerry smartphones is a volume knob or a lead track?

I click the button and sometimes it fits my volume and sometimes it changes songs. Hell, sometimes it does both. Is it possible to force it to do just volume? Why change?

They are double function buttons. Press and release increases or decreases volume. Press and hold the advances to the next track or to the beginning of the current track. It is difficult to get the hang of the difference and he sometimes goes bad, but that's how they work, and I don't think that there is a substitution any (at least not natively).

    Good luck!

  • Restoration of the Intel chipset driver, now the volume knob no longer work. HP 610-1030y, Windows 7

As the title says, I restored the driver Chipset Intel Original HP link, and now I can not adjust the volume of the rocker switch on the left side of the screen, either from the keyboard. Can someone please help me with a fix for this? Thank you!

    Hello

Do you still have the volume icon in the taskbar and you can change the volume or you have a red cross on it?

Can you go into Control Panel, system and check in Device Manager how the audio input is detected?

Try to install the audio driver from this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL37027/pv-91014-1/sp51866.exe

Also, you can update the BIOS, not for the problem you are having, but it's always good to have the latest updates: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp53001-53500/sp53090.exe

Let me know the results of this question.

  • Buttons on Smartphones Curve 8520 blackBerry answers do not or do not do what they should

    Hi all!

My sister has a Blackberry Curve 8520 to the age of 6 months.  She dropped it in water and it no longer works.  I dried (in rice) and bought a new battery for it that the old man has failed.

The phone works and turns on.  However, whenever it is turned on, it displays the message ' eception exception: index 3 > = 3'.  To override what I have to press on enter on the keyboard.  This shows the main screen and all the links, news etc.  The trackball or 4 keys (power, call, etc.) do not respond when I try to press ok.  They all respond when the screen goes well.

The volume button does not work, but the button to camera but I can't leave it by pressing return.  I have to remove the battery.

In the journal of calls by pressing the 4 buttons, from left to right, shows Jk, yi, hl b nm.  Bring down that I have to take out the battery.

    If I try to get the IMEI number after you type the #, pressing on * # turns into 'Quo '.  Pressing SHIFT + a # after U, Alt + a = Q =.

    Is it fixable somehow?

    Thank you.

  • MP3 of blackBerry on Curve 8520 Smartphones?

Hi, I am a complete newbie to Blackberry devices. As I was intending to buy me a 8520 I looked through internet, information on the homepage of the Blackberry and wondering why there is no mention of mp3 files to listen to on the media player. I asked the technical support by e-mail twice, but they don't seem to take my question seriously and all simply not responded or referred me to an articlel knowledge base that does not concern the 8520. I think honestly a little disappointed and I'm getting me Alternatively a different smartphone until I found this place, hoping that someone is able and willing to answer my question as to if the BB 8520 can play mp3-songs.

    Thanks in advance, RREbi

The Curve 8520 as with any new smartphone BlackBerry supports MP3 playback.

The specifications indicated on the Curve 8520 page have been updated to account for this:

  • Smartphones Curve 8520 blackBerry started freezing

    Hello

    Can anyone help please.

My Curve 8520 freezes on start up. What happened was that my facebook app froze after that I tried to disconnect so I decided to re - start the phone and now it freezes 3/4 s at the beginning.

I tried to connect with my desktop software, it is recognized but does not completely connect so I can not connect with any of the function IE restore.

I tried to make a safe re-start but it always sticks to the same point.

If anyone can help I would really appreciate.

    Thank you

    Hello!

    Try the following:

Turn on your BlackBerry and your loading upto moving screen.

Then plug in your device to the charger and let it idol at least 3-4hours.

Sometimes BlackBerry OS takes time to repair automatically due to which your loading unit takes to go from the front of the loading of 3/4 bar.

Please have patience, and it will be done.

I hope that solves your problem!

If your problem has been resolved then would you be asked to click 'Like' and accept as a 'Solution' that other advisors invest it times on this Message more.

  • Smartphones Curve 8520 blackBerry keyboard unlocks randomly

My wife has just started using a Curve 8520 and it was for less than 1 month. In recent days, they phone began to free themselves at random. She uses the "A" button to lock the keyboard how the screen turns off (as it should be, in my view) and then after a minute or two, it unlocks and the screen turns back on.

Can anyone suggest something that we would have missed, or a reason for this behavior?

    See you soon!

Have you tried a reboot to try to cure? The power is turned on, remove the battery for a minute, then replace and allow power.

If this does not work, then try a reload of the OS.

Where is she doing to raise it when it is locked? In a Pocket? Pocket?

  • Smartphones Curve 8520 blackBerry battery drain! Help, please!

Hello world. I desperately need help. Until a week ago my bb curve worked very well. Then all of a sudden I couldn't send or receive MMS. I checked to make sure that nothing has changed with my service plan, and it was beautiful. Then, a few days ago, my battery started to drain quickly. I don't use internet on this subject, I use not all applications other than those basic, and I use only all day. It charges all night while I SLEEP, and then, at the point where I did with a 7-hour working day, the battery is dead. I just checked right now, not yet watched because I took it off the charger, 2 hours ago and its already lost a brick and a half. By reading some things on the internet it looks like apps fast battery drain. But since I do not use those, what would it be? I also wifi and blue tooth off the power, so it cannot be the ones. Looks like a coincidence little precise that my picture messages stop working, and now the battery is dying. Any help? The phone is only a few months, so this seems weird. And for reference, it's a curve 8520 and I use Tmobile. Thank you!!

It's strange. Have you made a difficult start (removed the battery for a few minutes) to clear the memory? Sometimes things get hung up

I use quite a few apps on my own and always close when I leave them, to keep them from power draining. Even with photos, music, Twitter and the Internet, I have to recharge every two or three days.

Mabes, it seems to me that your phone has developed a problem, and you can return to your provider, expecially since it's so new.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Curve 9360 sometimes warms us up a little bit and the battery is discharged

Hi, my blackberry 9360 is sometimes a really weird thing. Once a week, after that I used the device to check email, check facebook or even simply by removing the door in leather and put it right back it drains the battery at a very fast pace and hotter than usual. I'm not aware immediately, but when I use the unit 3 hours later for example the battery is almost all gone and the unit is warmer than usual. Please not that it is warmer, but at a level acceptable, just as if it had been used during this period of time, not overheating. I charge the unit and check the activity monitor application and the CPU was mainly used by the... Idle CPU. The part of the device that heats is not the battery, but the device itself. It is rather annoying because I don't know when it will happen again. The only email account, I have installed is a Hotmail account and it goes as well with wifi on and outside. Someone has an idea it might be? Thank you in advace for help. Best regards, Alexander

    Hello alexandrejv

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

Are sure you you are in an area where you have a good network coverage signal strength or if falls frequently.

While our BlackBerry devices can feel hot tell a long browsing session, play games, download countinous or all supported. If we hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will open a screen that will display all the programs running in the background, usually five will always be there (host, BBM, Message, phone, browser) you can always check if any other applications. run in the background.

We should always try to close Applications correctly - avoid using key end to close the applications because it just minimizes the application and let it run in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select close or Exit to exit the application. Don't let your browser open when not in use. If programs are running in the background, it will also allow overheating and also to quick battery drainage. Please take a look at those Article I don't know that it will help you overcome your problems:
