Hi @Ark! Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums!

I think you mean security wipe. A security wipe will delete all your data and applications on your device.

    1. On the BlackBerry smartphone home screen, click Options > Security Options >General settings.
    2. Press the Menu key, then select Wipe Handheld .
    3. Select the include third-party applications check box to remove third-party applications. Clear the checkbox to keep third-party applications.
    4. Click continue.
    5. Type of blackberry, and press the enter key.

    Hello ladychelle

I guess you have already BIS on both of your devices, so first of all restart your device by removing the battery while your device is turned on, wait a minute then reinsert back .after restarting check if it allows,

If the problem persists then register your handheld computer on your corporate network, for the help, see this KB:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones backup content

This may have been asked before, but what I want to know is when I do a backup of my 9810 using desktop software, which is actually saved? For example, it is a mirror image full of content including applications, or does it contain only emails, documents and photos etc? Thanks in advance.

    Hello Asdic_Ping

There are several types of backup:

    • Full (all data and settings)
    • Fast (excluding e-mail)
    • Custom (only selected data)

Source: data of smartphone BlackBerry using BlackBerry Desktop Software

With a full backup, all your data of the device including applications and setting will be saved.

    We hope this helps.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones restore phone again?

I bought a Blackberry curve 8520, thinking he had a GPS function. It's not, so I decided to move to a 9300 series. I downloaded and installed a few applications have many tasks, contacts and appointments in sync with my desktop computer and don't want to lose anything.

I made a backup with the Desktop Manager. It will transfer everything to the new phone when I get it back tomorrow?

How to restore the backup old phone to the new? Should what information I write on paper that won't be available when I turn in the old phone?

I'd better take my laptop with me and follow the instructions on page 14 of the Quickstart manual bit supplied with the 8520?

    Kind regards

    TwoHoot

Hello and welcome to the forums!

I suggest that you just use the device switch Wizard in Office Manager. Connect your old phone to your PC, open DM, click the switch of the device, and follow the prompts on the screen. It will transfer everything on the new phone. He could not transfer the apps if they are not compatible (or even at all, I don't remember), but if it's apps was purchased through appworld you should be able to download again to your new phone free of charge.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones embarrassing phone!

I have a Blackberry Torch 9810 (GSM). I bought it from the RIM, Canada in February. After buying the phone, I went to the India. Right from day 1, I had problems with my phone. The 'Her' related process crashes often. music does not play, ring tones are not heard, and worse, when I dial / receive a call, I don't hear anything. The only solution for this is to pull my battery out, put back in and wait for my phone to turn on again. This not only drains my battery but also me irritated. And lately, the touch screen is not working or the other. To restart the phone, the touch screen works perfectly. As sensitive and responsive as it should be, but it is not for a long time and ends by turns off. When contacted the service center, I learned that it's a software issue. Re-installing the software for which I was charged and the problem still persists. My phone is running OS7.0 Bundle 2395. This problem really gets on my nerves.

BlackBerry has a solution for me?

Operating system device provided are "released" by specific carriers once that they are certified and trained to their support technicians, but still, you are able to load any carrier the same model by following the instructions below.

See the link below to download it and follow these simple instructions.

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    https://swdownloads.BlackBerry.com/downloads/browseSoftware.do;JSESSIONID=A9963E16B82CEC05BFB29B971C...

    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

Note: Some users may be concerned they will void their warranty of device by loading an OS from another carrier. There is really nothing to fear. Please read more information about it here: http://www.port3101.org/power-users/296-blackberry-os-upgrade-including-betas-myths-dispelled.html

Don't forget that the identification number for each device is totally unique. If neither program

  • BlackBerry Smartphones backup problem

I'm not able to take the new backup to my phone (BB 8820). When I want to make a back-up I have the following problem.

The fault is: "communication link failure: could not establish communication with the device.» A required application of the device is missing.

But I know not what application... I can't find a solution and it's bad because I need a new back to the top

Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Try to upgrade the software suddenly course if you do not have any application in the device, with the upgrade, you can have this 'unknown application', follow this link

  • BlackBerry smartphones updated phone number

Hey guys, I know this problem has been published several times, but it seems to me that my problem is slightly different from other peoples.

I have a Blackberry Curve 8520, I install on that Version 4.6.1.314. On my laptop, I have a blackberry Version 6 software. Im running windows 7 64 bit.

I connect my blackberry to your laptop using the usb data cable I click on device and then update device (as seems to be the only way I can update my phone is this way). It comes up saying that the software that I have now is the latest version, even though I know this isn't. Ive also went to the blackberry website and tried to download the software from there to try and manually install but when I click on download it asks me to connect my phone, once I do that it checks with my phone and said once more no update available. If I do not connect my phone I can't go any further.

I called my provider orange they me connected to the blackberry service, after talking with them they informed me that because I bought my blackberry of the carphonewearhouse and that sound is a SIM free (open to all network carriers) phone that I'm not able to upgrade my phone software.

    So, to summarize

Update says no update is available with the V6 with desktop application

Cannot manually download the blackberry Web site operating system because it asks me to connect my blackberry and then says no update available

support BlackBerry at Orange seem to think it's maybe because my phone is SIM free

Can you please help me as I would really like the features that the OS 5 Version and it seems to be a better operating system altogether, I know it may be a lot, but when it comes to this sort of thing with mobile phones not terrible im home.

I could really do with some giving me instructions step by step on how to update the phone and where to get updates from.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me

    :-)

Hey, it's been covered here many times.

First, look for ANY release of carrier for the device, model 8520 you want to install.

For example, the last official version for the 8520 comes from AT & T (v.5.0.0.822)

Operating system device provided are "released" by specific carriers once that they are certified and trained to their support technicians, but still, you are able to load any carrier the same model by following the instructions below.

Then. First, download the file of the OS:

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

  • BlackBerry Smartphones backup images via the Desktop Manager

When I perform a full backup using the desktop software, it load the backups by looking at my most important files (messages & insertion etc.) but I never see it back up my images that I took with the camera.

All images are stored on my media card when I use the camera on my blackberry. When you perform a save as above, these images get stored on?

Many people use SyncToy to synchronize your card (or a folder in) to your PC.

    Sync is backup difference, same.

    Thank you

    Josh

Thanks for the welcome, this is my personal phone, I think I know what happened now but... somewhere along the line, I guess Verizon and BlackBerry did not talk between them, after I activated my phone, but it seems now that the issue is resolved.  Thanks for your time though!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones a phone log, Emails, Facebook Inbox all deleted block

Yesterday my deleted calls log, and now some news only added to it when I call.

At the same time all my emails between February 19 and Sept. 29 disappeared.

Also my facebook Inbox was deleted.

I checked the memory (I have a lot of available memory)

I tried to remove the battery and restart... still no results.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Well I uninstalled FB and reinstalled.  Doesn't seem to change anything.

    Hi Kelly;

Is it possible that when this happened, the phone was in a State of forgetfulness and corrected since then with the battery pull?

Messages and lost data problems are surrounded by the low-memory problem, for further investigation and monitoring of memory must be done in order to understand why this happened. If FB is the only 3rd party application, that you have installed, then something else is depleting the memory. I don't have any solid answers and perhaps another user of the forum can sound to shed light on this.

There is another option and that's to update the OS on your Blackberry. That would solve questions surrounding the corruption of the BB OS if you recharge the appliance.

  • Hidden blackBerry Smartphones 9900 phone numbers? Help.

Some of my numbers have become hidden and I see only recent activity emails.  How can I find him to raise the phone number?

So, to be clear, you have had the phone numbers in your address book on your BB. You then synchronize with Mac and phone numbers, disappear for some contacts address book entry?

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the groups feature in the Mac address book. Have you looked at BlackBerry Desktop Software sync settings?
