BlackBerry Smartphones battery draining way too fast

At my curve for a couple of years now. Throughout the last two weeks, it starts to drain a battery in 4 hours with moderate use. And it's the same if I use the old or one of my new batteries, so it is obviously not the battery itself. Even if I don't use it, it will go to red in 6 to 8 hours, where it is used to hold a charge for a few days, even with heavy use. I checked the terminals and they are clean.

Any thoughts?

The PTT is maybe a problem. Check with your service provider if it can be disabled or removed from your device.

As last step you can try to recharge the device:

1. portable data backup: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB12487

2 backup 3rd party applications: http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-back-up-3rd-party-applications-53201/

3. perform a clean installation of your operating system: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320

4 restore backup database (only important, those for example address book): http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10339

5 restore apps backed up in step 2.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery drain with High CPU (v6.0 Bundle 3049) because of the net.rim.io.impl module

    Hello

    .

I have improved my Torch (9800) a week ago and have been noticiing battery drain issues.  The problem is NOT persistent, but is most of the time that goes well.  I am currently on OS v6.0 bundle 3049 (v6.0.0.706, Devils 6.6.0.246).  My Wifi and Bluetooth are always TURNED off.  Only by using the Bell network, for which I have all 5 bars available.

    .

I investigated further and found that the Blackberry system software was running with more than the processor - usually in the 1970s high, 90 same high.  And this corresponded over the hours until the battery was dead.  I have since deleted all the apps I have suspecpected - such as the Office of Nice and LinkedIn.  But the problem persists.

    .

Battery pull was made several times, as I checked and there is no update of the OS.

    .

Now, currently, only the Basic apps are loaded (Alt-Back): home, BBM, phone, Messages, Borwser.  All other applications are closed or exit.

    .

Further study in the modules of the system software of BB, I found that the net_rim_io_impl, is her consuming ALL the CPU.  I don't know where/what this module does - so I'm not clear on this service within the BB I can disable (OFF) to get rid of the issue.

    .

Please see the following screenshots, the CPU for the system a little, drops as Options use a part, otherwise it goes back 90 years, if left alone: -.

And in the system software of BB: -.

    .

Please help and guide, with either a fix to the module, or via a workaround solution, in which some service can be stopped or a setting can be changed to avoid this battery drain.

    .

    Thank you!

I think it could have been resolved in a second thread.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery drains quite quickly

I recently inserted a 16 GB microSD card in my 9000 "BOLD" and I saw that my BB begins to drain its batteries fast enough. It is are not all applications running in the background, that I make sure I have leave them correctly, and I rarely use Wifi or Bluetooth. I'm completely confused as to why it loses power so quickly.

I don't know if you have the same problem, but what the heck.

Go to the media-> Options-> exclude folders. I had the most about 5 GB of data in my 16 GB memory card, so I excluded almost all of my files to memory card. This reduces the consumption of the battery.

But there is a downside to not sort files, if you access then they would be slow to respond because they have not sorted so far here. I don't know when the sorting ends, probably after 3-4 days or something more, but I didn't have the patience.

    I hope this helps.

  • iPod touch 5th gen battery drains MUCH too fast, even when completely stopped

The test is to charge for at least 6 your and play a video, 4-5 hours seems to be normal for a battery in good condition. Your battery may only be exhausting.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery drains quickly

    Hello everyone.

One of our users has a Bold 9780 (OS 6.0.0.570 platform 6.6.0.212, which is the last of our carrier), and since a few weeks ago, it drains the battery very quickly. I mean, he cannot even stay alive for six hours in a State of absolute rest.

Very ofter the bb stucks with black, loading clock.

We tried the following solutions, and nobody has succeeded:

    • changed three different devices
    • the fourth device has been used successfully to another person, but with the end user, it has the usual problem
    • wiped a single device and put a new firmware
    • removed applications
    • the BES deleted account and then recreated
    • disabled the "cleaner memory" option - it has never been activated, however, but I saw this trick in the forums
    • Charger AC/DC has changed
    • change of SIM card
    • changed 3 batteries

I must say that I used his camera today, and with my account it behaves properly. My bb was given, as a test, to that person and it drains the battery.

I don't know what to do or what to try, because I changed everything I could. You have no idea, please?

    Thank you!

Got the fix: he was the module phone consuming a lot of CPU because of a damaged database. Complete the thread here.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery drain with micro SD card

I recently bought a micro 8 GB SD card for my 8310 and have noticed a terrible battery when the card is in the device to drain.  I didn't notice that when I inserted the card, but once I actually listened to the music that was on the map, the battery started to flow from this time, even after a full charge, and without any further use of map (i.e. has not listen to any music or even turn the media player on).

If anyone has noticed this behavior or can anyone offer all the solutions.  I have not seen anything that it is connected here or no matter where else that describes the same problem.

I haven't noticed the same behavior again but didn't do a lot of testing yet.  I'll mark this as "resolved" and re - open if I see what happens again.

    Thanks for your replies.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery drain

I had my Storm for only 6 months and the battery life took a dive of Sparkle last week. It now holds only charge for about 10-12 hours instead of 3 days ago. He sits waiting in the case, so I do not understand why it should be changed so fast - ideas?

You have all the programs still running? Make sure you click on the menu and click Close. Not end / escape, programs or media such as videos will be always executed. How about "third party" applications that run in the background. Press menu and only five or six supposed to icons to appear: home, phone, browser, messages. Good luck.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery drain when?

I've been draining the battery when my phone is turned off completely. I lost 10% of battery life after about 2 hours. This happened to someone else?

Maybe so, but something is running in the background to drain the battery.

  • BlackBerry 10 Z10 battery drains 2 times faster after OS upgraded to 10.2.1.3062 10 Nov/14 software version

Z10 battery drains 2 times faster after OS upgraded to 10.2.1.3062 10 Nov/14 software version (OS version is now at 3442). I use to charge my phone once every 4 days, but now I need to load every 2 days.

I use no Bluetooth, no WIFI, have no applications running, no text and no phone call. Emails only 2 or 3 per day. Display says battery system 22% use, standby 7%, PIM 3%, home of screen display of 2%, 1%, and the rest are less then. 1%. I need to know what service or feature that turned on the update of the software so that I can turn it off.

I ran a few tests and one of them was to turn on my WiFi. This reduces the rate of use of battery significantly drain (I would have thought would have increased with WiFi on battery drain). After the execution of WiFi for a day I shut it off and my battery usage seems to be back to what I had before the upgrade of the OS. I rebooted on Sunday afternoon, it's now Tuesday night and I'm only up to 63% and the unit figures monitor I have 2 more days still to go. Yes, problem solved by running WiFi for a day. Go figure.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry PRIV battery drain & heating problem

    Hello Blackberry, team

I bought PRIVATE released last week from classic BB. PRIV has severe heating and battery especially drainage problem while loading and between 100% and 40% of battery (drains 60%) in 1-2 hours.

Note that I do not use heavy duty applications and it heats up even when kept or wait (especially during loading).

My Apps are up to date

Operating system is up to date

I have restored several times, but still have the same question (even if no other apps are installed).

Question: Is it a solution to this? BlackBerry is working on it or just forget it and move on to other brands?

Finally and above all, I'm on Blackberry for the past 12 years... I really hope they take their clients seriously around the world.

    Hey parthz8,

Sometimes it happened while the load when I got 5.1.1 but now with Android M 6.0 seems to be fixed.

What I was doing when it was happening, it is to reset the phone with the power button for 10 seconds while it was still connected to the charger. Sometimes a couple of reset is necessary

    Hi akash121

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums

While our BlackBerry devices can feel hot tell a long browsing session, play games, download countinous or all supported. Please press on and press and hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will appear a screen that will display all the programs running in the background, usually five will always look here (home, BBM, Message, phone, browser), appropriate to other applications. are running.

Always try to properly close the Applications - avoid using the end key to close the applications because it just minimizes the application and let it run in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select close or Exit to exit the application. Don't let your browser open when not in use. If programs are running in the background, it will also allow overheating and also to quick battery drainage. Please take a look at those Article I don't know that it will help you overcome your problems:
