BlackBerry smartphone how to set up POP Mail

I have a new Bold 9700. I'm new to the blackberry and for the life of me I don't see how to set up POP mail or internet access through my 3 G connection. all my other phones, I had in the past, when I incerted my social insurance card, I would get 3 SMS and all I had to do was save them and my internet was put in place. but my Blackberry has never these messeges. is it possible to set up my access to 3 G Internet and my POP mail? all I can find is an option to set up an Enterprise Server, and I don't have another option that all the books say I should have? any help anyone can offer woud be great. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the info. you're right, I probably have a Blackberry account through my provider of the support cell. I didn't know this until I bought this phone. I love on the phone, except that I wish RiM would have included courier pop and internet through the cellular provider without the need to have a special account. It's expensive and with the extra cost, I don't want to activate the account. Thanks again for the info.

Hello

It is unfortunate that you did not know this before purchase... a pity indeed. But, be aware that BB provides some unique items that are for the customer BB companies don't. For example, carriers must install and maintain a unique infrastructure that is only for their BB customers. As a result, they may charge extra for these services. It is regrettable that they have not revealed these facts you advance... oh, it's the companies that control the price... no RIM.

Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how I respond to e-mail

If someone sends me an email and I hit the reply button, I'm allowed to type my response, but the only choice I have when I want to send, "Save draft" or DELETE.  When I read the FAQ, it indicated that I must go to the individual name who sent me email, hit dial and then send.   Before resetting and updated my BB software, I could answer without problem.  Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?   Chuck

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your BIS lines for these accounts.

Of after what you have provided, the only advice is to give you the instruction set:

    • KB04478 Integrate POP with the BlackBerry Internet Service accounts

Of this, it is rather impossible to guess further... now, if she is some sort of error message, then maybe we can make a better guess.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to set up internet and e-mail?

    Hello!

I recently bought a BB 8300 BES (I guess) and West no way to configure it! All I can do is to activate email business (which I did not), and theres no option of browser or via e-mail (I can not add email accounts)! Is it possible to change to BIS? My ISP gave me all the info I have to configure my device, but I can't find where.

Thanks a lot for your help!

If your provider has only a BlackBerry of pay-per-use plan, not a data plan unlimited BlackBerry? When you talked to them how did say you must configure e-mail accounts?

BES or BIS isn't the software, just the 2 types of plans you can choose from. With BIS, you can configure up to 10 personal email accounts, browse the internet and includes the package data unlimited (generally excluding text messaging). With this plan, your Inbox of your e-mail account synchronizes with a BlackBerry. All data must be synchronized via a wired connection with the Desktop Manager software. The price of this plan is usually about $30 (depending on your operator).

BES has all of that with the addition of the messaging capability of installation on the device company. If your employer has a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) all data allows to synchronize the BlackBerry wireless. The price of this plan is usually about $ 45 (depends on your operator).

It sounds simple enough, I had a look at this guide to set up Blackberry Storm email: http://www.611connect.com/howto/amber_how-to-setup-gmail-on-your-blackberry-storm, but my problem is that I don't have an e-mail tab on my Storm in the configuration section.

    How do I configure this?

Hi, thanks for the help, but I subscribe to the data plan, so it must be something else, or my provider was not me registered for the one I selected...

    very frustrating!

To set up my 8330, I selected the option for emails go directly to my Blackberry; However, I believe that now I would have been better served by selecting the option for email being "redirect" to my computer at home.  How can I go about changing the redirector option?

    Thank you

    SedonaBob

In your PC go to control panel of-> click on Add / Remove Programs-> select-> Blackberry Desktop Manager-> click on change / remove-> click on edit, then instead select the check box for Blackberry Internet Service, check the box next to Enterprise Server/redirector.

Attachments are not downloaded in the default BlackBerry. They are downloaded only when you specifically choose to do. There is nothing that you need to configure to do this.

OK I looked everywere in the phone to be able to choose a ringtone for my MMS, text and my email thru blackberry.net and I can't seem to find a way to do it. I need to be notified when an incoming message is received, someone at - it indexes?

My carrier is Verizon just in case where what matters.

Should be able to if you go into your profiles on the home screen icon. In the menu that appears scroll down to advanced. Click the profile 'Active'. From there, you can click on the category of Messages to change Holster/In case settings to control how the device will work for incoming emails. You can also change the SMS category to change the incoming text message response.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to choose what e-mail account to send

I have a 8330 from Verizon. I have the option enabled company and send and receive e-mails from my very good corporate email server.

However, I also created my personal account on the BB. I get personal e-mails as well. But I want to be able to send emails via my personal account. At present, all emails sent through the company, that I * don't * want to happening.

How can I configure the BB so I can choose which account to send from email?

    Thank you!

Open your personal e-mail and send a message from here, it should also be a separate icon, all messages will go into your main folder, but it must be in this BIS account to send from this account BIS.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to set up spam control?

Is it possible to implement spam controls so I did not so much junk e-mail? I use AOL for personal use and Outlook for business messaging. He does not age to have not remove so many spam messages! Help!

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

Which is BETTER done at the mail server level, for example on AOL spam controls. Your BB seizes all e-mails and pushed back them to the device, so once it hits the server, it's the unit. If you can squeeze your spam on AOL and your professional account controls, this is the way to go...

Otherwise, AntAir is the only BB spam filter I've seen...

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to remove the e-mail account?

Hi I just bought a BB Storm and owned a BB curve. I gave my BB curve to my daughter so she can use it, I made a transfer of information to and from BB but my email account is still active on my BB Curve. I tried to wipe it complete, but it is still there, how do I remove my email address from my old BB?

    PHEW!

    Thank you!!!

The e-mail configuration is stored in the ENCORE, not the BB itself (the BB has an interface for BIS, but BIS is the carrier). Thus, wiping the BB does nothing on the configuration. You have to go to

    • Settings > email settings

PC/browser on your BIS site or carriers:

and remove the configuration for the e-mail account.

    Hope that helps!

  • BlackBerry smartphones how stop my personal e-mail to appear on my business mail folder

    Hello everyone;

I just got my new BB "BOLD" that is configured for the company of my company email. I added my yahoo email address, but now my email as my yahoo mail are appearing in my main e-mail on the BB folder. There is a second icon for my yahoo e-mail which is as I expected.

How can I configure the BB so each folder get their own emails?

    Thank you in advance.

    Bernadette

Well, it's actually not your corporate messages folder... it's your main message folder.

You can separate your BES email in the main folder with application of your BES Admin (ask them) or thrust to help empower the BES Inbox (check google).

Your personal mail to BIS will always go in main mail, impossible to remove.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to set the phone lock and password

I have a new "BOLD" of BB and have forgotten how to program the phone to lock automatically after not used to say 5 or 10 minutes.

You don't say what model # of "BOLD", so these may vary...

    Options > Security > password.

Set the password and the amount time to before the device itself is locked.
