• Smartphones Blackberry Tour Facebook blackBerry problem with confirming 'friend requests '.

  Until yesterday, my Facebook app worked perfectly on my Blackberry Tour.  Since yesterday, I get an error when I try to 'confirm' a 'friend request '.  I took my battery and restarted, but the problem persists.  All advice is appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

  First try a battery pull restarts, if it is still impossible to locate and remember it's not hidden, to check that the screen is in the Panel Home screen ALL > press the Menu key and select "Show all icons" or icon to display "." It will show all of the icons that were previously hidden. If you see BlackBerry Messenger icon like grayed then highlight it and press the Menu key and select the icon to display, also search your folders as the Application of Instant Messaging folder, etc..

  If it is still impossible, then try reinstalling the BBM, but first on your homescreen go to Options > device > application management > locate and delete BlackBerry Messenger from this list.

  Once it is perform a battery pull reboot by removing the battery while your unit is powered, wait a min, then reinsert back.

  Finally, after the reboot, use your BlackBerry browser and go to www.blackberry.com/bbmdownload for download the latest available for your device.

• BlackBerry Smartphones BB Messenger disappeared after update

  I downloaded the new update to Blackberry Device Software v5.0 yesterday, and I discovered that my Blackberry Messenger has disappeared.  Here's what I tried to get it back (and none of them worked):

  1A tried to 'restore' my BBM several times

  2 reset (pull out the battery) on my phone several times

  3. delete the "restore BBM" button/option (which, for whatever reason, deleted my application AppWorld) and re-installed BBM

  My phone details are below.  If you have any suggestions on how I can fix this, please help!  I love BBM and I would like to start using it again.

  I found the fix that works is to remove the app BBMessenger Options > Advanced > Applications.

  Then restart: with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

  Once back to the top, then use your BlackBerry browser to go to http://www.blackberry.com/blackberrymessenger and download and install the application again.

  Once completed and restart the device once again, look in the instant messaging or downloads folder.

  Hey everybody,

  Just got my new and first ever blackberry (curve 8520) and have been very happy with it so far. No problems to connect to the wi fi etc.

  However when I tried to use Blackberry messenger I got problems. I don't get requests for contact with my friends and my claims are not being received. I tried the software supplied with the phone, then put original to update the software and restarted and still have the same problems! I don't know if there is some kind of "set up" I do - I can't find any mention of this in any of the documents.

  Do you have a data Plan BlackBerry enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

  You have to, to get the push RIM email functions you are looking for, as well as services of BlackBerry data such as the Web browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

  Then, call your carrier a inquire to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

  What is the reasoning similarly have a BB Messenger if you have texting? What benefits do I have to have? He asks me to send/terminals, how am I supposed to enter his pin code, if I do not know, or simply e-mail address sufficient? I have unlimited data plan, so this program would work for me, but I'm kinda in the process of learning here, only an owner for a few months. I have a curve 8310 with OS 4.5. I don't have a yahoo account, isn't even necessary?  A lot of questions. FYI I checked the status and available Im so so is my friend. I've asked and also invited me. I received an email on my pc and it supposed to go to my phone, but it didn't. I accepted the invitation, he did the same thing, but it always says "pending" it happened for a week. Any suggestions?  THX!

  Your PIN is automatically entered.

  BlackBerry Messenger has nothing to do with the 'left of emails from the server. It passes through the blackberry DATA network and is free. (being the advantage)

  His PIN2PIN contact between only blackberry devices (and blackberry connect)

  Go to add a contact - put its PIN code in (options > status > PIN)

  I've been using messenger contacts with a friend who has a blackberry, and all of a sudden I can't see his messages.  I know that it sends because I get this info in the main message list, but I don't see it when I go to the section of blackberry messenger.  I did all the troubleshooting and certainly did not block sound.  Help!

  I looked and I don't see the same question anywhere so here goes, I last night added a few new themes for my storm, when you add it wanted to update my Blackberry messenger, so I leave it, now, I have the following problem:

  I went on the web and had no problem with signature on the account from there, but using the same email address and password won't let me account on my Torch 9800, even after restarting it.

  Hello and welcome to the community!

  For some reason, the BBID associated with the device is not the one you want to use. To change the BBID associated, you must WIPE the device and then attach to your desired BBID. Of course, a WIPE will be completely destructive to your configuration and existing data, so you should first back up... you can find instructions at the link in my sig auto on this post.

• BlackBerry Smartphones BB Messenger won't work without a Wi Fi connection

  Have you noticed that I'm unable to send / receive messages unless I am connected to a WiFi network.  I was in Singapore last week and the only way I could use messenger was to use my laptop as a point using Connectify ad yes I had active data roaming, but I get exactly the same problem here in Scotland, if I send a msg, I get the icon 'pending' and nothing happens.  I talked to my service provider (Vodafone UK) today and they said that all of the required functions are in place, at their end settings seem correct, and that I should post something here.  It's really annoying because it is the main reason I bought a Blackberry!

  After a reboot if it still does not work, follow these steps:

  Options > device > advanced system settings > host Routing Table > press the Blackberry Menu button > register now.

  Just downloaded the new OS 6 and can't change the ringtone for my instant BB Messenger.  I think that maybe I changed however, when I select the option only vibrate, I always get a sound after that my phone vibrates.

  Hi all.. Installed BB Messenger 5.0 yesterday... Sending a message gets a "checkmark" but recipient never receives it or it shows "delivered".  People trying to send me messages now to me as 'invalid '...

  Worked without any problems at all before the upgrade to 5.0...

  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Setting I am missing, perhaps?

  If still nothing, you need to maybe perform registration of HRT and return service directories.
