BlackBerry smartphone how to install manually a cert on the phone

I've seen some KB13355, which is not much help.  It indicates that you can manually import a cert that is received on the phone via emnail, but I can't find how to do this.  We do not want our users to install if possible Office Manager.  I checked the users guide and searched the RIM support site but can't seem to find instructions on how to manually import the cert.

Thank you

OK - I just tried a test... try this.

On the BB, open an email containing the attachment .cer. Scroll down to the bottom of the message and find the link to the cert downstairs (not the 'Annex 1' above). Highlight, then click on the BBKey. Select the certificate to recover (you might need to open the full menu). Then BBKey again and select view certificate... which should show you even more options. Unfortunately, I cannot completely validate the installation process that I already have the cert installed on mine I need, so he told me to go ahead would not be good because what I installed is newer than what I display.

Let us know how it goes. (I agree - I thought that it would be simpler!)

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to install the new language? == > french

By mistake I delete all my blackBerry Bold 9900 formulations.

    Rest than English.

I would add yet another language ==> french example...

In desktop software, I don't have in Applications: "Language and support of entry" to choose...

Hello and welcome to the community!

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.
    • Use this KB to help you choose the good alternative OS to include the language you want:
      • Article ID: KB05305 Location of support for BlackBerry smartphones

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue. During the process, when it presents you with the screen of the things Application Loader to install on your device, make sure to develop options and select all items that relate to your desired language.

Once the operating system is loaded, you can proceed with the activation of the language you want and restoring your backup (on the device).

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

    Hi Srinivas_akyana,

Please copy paste a file downloaded in your memory card from the device.

& access on your devcie, you will find a folder name OC2007 > there will be a lot of folder inside, so you must select the folder according to your OS devcie (suppose you have 7 OS and then open the for_7.0.0 folder > click file .jad of the language in which you want to install the application (suppose you want English choose so oc2007_700_en.jad))

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to install apps on my bb

I know it's a pretty stupid question, but I am trying to install a new app on my storm. 'S called it stormslider. Stormslider

I downloaded the file and the file type is a .jad file when I go to my bb Desktop Manager and try to add the application, it does not appear to recognize it. I opened the application loader it shows my apps that I have already installed before. But when I click on browse to click on the app it recoginzes only files with a type of file .ali .alx files. If I do something wrong? I'm so lost.

    Thank you.

There are 3 important files for installation on a BlackBerry smartphone:

    1. the *.cod file. It contains the application and the application's resources.

    2. the *.jad file, it is necessary when you install *.cod via the internet connection.

    3. the file * .alx, it is necessary when you install an application via the Desktop Manager.

So there must always be a file *.jad *.cod or a *.cod and *.alx together. When you install an application via the Desktop Manager, make sure that the *.cod and the *.alx file are in the same folder.

  • BlackBerry smartphones how configure e-mail, add apps, use the web via wireless modem?

    Hello

Have a new 8310. Operating system is v4.5.0.37 platform 2.7.0.55I'm in Australia, currently with Telstra, but by train to change.

I didn't buy a data plan for the phone. I have a wireless modem for my desktop & wondering if I can use this to connect my phone to the web without buying data?

Do I need a data plan to send emails? Can I use my acct (yahoo) of existing email online, or I need to set up a special telephone? If so, please explain where and how? If this is not the case, what other info I have to configure the existing one? It seems that I need a PIN and e-addy & password (and assuming this is the yahoo password?)

    TIA

    NO.

Yes. Basically, to do anything other than use of the phone, you need a data plan. Period.

    Loosie wrote:

Yes... See the above reading material.

    Loosie wrote:

    No.... not required.

    Loosie wrote:

PIN... hmmm... There are several definitions for this acronym in the world of BB. The most usual is a unique identifier, as an IP address or phone number, that is assigned to the factory to your BB. It is used to register your BB for various services (Yes, through a data plan) to identify your BB on the network.

    I hope this helps.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can not install Desktop Manager due to the DEP.

    BlackBerry users good day.

I just of me a BlackBerry Storm 1 and I would like to install the Desktop Manager.

I downloaded the installation from the website and tried to install it.

At the beginning it goes well, that I start, select my country... but then...

... When I chose my country and I click then the installation hangs and I get the DEP error.

I looked around these forums, but I am not getting any help.

    Could someone help me please?

I'm pretty annoyed by this error.

I hope to have a useful answer.

    Kind regards

    Jurrien van Rooij.

Unfortunately not, as with most of the facilities of software, information must be written in some parts of the computer, such as the registry, and you can just use a USB flash drive to run your applications.

This error is a Microsoft Windows error occurs when Windows detects code that is run from a protected location  At this point, Microsoft is your best bet for support as it is not an error of BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Priv autorotation setting returns to portrait when the phone is turned off

I like to keep the orientation of the phone to turn but will not hold the adjustment.  I change the setting for automatic rotation whenever I turn on the camera, but once I got disabling the phone setting goes back to the Portrait.  I have other Android devices, and I have a Z10 and Q10 and never had to put auto-rotation once.  I've been foolling around during almost two weeks now with the support of BB and all I get is an evasive.  (They answer as I am stupid and do not know the difference between the two icons.)  I changed the quick setting of parameters and display, it always comes back to portrait when the phone is off.  Does anyone have ideas on this?

Hmmm... Well, I don't remember what is happening for me with this exact same build. All I can do is recommend you try again with formal support... something is wrong if she does that.

Or, if you don't want to talk to them, another thing, you could try the BBVE app, to see if he can identify any problems:

Otherwise, this has always been like that? If this isn't the case, then what has changed just before everything started? A new application? An update of a certain type? Something else? Think very carefully that the smallest thing could be causal.

In addition, the only thing I can recommend is a reload of the OS, using what I call the "skeleton" procedure, in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

    1. Via the autoloader, load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones device update to v5.0 froze restart the phone

    Hello

I was upgrading the software of my Blackberry Bold 9000 to v5.0 on my PC using the USB cable and it froze on the stage of "reboot" (he completed the backup, then the installation step), it is said (on the progress of the computer window) it is extended connection to the device, but it has been like that for 4 hours now. The phone is frozen on the screen to start the business, I have not disconnected from PC since it says that doing so can unusable device, and also if something was wrong, I would like to restore my data from the backup of automatic upgrade. Any suggestions how to solve this problem?

    Hiya!

Does show anything at all? or just "Unknown"?

Phone key > Menu key > options > General options > Show My Number is set to 'Yes' and limit my identity is set to 'network '?

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to install / check Blackberry Attachment Service on BIS?

Some of our BB users have recently noted that some attachments (PDF) are no longer visible on their BB Curve 3 G phone.  I found a lot of messages saying that the 'Blackberry Attachment Service' is required, but I couldn't identify this option in the application loader, even after installing the latest version of BB OS (version 6).

Is it possible to install this service on a BIS price or is it only available for BES users?

Or, if the upgrade to the latest version should be sufficient to stop some attachments in PDF not be visible?

I've identified the solution to our problem with some attachments being an "unknown type" on the Blackberry Curve 3 G.

The question is how the emails are sent, more precisely on our case by using Microsoft Outlook.

It seems that the problem is that if the email is sent in 'Rich text', that the Blackberry can NOT deal.

    The attachment appears as "winmail.dat."

If the emails are sent using HTML format or plain text the Blackberry then allows attachments to be read without any problem.

If you encounter the "the this type of attachment cannot be considered on the device" then it could have been sent to you in Rich Text format, I suggest you contact the sender and asking them to change the format.

I hope this helps, it was a nightmare trying to solve for me.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to install a certificate from browser OTA

Anyone know if it is possible to install a certificate from browser (for authentication) OTA?

I know that if the certificate is installed in internet explore, we can use the Desktop Manager to synchronize with the device certificates. But unfortunately most of our users have not installed the Desktop Manager.

First of all, I was thinking about policies to push the certificate on the device, but our admin BB told me that you can

not set policies by user (one certificate per user).

I would be nice if it was possible to send the user a link http (email), so that it can launch the browser and download the certificate. Just like in ie or firefox.

    Any ideas?
