  Depends on accuracy method you use... as a general rule, your PC must be connected to the Internet, but it does not matter that your BB is connected to (well, it needs to be connected to the PC, of course).

  There is no such thing as too many questions here...

  You can also benefit from BBSAK (BBSAK.ORG)... that is a good utility to attempt to recover a BB of. You will have to experiment a lot, though, to try to connect your BB to your PC/USB just at the right time in the boot sequence (as the loading bar progresses) in order so that it can be recognized and allow you to proceed.

  Your questions can probably be related to the same thing... the absence of a BB data plan appropriate to your mobile service provider. Installation of certain levels of OS request subscription to a plan... the advice that is given above allows you to bypass this restriction. Many owners BB services require subscription to a data plan appropriate... that are missing, you may not use these services, even if via WiFi only. A BB without a good data plan BIS-level is a device very difficult indeed.

  'New' is a delicate issue... the controls of each carrier that they will release their users. A carrier may be faster than that, so most "recent" is always a question of double-"which is most recent of my carrier?" as well as "which is most recent overall?"

  For your comparison, make sure you understand clearly what is your currently installed operating system:

  The first question (your "most recent" carriers) is quite simple to answer. You navigate through the portal of official download:

  To really return to the default settings, you need your PC. See the instructions below.

  If you just want to wipe your device of all personal data, preferences, contacts, calendar, etc., you can do it ON the camera itself in Options > Security > General settings > Menu key > wipe handheld computer function.

  If you have problems to connect to Desktop Manager, it's a probably a PC problem, not a problem with the device. See more information below.

  If you stay at 9320 curve then more easiset way to do this is an Assistant to switch device using Desktop software.

  Or if you want to perform a selective restore to your new 9320 then first do a full backup of your old 9700 using desktop software. Once you have your backup connect your 9320 and run the software, select the device from software > restore > data choose selected since your last backup you did > scroll down the list and select only the password keeper and memo key data in this list, then click on apply.

I noticed while testing option 'restore' in Blackberry Desktop Software 'Saved messages' is grey so not able to restore and downloaded programs were not included in the backup course so I'm delaying the update of the OS 6 bundle OS 6 bundle 1879 2949 until I can get these issues resolved. First of all, where are my saved text messages would be they located on the SD card?   The Interface of Messages is against the databases on the BB... Watch a saved messages can be as simple as a filter that is applied to display only those, but always from the same database.   As I said, I suspect saved SMS Messages to be a subset of the base of great set 'SMS Messages"together with the message 'saved' being a subset within this database.

  I can't answer definitively for you because I've never had the problem you are experiencing. You may need to test to know for sure.

• BlackBerry smartphones, passing a torch to a 9780...

  I managed to get my Torch 9800 stolen, and the 9900 is away from getting to the Brazil and is still too expensive... so I go to a 9780. I would miss the touch screen too or it's the 9780 a machine better than the 9800? I decided to wait for QNX phones, so the 9780 seemed the best choice...

  To all intents and purposes, the torch and the 9780 is the same phone, with the exception of the touchscreen and physical keyboard.  The processor is at the same speed, both have the same amount of memory shipped, etc..  Apart from the touch screen, you should notice little or no difference in usability.
