BlackBerry Smartphone email question

I am a new user of blackberry and you have the 8830 World Edition.

I want to tell her to NOT download e-mail unless I he REQUEST.  I found an option in help who said that I could tell him not to do so when it was connected (charge), but this option does not seem to exist on my Blackberry Desktop program (where he says, ' I want to find an option to e-mail).

Any advice on how I can do this?  I don't want to download my email all the time - only when I'm out of the House.  In this way, it is not complete the blackberry with a ton of e-mail.

Also, is there a way to delete all your messages quickly, except button menu for each email and him asking to delete it?

Thank you!

1 not easily. There is not a setting ON the device to "do not download email. On the one hand, the BlackBerry, is not 'Download' email, he is "pushed" to your device on a regular basis, without your intervention. It is the glory of push email RIM that has put the company on the plan. You're used to the old style (and do not do well) method of Palm or WinMo where you laboriously tell the device to retrieve and download all new messages.

You can the people with reduced mobility and reactivate your e-mail settings in the connection to the BIS account where you configure the e-mail account... but this isn't a good option.

2. Yes. You can set your device to automatically delete messages when you press DELETE and then not ask for confirmation.

Messages folder > Menu key (to the left of the trackball) > Options > General Options > delete = no

Also, you can delete several adjacent messages by scrolling to the first delete and then pressing the SHIFT key (lower-left) and scrolling upwards or downwards to the walls messages. Press the delete key. Went.

OR by scrolling to any date separator bar in the list of messages by pressing Menu > delete prior.

May I suggest you look at www.stinsonddog.com and download the PDF file for the device advice 8800 at the bottom of the page. These and MANY more basic fundamental questions is studied it. After reading it, you'll feel like a PRO. Print the document and read and practicing the tips on the device while reading it.

Good luck.

  • BlackBerry smartphones email questions after operating system upgrade (update initially failed)

I'm on the AT & T network.  Updated my OS to 4.5.  Screen showed that all backed up, and then when he started the download, I had a system failure.  Released A card sim and retries.  Updated of the operating system, but all my apps disappeared.  All reinstalled unless the password keeper, task and blackberry email.

The big problem is the email. (although I like a lot the other two applications!)  I can receive email from yahoo and gmail, but cannot send as it says that my phone is not configured.  When I try to go reconfigure, it ask for my pin code and said that an e-mail account is already set up for this phone.  I never use my blackberry account so I have no idea what my username and password are (the info was probably stored in the password lock).  I want to just delete the original blackberry e-mail account and reconfigure.  Help!

If you are a user of Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) company - ask your BES administrator to resolve this point on the server.

Seems that there is information that your device (identified by the PIN) has already configured e-mail account on the server.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Email question

I have 4 different e-mail accounts linked to my BB, but I'm having a problem with a (Yahoo).  Specifically - as long as I have a Yahoo mailbox on my BB, I can not access my Yahoo from my PC account regularly.  If someone has experienced this problem - and if so, what is the fix?  My BES and my MSN work fine - and I can make Yahoo mail of the BB, but whenever I try to access my Yahoo from my PC it doesn't let me log in (assuming that I am connected permanently on the BB).  Please advise - thanks a lot!

Hey there A-N-B, thanks for the reply.  I directly now - simply had to restart the service (BIS) for this particular email account (Yahoo).  Went back and tested and even being connected to the BB, I can hit it from the PC now as well.  False alarm - all good now - take care :-)

  • Setup of blackBerry Smartphone email and BBM number on 9780

    Hi all

Recently, I noticed that my bbm "n" shortcut did not, all the other shortcuts like memo, calculator, etc. have been working well. I cross checked the "n" key on the message, e-mail etc., which works very well. It was obvious that the key is fine, probably thinking of the device is in need of an upgrade of the OS, I upgraded to 6.0.0.706 to the download site for the India BB software. Since then he has screwed my application of messaging and bbm on the device configuration. The problem started after I configured my device after the upgrade of the OS, without doing something fancy. Now, I am unable to work my e-mail installation or bbm.

The trickiest part, the E-mail setup application:

When I work through installation and choose the email Setup icon, ideally it should give me two options. 1. business account and 2.  Internet e-mail account.

After the upgrade the email set up gives me settings to choose from business accounts, where the option of Internet e-mail account? After a thorough and exhausting, research in the community, I heard people talking about relocation of the configuration of the e-mail application. Done that but still no go. So now, I can't add my e-mail address, ' coz there is no option or how to configure it.

    For bbm:

I have a return to the top of my contacts, which I've tried to run over and over again, but it brings back me to the original configuration and asks me to enter the display name. Now restore backup should restore my profile/contacts, but it doesn't. On a positive note, my shortcut for bbm works!

I would also like to bring to your notice that I have a bis plan on my device, active, but after upgrading my app world or native applications do not work on bis but wifi. Strange! Now the question is why would the upgrade of a simple bone cause me so many problems. I upgraded my phone several times since I bought it. This is driving me crazy and crazy, this phone has an excellent reputation and does not mean I am a bit disappointed by his performance or his now making me hurt.

Please help, I don't want to empty this phone!

    Hello abhijit17

Well... How updated the OS using desktop software or OTA, OS update should not ask this question.

Hi everyone, I really need help with this, its driving me crazy! I have a blackberry bold 9930 sprint, 7.1 Bundle 1737 (v7.1.0.580 platform 5.10.429), free space is listed at 154523817 bytes.

I have my email through godaddy, which is secureserver.net. This is Courier IMAP. From Friday or Saturday, my emails do not grow automatically. Sometimes it should be hours and hours before all my emails will pour out at once. Battery pull worked, but now the battery pull does nothing.

I tried to send service books today, but now I can't even access the e-mail account management option to send service directories. When I enter the application, it says 'check updates' but never recovers. I left about 10 minutes today and will continue to say: "check updates".

Anyone else having any questions or know what in the world happens suddenly? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... ( Please wait for this before moving on to the next step) :

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

  • Torch 9800 blackBerry Smartphone email not showing problem!

    Hello world

I got my BB Torch 9800 for a few months. Already used to work properly, all my emails used appears in the messages folder. But these days, when I get emails my bb flashes red and it shows on the top of screen email icon. But when I open my messages folder shows an empty without any email folder, even though I can see the icon of e-mail showing pending emails there. I'm aware of this option which, if I press menu bb and then tap show all, my e-mail address with my name will appear. This way I can display the e-mails received. But I don't want to use this option, because I prefer all my emails go to the messages folder, that way I can have more space to download other applications. Please help and any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Note: if I recharge my camera all e-mails shows up in the messages folder. I don't want to reboot my device whenever I face this prblem.

Is my QUESTION HARD to ANSWER? No one's taken the trouble to give me an answer, why?

  • BlackBerry smartphones my questions on the Storm 2 9520

Hello everyone I do not have a Blackberry but I intend to update my phone soon and get a (I currently have a Nokia N95 8 GB). I looked through the list of Blackberry models, and the 9520 that I fell in love was the Storm 2 9520. I will probably get one, but I have several questions that I couldn't find clear answers on google. I'm picky about details on a phone, so I want to know everything before get you it. Here is the list of things that I had on my mind:

-J' read that this phone records videos in 3gp format and not mp4. I'm a little worried about that, because I feel 3gp is less intense than mp4 by Windows (Win 7 user here). For example, 3gp, I filmed with an old phone years ago don't even open correctly in most players and no audio. So, is the format the phone records in playable correctly in Windows (Linux too)?

-J' I always rename my pictures and my videos after taking. With the 9520, you can click a button or menu entry to rename an image / clip immediately after making it? Or they be saved with a name only automated, and you need to open your file browser and navigate to the file to be renamed?

-A curiosity, I got on the touch screen if it is based only on the detection of heat or by pressing physics too. What I've seen, the heat detection is used when you lightly touch the screen and select the stuff / drag, while only pressing is used actually click. I'm curious because I could use my phone outside in the winter when I have leather gloves, and the screen can not detect my body energy then. Of course, it is difficult to use any phone with gloves, but I sometimes do to some extent

-Use the charger micro-usb port, or another port? I know that some devices that use USB for charging and connection to the computer, which is a method that I prefer in general. No problem if it is not, just curious.

-In the specs of the phone, it says maximum 8 GB micro-SD cards are supported. Someone can confirm that more cards are inconsistent and do not work (16 / 32 GB ones)?

-J' read on a website that the only way to configure e-mail is to have a Blackberry Enterprise Server (do not exactly know what what). But you need to register with Blackberry using a classic IMAP / POP email account (like gmail or yahoo mail)? And besides, you need to register with any Blackberry service to use 3 G internet supplier or to use messenger (YIM MSN and AIM)? I'm guessing not, but always ask to be sure.

-J' heard some phones have this limit / problem, so just to be safe: can put you MP3 transferred from your computer as ringtones? Or do you need to download them online from special services, as I heard some phones force you to?

-J' read on several websites that there are complications with the installation of applications via the data cable. That's how I install most of my programs of others on phones. So if I have a jar or jad file on my desktop, is there no possible to install it via data cable unless I have an additional file with it? Same question for no java Blackberry applications.

-All Web sites mention that the OS 5 web browser does not support flash on web pages (which I find quite sad). However, I can still play the files flash directly from my phone so I just open the swf file?

-Can you play audio files in ogg / wav format? In addition, it can play video ogv, avi or mpeg?

-Can I download themes for it that change the icons and colors of the menus? I guess the definition of custom screen (independent of the subject) shouldn't be a problem. Also, is there a free software that allows you to create your own themes and exporting it to the phone via data cable?

-Are there also a front-facing camera for 3G video chat?

-J' read on the differences between the 9520 and 9550 and that the 9550 has a frequency of additional network, sure it can work. Everyone says that you can not use a Blackberry in America if you buy it in Europe, in particular the 9520. Is this true? And the more vital than the 9520 9550 compatibility?

-OS 6 will come to the 9520 too? Some sites say it won't, while than others whether in devices that it will support an update. Hope very much it will be

-Finally, this could be a sensitive issue and I don't know how poorly seen on it is here. But it's easy to unlock / debrand the 9520? I would like to get the latest versions of firmware and do not have the limited phone.

Someone mentioned the provider to branding is not done for commercial reasons, but in order to keep the compatible phone (and shouldn't even be illegal to debrand). So I think it should be ok.

Yes, they are a lot of questions that may seem ridiculous. I got this phone for several years, so I want to know all about it. Thanks to all those who can help you meet them, and keep up the good work with phones

Wow! You do your job, I admire that! I'll answer what I can...

3GP is the native video recording format. All you need is the codec on your PC to read. I downloaded a free transcoder and it not only transcode avi (and other formats) for me, but also to put the codec appropriate in what I can play natively without transcoding. QuickTime, I think a codec were also held. There are plenty of audio and the recorded video.

Hmmm... haven't really tried to do... worst case, of course you can rename them later.

In fact, storm BBs use two detection of heat as well as the physical press. It's called SurePress technology. Heat detection determines where on the screen you touch and then physical pressure activates the 'click' somehow. The entire screen is great physical button, whose activity is determined by your finger on the screen position when you press. As such, I doubt it'll work with gloves on at all. I know, on the ski slopes, I remove my glove to do something with my 9550.

On the BB, a port for all functions. Micro USB for charging and attached USB data transfer. When connected to a PC with the drivers installed, the BB will be time load (from the USB port of the PC) as well as allow the transfer of data.

Technically, the BB model is unrelated to the size of the SD card, it supports. It is rather a function of the OS level that the BB is running according to the instructions this KB:

What this site is fake. If you happen to be in a business with BES (or purchase hosted BES) environment, you can indeed have the enhanced features that allow only to BES. But, through BIS (Blackberry Internet Service), you can interface more all connected to the internet e-mail services. See this:

I've never tried it myself, but I'm sure you can define file types to be ringtones to several media.

Yes, you can download themes (I have to admit no experience with this...) I found no need to use themes that I need my BB to feature what I need... themes he dressed simply in my humble OPINION). I have no idea on how to create themes.

This issue is not that I consider as responsible. Everyone has their particular circumstances they need to meet. The features of the search machine and the frequency ranges of carriers that you want to run. Then choose the device that fits your specific needs.

With the series Storm conspicuous by their absence, I consider any current to be candidates for the OS6.0 storms. But it is indeed in my humble OPINION.

Hmmm... release information can be found here:

But I'm not sure of your premises. You seem to be saying that you are locked in your level of update of carriers, as long as your BB is blocked. This is false. Unlocking is simply the function to allow your BB run on a network of different carriers... at the level of the BONE is irrelevant to that. You are free to use the carriers released OS for your specific model BB... There is just a tiny thing that you need to follow. But unlocking is not necessary to do so. There's nothing illegal or anything about unlocking. But it is useless unless and until you want to reverse your BB to another carrier.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Messages can take many forms, with emails using only a subset of the possible types total of messages. So, I suggest a search of message:

    • KB21879 How to search messages unread on the BlackBerry smartphone

Good luck and let us know!

  • View blackBerry Smartphone email problems

I have 3 email addresses Setup on my Bold 9900.  Last week, I must have changed something because everytime I open the messages folder, I see that my text messages.  Similarly, when I try to open all the mail files three electronic... SMS folder opens.  I know I get emails but I can not access e-mail records.  They appear but when I open them the text message folder opens.  Help please!

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your BIS configuration for these accounts.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones strange question need help ASAP!

I have a strange problem with my Blackberry "BOLD" 4 9900, sometimes when I receive or make a call, the phone is connected and I don't get 2 hear the person at the other end, and vice versa, the only solution for this is hard reboot the phone that is like taking the battery and have it pop back in and then things works very well and it's soething that happens daily is there a way to diferrent without restarting the phone and why it happens instead of 1 m, also I got the replacement of the device like the previous, it was cut and after investigation of blackberry, they gave me a new device. The version of the OS in the mine is 7.1.0.746 (2108), I was invited by the service 7.1 bundle downgrade and backup center 1646, which I am not ready to do what it takes forever and I have to reinstall all the software back and set up e-mail. What would you suggest?

Also the latest BBM version which is 7.0.1.23 is installed, my phone that has WiFi but unlike previous versions where they had a backup and restore under backup management option that is no longer there, there at - it a way to get that back, I had uninstalled and reinstalled BBM but still does not work and the desktop software is not save BBM groups or pins?

Well thank you for the steps of IMRT I'll take an impression outside until I do it just to be double sure and I installed restart me that works well but has 2 questions in my mind. Why my phone should behave mumb silent n when I get a phone call or have to do one and the is to run return is of restarting it.

This happens usually when application runs in the background, or because of any unknown third-party application installed within our system, or due to lack of memory. Reboot to shoot some time A battery is enough to solve this problem. If press and hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will appear a screen that will display all the programs running in the background, usually five will always be there (host, BBM, Message, phone, browser) you can always check if any other applications. are running in the background, if they then close them properly.

We should always try to close Applications correctly - avoid using key end to close the applications because it just minimizes the application and let it run in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select close or Exit to exit the application. Do not leave your browser open on a page of Web active when not in use. If programs are running in the background, that this will lead to problems that you are experiencing now. Please take a look at this Article, I don't know that it will help you overcome your problems:

Also, you mentioned the OS upgrade to make the site of Vodafone UK as it approves Indian have not come out, I hope it's a generic file and has nothing to do with zonal or regional my phone settings.

There is no generic OS! The link I gave you is an official OS from Vodafone UK, install it without any hesitation he will not affect your device

Let me know if you have any questions.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones emails and Messages of mixture that can be resolved?

Is there a way to stop my e-mails and messages in the mixture it is very annoying to have to remove twice. I also need help on how to download ringtones I did what the book said to do but without success, I also tried to connect it to my computer, someone please help!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with my little problem.

Did you mean that your emails and text messages are coming in the same folder? If so then try the following-

    Separate messages-> Options-> General Options-> E-mail and SMS: separate

If you mean your different built-in emails appearing in mail and separate mail folder then please be informed that this default happenes. BlackBerry smartphone is designed as such if you think this is awkward, can hide Messages folder (press the Alt button-> click-> Menu select hide).

  • Notice of blackBerry Smartphones Email

    People;

My Curve 9300 showed that I was still 1 email in my Inbox, after that I had deleted all. No Biggie-, but it rose to indicate that I have 3 emails in my Inbox - when in fact, I don't have any.

Is it possible to erase it?

    See you soon!

    Pete
