Help me please! I tried everything, I just bought a BlackBerry 8520, v5.0.0.681 (Platform 5.2.0.67) and I was so happy, but now I do not know... I can't get anything to work... well ok, I can call and send SMS messages... but I was expecting a little more

I can not install the app world, I really tried to find solutions before writing, but I can't find anything that helps...

Your BB OS is outdated... you need to update... the current version is 5.0.0.1036. Here's what I recommend... Since you are on MAC, which makes it a bit more difficult that the sets of tools to deal with things are much more limited on MAC:

(1) properly uninstall the RIM desktop software:

  • KB18771 Install and uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer

(2) obtain a new download of the RIM Desktop software:

(3) install the software on your MAC Desktop

  • KB18771 Install and uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer

(4) now run the Desktop software, connect your BB when prompted and perform a clean reload of your BB OS, choose the most recent version that it offers (if all goes well, 5.0.0.1036):

  • KB19915 Perform a clean reload of software applications smartphone BlackBerry using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer
  • If you have no data on the BB that concern you, and then simply proceed with this update. If you have data on the BB, do not agree that the update and first perform a manual backup of your BB to your Mac. After the update, you may need to restore from this backup (update COULD take a backup itself and restore for you).

(5) close the Desktop software and unplug your BB when it's all over.

Now, you must do these steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

(1) registry HRT

    Just to be clear, you are opening your browser and typing "www.blackberry.com/facebook" in there?  I do that and I get redirected to a page on the blackberry.com website has nothing on this subject but a download link for facebook.  No AppWorld, nothing else.

    This may seem like an insulting question, but we have seen problems not resolved due to small misunderstandings like this.  Please confirm that you type exactly this address in your browser.

    What model of torch you have! If you encounter a problem with the update you can try to re - install BlackBerry World. For which first of all, go to Options > device > application > locate and remove BlackBerry World of this list.

    RIM has unilateral control over the availability of AppWorld. On the contrary, a triad of entities must agree - RIM, wireless service provider, and Government. As the main entity to profit in this triad, I've always suspected that the RIM is not one that could hinder the process.

    In addition, you should know that AppWorld is simply a portal, vending apps developed mainly by others. Therefore, it is not your exclusive supply source - there are others that you can try (e.g., Handango, Handmark, BPlay, GetJAR and Mobihand). I found that there are very few applications that is exclusive to AppWorld. You can see the online catalogue and then look for other sources of supply, including quite often on the developer website.

    If you have a hardware problem, then nothing what to do with the software or operating system will not help.     If you want to try at the OS level, then the easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates.     5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

    I find no reference to the "905" in the KBs public... You may search with more parameters to find something useful:

    Please try a hard reset: turn on, remove the back cover and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover.     The alternative is to browse the catalog of applications from the AppWorld and then look for other ways to obtain them. AppWorld is just a storefront, vending machines for applications that are developed by others. There are many other sources of sales on the internet. You, of course, is limited to assistance of compatibility which provide other sources these vending machines may (or may not).

    I am a new user/owner of a BB Curve 8330. In the options screen, it said c. 4.5.0.77 (Platform 3.2.0.51). I'm not sure what these numbers correlate exactly with (operating system, software device, etc.)-pathetically.

    This morning, I tried to upgrade to the new version 1.1 BB App World. I think I can get screwed up. When I installed it, it asked me if I wanted to remove the 1.0 version, and I said 'yes '. After installation of v. 1.1 and rebooting, I tried to use the new version and I always get the following error message:

    "BlackBerry App World is had problems connecting to the server BlackBerry App World. Check your network connections, and then try again. »

    My phone is not compatible with this version? I can't understand. I was going to download the 1.0 version and reinstall, but I can't seem to be able to find this version available for download.

    Please help - I don't know what to do.

    I can understand the problem you are having, but App World update will not update BlackBerry Protect unless we do. So for your first problem that you are unable to see your apps to install on ' My World ' you can try this:

    On your device > Open App World > go to MY world >

    • Hold down the ALT key and type the RST
    • Close App World
    • Then perform a battery pull reboot as this device while is powered on remove waiting battery for a min. and then reinsert it wait until the device take a long restart your computer.

    KB24714 : how to clear the cache of BlackBerry App World.

    Now open App World > go to My World > see if your installed applications appear.

    Regarding your second issue updated BBM, please hold, I see you mentioned your carrier like Airtel so if you are of the India then now BBM7 is not officially released for the India, so no need to update unless you get the notification from app world for this update.

    I am now back to OS 7.1 and always without the Blackberry World receives the same error message.
    I tried battery pull several times, soft reset, reset hard, all I can think about.
