BlackBerry Smartphones how reset the active device in the Desktop Manager?

Hello

I lost my old phone blackberry (Curve 8320) and replaced by a new (Bold 9700). I want to put the new phone as the active device for my manager to Desktoip. Whenever I connect the new phone, it is listed as "Device connected" but my old phone still appears as "active Instrument '. When I connect the new phone, it also gives me an option to change to the new company profile. But when I click on 'Yes' it still shows the old phone as 'active Instrument '. How can I reset this setting so that my new phone becomes the active device. I use Desktop Manager version 5.0.1 and I do not wish to move to 6 because I use the Desktop Redirector functionality in version 5.0.1 which is absent from the v6. Thank you.

John,

So I figured out how to reset (w/o call my IT dept ). In order to reset the current device:

1. If you use MS Exchange directly: create a new profile through control-> e-mail settings panel.

2. If downloading emails from exchange server to local folder, and then add a new pst file and make it the default.

After making the above, restart the Desktop Manager and follow the instructions.

Thank you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new update S/W for 8900 blocks Desktop manager with Lotus Notes Calendar

I am using Notes 8.0.2 and using the Desktop Manager to synchronize contacts and calendar.

After the upgrade of your handheld S/W, released last week, the Desktop Manager synchronization crashes when it tries to read the lotus notes calendar. For this, the address book with no problems, but when it starts to read the calendar notes, it crashes.

I have used other sync software that accesses the calendar notes just to check my notes calendar was not inaccessible for any reason whatsoever and that worked well.

If it's a version management issues with Notes 8.0.2 is there a way I can go back to the previous version of the portable software that works well so far? Otherwise, any suggestions to solve this problem?

I'm done deleted my calendar on the device by following the instructions on this thread http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=8900&thread.id=403

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how well the Blackberry Desktop software runs on a Mac

I have a friend that synchronizes its BB 8830 on his computer. It sound it is considered a passage to a Mac, and I wanted to know how well the BB desktop software runs on a Mac. How would you answer this question?

Calendars for the BB desktop software and better synchronization with Mac Mail and address book of contacts or it works better with MS Office 2011?

Thank you very much for the research.

    Hey johnbigbootie,

Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

BlackBerry Desktop Software will be able to synchronize, you must make sure that the BlackBerry has OS 4.5 or more and it syncs with Outlook 2011.

  • BlackBerry smartphones "BOLD" problem Calendar Sync with PocketMac and Desktop Manager 4.6

    # The RIM case: 5499753

I have 4 email addresses attached to my BB "BOLD".
When I go into Options / Advanced / Default Services / calendar, I have 4 entries (all e-mail addresses).

If I go to calendar, Options, there are all of an additional entry in "Default device" 4 as well as e-mail addresses.

Regarding the calendar by address entries, it is divided as follows:

    Email 1) 1
    E-mail 2) 0
    Email 3) 50
    Default device) 38
    Email 5) 0

When I try to synchronize, the desktop software sees only the #3 email that is my rogers.blackberry.net with 50 entries and sync in Outlook, resulting in a loss of events in my Outlook on my desktop. All events are still in bold.

I can not also move all the elements of the default device and assign it to the category E-mail no. 3, which reduced from 38 to 37 and from 50 to 51.
Once you have received an entry on the device, you cannot change the e-mail addresses associated with the event.

Removing the servicebooks (CICAL all) the default device entry has the combined entries.

Once the service books are sent to the device, it then splits them again.

This seems to be a problem with the Blackberry "BOLD" operating system, or a problem of service book (since when CICAL service books are deleted, calendar entries all combine for peripheral list by default.)

This also happens on WinXP with 4.6 DM, is not platform specific.

OS: 4.6.0.125 & 4.6.0.134 tempted.  Both have the same result.

Just got off the phone with RIM support.

    Here is the procedure:

    All backup data

Do a thorough cleaning (Options, Security Options, General settings)

    Content compression set to disabled

    Save the settings

Return to the General settings, Blackberry press button and wipe Handheld.

Load DM and go to the backup/restore, advanced.

    Load your backup file.

Restore only the peripheral calendar (drag the calendar on the right)

You should be able to see in the calendar options, device default calendar with all the entries.

    Synchronize in Outlook.

At this point, you should have all your entries in Outlook.

Hard Reset (press left ALT + SHIFT RIGHT + DELETE and hold the button until it restarts the device)

Go to the website of your provider BIS and remove all the entries that you want as the default calendar.

Set the date and time on the device.

    Turn on the wireless Radio

Return Service directories from the BIS website.

Go to Options, advanced, default Services.

Set default CICAL (this should be the one you really want to like the calendar by default and the only one on the device).

Set the default CMIME if necessary.

Add the e-mail addresses that you deleted on the BIS website.

    Return service directories.

You should have all your e-mail addresses and no. peripheral in your calendar, by default.

All entries in the calendar should be associated with the address you chose as the default value.

    Resync using DM.

Note - PocketMac 4.1.25 is not supported with the "BOLD".

This creates blockages and major sync issues.

I have run this procedure from a computer running Windows XP with Office 2003.

  • Release date target of blackBerry Smartphones for Office 2010 64 bit update for Desktop Manager?

Was very happy to get a new laptop with Windows 7 yesterday and which I suppose is the 64-bit version of office. Downloaded Desktop Manager and proceeded to attempt to synchronize. All the birthdays and the synchronized contact info but no other dates on the calendar. Spent way too much time trying to run when I discovered that the RIM software does not support the last office. GREAT!

Is there a deadline for the BB desk top soft ware which takes in charge the last version of 2010?

Now, I'll go back and manually put my appointments in my new computer. Sigh...

    Thank you.

The latest version of the Software Desktop supports 2010 64 bit.

If I download the new 4.5.0.295 device software package, will that physically restore software platform with version 3.4.0.55 and 4.5.0.175 Applications or is there something that needs to be done to clean the device first?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Not quite... Once you have a COMPUTER policy (which is what is applied with BES), you have to take much more radical measures to eliminate it. See the following article:

    Hugger

For touch devices such as your 9860 and the 9850, you can do a battery pull, or download a software to perform the reset.

QuickPull is one, there are others.

I use the reset function in fancyand in Quick Launch.

Does anyone know how to remove the lock of the country?

Your comments and advice would be much appreciated.

sdgardne is correct, that you want to contact your provider for assistance.  You will also get a new SIM from TMobile card.  Other people have discovered that in some cases, old SIM cards are not working 100% in BlackBerry devices, but once that they swap the SIM card, they have no more problems, and he can use his device as you would expect.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to protect my device? viruses?

    Hello
Y at - it app for protect my BB from viruses? Or is it already in my device?

I want to know how to please

There is no virus for BlackBerry, so you don't have to worry about antivirus. That said, some applications that can be downloaded online can be considered to be malware, so just look at what applications that you install on your phone and you need to be secured. Basically, if you don't trust her, not you install it.

    I hope that info helps!
