BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Browser - data "Internet browser" go through BES?

I would like to know if the data passes through the BES when you use the "browser" from the "blackberry browser" setting

Browsers other than "BlackBerry browser" do not see the BES.

    The browser comes as part of the core OS BB on the device, but depending on the level of the OS, it may or may not be able to operate without an adequate data plan subscription. Some (most recent) OS levels allow the browser to function very well via WiFi BB only, while others limit the browser race strictly via BIS (even when WiFi is the data connection only). Opera can be installed on the BB as a replacement browser and normally works very well when WiFi is available. Many 3rd party applications have parameters of configuration inside of them to direct the application to use BIS, BES, WiFi, etc. for their course of data... we must be sure to have the apps configured correctly to allow them access to a functional way, especially when BIS is not due to no data plan subscription.

    See for general guidance:

    It is not quite fully updated for the newer operating system levels (see above re: BB browser), but it is generally reasonable to use.

    Other than BBM and SMS (in newer versions of PB/BB/bridge), I don't know any way to run, your PB, whatever your BB at all. On the BB, he has the ability to remote control of the PB (via Bridge of BB), but not the other way around as far as I understand. Since you will not subscribe bis, you won't have BBM anyway.

    See this orientation:

    • KB12268 Support for synchronization for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows

    It is not in itself a function of the smartphone... but rather the version of the desktop software that is in use.

    Good luck!

    Question... ish

    Since I've updated my Blackberry last night to the latest version (plugged into my computer for the first time since mid-January) I had a problem with my Blackberry browser. He seems to have changed and only use the MediaNET browser now. All I know is that I hated the MediaNET browser in the past, and I loved the Blackberry browser before I updated my phone. I can't put more reuters.com as my home page.

    How can I fix this and restore my browser to the way she was before the update?

    Hello vinitoblue,

    Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

    To specify the browser you use on your BlackBerry smartphone go to Options > Advanced Options > browser. Under the default browser configuration, select Internet browser.

  • Z30 Z30 blackBerry browser chewing GBs Data Mobile both

    At my Z30 for about a week. Checked the mobile data this morning and it is around 250 MB.

    Before my departure, I have linked to an IP camera and went full screen using the browser not FLASH. (Camera IP android) I then closed the browser completely

    I got in my car and used cards to send me to a destination of 35 minutes.  On the way, I received an alert that I had chewed up to 75% of my mobile data plan. At the time that I arrived at my destination I had chewed around a go. I disabled the Mobile Data. Removed from the browser history and restarted the phone. In no time at all she consumed on another 600 MB.

    In its current form the browser used 2.3 GB then PIM Services 102.7 MB followed Facebook to 22,4 MB. Outside emails, I don't usually use a large part of my Mobile Data.

    He had not exhausted all the data over WIFI.

    I stop the bleeding? Don't want to pay for ove GB GB of mobile data for nothing!

    That's right, it's a security camera running on an old android phone. The camera application: http://download.cnet.com/IP-Webcam/3000-2139_4-75616533.html

    I understand that when you are connected to the camera via my Blackberry browser I consume data. I can adjust the quality of streaming on the client to increase or decrease the quality.

    The camera application supports java / flash / mpeg and HTML 5.

    The problem is that the streaming continues to chew data once the browser has been closed, not only reduced to a minimum in the background. Even after I deleted the browser history and restarted the phone, he continued to chew data.

    I was able to reproduce the problem. If I connect to the camera and try you run the java applet, I get an error message that the media is not compatible and cannot be played. When I select BROWSER/HTML5 video stream starts and continues even after the browser is closed.

    If I go directly to HTML5, everything works fine.

    I suspect bad or incompatible code between the camera application and the blackberry browser.

    Now using the app CAM TINY and everything works fine.

    Cost me $30 data to learn my lesson...

    Thanks for your comments

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Yellow Pages - how to get back my blackberry browser

    Hello

    For some reason any my Blackberry (9000 with Telstra 3 G Australia) when I clicked on the Internet browser is now default Yellow Pages he used will be defined on the Blackberry browser option. With this Blackberry connection it detects my network domestic wi - fi and use wi - fi before using the Blackberry internet browser option.

    I see that the wi - fi option is set to automatic and that it has detected my home wi - fi, but it connects to him when I press on the Web browser. It seems to go directly to this Yellow Pages browser option.

    My browser has NOW the following

    * Hotspot Login

    * Yellow pages

    * Telstra business portal

    It USED to have

    * Hotspot Login

    * Blackberry (something or rather)

    * Telstra business portal

    I want to know is how to fix my Blackberry browser the option back and get rid of this thing of yellow pages?

    Thank you

    HiOzBBerry42

    I spent all day until now talk to Telstra who weren't able to help me, they put me in support of the RIM. I just got on a conference call with RIM and Telstra.

    Apparently, Telstra did change the name of the browser to the Yellow Pages with mobile. yellow pages as home page. Telstra work with RIM to find how to change the name of the browser Internet browser. Phew... what a day.

    Now, we should just work if the change that Telstra has decided to do is also the cause of why my "BOLD" will pick up my house WI-FI, but does not connect to the to use when I go in the browser (as it usually don't do any problems before they changed the name).

  • BlackBerry browser google smartphones in ' go to ' option displays blank page loading.

    Hello, I am a newbie in the world of blackberry. I just got my friends, the Bold 9700 for my engagement present. I use it for a form of the week. I am Malaysian and I use the DiGi carrier. At first, everything goes smoothly, web browsing is excellent. I downloaded a few great application mainly form mobile google, such as google maps, google mobile and gmail.

    the last 2 days, I have a problem with the web browser. When I tried to look for something using the blackberry browser in the option "go to." I often encounter the blank page, especially those who use the option of google browser. When I turn to yahoo, the browser works well. The white screen also happen when I tried to type a web address like wikipedia.org and so on. The blank page still occur. About the "white page", the loading screen appears when complete loading, the display leave only space. left was only the scroll bar down on the left.

    I tried to solve why it was going on, the google browser in the option "go to" can work when I change the "encoding". I tried encoding, and I found one working (partially). Initially the encoding was auto and shows the ISO-8859-1. the work of encoding is ISO-2202-CN. Google has worked, but the web address bar meet the "white screen" problem

    I called the customer Service of my operator, DiGi. They guide me to solve the problem. Traction on the methods of battery, change of TCP/IP in advanced option, the activation of the APN setting. And the last option the guide was the "cloth of security." I did the back to the top of my data. After followed all the instructions, I still have the problem. Worse, I tried to download the google app again after the wipe 'security' the said seeing my phone number was invalid.

    I can't understand what is happening with my phone. At the beginning I had on the phone, I was really excited and impress with blackberry. After that things happen, I'm very disappointed. Is there someone out there who could help me?  I love my blackberry...

    Kind regards

    latifnoh

    Hi, I solved my problem. It is not the browser connection, his concerns setting up the blackberry, the might of the OS. I called several times (my carrier DiGi) and the solution was not there either. so the I thing this must be my BB is the problem, then I send it back for warranty service and what they're - format the OS.

    I'll be just mine yesterday and everythings back to normal. Everything inside seems a new one, as a new BB haha... Thanks be to God.

    He hopes to help! HAPPY!

    Open your BlackBerry browser > press the Menu key > Options > Cache and clear your browser's cache (you can even clear the cookies as well, same place).

    Now do another reboot (turned on, battery pull, etc.)

  • BlackBerry smartphone Email and wireless Internet

    Hello

    I'm new to the Blackberry. I have a 8220 and I want to configure my email. I have a wireless signal that takes on the phone but when I set up my email, T-Mobile wants me to pay for internet. Can I receive emails and view the Web through my wireless phone?

    Thanks, BG

    In BigGuy - without the BlackBerry data Plan, you get a lot of peripheral functions, such as email, RIM-driven, the normal BlackBerry browser, BlackBerry Messenger, etc.

    You must have the BB data for this Plan.

    You can set your browser to the Hotspot browser (Options > Advanced > browser) and surfing the net and as. You can browser to your webmail from google and work from there... but not in the messages folder, because you do not pay the full of the BlackBerry data Plan that allows that.

    You will be limited in function, but you get what you pay for, and some people like you choose to do it this way.

  • Word document and clearing the Blackberry browser cache automatically

    I hope that is clear enough, let me give you general information.

    I developed an application of launchpad for launching the BB browser and it points to a Web site on the intranet that allows end-users to access a word document.

    The end users have access to this document periodically throughout the day to see it has updated content.

    The content of this document is updated regularly throughout the day, a problem arises, however, as the browser cache a copy of this document once it is loaded at the start and can be only manually clear the cache of the browser via the OPTIONS > DELETE the BROWSING DATA > now CLEAR will allow the end user see the updated document to update. This aspect should be done whenever the user wants to see the document, which is unacceptable.

    I realize account by using a word document is not an optimal solution, but under certain constraints, it was the only option available at the moment, which brings me to my question.

    Y at - it no practical way, whether programmatically, through BES settings or programmatically so that the browser delete it has cached content automatically?

    All of these options are excluded, are there no known method to simulate clicks, or control on a BB, be internally via the BB API or even 3 options part where this might be film script in the app to ban? (think windows GUI automation similar to AutoIt or something in that sense).

    Basically, I need a solution where the end user will not need to go into the options and delete the data itself, I realize this is the simple answer to this problem, but there are reasons why this isn't an option.

    I searched the forums here, but also google extensively and found previously that similar surveys were not happy with the results, I hope the further development or even 3rd party solutions may have been raised for this problem.

    Any input would be much appreciated.

    Hi @GSPSDev,

    On the first issue, caching is done based on the URL instead of emptying the cache, all you have to do is add a timestamp to the URL query string and the browser does not load the document from the cache. For example: If your original URL is: http://foo.bar/a.doc, then each time your shipment a request, send it to: http://foo.bar/a.doc?t=%timestamp% (timestamp is simply the value of System.currentTimeInMillis ()).

    On the second issue, the BB API allows you to simulate clicks of the user using the EventInjector:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/developers/docs/5.0.0api/NET/rim/device/API/system/EventInjector.html

    Hope that helps,

    E.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to activate Internet on BES navigation

    Hi all

    I'm trying to activate internet browsing from Blackberry devices. Joana re connect a BES Server 4.1.6.19 version, and I have about 60 users. This is a new server is a new domain. I confirmed that devices are capable, because they are all previously belonging to another area, that was the BES server already configured for internet access.

    My BES connects through a proxy server for internet. I have not fully understood all areas that need to be configured, and I'm getting a "error Http 403: Forbidden" error.

    I already configured the BES as follows - I am I missing?

    Properties of the field of BB
    Create an extraction rule, add group,
    Rules of the user, add users to the Group
    Create a URL schema, http *. *
    The URL scheme rules, check 'allow' for the Group
    Properties of MDS connection service
    HTTP - support HTTP auth = true
    Proxy - direct and other maps

    I found a way to do it now...

    Basically, I got the below appropriate configuration. The problem was that my proxy server has been the traffic stop. I added a new ISA access rule to allow traffic from my BES server on ports 80 and 443, and it works.

    I am not sure that the "HTTP - supported HTTP auth = true' value is really necessary, but I'll play with it later. I hope that everyone in the research on this topic will find this post, then save them from time to time I spent.
