  Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order.

  If you have a new icon rogue Message on your home screen, or a negative number (-1), one of these solutions could erase or reset:

  Try these options:
  * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
  Messages > saved Messages
  Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
  * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
  Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
  * Clean and reload your OS.

  Hello, im quite new to the forum so im do not know where this post too, basically I recently updated my software to phones to OS 6. Now, I noticed that whenever I have block my phone via the button mute / reading located on top of the phone an alert makes a noise and says so 'you have no new messages', it's really annoying because it is same when phones on silent, perhaps someone could help me?

  I use BB9860 (OS7). After a few days running, now still I receive 1 message as unread in the e-mail.

  I even open individually all the mails in the inbox and marked as read. But always showing 1 message as unread. If new 5 messages is delivered to the Inbox, and then it shows like 6 message as unread. After reading messages 5 the altar dates back to 1 message as unread.

  I would like to know how to clear this message.

  Follow the advice of gnarled and then remove the battery while your phone is on and replace it a few seconds later. It worked for me.

  I had a problem with my flashlight since I downloaded the updates of some apps the other day. Now, whenever the Mute button on the upper right part of the torch is hit, a gong sounds and a few seconds later, a female voice says "you have no new messages." My phone is always on the silence, but the voice and the carillon still sound at full volume. This happens frequently that the button fires when my phone is in my pocket. Does anyone else have this problem and I hope to know how to disable?

  Go to Options > device > application and look through the list of installed applications. Do you see anything that looks like its place there?

  If there is, just delete the application that was guilty. If this isn't the case, then there are two more radical options, including making a security wipe to reset your phone or a complete reload of the operating system. If you do not know what app could be causing it, the list of your third-party applications here and we can see if anything could be the cause.

  I have the Blackberry Storm, v. 4.7.0.75, and my phone shows w / an astrik on "SMS" icon on the home screen that I have new messages. It does NOT indicate that at the top of the home screen where the time is displayed as it does normally if there are any new texts, emails, etc. I get out my phone's battery and replaced it, and the astrik went maybe 5 seconds, then reappeared again. If I go to the menu screen (show all icons) then go back to the home screen, the astrik will disappear momentarily and then come back. I have NO new messages, all saved messages, or something like that. If anyone knows what I can do, please help.

  Please use Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs cleanup tool to completely remove DC Acrobat (if you are using Windows), and then restart your system.

  Then try to reinstall the application from the following links:

  Adobe Acrobat Reader DC: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

  Adobe Acrobat DC: download Standard or Pro versions of Acrobat DC, XI or X

  When I want to delete the messages in my BB curve, they are just there. I press the option delete again and again, but they never disappear!

  Also, I have 2 email accounts, and both show a symbol "flower" to say that I just received new messages, but that's not true!

  The "new message" icon would not disappear even when I read all messages...

  It's really frustrating...
