BlackBerry Smartphones can only accelerate my device by disabling Compression of content?

Can I speed up my device by disabling Compression of content? I have a Bold 9000 5.0.0.41 1 running.

Probably yes.

You have Memory Cleaner enabled in Options > Security?  If you do, disable that.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can only switch from IMAP to POP on my e-mail address?

    Hello

I was informed by my computer that I need to set up my BB to check email as POP and not IMAP.

I found (in the advanced settings of email configuration page) where it shows the setting as being IMAP, but there is no way to change what I can find.

Please help me solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Chris

Oh I'm sorry... I read your original post too fast... but the concept is the same... it's a function of the name of the server you point BIS who will control if it's POP or IMAP. So, to correct my previous statements, point a POP server instead of the IMAP server. However, if your mail host works both on the same server, I think that BIS defaults to 'best quality' connection finds it - which is IMAP. You have no user-end control during which she will use... you can only control the BIS server name is pointed at... so separate POP and IMAP to separate servers is the recommended method.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can only fix my blackberry?

My blackberry was not charging and the nearest investigation noted the receiver (in the phone) became independent. Can it be repair or the phone is completely broken. If it can be repaired, do I contact Blackberry and send it to them.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Remote internet, it is really not possible to answer your question... only a material qualified with the unit by hand can tell you with certainty.

If you stay covered by your warranty, you must see your provider of warranty services - who will be your mobile service provider, your place of origin of purchase or an authorized service center. It varies by region, but you should have received information about the specific guarantee when you bought it. RIM offer zero support from first line, even for warranty... everything starts with the other channels.

There is something called incident support, but it costs to just ask the original question, since you are not through the contract, you signed at the time of purchase. If you want to study, you can check it out here:

It is also perhaps a few good reading here:

If you have no warranty, then you should consult one of the technicians of local qualified hardware (for you) to give you a correct assessment and estimate of costs.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can only synchronize only Contacts and calendar?

I wanted to replace my Palm Treo with the new BlackBerry 8310.  With the Palm, I could synchronize my calendar and contacts with Lotus Notes 7 through a 3rd party software without going through courier service.  It does not appear that I can install the BlackBerry software without e-mail service because he was unable to access Lotus Notes data.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help of glasses bifocals!  I used Palm products so far and with this being my first BlackBerry device, I'm a novice user.  Your advice was helpful.  I did download the latest version of the Desktop Manager (4.6).  The LNOptions.dll with the 4.6 ends by works very well.  I found that I needed to open Desktop Manager then plug my 8310.  It's not as long as the phone is connected, I could set up my syncroization correctly.  Strange little sequence there, but you sent me down the correct path.

    Thanks again,

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can the curve 8530 device software work on a curve 8330?

My wife recently bought the curve 8530, and I have the 8330.  I was playing with it and liked the view and some of the features that the new software is available (mainly the new clock with options "bedside" to serve as a wake-up call, and appearance of icons in.).

Does anyone know if the 8530 software can be run on the 8330 without problems?  If Yes, what is the best way to update with the new software?

    No no no.

The 8530 GET it's own device software and the 8330 gets its own software for the device.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can only update the OS for my model

Hello and welcome to the community!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not see the device on my computer memory

    Hello

I have Blackberry 9000 with a 16 GB SD card.

I am able to sync my calendar with my laptop running Vista successfully.

    Parameters of memory are:

    Media card support: on

    Encryption mode: no

    Mass storage Mode support: on

Enable Auto... When connected: Yes (I tried both guest)

The card has been formatted with the BB.

I have not been able to 'see' my BB or the card memory in Windows.  I tried 3 computers (an XP and Vista 2) does not.  In one of them, I even tried remapping all the drives except C: SC E:, F:, etc..

    Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem.  Support BB said on the phone was defective and he was replaced by ATT.  Replacement phone had the same problem.  But I found an unofficial patch for the problem; EM.  BB technical support said they do not support this difficulty, although they acknowledged that the problem set is actually a real problem that occurs.

If your "BOLD" is under warranty have BB tech says that it is defective and get a new one.  Otherwise try your luck with the unofficial fix - it worked perfectly on both phones ATT sent me (but I'm still back together and insisting that ATT send me a phone that works - I should not have to rely on a 3rd party program to repair a defective phone.)

Do a google search for this exact phrase: "some people have problems with the mass memory" and go to the forum of pinstack site that google finds. Yes, it's "are have" in the expression you are looking for.  It was not a typo.

You will have to join pinstack (it's free) to download the patch.  If it works for you do not forget to thank the OP there.  He did a great service to anyone struggling with this problem.

What do you mean when you say "new system of operations? The latest OS released for the 8520 is 5, I do not think OS6 and OS7 will be released for the 8520 that there no hardware to run it.

  • Pair blackBerry smartphones my BB8330 with multiple devices at the same time?

matching my BB8330 with my blue tooth earphone(TM:jawbone) and my microsoft sync which is at the same time in my car? If I combine the car, will I need to pair my jaw all over again?

You can only pair one device at a time to your 8330, or any other phone besides.  The "pairs" are saved in the phone, you can use one or the other and you will not have to pair it again.  Once you turn on your bluetooth device and the phone is turned on, they will find each other again.

    Hope this helps,

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can not put in place a personal e-mail account. I have only option to activate a company account

Hello.  I've worked for a company and access enterprise server needed to receive e-mails from company on my Curve 9330.  When I need is more capability, I called my provider, Sprint and cancelled my plan Enterprise Server and was able to set up a personal email account.  I need to recharge the phone to the default values and now when I go in the installation program to configure a personal e-mail account I only get the option.  When I select the email icon I automatically join in a sign 'no active account' and wonder of my enterprice account activity by providing an email and a password.  I don't have these and my personal e-mail id and password do not work.  I looked through the forums and follow the suggestion which has not solved the problem.  I also called Sprint and confirmed I have more company on my account/plan, in addition to checking with my local cable/internet provider that they do not cause the issue.  I rebooted the device 3 times today and have not made any progress.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile provider for official support... but, this time, not only ensure that BES is deleted, but the BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) is active, this is necessary in order to have personal email accounts on your BB device (as well as many other owners of BB services).

    Good luck!
