I am a senior and not a professional user of "BOLD".  Fair use for emailing and some applications requiring Internet use - simple things like weather, news, sports scores, etc.  I do not make any social network or any other communication other than electronics and some text.

Last week, I had the opinion of a BlackBerry Messenger message that RIM is pleased to make available to me the Messenger(Client Software) Blackberry free of charge.  They ask me to accept or decline.

Oh, J Sanders, I'm sorry.  Know it was confusing.

My first problem is that I had the blue icon of BBM on my home screen and that he did not know what it was.  er2joe helped me to determine what it was, then, I knew that to go to the BBM and watch the message.  Who removed the yellow dot but left the blue Messenger icon on the home screen.

I thought once I chose to accept it or not, the notification icon would go, but he did not.

After re-booting and always see the BBMessenger icon on home screen, I chose to ACCEPT the messenger software.  I understand more of what it is now and really think J Sanders's right... think it's already there - RIM wanted active, I guess.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not change 'Sounds for the selected profile' or create new ones

    I can't change any of the other sounds in my profiles or create new profiles.  I can switch between them and change notifications as expected from fort to vibrate to silence.  When I select 'Sounds for the selected profile' I get a transition of the screen as he opens the new screen, but then disappears.  I tried to create a new one, but the new profile button and menu option do nothing.  I upgraded to 6.0.0.246 in hope, he could solve the problem, but it didn't.  Can I change the ringtone and sounds for contacts only.  When I arrived at the torch, I could change and I even created a new.  Any ideas?

    I plugged my BB to lapotp via USB cable... the pop up to connect through the usb mode was on my phone screen but I mistakely selected "don't ask me this question again"... now I can't access my BB info on laptop... iv tried to remove the battery. restart the phone and the laptop, using a different USB port on the laptop & try tp select option don't phone via my computer... no chance with one of them... is there anyone that could help me with this problem?

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not configure e-mail, the option is not available

    I just bought a new BB9790 and replace the sim card from my old BB9300 inside.

    I still have the same provider, vodafone, so everything should work, but it doesn't.

    I can't select the option to set up my e-mail account.

    After discussing 5 times with vodafone yesterday they me told to contact Blackberry because it's not their problem, everything is configured correctly on their side.

    I've tinkered a bit more and discovered that when I take out the sim card, reset the phone, I am able to select the mail account to set up a business account. don't have one so it does not work.

    But as soon as I put in my sim card, I can not select the e-mail account.

    I connected my BlackBerry ID and tried everything I could find on the internet, but it still does not work.

    sending the phone back and get another probably won't solve the problem because it looks like a software issue or registration.

    I posted this question several times before and have yet to get a definitive answer. Can someone confirm if I can configure Desktop Manager to display the attachment? If so, how do I to achieve? I'm not a BES or BIS.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not move images of the device towards Media Card memory, or a copy of PC

    A mess of configuration sent pictures to a folder in the device memory.  (Device memory/Home/User/images) All my previous photos went to the memory card. (Media Card/Blackberry/pictures)  I'm not able to move the photos in the folder of the memory of the device, or the card memory or my PC.  Procudes downbload 'Move' and normal PC does not work (I can't in the files of the memory of the device through my PC and the Blackberry won't let me spend the memory of the device to the media card).  These photos will be lost if I can't move.  I don't want to send by e-mail. How can I move the photos in device memory/Home/User/photos either the press or to my PC card.  Help!

    I just did this on my phone, so I know it works. On your phone, go to the media folder, press key (options) BB - and select Explorer. Select the device memory and find your images open, your photo will be displayed in an orThumbnails of the list, choose the image that you want to move and cut it. go back ot Media Card, then select Paste to the folder you want that it to. You may need to do this with all the pictures, one at a time, as I couldn't copy/cut the whole folder. All photo Apps that you also make sure that you place to save on media card. Good luck

    I have a Pearl 8100 and just updated to 4.5 v. I didn't know anything about the updates specific to the provider and just updated directly from Blackberry.com. Now when I try to sync (I use Outlook 2003 via Desktop Manager v4.2.0.14) he wants to add all my appointments from Outlook - but they are still on my BB. If I complete the synchronization I have duplicates of EVERYTHING. In addition, most (but not all) of the 'all day' events on my BB became 12:00 A - 11:59 P events instead of just an entry all day at the top of the day. I continue to cancel synchronization, so I can't even imagine what would happen if I'm as much that synchronize my address book.

    I looked in my Desktop Manager software update, but I can't back up because I can't synchronize (although I backed up my entire Outlook file, so I guess I have backed up). I also watched by uninstalling v4.5, but indications that I found on one another detachment said to remove the upgrade to add/remove programs and it wasn't there. I know that I'm not an expert in this stuff, but I feel very lame.

    I'm also irritated some images that accompanies my Pearl disappeared. I used their background. I read on other assignments that these images are not in the new software - but why they have been removed?

    What should I do?

    for images: you can see otherwise: the pictures have never been published except for OS 4.2 and 4.3 of the OS. You can search the Web, maybe someone will be stored somehow in the form of images and not as an application.

    on the backup: this has nothing to do with the timing.
    a backup is a file that contains all data on your device. It cannot be used at all except for a full restore of the databases. You should be able to make a backup.

    for the calendar: are all the events in Outlook? If so, you can delete the calendar on your device database (using the right Fund Manager Panel) and then synchronize Outlook calendar.

When I use the software on my computer to transfer my photos from Roxio, in my view, nothing happens and I get an error message.     Talk to your computer, close Desktop Manager and Roxio.

    On your PC, open my computer > and choose one of the removable drives, could be named 'BlackBerry' on readers, E, F, G or H, more common. Explore here to BlackBerry > user > pictures.

    I'm unable to transfer photos from my BB 9630 Tour device memory to my computer using a USB connection.  I don't have a media card.

    When I click on Media Sync > Photos in Desktop version 6.0.1.18 software, I receive the following error message:

    "Media services are not available."

    Storage media is not available.

    "Please check a memory card is correctly installed on your BlackBerry device and mass storage mode is running.

    Seeking advice, it appears that in previous versions of Desktop Manager, it was possible to transfer photos directly from the device to a PC without having to move the pictures to a memory card.  Is this not possible with version 6?

    Have you tried without going through the Desktop software and instead use mass storage Mode?

    Model 8830. Macintosh OS 10.5.8. Latest version of PocketMac SYncManager 1.2 (1.4).

    Contacts have been working well. I have sync'd with PocketMac by ticking the peripheral crush, and first of all, I had a lot of duplicate addresses. Second sync seemed to delete ALL my contacts, but by checking the properties of the address book, it shows the 706 entries (twice what a book Mac address

    Nothing not done, I ran twice SyncClean and 'Reset all devices to the first SYnc State'. I have re-started the Mac and Blackberry several times.

    What to do next?

    I deleted all my data via the Options > Security Options > then wipe Handheld. Necessary for the re-registration

    Re-creation of speed dials, themes, ringtones, etc., but it cures the problem of address book.

    My calendar now has 3 copies of holiday in the United States, but I can live with that.

    I want to remove the installation wizard, dial, Yahoo messenger, download windows live, facebook, set up bluetooth, download gps NAV. They do not appear under Advanced options/applications to remove it. They do not appear in the Desktop Manager. I did it recharges on the phone. I have upgraded Desktop Manager 4.5 but impossible to pass the phone to 4.5 that my operator has not yet (and remove the XML to update the different carrier does not work).

    The answer is no, you don't delete them.  They are not really applications.  You can hide the icons for things like new message, which I believe is a shortcut defined by theme.  The other icons are pushed with the Service of your business books.  If you go to Options-> Advanced-> Service books, you can remove this service book and the icon will disappear, but it will get pushed once again if you need to re - register with the network.
